we shall see time will tell. i doubt the youth of Awdal will fight for the survival of Djibouti. what did Djibouti ever do ever for Awdal , In Djibouti the people who origanlly hail from Awdal if they are not the jesus clan are very hardly marganilized there, and hold no significant power what so ever. So why would the awdalite people care for whether Djibouti is cut off from other Somalis or not
-
So you think Djibouti can occupy parts of Somaliland particularly the entirety of the awdal region.

Djibout Milita cannot ever enter SL territory they know this the Djiboutian army couldnt defend their land from an Eritrean girl Militia but i really welcome them they should try it this is what SL needs the most i really hope Jabuuti pulls through and smuggle militia inside Somaliland , this will be the best thing that will happen to SL

Why do the Koonfurians presume they can speak on behalf of the Awdalite people, implying that they are a weak group whose rights have been suppressed? The Awdalite people boast intellectuals, political leaders, traditional leaders, and business leaders. They are among Somaliland's finest, and there has never been an uprising in Awdal, contrary to the narratives propagated by Koonfurians for their own gain. Where do we draw the line? Should there be a notion of sub-sub-clan self-determination? Who has the authority to decide what a clan can or cannot do? These questions merit serious consideration. The majority of the Awdalite people stand firmly behind their country and community, except for a few dissidents like Galbeedi and other members of the diaspora in Canada, who believe their interests are better served in the Bunker primarily out of self interest. The Duriyad clan also has a few who think they can profit from the Bunker. The reality is that the eastern Sanaag and eastern Sool regions have no genealogical ties with the rest of Somaliland, hence their desire to leave based on tribal self-determination, as they feel their interests are better served elsewhere. However, the Awdalite clan is deeply connected to the rest of Somaliland both tribally and economically, with significant investments in Hargeisa. Personally, I hope Geele does bring militia into Awdal, so the true outcome can be witnessed. Geele miscalculates in thinking the Awdalite clan will act on his behalf. What he fails to grasp is that the Awdalite clan would rather push his clan further into Djibouti and out of Selel region. In the 1990s, when Djibouti attempted something similar, Abdurahmaan Tuur and the SNM expelled their militia from the entire Awdal region. History, I believe, will repeat itself.

Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
Absolutely but lately Karaash made some remarks and Caare didnt like it one bit the 1993 Peace conference held in Ceerigaabo kept the peace between the four Clans in Sanaag , every one questions or tries to violate that treaty then it can go ugly. Hopefully not -

Ina Biixi has unveiled the inherent fragility of both the Bunker and Djibouti, while Bixii remains unconcerned, as the UAE wields greater power than any other nation in the region. The UAE's involvement, driven by their previous fallout with Djibouti, further solidifies this stance and their investments in Addis Ababa . Thus far, Biihi has adeptly navigated the situation, whereas Geele appears to have overplayed his hand prematurely. Once considered shrewd, Geele’s strategy now seems questionable. He has revealed his antagonistic stance towards Somaliland, much to easy much to early, yet there is little concern about Firdhiye, who is viewed as an insignificant pawn in Geele’s game. Firdhiye's motivations remain unclear. Somaliland possesses significant leverage, and Geele is feeling the pressure from various fronts. Notably, the conflict between his Jesus clan and the Afar, exacerbated by Abiye's federal forces siding with the Afar, highlights Geele's preoccupation with the Djibouti-Addis Ababa corridor and port business. Sources suggest that Abiye's dissatisfaction with Geele is escalating, cautioning him against opposing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Should Geele persist, Addis Ababa may redirect its business to Port Sudan, Port Lamu, and Berbera, posing a substantial threat to Djibouti's economic interests. In contrast, Somaliland is well-prepared for potential conflict, with troops stationed in Sool and around the Oog region. Many intellectuals hope Geele provokes Somaliland by deploying militia in Awdal, which would likely unite the Duriyad clan more then ever we have heard Suldan cismaan Suldaan Cali Suldan Madar and his remarkts towards Garaad jamac garaad Cali. However, Awdalites remain mature and well-led community, with leaders such as Sultan Dhawal, Sheikh Ali Jawhar, and Ina Rayaale, is unlikely to succumb to Geele’s machinations. If Geele seeks to make a statement through opposition in Somaliland, he may inadvertently strengthen his adversaries. Somaliland could leverage figures like Ina Boore and other Djibouti opposition in members, exploiting Djibouti's internal discontent and give them Platform inside Somaliland. With 280,000 Djiboutians holding dual citizenship in both Somaliland and Djibouti, the latter has an intimate understanding of Djibouti’s clan and political dynamics. Geele should be cautious, as the saying goes, "Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones." The future promises to be intriguing indeed.

