1. The Jihadists have been defeated the free syran army has lost all credibility and the Nusra front are scattered all over the place and have no cohesiveness and are losing ground. If Hezbolla continues to play a significant role in the logistics it provides to Forces of Asad, with Iranian Intelligence and special forces assisting the armed forces of Asad they can drive out but it will be hard task particularly in the eastern part which is a terrorist nest places such as deir al sour, because thats where the Iraqi terrorists are assisting the Jihadists Hezbollah played a significant role in protecting the border lines and assisting asad forces on the ground where its the most needed.
2. THOUSANDS OF SYRIANS RETURN TO HOMS AFTER REBELS LOSE CITY AP Residents come back to the city once known as the 'capital of the rebellion' May 10, 2014 10:25AM ET Thousands of Syrians streamed into war-battered parts of the central city of Homs on Saturday for the first time in nearly two years, many making plans to move back just days after rebels surrendered their strongholds to pro-government forces. Hundreds of rebels surrendered their positions in Homs to government forces in exchange for their safe passage to the nearby northern countryside as part of a deal that began Wednesday. Some 2,000 rebels endured a nearly two-year blockade and heavy bombing of the area in the city once referred to as the "capital of the rebellion." The surrender deal is widely seen as a victory for President Bashar al-Assad weeks ahead of a presidential election on June 3 that he is expected to win. Assad has promised to continue his violent crackdown on rebels in the Syrian civil war, which activists say has left more than 150,000 people dead. Despite the end of hostilities in Homs, there’s no sign the bloody conflict is getting any more humane, with the United Nations accusing the Assad regime of cutting off medical aid to those in need. Human Rights Watch has said the government specifically targets civilians and hospitals. “Medical supplies are being removed from convoys as part of a strategy to deny the wounded medical care. This is an abomination,” said John Ging, UN director for Syria aid operations, on Friday. “In terms of who is taking the supplies out of the convoys, it’s the government of Syria.” But with the rubble-strewn city cleared of rebel fighters, Syrians fanned through the smashed ancient quarters of Homs. A youth band banging drums and holding photographs of Assad marched through the area, adding a celebratory mood for those supporting his government amid the 3-year-old conflict. Residents scavenged what they could from their homes Saturday, mostly clothes, dusty mattresses and some burned gas canisters, carrying them away in plastic bags and trolleys. "My house was completely destroyed and burned, but I found some photos," said Sarmad Mousa, 49, a resident of the old Hamidiyeh district. "They will remain a memory for me of the beautiful days we had here." Some accused rebels of looting and setting their homes on fire. Smaller crowds made the journey Friday. Other residents were already making plans to stay in their homes, sweeping away rubble and smashed glass from their homes. "God willing, we will sleep in our homes tonight, not tomorrow," one man told Lebanese television station al-Mayadeen. "Even if the homes aren't ready, we are going to help each other build our homes," he said. For rebels, it was a bitter day, said an opposition activist who uses the name Thaer Khalidiya. "The fighters left to rest and get treatment, but they want to return to liberate Homs," he said over Skype. "They want to go back." In Homs, municipal workers began fixing power lines while bulldozers cleared rubble from the street. The Syrian Red Crescent gave clean water, food and candles to residents who wanted to return to their homes, Gov. Talal Barazi said. But danger still lurked in some areas. A man, woman and child have been killed in three separate explosions in Homs after detonating rebel-planted mines left in their homes, Barazi said. At least five military vehicles carrying soldiers searched the area for more explosives. Some citizens rushed to the area of Bustan al-Diwan, gathering to pray around the grave of an elderly, beloved Dutch priest who was shot to death in April in a rebel-held part of Homs. Father Francis Van Der Lugt, 75, was a Jesuit, the same order as Pope Francis. His death underscored fears among many of Syria's Christian and Muslim minorities for the fate of their communities as Islamic extremists gain influence among rebels seeking to topple Assad. "I came to pray on his grave," said Rasim Sayrafi, 40. "The father was a secular man who walked with Muslims and Christians, together and equally. I am here to remember that." Another young Muslim woman wept next to his tomb. "I came here to pray for him," said Nadine Abdul-Aziz, 25, before she went to see her home. "I wish he had lived longer to see the liberated Homs." 3. ^^ You are not HAG stop pretending hahaha Hawdian Detoore loves the Chicken burger
4. Dont matter aslong as Somaliland is not part of Somalia and the people are independent the people of Somaliland will do just fine. Because independence is already reached, and there is nothing the pirates can do . Somalilanders own the Land. The Future looks bright for the people of Somaliland Long live Somaliland and its people
