sheh an excellent observation. i been in the UK for the past 3 weeks well its not fair for me to judge however i see that opportunities here are slim and none for somalis the US is much better for education and work from what i hear the people saying. discrimination well UK looks segregated the whites seem racist no one says hi like in US. what the fk are ppl angry for? somalis seem to be stuck in welfare and no moving up. but i believe in the determination and spirit of the individual. conversion between dollar and pound the dollar is half worth the pound shopping aint going damn wasn't america supposed to be #1?

the jealousy is not what bothers me walaalo, and i know what is in jannah is unimaginable, its the mere mention of the sexual desires, the multiple wives for the men,. what you will say is in jannah what ever the being wishes will be given, but nothing of award is mentioned in the Quran for the woman as it is for the man, Tangible goods such as multiple wives for the man are mentioned, what for the women? Other then what ever she wishes, how come no mention, except your worldly husband. its just distrubs me the mention of sex, multiple wives for men, mens sexual desires again i blame it on lack of knowledge your answers can't be beat islamonline, continue with your debate, I am not involved in it just putting my two cents in.

"ma dilo karno mana caayi karno." Cute i say. Anyways Nur, whatever I have to say on this has already been said by the fake women your Didi referred to. I find your policy pretty pathetic and funny to discuss, I neither have the time nor the patience walaalo, as a muslim man “ a sheikh†it would only be just to speak out against the injustices your fellow Somali men commit with this practice but u choose to play the “unfulfilled†card. And I am all for it, but it works both ways I have a huge appetite too, can I get me four husbends to fulfill my needs? You lack objectivity and are well biased; I wouldn't talk to KKK member about race, why would I talk to you about polygamy? salaamz

Bishy raises a good question: Walaal, are you even old enough to discuss this? At what age is right to discuss sex with our children, the risks, pregnancy, diseases? Do Somali parents discuss with their children? Is there even a need to discuss, can this prevent it? Zafir raises good points, everyone has their reasons for not doing the deed weather religious or what have you, and majority who are having sex in our community are in their 20s, the men you sluts! But what about the future, not our generation but our children and the Somali children under 10 now who are in public schools? Children are getting worse, having sex as young as 12 or younger, couldn't this spill over to our community if it hasn't already? In having open relationship with your child about sex, can this honestly make them stay abstinate? What if (big if I know but it can happen), the child says they are sexually active, and their going to do it anyway, need pills? What then? I honestly believe Somali parents are not up to the challenge this society presents. Its time we wise up, if not then God help us I say. Scarlet, the answers I hear walaalo are not for this pg site. Girlfriend talk and the boys we roll with ya know. My intention is to keep this educational if that is possible.

Naden thanks for posting this, I have the same inquiries, but I am afarid our good brothers will label us feminists. Before I get accused of doing the work of Shaytan, let me declare that I am muslim who believes in Islam 300%, and I truly believe this is the only true religion, the best path for women. But I have always had questions, and I blamed my unsatisfication on my lack of knowledge in Islam. Part of me believes that as women, we don't get the better end of the stick even in paradise. Your troubled by that hadith, I have always been troubled by this and the same questions I have I found on islamonline: As-salamu `alaykum. Some traditional Muslims believe that Muslim men will be rewarded with 70 houris specially created for them and two believing women from this life. This is very demeaning and offensive to all women.__A question comes to my mind at this point. Why would God cause jealousy between husband and wife on this earth when He promises to give the same cause of jealousy (multiple wives) in Heaven to one gender (man) as a reward? Who put love, mercy, and affection between the spouses? It is sad to find that in traditional Muslim literature the concept of Heaven is a place specially created for men; there is no equality between men and women.__For men, Heaven is simply an extension of the earth where they established control and dominance over women through legitimizing unsanctioned polygamy and unlimited sex with females. One man's Heaven is a woman's Hell. This is supported by scholars, as a majority of them state that Paradise is a place of fulfillment of desires, and men-being prone to polygamy-will receive this as a reward.__My question is, how is it possible that Allah Almighty will grant the fulfillment of the desires of the male but not of the female-that is, to not share her husband with multiple women? A male martyr will receive 70 wives, but if a female servant of Allah dies for Jihad fisabillillah, she will still be required to share her husband with other wives. This concept is very discouraging and offensive towards Muslim sisters.I personally feel like crying because it seems that no matter how hard I work to please Allah, even go as far as giving up my life for Allah Almighty, my reward will not be equivalent to that of a male servant. I found the answers to her question by the sheikh unsatisfactory, and I blame it on my lack of knowledge and I ask for Allah's help but this troubles me as woman. And I agree, no answers would be found here or places such as this, you will be called feminist or what have you:rolleyes: web pageislamonline

