  1. President hassen Sheikh is making history the First President since the civil war who visited Kismayo and Madoobe became a mere governor of Kismayo no autonomous state in Kismayo. Hassan is achieving his objectives bit by bit well done.
  2. ^^ Somalis have always been like this the land cannot belong to all of us it has to have a land lord who is the land lord. Who decides we have to stay together who decides we have to our separate ways. Who is the decision making Lord in the Somali peninsula. What is this country you speak off to some the county means nothing and its just a piece of land lumped together formed by Somali nomads in 1960. A Somali does not pay tribute and is not loyal to a land an artificial nationality this is an alien concept with in the Somali society. A Somali is loyal to no flag really the 5 pointed blue Somali flag. Is now and days only honored in one part of the Somali peninsula even though they themselves have mini clan Flags. A Somali loves his religion more than anything his tribal origin and his camels. We go as far as our camel goes.
  3. ONLF is in the decline it had major defects since 2007 this is from 2007 almost 7 years ago , ONLF was standing strong back than but with death of Dolaal and when Macow defected. And with the creation of the Liyuu police , Abdi Ileey convinced many of Kin to drop the ONLF and join him in the dds government and recreate an O kingdom unchallenged In jigjiga. Any way a united Somali home grown all inclusive movement can either re liberate the Somali Kilil there has to be some serious concessions for the region to become free of Ethiopian rule or have more rights as an autonomous regions, there needs to be also a reconciliation between the afro hashimites in the region and the long foot community, also the Oromo invading groups is also one of concern Somalis need to open their eyes.
  4. Well the Colonialists had separate clan treaties with the SNM clans to and dealt with the clans of the SNM as separate clans, does that make them different clans, strange logic to say there are 5 clans in Somaliland.
  5. No the fact that some people say Somaliland consists of 5 clans is strange why is maakhir and the garaad clan 2 separate clans, are they not the same clan. No one is going to redraw a map because there are some troubles in some districts. I disagree with wadani i believe the vast majority of the eastern sool and eastern sanaag and the southern Buhoodle district are all on board. But there are some problems, i can predict that Khatumo eventually will merge with Somaliland. The people who live in the country have moved on this is the reality. But people who live outside Somaliland try to emphasize on the differences between the people of Somaliland. Remember people who live in the diaspora have left in the early 1990s at the height of the civil war. I believe the unity of reer SL had been damaged by the repressive regimes of Somalia, who divided the people of Somaliland. Taleexi is not a bad man to he even said that Somalia is divisible so the issue is not Somaliweyn or that he believes the koonfurians are better for the garaad clan. He some how distrusts the middle clan of Somaliland. And that needs to be worked on for the betterment of the nation.

