  2. What does this have to do with Somaliland ma wiilki boqorada kate dhashay baad sheegeysin waxasi wa iska caadi mabruuk banu leenahay but i dont get why this is important and deserves a thread. Since when do Somalis care about new born European royals.
  3. Britain cannot overule the African union it can do that but it wont since it was a colonial power. But what Britian can do is pressure other African states to give recognition to Somaliland.Thats what western powers do, HAG is irrelavant they are powerless, they cannot give into the demands of the Somalilanders, or else they will lose all credibility Faroole might declare independence Jubbaland might declare independence if HAG supports SL and that would be the end of Somalia as a nation state. If HAG was actually in power from raskambooni to raas caseer, that would've been something , but HAG is confined in his own small territory. What Somalilanders are after is not HAG support this is not the early 90s when HAG had power. What Somalilanders want is an offical exit way out with in the talks of Somaliland which can result to the diplomatic recogntion of Somaliland. They want to create more allies in western countries in Africa. There is no more waiting in October there are renewed talks, they might fail big chance of failure, which will be good for both Somalia and Somaliland. So that we can organize new talks more serious talks with international mediation. And than we will get what we want HAG is not needed they just wil come to the negotiation table.
  4. What do you mean by gods? By the way samatar has changed allot in 2004 i attended a lecture of his this man did not even like to utter the word Somalland, He always said gobolada woqoyiga somaliyeed. When he was referring to Somalilanders he said dadka reer woqyiga. And look at him now what a change and now he is telling Somalilanders u were right all along , and u won the debate and that Somalilanders should no longer wait for left overs. And that the unity of Somaliland should be protected.
  5. Tallaabo the other block is caynabo its very safe since when was caynabo not safe? They are not drilling in Buhoodle or eastern sool, mala geogriphiga kugu yara adag.
  6. MP godfrey Bloom a true friend of the people of Somaliland MPS of the EU like Godfrey and other MPS are well appreciated.
  7. These are the wells being drilled oodweyne block and Caynabo block next Year 2014
  8. ^^ Yeah but Somalia's blocks were being drilled by range resources not genel, the 2 have nothing to do with each other.
  9. Here is another one prof samatar saying Somalilanders those who advocated for independence were right after all the past 20 years and we must follow that
  10. Genel decides risk is worth it searching for oil in Somaliland Tony Hayward, chief executive of Genel Energy, is sanguine about the risk Finding oil could be the least of Genel Energy's problems Next year Genel will drill its first wells in Somaliland, the breakaway East African territory that declared independencefrom Somalia more than 20 years ago after a bloody civil war The prize could be huge If the explorer fronted by Tony Hayward finds as much of the black stuff as it expects to, it may find itself in the middle of several territorial disputes in one of the world's most volatile regions Finding oil could be the least of Genel Energy’s problems. If the explorer fronted by Tony Hayward finds as much of the black stuff as it expects to, it may find itself in the middle of several territorial disputes in one of the world’s most volatile regions. Next year Genel will drill its first wells in Somaliland, the breakaway East African territory that declaredindependence from Somalia more than 20 years ago after a bloody civil war. The prize could be huge. At 40,000 sq km, its acreage in the nation is bigger than the whole of the Kurdishregion. http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/business/industries/naturalresources/article3821949.ece
  11. Says the man his own defense minister is in Ethiopia as we speak asking the Ethiopians to remain in Somalia bal waaalida inta leeeg eega.Where are the Xabashis as we speak bay bakool hiiraan lol. The Xabashis protect you Malistar from Amiir Godane or else he would've run over your little project long time ago. Baby sit us , you cant even protect your UN compound or your judiciary institutions . Khatumo is no threat when was the last time they carried out an attack can you remember that Malistar? Khatumo has never been a threat to SL , they actually operate as a buffer entity in a few villages in eastern sool between Somaliland and the garowe clan enclave. They form absolutely no threat 2 days ago 600 of them defected to SL government.
  12. ^^ Waryaa no need to threaten a man under African union protection
  13. Than u have to stick with the SFG and the African union troops but dont expect anything to change any time soon, down there. Because we have seen the first year of the SFG , political disputes with the Jubbaland, the President acting as the minister of health the prime minister the minister of education. All what was achieved was done by reer Mogadishu because of their investment in the city. But the goverment hasn't done much really, in terms of security in terms of creating institutions in terms of building trust between Somalis. And you my friend have to deal with that because that is what it means to be part of Somalia. The country is already split well the former republic its just not official it is balkanized on all fronts. We shall see what next year brings.