5. @smartlander said: HAG elders have no power. They are merely going back to Mogadishu with a paper from Hassan Sheikh on the farthest he can go. HAG elders are simply just telling UCID what Mogadishu is willing to sacrifice. They have no power. Don't get confused. UCID and HAG elders are being used to soften any tensions. UCID has no power either. They are not governing party. They are all mediators If Somaliland can get 50% of everything, that's fine. If less then they can get lost. They are not in Hargeisa for vacation. They are there for weeks. They are even celebrating May 18 to show appreciation SLand govt is paying hotel and accomodation to HAG elders. Silanyo insisted to pay. Hassan Sheikh offered Anything less than Mogadishu accepting Somaliland Sovereignty is a loss for Somaliland, i dont know what you are thinking Somaliland is not fighting for seats in Xamar. But to join the world nations thats the goal the objective and thats what the people have been fighting for nearly 30 years. And the times has come to sit with Mogadishu in Turkey to sort out a deal it will take a few years before the dust settles but it will be a deal that shake the the entire region or the status quo of hostilities will continue. Somaliland and Somalia have direct channels to talk through and thats through Turkey there is no other route get that through your skull. If the talks in Turkey fail than so be it but there is no other way Elders have no say in here. Ma fahantay i dont know if you are a HAG to sound reasonable to Somalilanders but lets be honest with your self.
6. Detoore Mogadishu and Hargeysa will eventually reach an agreement its just about the timing and working towards a final deal. They have the power, Puntland influences have been cleansed from Mogadishu by Damuljadid. Somaliland already gained momentum and gained more territories in the eastern frontier since cawar came to power in garowe.
7. What powers do these HAG elders have they are just there for a few days fasax and enjoy the fresh air with out the AU troops around them. Dont read to much into it ,they hold no political office in Somalia so their opinion matters little to Somalilanders. The only important thing so far is the Turkey Talks with the Mogadishu government brokered by the International community not odayaal alif iyo ba toona garanayn..
8. Somali president wants aid airlift for towns retaken from rebels BY EDMUND BLAIR MOGADISHU Sat May 10, 2014 12:04pm BST Somalia's President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attends an Extraordinary Summit of Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Heads of State during the African Union summit in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa, January 31, 2014. REUTERS/Tiksa Negeri Somalia's President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attends an Extraordinary Summit of Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Heads of State during the African Union summit in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa, January 31, 2014. (Reuters) - Somalia needs help airlifting basic supplies to towns recently retaken by African Union-led forces because Islamist insurgents who were driven out from those areas are blocking aid convoys, the president told Reuters in an interview. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud accused the Al Shabaab militants of trying to create food shortages in newly "liberated areas" to turn locals against the state - and said the aid would show people the benefit of returning to government control. "This is the Al Shabaab propaganda ... and why they are stopping the movement of goods," he said in Mogadishu after talks with major donors on Friday on speeding up the pace of the rebuilding effort. "(An) airlift is very, very important." African troops working with Somalia's army have completed the first phase of a campaign to retake territory still in Al Shabaab's hands after it was routed from Mogadishu in 2011. But officials said the towns cleared of Al Shabaab militants are in a dire state. Any food stocks have been emptied, driving people away. Some centres look more like ghost towns, said one Western diplomat, which "is not a very positive picture". It highlights the challenge Somalia faces in countering an Islamist insurgency that increasingly involves guerrilla tactics, while trying to build loyalty to central government in a state fractured by clan rivalries and two decades of war. The president said another obstacle to reaching retaken areas was the onset of rains, making poor quality roads impassable even in places Al Shabaab were not operating. He said donors had promised to respond, adding that helicopters were not needed to make a "huge food delivery" but were required for basic nutrition for children and the weak. The World Food Programme was considering contracting a helicopter dedicated to humanitarian needs, as U.N. helicopters in Somalia now have multiple tasks, including logistical support for troops, such as evacuating injured, the diplomat said. Although the first stage of the new campaign launched this year had not met all targets, Mohamud said 3 million people and nine towns had been brought under government control. He said Al Shabaab still controlled "a large proportion of rural areas". Extending control beyond urban centres and into the countryside where rebels easily melt away has been a persistent challenge for African Union peacekeepers, who are still the main bulwark against rebels although Somali troops fight with them. GRUMBLES ABOUT PROGRESS "The second phase of the operation of course will focus on sifting out Al Shabaab even from the rural areas,” Mohamud said. The slow pace of change in the