TURKISH PRESIDENT ARRIVES IN SOMALIA January 25, 2015 Mogadishu- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Somali capital, Mogadishu, on Sunday as part of his official visit to the Horn of Africa. erdogan_somaliErdogan was welcomed by Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke, and Turkey’s ambassador to Somalia Olgan Bekar. Turkey’s president decided to visit Somalia despite a bomb exploding near a hotel in Mogadishu where a Turkish delegation was staying. Erdogan and Health Minister Mehmet Muezzinoglu will attend the official opening of a training and research hospital, built by Turkey’s international cooperation agency TIKA. The president is also accompanied by his wife and daughter, Emine and Sumeyye Erdogan, as well as Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci, Science and Industry Minister Fikri Isik, and Forestry and Water Minister Veysel Eroglu.

The European officials frequently visit Somaliland to , second there is nothing the EU can enforce in Somalia even IGAD and Amisom cant enforce anything. You have to understand is its mere lip service the EU and the western powers play in the ears of the Southerners and thats where it ends really. There is nothing wrong with the EU supporting Somalia. But this is about Somaliland. The talks are always in the interest of Somaliland never in the interest of the Koonfurians and bringing in the Europeans in these talks eventually is a positive step also.
