Somaliland has abundance of loyal citizens but there is serious shortage in leaders and thinkers. You are really full of your self ,you think you have all the answers keep it down saaxib, there are enough leaders visionary people but sitting with people with south western Somalia is just a waste of time and energy. Do you think Dr Bidaar would not came with this idea he was born in Baydhabo.
  5. Yes there is a dispute between the Garaad clan but Puntland has a hand to it , it supports one faction , Puntland is against the 2 garaad jamacs and galaydh and indhosheel group. Thanks for sharing the video of askars program he puts things to light , and it seems that a segment of the garaad clan wishes to stop the conference.

Everything is possible Homunculus if Somalis put aside their differences a unified currency could work if Somalis work it out in details. But i am realistic this is impossible well atleast in our life time or even that of our children. If the Europeans can do it can put aside their differences today they have one currency a unified market movement of people.
  8. Makes no sense karaash is Puntland he is their proxy , puntland does not want a conference in taleex this is not a sub clan feud but a political fight which went out of hand the sub clanish feuds were solved long time ago. And they were between 2 sub sub sub clans of reer taleex. Puntland wants to halt , Indhosheel for coming there, and just supported karaash who is a puntland proxy.
  9. Mooge when did 2 burco sub clans fought and lose more than 13 men naga daa hadaba dee this is politically motivated abdisamad cali shire ma sub clan bu metala mise wa vp of Puntland. This is not a sub clan issue the pirates attacked the president of khatumo in taleex, this is a fact. You can cry all day about culusow but culusow did not kill 13 men in Taleex , the Pirate enclave did that , they instigated this conflict. Why not leave taleex alone why not go back to Garowe, and let khatumo hold their conference in taleex.
  10. Guleed Ali in an ideal world Somalia and Somaliland would have been the best allies boosting relations on all fronts integrating their economies the movement of people the boundaries between the 2 countries would become eventually artificial since the countries have shared values culture linguistic ties, many of Somaliland have relatives in Somalia and many in Somalia have relatives in Somaliland. The whole passport dispute would not been even an issue if the 2 countries had diplomatic ties Tanzania Kenya and Uganda are about to introduce one passport ,in time Somalia and Somalia and Djibouti could introduce one passport. But Somalis are to proud compromising on such issues is impossible both Somalis of Somalia and Somalis of Somaliland are stubborn and consider compromising and giving each other the benefit of the doubt being defeated by the other. A home grown new union based on shared interest and mutual respect could have been created long time ago but i doubt we are any different than the rest of African nations that went their separate ways. We will never see the bigger picture well atleast the leaders will not the bickering and disputes will continue for years to come.
  11. The Pirates for the first time are engaging not on sea but on Land but there is more 2 it Axmed Karaash one of the 3 presidents of Khatumo is in line with The Vice President of the garowe clan enclave Mr Abdisamad ali shire and rejects to hold a conference in Taleex. Its much more complex than it looks, where is our local resident of Taleex , Taleexi these days he is the Fifth cousin of Abdismad Ali shire.
  12. There was allot of corruption during Kibaki's reign i believe during this Uhuro admin Kenya can surpass Ethiopia on all fronts in diplomacy on manufacturing industrialization Kenya has still a higher GDP than Ethiopia. Ethiopia though is building large dams eventhough its still very poor. On Somalia and Somaliland Kenyans are new players the Ethiopians were in Somali politics since as long as i can remember. The Kenyans are quick learners they are learning from the Ethiopians to empower the differences of interests in the Somali peninsula.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has budgeted the money in the next financial year starting July 2014 to open eight new missions and six new consulates in Africa. The new chanceries will be based in Cuba, Algeria, Morocco, Angola, Ghana, Malawi, Senegal and Djibouti while the consulates will be located in Arusha, Lagos, Goma, Garowe, Hargeisa and Kismayu. The ministry requires a total of Sh5.8 billion, with a significant chunk of the resources going to foreign travel. Officials will spend Sh200 million in articulating Kenya’s position at international, regional and multilateral forums. According to the Medium Term Expenditure Framework budget for 2014/15 presented to the National Assembly Budget and Appropriation Committee on Thursday by Planning principal secretary Peter Mangiti, the ministry intends to spend Sh20 million to promote Nairobi as a hub for multilateral diplomacy and a further Sh150 million for establishment of the Kenya Fund for Technical Cooperation. The ministry has also set aside Sh150 million foreign travel kitty that will cater for newly appointed ambassadors and shuttle diplomacy. Training of the newly appointed ambassadors, diplomats and officers on posting will cost taxpayers Sh100 million while payment of shipment allowance for officers on recall will cost a similar amount. President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are yet to fill vacant positions in the diplomatic posting following the of recall of 39 of Kenya’s 52 envoys based abroad in June. The President is expected to make changes in the postings following a shift in foreign policy that favours the East as opposed to the West. According to a report on diplomatic missions compiled by the Defence and Foreign Affairs committee of the 10th Parliament, Kenyans paid Sh265.1 million in rent and remuneration for 13 envoys who had either refused to return home or were held up by bureaucracy after their tours of duty ended.

