Proud Somalis back than even though that particular war bankrupted the Somali republic the Somali republic should've used other methods taking the Somali galbeed region. 1977 la inooga ma danbeyn. Fast move forward the 21 century Somalis are at the lowest of the food chain today plagued by civil war, divided more than ever camped in refugee camps Foreign fighters jihadi members and Foreign African union troops protecting the Somali goverment including the Ethiopian soldiers.Ethiopian Tanks entered Xamar caday at the height of the civil war. The 1977 war just testifies that Somalis were a power to be reckoned with, if they only made deals amongst themselves, but the zero sum game has victimized the entire Somali peninsula. I was listening to Mr uhuro Kenyatta the other day he was speaking in a very condescending way about the Somali state and its leaders. Can u imagine a few decades ago his father was terrified of the Somalis, laakin Somalidi hore iyo Somalida hada kaaf iyo kala dheeri.

Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Saalax's topic in Politics
Back to the topic Mogadishu has great potential but it needs capable administrators ,its far better than to be satisfied with Turkish charities and Turkish Mega investments though the locals will eat to , but the biggest part of the pie will go to the the bank accounts of the Turks. -
Germany hopes for details from Snowden on US spying A summary of US spying allegations brought about by Edward Snowden's leak of classified documents Continue reading the main story US spy leaks How intelligence is gathered History of spying NSA secrets failure 'Five eyes' club The German government says it is keen to hear directly from the fugitive NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden about the US spy agency's activities. Reports that the US bugged Chancellor Angela Merkel's mobile phone for years have caused a diplomatic rift. Mr Snowden's lawyer said there could be a meeting with German investigators in Moscow, but not Germany. Earlier the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, said that in some cases, US spying had gone too far. He said he would work with President Barack Obama to prevent further inappropriate actions by the National Security Agency. Mr Snowden, 30, fled to Russia in June after leaking details of far-reaching US telephone and internet espionage. He has temporary asylum, allowing him to live in Russia, until July 2014. "If the message is that Mr Snowden wants to give us information then we'll gladly accept that," German Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich said on Friday. The German chancellor's anxiety about US spying overshadowed last week's EU summit, when she remarked with irritation that spying on friends is "really not on". In a surprise move, a German Green MP, Hans-Christian Stroebele, met Mr Snowden in Moscow on Thursday and revealed the former intelligence contractor's readiness to brief the German government on NSA spying. Mr Snowden set out his position in a letter, which Mr Stroebele showed to reporters at a news conference in Berlin on Friday. The scale of the alleged US espionage has provoked international concern and calls for tighter supervision. Asian countries have protested at claims that Australia was involved in a US-led spy network. Continue reading the main story How intelligence is gathered How intelligence is gathered Accessing internet company data Tapping fibre optic cables Eavesdropping on phones Targeted spying Read more in our in-depth report India now a 'Big Brother' state? Fugitive Snowden 'may help Germany' Anger over Australia Asia spy claims China has demanded an explanation of the reports, while Indonesia has summoned the Australian ambassador to Jakarta. In other developments: Major technology companies including Google, Apple and Yahoo have called for the US government to do more to rein in the NSA's activities Indonesia's foreign minister said reports that the NSA used Australian embassies to eavesdrop on Asian countries would indicate a "serious breach" of diplomatic rules. 'Amazingly talkative' Mr Stroebele said Mr Snowden would be ready to go to Germany if it could be guaranteed that he would not be extradited to the United States, where he is wanted to stand trial for revealing official secrets. The Bundestag - the lower house of the German parliament - has the power to decree that someone addressing it has immunity but it is not clear whether Mr Snowden would get legal protection in Germany. However, Mr Snowden's lawyer Anatoly Kucherena later said his client would not go to Germany. "This is not possible because he has no right to cross Russian borders," Mr Kucherena said. "Within the framework of international agreements Snowden can give testimony in Russia but this should be decided by the German authorities," Mr Kucherena said. Mr Stroebele had suggested that investigators could question Mr Snowden in Moscow about the NSA. The German government says it would welcome a meeting with the whistleblower. "We will find a way, if Mr Snowden is willing to talk,'' Mr Friedrich said. "Any clarification, any information and facts that we can get, is good." Speaking to German ARD television, Mr Stroebele said that Mr Snowden had "made it clear that he knows a very great deal." Mr Stroebele described the former intelligence contractor as "amazingly talkative - he has a mission, an urge to communicate, he wants things to be put back on a legal basis". Mr Snowden is starting work on Friday for a major private website in Russia, his lawyer has said. Mr Kucherena would not disclose which site has employed Mr Snowden, citing security concerns.