Abiy Accuses the Opposition of Planning A Coup
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
He is right though Abiye is Military man so he knows what he is talking about i doubt they can do a coup on him -
if SL is so fragile weak and based on lies it wouldnt take clans tribes a country such as Djibouti and the Bunker to combine their efforts to Fight Somaliland, i mean if something is so fragile, u wouldnt say you need such a coalition. So that arguments falls on deaf ears. Furthermore, it is intriguing to observe that individuals such as Firdhiye, who deny the very existence of Somaliland, simultaneously attempt to insinuate themselves into its affairs and engage with its clans. One cannot help but query what tangible benefits Firdhiye and his ilk might derive from their involvement in Somaliland's internal dynamics, given that they do not acknowledge its legitimacy. As for Buur madow he build him self a track record of good will with the puntland clans, he made in the late 1990s peace between jama ali jamaa and abdulahi Yusuf so there are no permanent friends in politics not sure why the likes of the bunker are so scared of this new alliance A for faisal ali waraabe when he calls them after their clan kingdom of the 19 century this is not an insult if you ask me

Somaliland republic has demonstrated a strong commitment to its cause and a willingness to collaborate with any party sharing mutual interests. It is unclear what Firdhhiye or his allies could possibly offer to Ismaïl Omar Guelleh. Guelleh is engaged in a battle SL has already won; he cannot criticise Ethiopia for seeking to free itself from being landlocked or have Naval Base. He cannot openly denounce or oppose Ethiopia, as they hold significant leverage over him. Without Ethiopia, Djibouti's economy would collapse. If Guelleh truly opposed Abiy Ahmed and Ethiopia's interests, he would recall his ambassador from Addis Ababa for further consultations. However, he cannot afford to be perceived by the Ethiopians as opposing them, so his actions remain clandestine ,and his play is behind the curtains. As for the fellow called Firdhhiye, this individual appears to align with whoever provides his daily lunch ,His motives and objectives are unclear. Djibouti's opposition to Somaliland is driven by economic interests, while Mogadishu's opposition stems from envy towards Somaliland, not out of genuine concern for Somali unity, economic interests, or Somali protection. Mogadishu is begging Ethiopia to abandon the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and instead take control of Garacad or Hobyo—so much for Somali unity. The Somali leadership in Jigjiga, ina 'Cagjar,' or Abtigiis as we know him, fully supports the Somaliland-Ethiopia agreement. President Muse Bihi is performing admirably; he has the backing of the elders, the parties, the Guurti, and the parliament. Recently, Suldaan Cismaan Suldaan Cali Suldaan Madar, the esteemed leader of one of the largest clans in Somaliland, publicly addressed the Garaad clan. He warned that conflict would ensue if they do not back down, He made it clear that any individual from the Garaad clan found in Habar Yoonis territory would be considered a target. This stance underscores the resolve and determination within Somaliland traditional Leadership as well as the SL goverment to protect its interests and maintain its sovereignty at all cost .

There is no necessity for conflict in Somaliland , for the people of Awdal are among the most composed and judicious within Somaliland. During the tumultuous Habar Habar wars of the early 1990s, it was they who established the groundwork for the inaugural peace agreement between the two predominant clans. This very act of diplomacy paved the way for the subsequent Conference for Somaliland the Borama conference . As long as figures such as Sultan Dhawal and Sheikh Ali Jawhar remain, the future of Somaliland shall remain secure and prosperous.