  7. Obama acknowledges decline in U.S.-Russia relations under Putin Video: The U.S. and Russia are trying to repair damage to relations caused by the asylum case of Edward Snowden, missile defense and the crisis in Syria. By Anne Gearan, Published: August 9 E-mail the writer Vladimir Putin’s Russia has slid back toward the suspicions and mistrust of the Cold War contest with the United States, President Obama said Friday, adding that it is appropriate to “reassess” a relationship damaged most recently by the case of National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden. In a White House news conference, Obama defended his decision to cancel a planned summit meeting in Moscow with Putin next month. Obama blamed Putin, who reassumed the presidency last year, for souring what Obama called a productive partnership forged with former president Dmitry Medvedev. Video While discussing U.S.-Russia relations at a press conference Friday, President Obama commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s body language saying, “he’s got that kind of slouch.” While discussing U.S.-Russia relations at a press conference Friday, President Obama commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s body language saying, “he’s got that kind of slouch.” Latest from National Security With lure of religious classes, Iran seeks to recruit Latin Americans With lure of religious classes, Iran seeks to recruit Latin Americans Joby Warrick 2:02 AM ET A Mexican man’s three-month odyssey in Iran highlights Tehran’s drive to woo Latin American youths. Obama calls Vladmir Putin a "slouch" Yes, Putin slouches. Does it matter? Behind Obama's Putin snub U.S. to reopen 18 of 19 consulates, embassies closed for terror threat U.S. to reopen 18 of 19 consulates, embassies closed for terror threat Karen DeYoung AUG 10 The embassy in Lahore, Pakistan, also will remain closed because of a separate threat. “I think we saw more rhetoric on the Russian side that was anti-American, that played into some of the old stereotypes about the Cold War contest between the United States and Russia,” Obama said of Putin’s return to power last year. “I've encouraged Mr. Putin to think forward as opposed to backwards on those issues, with mixed success.” That blunt assessment overshadowed day-long military and diplomatic talks with Russia that both sides called positive. Despite wide differences over Syria and U.S. plans for a missile shield in Europe, U.S. and Russian officials agreed to cooperate where they could. Russia invited the United States to take part in an upcoming contest of tank-maneuver skills. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the U.S. decision to scrap the summit next month was shortsighted and attached too much importance to the Snowden case. “To say that this particular instance is a good reason for questioning the relationship, I think, is not wise,” Lavrov said at his own news conference after meetings in Washington with Secretary of State John F. Kerry, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. But Obama said the decision to bow out of the symbolic one-on-one meeting with Putin at the Kremlin reflected much more than U.S. pique over Russia’s decision last week to grant temporary asylum to Snowden. The Russian decision allows the fugitive former NSA contractor to live and work in Russia for up to a year. Obama cited differences with Russia over Syria and human rights and said it was “probably appropriate for us to take a pause, reassess where it is that Russia’s going, what our core interests are, and calibrate the relationship so that we’re doing things that are good for the United States and hopefully good for Russia as well.” Obama rejected recent calls to boycott the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, next year in protest of a new law making it a crime to “propagandize” homosexuality. “Nobody’s more offended than me by some of the anti-gay and -lesbian legislation that you’ve been seeing in Russia,” but U.S. athletes should compete, Obama said. The canceled summit represents a White House acknowledgment that despite a continued need to cooperate with Russia where possible, an effort to make nice with Putin has failed. Putin maintains a deep suspicion of U.S. motives and campaigned for the presidency on a sometimes bitterly anti- American platform. Still, the tension with Russia is nothing personal, Obama insisted. “I know the press likes to focus on body language, and he’s got that kind of slouch, looking like the bored kid in the back of the classroom,” Obama said of Putin, a former KGB official. “But the truth is that when we’re in conversations together, oftentimes it’s very productive.” Opening the joint talks taking place a few blocks away at the State Department, Kerry joked that diplomacy is sometimes a contact sport. “Sergei Lavrov and I are old hockey players, and we both know that diplomacy, like hockey, can sometimes result in the occasional collision,” Kerry said. “So we’re candid, very candid, about the areas in which we agree but also the areas in which we disagree.” William Branigin contributed to this report.
  8. Somalia the fact that the pirates crowned their own sultan ina Ali ciid for the maakhir clan tells you that Sultan abdisalaan had nothing to do with the pirates for the past 2 decades, halkeed hada ku ogayd suldan abdisalaan.
  9. Yeaah the same man who was in hargeisa for the past 2 decades:D Do you know the where abouts of the Sultan now:D
  10. Hafaaftimo and yube fall directly under Somaliland control There is no garowe clan enclave admin there. its also the seat of the Sultan Ali shires grandson who lives there.