Thanks Moonlight i believe faroole has a big chance coming back as winner , the reason i say this is faroole has the state resources which will favor him. Gen Abdisamad will bring the 17 Garaad clan MPS , although we must admit there is allot of opposition to faroole. Where is the detoore so that he can tell us about General Siciid Samtar is he favored by the Bosaaso communities. There is a god fearing Sheikh also running i have seen he also ran for Somalia presidency is he liked, and does he have the money to bribe the MPS. i mean Sheikhs have a big wallet. By the way are all the candidates from the ssdf families no one from Goldogob maakhir or the garaad clan is running? -

Turkey to own Mogadishu port and airport for 20 years
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Saalax's topic in Politics
^^ Somalis have always been like this the land cannot belong to all of us it has to have a land lord who is the land lord. Who decides we have to stay together who decides we have to our separate ways. Who is the decision making Lord in the Somali peninsula. What is this country you speak off to some the county means nothing and its just a piece of land lumped together formed by Somali nomads in 1960. A Somali does not pay tribute and is not loyal to a land an artificial nationality this is an alien concept with in the Somali society. A Somali is loyal to no flag really the 5 pointed blue Somali flag. Is now and days only honored in one part of the Somali peninsula even though they themselves have mini clan Flags. A Somali loves his religion more than anything his tribal origin and his camels. We go as far as our camel goes. -
ONLF is in the decline it had major defects since 2007 this is from 2007 almost 7 years ago , ONLF was standing strong back than but with death of Dolaal and when Macow defected. And with the creation of the Liyuu police , Abdi Ileey convinced many of Kin to drop the ONLF and join him in the dds government and recreate an O kingdom unchallenged In jigjiga. Any way a united Somali home grown all inclusive movement can either re liberate the Somali Kilil there has to be some serious concessions for the region to become free of Ethiopian rule or have more rights as an autonomous regions, there needs to be also a reconciliation between the afro hashimites in the region and the long foot community, also the Oromo invading groups is also one of concern Somalis need to open their eyes.

The Sucess Of The Borama Conference In Creating Somaliland
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to GAROODI's topic in Politics
Well the Colonialists had separate clan treaties with the SNM clans to and dealt with the clans of the SNM as separate clans, does that make them different clans, strange logic to say there are 5 clans in Somaliland. -
The Sucess Of The Borama Conference In Creating Somaliland
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to GAROODI's topic in Politics
No the fact that some people say Somaliland consists of 5 clans is strange why is maakhir and the garaad clan 2 separate clans, are they not the same clan. No one is going to redraw a map because there are some troubles in some districts. I disagree with wadani i believe the vast majority of the eastern sool and eastern sanaag and the southern Buhoodle district are all on board. But there are some problems, i can predict that Khatumo eventually will merge with Somaliland. The people who live in the country have moved on this is the reality. But people who live outside Somaliland try to emphasize on the differences between the people of Somaliland. Remember people who live in the diaspora have left in the early 1990s at the height of the civil war. I believe the unity of reer SL had been damaged by the repressive regimes of Somalia, who divided the people of Somaliland. Taleexi is not a bad man to he even said that Somalia is divisible so the issue is not Somaliweyn or that he believes the koonfurians are better for the garaad clan. He some how distrusts the middle clan of Somaliland. And that needs to be worked on for the betterment of the nation. -