Awdal is an integral part of somaliland they are deeply rooted in Somaliland society I can’t imagine aaway that all awdalite communities detach them from somaliland all their elders are on board with Somaliland politicians bussines people every one only the young ugaas who resides in Addis Ababa isn’t on board the Garaad clan were always sceptical with somaliland because they are a whole different clan with different ambitions really who believe their clan interest isn’t met and that they don’t share an ancestry with the rest of somaliland. Where as the duriyad and awdal clan share more then just ancestry they are closer to each other and intertwined though I do agree with galbeedi that awdal didn’t get its fair share of development but allot of region didn’t but it hasn’t got to do with qabil but more with the centralisation formula we have adopted in somaliland and I do believe awdal is one of the strategic places of the horn and in particular in Somaliland

Abiy Ahmed defends Ethiopia-Somaliland MoU amid Somali government protests Thursday July 4, 2024 Mogadishu (HOL) - Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed addressed criticisms from the Somali government regarding Ethiopia's recent agreement with Somaliland, emphasizing Ethiopia's commitment to peaceful resolutions and mutual development. "There is no need to go around other countries to accuse us. We are ready for discussion here in Addis Ababa," Abiy stated, addressing accusations from Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud about the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ethiopia and Somaliland. The agreement, which involves Ethiopia leasing 20 kilometers of Somaliland's Red Sea coastline in exchange for recognizing Somaliland's independence, has been deemed illegal and unacceptable by Somalia. The comments come days after an attempt by Turkey to formally mediate between the two East African neighbours. "It is very simple because we have no fight with the Somali government," Abiy said, noting that the Somali government "chose to go around and accuse us." He added, "My advice is don’t waste money; we spend money when we go around countries. There is no need to go around other countries to accuse us when it is possible to come to us in Addis Ababa. We are ready for a discussion," suggesting that resources could be better spent on development projects within Somalia. "It is very simple because we have no fight with the Somali government," Abiy added. "But Ethiopia has a question, it is difficult to be landlocked with an economy of this size. This is a national interest issue." Ethiopia wants to "reconcile this without lives lost; without insulting each other and without wasting money traveling to [other] countries. If there is a win-win approach for common benefit, the Ethiopian government is always ready to work together. It can’t be a shame when it is Ethiopia’s interest and correct when it is others’ interest," he said. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud recently responded firmly to Ethiopia's actions, emphasizing Somalia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. "Somalia will not accept any agreements that violate our sovereignty," he declared. Referring to the MoU, he stated, "This agreement is illegal and unacceptable. We will not recognize any deal that undermines Somalia's territorial integrity." President Mohamud criticized Ethiopia's approach, saying, "Instead of respecting our borders, Ethiopia has chosen to make deals with breakaway regions. This is a direct affront to Somalia's unity and sovereignty." He expressed hope for a peaceful resolution but remained firm on Somalia's position, stating, "We are committed to protecting our nation's sovereignty. We welcome dialogue, but our stance on the Somaliland issue is non-negotiable." To mediate these tensions, Turkey has facilitated initial talks between Ethiopia and Somalia, which have been described as candid and forward-looking. These discussions are set to continue in Ankara in September. "The Ethiopian and Somali foreign ministers had a candid, cordial and forward-looking exchange," according to Turkey's Foreign Ministry.

What does Somaliland have to do with this situation? Somaliland had no involvement. She acted independently by inviting the former Prime Minister of the bunker who then endorsed her, an action likely not permissible under U.S. law. How are the people of Somaliland responsible for her missteps? Khaire campaigned for Omar (D-Minn.) and encouraged voter turnout for the congresswoman, actions which the American Accountability Foundation (AAF) claims may have violated the Federal Elections Campaign Act. This is indeed contrary to U.S. laws.