While the Buhoodle district is jointly administrated the northern part of the buhoodle district falls under Somaliland while khatumo runs southern Buhoodle up to the ethiopian border.
  13. Facts check for Khatumo State of Somalia- Lasanod Online. Saturday, August 10, 2013 OPINION:- Is it a time for Khatumo to the change the course but not the destination?.. I, for one, wish Khatumo to be independent,self-sustaining, and fully fledged state of Somalia. But those are the ideals and there always lies a discrepancy between the ideals and the facts on the ground. Certainly my wishful thinking and that of the Diaspora that hail from that part of Somalia, will bear no fruitful outcome, if Khatumo’s governing bodies continue to aim at unattainable objectives without the review, and required re-engineering of the plan, the means and resources, the unity, the political and military relationships, and lastly but not the least, a new blood and administration. Mostly, humans are good to play the blame game and count the negatives and rarely point to rational and non-judgmental solutions. As a humanoid, I am not different; so let us start with what went wrong: Cumbersome governing body structure: Feuding Tribal leaders, unqualified and unforgiving administration with 3 presidents that wanted to rule always and at the same time and above all the so called G-executive branch that couldn’t stomach the sharing of the meat of what they perceived as their off-spring. And hence no effective administration and the blundering of limited resources. Creation of total structural enmity against the two border administrations without distinction and strategic thinking. Loss of additional land and districts to the Somaliland administration. No diplomatic successes for tribal unity, or recognition and assistance from today’s internationally recognized but militarily and politically weak Somali government. No value added recognition or assistance from the international non-governmental organizations or foreign governments receptive to Khatuma’s cause. Fragmentation, disunity and lack of total tribal commitment and local material and human resources. Moral degradation of the Diaspora as a result of the above issues and the gradual de-acceleration of the high and quick expectations. We could continue to recite and build the seemingly, un-surmountable mountain of problems facing Khatuma’s survival but the truth is that those notable consequences were not due to the lack of trail though unsystematic. And history tells us that those are common characteristics and mistakes that movements and organizations usually make before arriving at destination. Khatumo is , therefore, neither alone in this boat nor in the channels of history. Before we purpose the semblance of solutions to khatumo’s setbacks, let us check the facts contributing to those issues: Khatumo is land-locked and have no sea-ports or economically functional airports and hence very limited access to any resources of meaningful volume. Mostly of rural and nomadic population with life stock rearing and sale accounting for most of economical and trade activities without the export control and thus compelling a marriage of convenience to the border administrations with the ports. Mostly un-educated populace with limited local and political leaders of stature and the immigration of talented few to foreign countries for sustenance. Naming common fathers as Sool, sanag and cayn without the full recognition of Sanag and Cayn that Khatumo is their legitimate baby. Is it a time to change the direction and attempt to right the ship? I will venture as yes. News is that Khatumo will have a convention soon in Taleex to attempt and aim to develop a better administration to manage and salvage the original mission of the organization. Solution are not always fittingly the opposite course of difficulties but a mixture of reviewing your failures, and planning for your journey and destination including sometimes compromising your principles and taking the route of least resistance: Find a way to reconcile Khatumo’s relationship with Puntland populace, their elders and tribal leader without vacating objectives and paying a lot of credence with the hostile Puntland administration. Somalia is all about political partnerships and Khatumo should seek one. Show Sanaag and Cayn how they became fathers to this baby (Khatumo), expand and seek to share the union. Streamline the management by amalgamating the administration and the Gs’. Abolish the three presidency system. Tribal leaders could remain as separate consultative body. Appoint a semi-permanent local and Diaspora finance committees. The local populace has to be willing to share the financial burden. Appoint a committee to seek a unity among the different tribes. Develop strict financial management system and process. This is not an exhaustive list and working to attain those objectives will certainly require considerable financial backing. It is advocated in here that since charity begins at home, that the local communities should precipitate and contribute greatly to development of the process of determination and the hosting of the up-coming convention. May Allaah guide us to the right path after all we are a community that is looking self-determination and subjugated unjustly.

Why are you dividing the Maakhir and the Garaad clan are they not one clan. And lumping the SNM clans as one u do know the SNM clans consist of 8 clans. This myth that Somaliland consist of 5 clans is new to me. Somaliland controls 95% of the former British Somaliland protectorate in my eyes they are all on board from east to west.

Although there were members who supported the SNM like Garaad cabdiqani Garad jamac and Mujahid Fagadhe who was the SNM spokesmen. But Somaliland is older than the SNM fighters.

Midda kale you have to understand you would have a better luck with this ictiraaf thing if you stopped claiming other people's land. Somaliland is already a country it exists because its people made it work and they are in charge of the Land. Somaliland is not asking for permission from the Koonfurians. They dont claim Somalia the Somaliland goverment only claims what rightfully belongs to Somaliland. And Somalia never made any hints that it would only support parts of Somaliland to break away in their eyes. Somalilanders do not rely on who ever is so called ruling under Arican union troops in Somalia. They are telling them where they are heading and if they dont like it they tell it like it is.