Obama acknowledges decline in U.S.-Russia relations under Putin Video: The U.S. and Russia are trying to repair damage to relations caused by the asylum case of Edward Snowden, missile defense and the crisis in Syria. By Anne Gearan, Published: August 9 E-mail the writer Vladimir Putin’s Russia has slid back toward the suspicions and mistrust of the Cold War contest with the United States, President Obama said Friday, adding that it is appropriate to “reassess” a relationship damaged most recently by the case of National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden. In a White House news conference, Obama defended his decision to cancel a planned summit meeting in Moscow with Putin next month. Obama blamed Putin, who reassumed the presidency last year, for souring what Obama called a productive partnership forged with former president Dmitry Medvedev. Video While discussing U.S.-Russia relations at a press conference Friday, President Obama commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s body language saying, “he’s got that kind of slouch.” While discussing U.S.-Russia relations at a press conference Friday, President Obama commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s body language saying, “he’s got that kind of slouch.” Latest from National Security With lure of religious classes, Iran seeks to recruit Latin Americans With lure of religious classes, Iran seeks to recruit Latin Americans Joby Warrick 2:02 AM ET A Mexican man’s three-month odyssey in Iran highlights Tehran’s drive to woo Latin American youths. Obama calls Vladmir Putin a "slouch" Yes, Putin slouches. Does it matter? Behind Obama's Putin snub U.S. to reopen 18 of 19 consulates, embassies closed for terror threat U.S. to reopen 18 of 19 consulates, embassies closed for terror threat Karen DeYoung AUG 10 The embassy in Lahore, Pakistan, also will remain closed because of a separate threat. “I think we saw more rhetoric on the Russian side that was anti-American, that played into some of the old stereotypes about the Cold War contest between the United States and Russia,” Obama said of Putin’s return to power last year. “I've encouraged Mr. Putin to think forward as opposed to backwards on those issues, with mixed success.” That blunt assessment overshadowed day-long military and diplomatic talks with Russia that both sides called positive. Despite wide differences over Syria and U.S. plans for a missile shield in Europe, U.S. and Russian officials agreed to cooperate where they could. Russia invited the United States to take part in an upcoming contest of tank-maneuver skills. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the U.S. decision to scrap the summit next month was shortsighted and attached too much importance to the Snowden case. “To say that this particular instance is a good reason for questioning the relationship, I think, is not wise,” Lavrov said at his own news conference after meetings in Washington with Secretary of State John F. Kerry, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. But Obama said the decision to bow out of the symbolic one-on-one meeting with Putin at the Kremlin reflected much more than U.S. pique over Russia’s decision last week to grant temporary asylum to Snowden. The Russian decision allows the fugitive former NSA contractor to live and work in Russia for up to a year. Obama cited differences with Russia over Syria and human rights and said it was “probably appropriate for us to take a pause, reassess where it is that Russia’s going, what our core interests are, and calibrate the relationship so that we’re doing things that are good for the United States and hopefully good for Russia as well.” Obama rejected recent calls to boycott the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, next year in protest of a new law making it a crime to “propagandize” homosexuality. “Nobody’s more offended than me by some of the anti-gay and -lesbian legislation that you’ve been seeing in Russia,” but U.S. athletes should compete, Obama said. The canceled summit represents a White House acknowledgment that despite a continued need to cooperate with Russia where possible, an effort to make nice with Putin has failed. Putin maintains a deep suspicion of U.S. motives and campaigned for the presidency on a sometimes bitterly anti- American platform. Still, the tension with Russia is nothing personal, Obama insisted. “I know the press likes to focus on body language, and he’s got that kind of slouch, looking like the bored kid in the back of the classroom,” Obama said of Putin, a former KGB official. “But the truth is that when we’re in conversations together, oftentimes it’s very productive.” Opening the joint talks taking place a few blocks away at the State Department, Kerry joked that diplomacy is sometimes a contact sport. “Sergei Lavrov and I are old hockey players, and we both know that diplomacy, like hockey, can sometimes result in the occasional collision,” Kerry said. “So we’re candid, very candid, about the areas in which we agree but also the areas in which we disagree.” William Branigin contributed to this report.