You finally took your blinders off and realized that the officials in this government are all about lining up their pockets. I wanted this president to succeed so bad that now I'm reconsidering my stance on everything. The Somali experiment might be a failure. You can always join Somaliland
  15. Its not a disaster u over exaggerate mooge the problem is people were expecting to much , people thought a strong team could've been build the Prime Minister seems to be operating as the deputy Mayor of Mogadishu he is not taking office. Also another problem is on the sector we were expecting improvements such as security thats where the government remained the same. Lets see what the next year brings.
  16. Hassan needs a stronger team he needs a real interior minister who is competent who has the ability to give guidance on all domestic affairs with in the country, hassan needs to get rid of the intelligence service and adopt a whole new plan and strategy to infiltrate all the cells of Alshabaab. He needs to have a special institute of national security for Mogadishu to begin with and later to reach the entire country. The National security service will directly cooperate under the interior ministry the same with the newly established intelligence service. Hassan needs to train the security forces, he needs to have competent first general and a real defense ministry defense ministry is not just about one man, its a whole national defense institution which gives guidance to the entire nations security, this needs to be clearly redeveloped. The defense minister travels to much he needs to lay the foundation of capable defense security force and give coordination where needed. Let the Foreign minister travel to neighboring countries let she do all the diplomacy when it comes to neighboring countries.
  17. The reason why u dont see real progress on the ground is because there is no real army in place other than Some Militia , there is no structured command no real trained officers it will take years until an army is reinstated. Remember it took Somalia 15 years to train troops and prepare for duty 15 years before colonialism ended in Somalia. And back than it was trained by Italy and at independence it had defense forces. right now there is no territorial control there are some militia they need to fill the vacuum they need to train, and they are shadowed by the African union troops and there is corruptions soldiers are not paid on time. So u wont see real changes on the ground unless the SFG changes its ways. Somalia is still dependent on the African union troops.

Somalia is recognized it has a recognized government but its toothless full of corruption with no territorial control over its land and African union countries having more say about what happens in Somalia than the so called government. But there is no hope at the end of the tunnel only Turkish Charity projects when a President tells his soldiers they need to stop the isbaaro, you see there is something really wrong there
  19. Good Faisal needs to be a strong opposition to the government , SL needs strong opposition the goverment was getting to comfortable the past year or 2. Good on Sultan Faisal keeping the balance.
  20. Buuba is family and a very educated man but the man i cant understand him, when he sits next to General moorgen the same man he fought in the 80s. I respect General Jamac Maxamad qalib allot although he is a unionist he doesn't behave as a sell out . STOIC adeerka wa xagjir lol By the way Samatar says allot i wished a Somaliweyn but wa lana la garan waayey hada waxan raacay dadkaygi Samatars point is that Koonfurians made the union impossible , he also said Somalilanders in another interview we should never wait for left overs again.
  21. STOIC;970011 wrote: Che, hehe..Waaar I don't trust this guy. What is going to happen tomorrow if Somaliland fails to fulfill his ambitions? His heart maybe at the right place ,but I still have doubts(not an unfounded concern). The man has the right to change his politics. It is just that he came across as opportunist. Lets not be to hard on the Professor back in the days the Professor seemed to be angry all the time, he was also convinced that there is true Somalinimo In Somalia where people are chosen and elected on their leaderships skills and not viewed in a certain way because of their clan. The Professor miscalculated Somalia was in civil war for the past 2 decades, he has to understand the Koonfurians although a bit slick in the early 60s They were also patriots like the Somalilanders, But the civil war also changed them a bit and even they broke into pieces, and were fighting along clan lines and turned into religious zealots called in all the African union nation states to send troops. Drafted a constitution after 21 years with the help of the legendary Mahiga , Mr mahiga friend of all Somalis. So the Professor didn't really understand the Koonfurians and their plight. I believe the professor just want to give back to the people of Somaliland the rest of his life and perhaps leave a legacy. And go down in the history books as one of the most respected Somalilanders. We shall see his future steps horta isaga iyo reer Somalia wa kala so dhamaadeen xaga siyaasada.
  22. He was away for to long he just found his new Somalilandish identity similar like the Professor the only differences is the Professor was with the Koonfurians and STOIC was with the Kikuyu Lol STOIC you were spot on the reporter was Baashi of SOL