Response to Jay Azmaya, There is nothing wrong with building your homes and empowering your people. Who said there was walaalo? Would you feel better if Somaliland was in the same situation as the rest of Somalia? No walaalo, u misinterpret my statements. I am against division of Somalia & the constant push down our throats of “somaliandâ€. Imagine if Somaliland was sitting there waiting for Somali warlords to get their act together for the last 15 yrs? I think Somaliland people deserve to be acknowledged of their hard work. Never mentioned waiting and not improving the region that is progress that I not only welcome but support strongly. As far as political side of the equation goes, you’re entitled to your opinion. You just can’t say somebody doesn’t exist just because his or her political position is different from yours. Walaalo, surprised I am entitled to my opinion on this site & opposing views to “Somaliland†are not censored in here, since the way I see it this is pushed in politics section on this forum & and no strong presence of a call for unity, or the views of people from other regions is no where to be found here. Never said “somebody†doesn’t exist, I said “Somaliland†doesn’t. It is region, not a country. Have a great day. You do the same walaalo. salaamz Nasir:  better expression

Responses: Nameless and Azmaya: WAKE UP: i would rather Somali divided and moving forward or at least showing signs of development in some parts, rather than united in name and a failed state for the next 100years. Azmaya you are an idealist. Ibtisam, nope not an idealist, I am the type of gal who believes in one land, one people, one deen, one flag, united from east to west, north to south in peace, most of us feel that way. Let it be progress in any region, I am not against that walaalo I want nothing more then progress for Somalia, I am against division into countries based on regions. Lord how many times do I have to repeat myself. And let me tell you honey, you do distinguish between people, if not you would not be denying the identity of a whole region. Unity is based on equality and respect, something that is lacking in somali's, and reflected in people like you. And let me tell you honey, what is the identity of that whole region? There are different qabils who reside in that region-but that identity of the whole region belongs to only one? Just as I am against a Jewish state built on racism & derision for other races, I am against an Ethnic State, not built on equality & respect but on racism & division. You don’t know me so don’t get it twisted. in any case using the term Somaliland has nothing to do with qabill it is region, which was always called Somaliland. Everyone should build their own back yard and stabilising before you start dreaming about a greater "somalia" only thing Somalia is known for is war, famine, malnutrition and disease. It is this cycle you should be trying to break, not people's identity. Sweetie, “Somaliland†has everything to do with qabil, do some research before you speak. It seems your having hard time understanding. Let me repeat again: Against dividing Somalia into countries based on qabil, since in all regions are predominantly qabil based, NOT identities of certain groups. And I do plan to help my people-SOMLIA inshallah. Its very pathetic to label me or anyone against division of Somalia as anti “somaliland†or qabilayste no we believe in the unity of the country & peaceful coexistance. Salaamz

I did walaalo LayZieGirl, discussion was the intention. Someone finally gets it, Oh Lord I thought SOL was a cult there for minute. Repsonse to diggy I usually dont do this but Lets keep it real. Let me ask you few questions to get the conversation started. If people do it' does that make it a norm for muslims ? to the point that they openly discuss it with the opposite sex? Non it doesn’t that was not the intention, discussion was. Walaalo hurto the question about the first night was to test the waters, I am not a shy gal and that doesn’t make moi any less modest or religious, If u or others think it, so be it, I aint here to make friends, I keeps it real. Modesty is very important in Islam & to me, but to the point that we are shy to discuss issues like this openly and make topics such as this taboo is not Islamic & counterproductive. Do you blush or feel awkward to say sex, penis, or vagina, or does this make u any less modest or a religious Muslim? We are aware the Prophet himself discussed sex openly, yet the very self-proclaimed “holy†people today can’t even say the name of the subject. What's that suppose to mean' Unless you are married. in that case..discuss it with your husband or wife. If not then just cuz people are sinning (while aware)..lets discuss the sins openly? I thought as Muslims we are suppose to order good and forbid evil. and sex before marriage is evil..am i right? Also if you want real information, there is always a doctor or sheikh who is expert in the questions that you have....if that is what u looking for  Hurto, who is advocating sex before marriage here or sins here, not moi. Discussion walaalo amongst us, how do u correct something if you don’t know the ills of it or know how others in our “holy†Somali community look at it. Most know the disease before you can cure it. I dont want information about sex, I was looking for exchanges amongst us better then talk with sheik or doctor. Believe moi not for my benefit, but other viewers. I’ve heard messed up shit from some in our closet community, and am positive likes of them view SOL. Ok' It looks like you are not interested in getting information about sex' but just you want to know how others do it! Walaalo, that question was testing the waters, & the answers I heard were crazy hilarious. but I can see yall are uptight bunch so save it, I could care less of how people do it-uff that info is not of interest, how many times can I repeat: discussion. We Can have a discussion without being untasteful. Objection your honor!..... that is too personal. Personal eh?, no knows u even if they do know u who gives shit what people think? Yall want to keep the topic on the down low, fine by moi. Save it & move on I am tired of repeating myself. Salaamz