Ilhan Omar hit with ethics complaint over appearance with ex-Somali PM 196 SharesFacebookFacebook messengerTwitterWhatsAppLinkedInTelegramPhoneEmail Ryan King Thursday July 4, 2024 A conservative watchdog group hit “Squad” Rep. Ilhan Omar with an ethics complaint Wednesday over an event she took part in last weekend that featured former Somalia Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire. Khaire stumped for Omar (D-Minn.) and pushed to get out the vote for the congresswoman, which the American Accountability Foundation (AAF) claims may have violated the Federal Elections Campaign Act. “We are deeply concerned by Ilhan Omar’s illegal campaign rally with the former Prime Minister of Somalia. Omar already has a long history of statements indicating her disdain for America and allegiance to Somalia, but this goes beyond statements,” AAF said in a statement. “Now her campaign has taken action to involve a foreign leader in an American election. She must resign immediately and return every dollar raised for her at this disgraceful rally.” Omar’s campaign counsel David Mitrani quickly fired back, telling The Post, “This ethics complaint is another attempt by the far-right to smear the Congresswoman.” “Congresswoman Omar’s campaign had absolutely no involvement in requesting, coordinating, or facilitating Mr Khaire’s appearance or his comments, and accordingly there was no violation of law,” he said. AAF asked the Office of Congressional Ethics to open an investigation into Omar and cited two possible infractions. First are accusations that Omar “knowingly” accepted Khaire’s “services” at “her campaign events” which AAF claims went beyond the scope of “the limited volunteer services permitted by a foreign national and involved impermissible decision-making.” Specifically, AAF is alleging that Khaire’s “particularity” in which he engaged in a get-out-the-vote effort for Omar amounted to “prohibited decision-making.” “Support her with your votes, tell your neighbors and friends, and anyone you know to come out and support Ilhan Omar,” Khaire said, according to a translation of his remarks cited by AAF in the complaint. “And knock on every door you can so that she can be re-elected.” Additional footage circulating online showing Khaire huddling with Omar and others while underscoring the importance of her prevailing in the Aug. 13 primary. Khaire also posted a video of his remarks on X. “I participated in the celebration of the 64th anniversary of the independence and unity of Somalia, which took place in Minneapolis. I gave a speech at the forum to participate in the joy and celebration of this historic event,” he wrote, according to Google Translate. Under federal law, candidates are barred from “knowingly soliciting, accepting, or receiving contributions or donations from foreign nationals.” AAF also alleged that Khaire’s “services” to Omar’s campaign “appear to be compensated by a prohibited source.” The conservative group cited a report from NewsChannelNebraska about Khaire headlining the recent 2024 Somali Week Festival. Based on that report, AAF ascertained that the Minneapolis-based nonprofit group Ka Joog may have “sponsored” Khaire’s trip to the US. “Omar’s acceptance of Mr. Khaire’s providing his campaign services indicates that Rep. Omar knowingly accepted a corporate contribution associated with Mr. Khaire’s travel and lodging costs to galvanize an important constituency ahead of her August primary election,” AAF alleged in its complaint. The Post reached out to Ka Joog for comment and to ask whether it actually sponsored Khaire’s trip to the US. The Post was unable to reach Khaire for comment. Khaire, 56, served as the 19th prime minister of Somalia from 2017 until 2020. “Khaire is an extremely popular figure among the Somali diaspora, which is a significant and powerful constituency in Rep. Omar’s district,” AAF added. Omar is facing a difficult primary contest against former Minneapolis City Council member Don Samuels. The primary comes against the backdrop of a broader spate of challenges against members of the so-called “Squad” and a rift among Democrats over the Israel-Hamas war. Omar, who is one of the first two female Muslim-Americans elected to the lower chamber, has been an outspoken critic of Israel’s war against Hamas, criticism that has occasionally crossed the line into antisemtism. The congresswoman was born in Mogadishu, Somalia, and her family received asylum in the US when she was a teenager. Minnesota has the largest Somali population of any state in the country. Earlier this year, Omar became engulfed in controversy over remarks that some translated to, “The US government will do what we tell the US government to do.” “As long as I’m in Congress no one will take Somalia’s sea. And the United States will not support other people to rob us.” The Office of Congressional Ethics is an independent group that monitors conduct in the lower chamber. When it deems necessary, the office will refer matters to the House Ethics Committee for review.
