Somaliland to get their own separate calling code
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Saalax's topic in Politics
In the 16 century the predominant tribe in Somaliland was around 20.000 people according to Fatuh al habash and some sections were not even mentioned maybe to small. The holy man lived around the 12th century mathematically it make sense ofcourse i do not believe every one is descendants of ofcourse there was some assimilation. The same with Yusuf al baqdadi the grandfather of Cumar walashma founder of the Walashma Kingdom in seylac also partly related to the hargeisa clan. Genetically not all Somali speaking people have the same ancestry but because of islam and they were the only early Muslims in the horn they sticked together and through intermarriage and common values they developed their Somali identity the past 1000 years. As people and later when they adopted the nomadic culture they even re invented the Somali traditional culture. There is one book that mentions the early Somalis in written literature and that's the conquest of the Abyssinians. in details in sub clan and also where they lived and their tribal chiefs and how they took part of the wars. Many clans all lived together. Some clans were lost in other clans and so on. Somalis lived deep inside Ethiopia much further than the Somali galbeed region today. -

For a man, who's tribal territory doesn't pass Hargeisa's Southern tip, you spend unhealthy amount of time and effort in issues relating to Somalia (Anything south of Oog all the way to Kismaayo), specifically to the "Enemy Clan". Who said i hate Somalia, i am in disagreement with some Somali leaders but there is no hate And this is the second topic today i made about Jubbaland and Kismayo its hot news. Enemy clan , what enemy clan? -
Former Islamist warlord elected president of Somali region ReutersBy Drazen Jorgic | Reuters Somalia's Sheikh Ahmed Madobe, leader of the Ras Kamboni, a pro Mogadishu militia which has fought alongside the Kenyan Defence Forces in southern Somalia, is seen with his troops at the main seaport of Somalia's port city of Kismayu, October 5, 2012. REUTERS/Richard Lough View Photo Reuters/Reuters - Somalia's Sheikh Ahmed Madobe, leader of the Ras Kamboni, a pro Mogadishu militia which has fought alongside the Kenyan Defence Forces in southern Somalia, is seen with his troops at the main …more By Drazen Jorgic MOGADISHU (Reuters) - A former Islamist warlord was declared president of Somalia's southern region on Wednesday, something likely to upset the government in Mogadishu as it tries to assert its authority. Although Ahmed Madobe, leader of powerful Ras Kamboni militia, fought against the al Qaeda-linked militants that tried to seize control of the country, he is not viewed favourably by the central government. Hours after the constitutional assembly in the volatile Jubaland region elected Madobe president, a rival warlord who is widely seen to be backed by Mogadishu, Barre Hirale, declared himself to be the president. Madobe and Hirale are backed by rival clans competing for control of the strategically important port city of Kismayu. "There is a risk that Somalia will be split along clan lines," said one Western diplomat, who expressed concern that the al Qaeda-linked al Shabaab may benefit from any clashes between rival militias. "As we get closer to building a federal state in Somalia, we actually risk it disintegrating," the diplomat said. Madobe was a former governor of Kismayu during an administration that was routed by Ethiopian forces sent into Somalia between 2006-2009 with tacit U.S. backing. His Ras Kamboni militia has fought alongside Kenyan troops over the past year, flushing al Shabaab out of their strongholds in the south. Ras Kamboni has been unwilling to cede to the central government control over Kismayu where rival warlords fight to be able to tax charcoal exports to Gulf states and levy duty on imported contraband, including weapons, sugar and electronics. "These two 'presidents' of Jubaland are both warlords who are actually proxies for Kenya and Somalia. We could be on a precipice of clan warfare, if not regional conflict," said a regional intelligence source. The government did not comment on the election but Abdirahman Mohamud Farole, president of Puntland, another semi-autonomous region which has a fractious relationship with Mogadishu, congratulated Madobe on his election.

If 15% are another ethnic group than Ethnic Somalis in Somalia , remove Somaliland from Somalia the percentage of non Ethnic Somalis will rise close to 23% if not more. Somalia is than not that homogenous as we think. Eventhough i do not believe in this Ethnic identification. -

Somaliland to get their own separate calling code
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Saalax's topic in Politics
Any one can become Somali as long as he masters the Somali language , some can just adopt a lineage of the clan they settle with it they adopt a clan identity and become a Somali. If you speak Somali you are a Somali , so bantu are Somali, the Persians in southern Somalia are also Somalis. if a group of gallas from Ethiopia move into Somalia learn the Somali language they become Somalis if a group of Amharas or Kikuyu do the same and learn the Somali language they will be assimilated into the Somali identity. Every one can be a Somali even a white guy its a very lose and wide identity really. Before the 18 century some clans around adari were galla now they claim they are Somali because they have learned the language. -

Malistar you cannot rebuilt a nation you don't have the capacity the resources the western powers there is so little they can do to help you. But you lack the skills when it comes to conflict resolution. You lack the efficiency the vision that is needed to reconstruct a state. All this so called achievements were given to you on a silver plate. Because the world is sick and tired of this failed state so they are committed to resurrect this dead body. Because your terrorism piracy insecurity is threatening the entire region and the Famine the rest of the world wants a solution so they reward you with governmental recognition partly lifted the arms embargo. Its not because you did great you still have the illegal check points you still have no functioning institutions security is non existent with out the amisom forces. Mogadishu has potential but it has ineffective leadership it will never be as how we once knew it vibrant strong proud with its beautiful rustication. All in All Malistar with out the help of Somalilanders you can never rebuild a nation even your president takes Somaliland as an example how to rebuild a nation. Qaalin iyo buug qaado adeer oo wax baro oo meel istaag.

Its about time good news. -
If it didn't crumble the past 22 years what makes you think it will in the future or are you saying John and the EU will make you independent from Amisom, when your leaders guard their own country and can go to the toilet with out General Bahuku escorting them. And when you can confront Uhurro Kenyatta about your sovereignty come back to me. You cant even maintain the security of Mogadishu and Alshabaab is still breaching your institutions and infiltrating it. How many attacks did they carry out inside Mogadishu since the new government. Did you even capture a single tuulo with out Amisom i doubt it. You are no threat to SL you are a kitty cat Malistar.

Xog: Govt will recognize President Barre of Jubbaland.
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Gabbal's topic in Politics
Three major problems facing Ahmed madoobe , he cannot work with gedo and jubbaland will have no legitimacy with out gedo that's one obstacle. The other problem facing Ahmed madoobe is the government in Mogadishu they didn't welcome his presidency And the 3rd Major problem is the other clans in the region will feel that they are sidelined because the vp and president both belong to one clan.