nation and ongoing hardship for many has fuelled criticism of the president, prompting a group of more than 100 lawmakers to submit a petition this week demanding he quit. Security failings were a big complaint. The president rebuffed parliamentary critics, saying new joint operations between Somali security agencies and African forces was breaking down rebel networks in Mogadishu, where a spike in attacks particularly around February included an assault on the presidential palace in the heart of the city. “Security should not be politicised,” he said, adding it was tough to stop all suicide attacks in a city of 2 million people. Mohamud has also been buffeted by criticism of his government's financial management, after two central bank governors quit last year with questions raised about graft in government and the award of some contracts. The government has dismissed reports of corruption. But the president said a new Financial Governance Committee comprising three Somali members and three picked by donors, was restoring confidence. Diplomats said reviewing contracts and offering recommendations on such issues were part of its mission. "International partners showed that they are now more confident in the system than before, and further reforms will be coming in the financial sector," Mohamud said after Friday's talks, adding he hoped for more direct budget support. Qatar and Turkey already provide direct aid to state coffers, but Western donors are more wary. Norway supports budget spending via a facility set up with World Bank help that, one donor source said, could be expanded in coming months. Despite a wobble in international support for Mohamud over financial management concerns in past months, donors at Friday's showed support for the president in his battle with lawmakers, saying Somalia needed continuity at the top. "The idea of delaying everything or stopping everything and changing institutions and people at this stage is not something that any of the international partners were thinking is a very good idea,” said one senior Western diplomat at the talks. Attendees at Friday's talks promised to speed up delivery of projects in several key areas, such as security, humanitarian work and financial management issues, by June in part to help ease public dissatisfaction about the pace of progress. 14. Alshabaab attacks Marka a day after the PM visit there, it seems shabaab is just around the outskirt of the city and its regrouping. Alshabaab takes only on small attacks to keep the Amisom machine at bay while they regroup buy new arms and conscript new recruits. They try to besiege the land in between the big and main cities and cut supply routes and logistics from the AU troops. If you follow Shabaab style of conducting warfare and compare it to Al nusra fighters in Syria those Jihadist try to hold cities fight inside cities and end up losing the city and they end up very poor beaten and waste their ammunition and weapons and the lives of their soldier. Alshabaab strategy is lose a few towns but never lose the war. Where as Al nusra is losing the war.

16. Ciidansultan Somalilanders have learned through out the years to read between the lines and to fully grasp the interest and the message of the Koonfurians. Usually Somalilanders can easily tell whats going on but because Somalilanders and the Koonfurians dont have the same sayings of the Language understanding was difficult. But Today Somalilanders fully understand always read between the lines when you deal with koonfurians. These seems to be elders and SL should welcome them and listen to them they are not politicians, i was listening to Sultaan Xiirey of Hargeysa , he said they will celebrate 18 may with us and than we will send them back home.
17. The garad was tired being in exile and spending times in other Tribes homes and being in abroad all the time , instead of being with his people. Galaydh is hilarious Somaliland ma habaar bay u wax u noqonaysa Somaliland. Raggu ma habaartaman eeh wax bay iska celiyaan. Malaaikta u duceyey

19. Sultan faisal ali waraabe considers Hassan sheikh president of Somalia a failed President and that he cant even rule Merka and Kismayo and that he has no right to speak about Taleex he confirmed what i said earlier that He might have talked to president siilaanyo but he had not spoken to President silanyo about taleex. Sultan Faisal also went on the Mogadishu elders who arrived in Somaliland though he was very cautious on this he said lets wait what they have to say but as the Gob we are reer Somaliland we must welcome them He also said that Somaliland Foreign Policy led by the Kulmiye government is a failure, and with out a strategy. And last but not least he said that the Koonfurians have ruined the Somali image on the world stage because they are leaderless , on the Somali refugees in Kenya he said they have only themselves to blame and they have no government to represent them , and the Kenyans welcomed them and only with a Somalia state that is respected by other Africans they can re gain their image.
20. Pirates are they not proud of piracy they have said before many pirates that they are safe guarding the coast of Somalia they are the coastal guards. I dont see how this is offending, wax xun aah xaajigu ma sheego Puntland rising President siilaanyo supports President hassan and his reign in Somalia freely elected no problem the same way Siilaanyo is happy with Djibouti president Kenyan and Ethiopian leaders. But the pirates are unhappy with Mr Hassan the question is why lol..