You cant back down from the talks you can prolong it but it has an end the talks can only fail we are waiting when they do but no side both SL or Somalia can back down from the Talks. The only way we can go from here is let the talks collapse all together and than the ball is in the court of our friends the Europeans and how to go from there:D
  16. Kaluun thats not the way forward what you need to work is how to forge better relations between Hargeisa and Mogadishu, no need to talk to pirates the big foot community or any one else. The strategic power of 3 alliance will bear more fruit than any other alliance ever in the Horn.
  17. Flights between Mogadishu and Somaliland cancelled due to row Print Nov 30, 2013 | By Somalicurrent Local Air travel between Somalia’s capital Mogadishu and Berbera, was grounded for the second day, after air carriers canceled their flights due to passport row between Somalia government and Somaliland. Somali Immigration Department has allegedly arrested passengers traveling to Berbera on Thursday, accusing them of using the previous banned Somali Passport. July 2011, the Transitional Federal Government has officially banned the usage of the Green Passport and ordered the citizens to apply the biometric passport known as E-Passport in the country. However, Somaliland administration in northern Somalia does not recognize Somalia’s Biometric Passport and instead opted originally used one. In an interview with BBC, Somaliland Interior Minister Ali Mohamed Waran-ade said earlier October that his government would not allow the public to use the passport. “We broke away from Somalia, we don’t recognize their passport and they don’t recognize ours,” said Waran-ade, adding, “No one can travel with Somali passport, unless it is the previous one.” The passport row between Mogadishu and Hargeisa led the cancellation of the flights, upsetting aid workers and local travellers. No official from both sides has commented on the issue, but air carriers are trying to find a way to continue the flights. Somaliland is self-declared sovereign state that is internationally recognised as an autonomous region of Somalia.
  18. Kulmiye is not facing great opposition although some good opposition is needed wadani is just kicking off , the charismatic Axmed Hassan Cigaal would be a better opposition than Ciiro, but we shall see. Kulmiye so far is scoring points. Sultan Faisal cali hussein and Jamaal Cali Hussein labada nin eeh isku magaca ah have good ideas but i believe Faisal wants to be the ayatollah if Jamaal is president lol
  19. He thinks outside the Box allright but its counterproductive in the long run , but his efforts are appreciated.
  20. Hawdian you are viewing it from a Somaliland perspective but you should place your self in the shoes of the Koonfurians and the way they experienced the failed union the civil war the Siad bare regime the civilian government the Somaliweyn slogans and the post Kacaan TFGIS. Somalia and Somaliland have allot of similarities but they differ two on many fronts. Somalia nationalism is solely based on the Somaliweyn slogans blue Flag this is the solid foundation of what is today Somalia. Remove that what do the Koonfurians have nothing really an empty shelf. Like wise in Somaliland , Somaliland nationalism is solely the past 22 years based on Somaliland independence the louder the Koonfurians call Somaliweyne the more the anti Somalia sentiment grows in Somaliland and the higher the Somalilanders wave their flag. The 2 are some how are parallel how ever quiet the opposite , the Koonfurians cannot accept Somaliland independence its for political or pragmatic reasons but its something rooted in their physiological nationalistic characteristics. When the Koonfurians say well you suffered but so did we, they dont belittle the suffering of the Somaliland people but they are finding ways to revive the union remember what i said before their being a nation is based on Somaliweyn, not Somalia. Somalia and Somaliland also differ the way they understand the need to reach a compromise Somalilanders amongst themselves can reach a compromise. Koonfurians on the other hand cant reach a compromise unless its dictated by the international community. But Somalilanders themselves cannot reach a compromise with the Koonfurians like wise the Koonfurans cannot reach a compromise with Somalilanders, for obvious reasons. Compromise is also a very defeatist concept its smells and sounds like defeat. I believe Somalilanders should not blink when they are dealing with koonfurians also the Koonfurians should not concede to the demands of Somalilanders. We cant have Koonfurian Children in 30 years time winning a debate against Somaliland kids telling them that the Koonfurians accepted Somaliland independence out of good will. No No both Somalia and Somaliland must be forced to compromise by the international community which will legitimize Maandeeq in the eyes of the international community. No history will be Somaliland created the union because of their wisdom and reestablished their nation on their own strength. As for professor samatar he should know that the Koonfurians will not bow down for intellectualism and how wise one is but they are led by guns and can only be subdued if you force them under an ideology like the Afro hashimite Emir Godane did. Professor samatar was dead wrong when he thought the Koonfurians will allow a Somalilander to govern over them, but he found out the hard way.
  21. ^^ No one in Somaliland would allow a man with the name kaluun to lead them , and his adventures would not bare fruit any way's:D If he starts talking about lets bring fruits and lets send a delegation to Baydhabo people will say naga dayaa wa mid awal ba meel kale u socday and thats where it ends:D
  22. ^^ You are a funny man Kaluun:D waad iga qoslisay
  23. If somaliland was seperate in the eyes of the world than i would not mind having fingers in the affairs of somalia. But we cannot afford to mix our selves with the koonfurians its goood to build friendship down south. But your right ano ethnic afro hashimate had most of the reer may may under alshabaab, its not hard to support them, its not bad to empower the minorities in somalia.
  24. Haaahahahahaahaha @moonlight thats a thing a lander would say. Waryaa kaluun i have no problem with reer may may or any region of somalia as long as they support somaliland seperation from somalia, somaliland should return the favor and support them any clan region tribe or subclan that wants to have warm relations with somaliland is welcome.