Rudy brotha, I hit LA many times where yall at, the malias? Love LA & san Diego hot hot. Yall, it aint that I want to know what sex is, the subject doesn’t bother me but I know it bothers many many malis as scarlet stated the reasons. I wanted to put the subject out there and discuss it between the men & women openly here, as I can see SOL aint up to it, there is no need to be distasteful when talking about the subject I am not talking about the act-but our views, misconceptions, what we hear, how we feel about it as men and women. Some may be too shy in the real world to ask questions, but I think its useful information to know how the opposite sex views the subject matter, ect. I was looking for a discussion between the opposite sex on here about the subject, moral, medical, religious, views, misconceptions, questions, or what have u. But it is fine hush hush, and lets ignore the topic, what better venue then here to know how Somali men & women view the topic. I guess I will start, from a conversation: First nite together, if the girl doesn’t feel comfortable in having sex, how do u feel as a man? What if she doesn’t feel comfortable in the first week, ect what to do guys? U wouldn’t believe what some of the boys said, what do yall say? Ps: we know the act is big no no before marriage. People still do it while they know it is wrong n that’s there business, if u want to discuss how islam views sex more then welcome, but “holy" folks let those of us who live in the real world and still keep our Islam discuss it how we want it, everyone’s deeds is between him and Allah, save it. Merci in advance. and thanks Scarlet walaalo, good luck to u & all of yall.

I am not here be nasty. but suit yourself if u think I am being nasty really don’t care. But why do we as Somalis find it difficult to talk about sex? What is wrong with talking about sex? Its human nature, discussed openly by the Prophet. If this subject is kept hush hush, where do you think the young will get their information? We are not in Somalia, sex is everywhere in the west. I plan to be an ob/gyn, therefore the human anatomy or sex is no big deal to me to discuss, even with the opposite sex. What’s the big deal I ask you? Are you guys brave enough to talk about sex?

Walaalo Jay, what is wrong with Somalia is division, qabilnimo. I am 200% against it because I believe in unity not division. I don’t agree with saying Somaliland, Djibouti or what have u, but Hargesya Somalia, Djibouti Somalia, that’s my outlook. I have nothing against the North all Somalis are the same to me I am against dividing Somalia and making nation states out of it, which is continually pushed in here n elsewhere. No one is hating, God knows I want all somalian people to succeed, stop the killing & qabilnimo and build so we can return to wadankaani hooyo.

People are starving due to the climate coupled with bad governance and misplaced priorities. One can only do so much. Pray for them as its clearly not in our control. walaalo, defeatist mentality eh? Blame it on the climate, and bad governance, all we can do is pray, its not in our control yadya yadya.. Pleaze, save it. Everything is in Allah’s Hands but Allah says he won’t change people’s condition until they change it themselves. What is stopping African’s from improving themselves, why most they be stuck in poverty, corruption, & misery, because they are lazy, look at the black neighborhoods in America, Africa is a continent with a population of a lazy bunch-that’s my outlook on it, as always there are exceptions. The whole 'blacks/africans are lazy' thing is futile when Africa is mostly in debt and regulated by western powers who are at the same time enabling us to sit in our comfy homes and criticise our people from a safe distance while nipping to kitchen for a bottle of Evian! Hurto, the West forces the African governments to take loans from IMF, world bank? Lets also blame the West for making Africans to kill each other like animals with axes, guns, lets blame the west for the Aids epidemic, lets blame the west for the cancer of Qabil which killed hundreds of thousands, lets blame the west for corruption of leaders, anarchy, lets blame the West for the droughts and misfortunes, u get the drill? Save it, blame is Africans alone. Where ever the black race is they are stuck in miserable conditions, exceptions exist. And speak for yourself walaalo, I have chosen a path where I plan to help my people for fisabilillah. and I am involved in helping now with the drought and have been active since high school nor do I sit in my comfy seat watching movies nor can I tolerate it because my dadnimo iyo muslinimo doesn’t allow it. I believe in the power of people who are united with a mission, unfortunately I am unable to see that in the ethnic group of Somalis and the African people in general. salaamz

and please be extremely cautioned that I am in no way trying to create conflict and arguments among the nomads in here, so please give your opinion and move on. Oh really? Is that your intention how considerate of you thanks for the pictures (but my comment probably better left unsaid now). but i say have backbone, stand up for your beloved somaliland  Its not good to flip flp, I mean can u get any more frank about your intentions The Red Sea , From: Hargeysa, Somalistan  O Lord, I don't mean to disrupt your happy community, stop kidding yourselfs, be FRANK! I BELIEVE IN UNITED SOMALIA! NOT somalistan, puntlandstan, kismyostan, or what have u I tend to have big mouth n too many opinions, I can't help it boys. salaamz

ibtisam sweetie and it doesn't exist and never will He can say its not political but it is political hence his use of "somaliland". Salaamz, and yall enjoy.

This is a good example of junior high school level sophistry...This is the sort of "emotional rollercoaster" and "wishful thinking" far removed from the realities on the ground that Faysal Diriye was talking about here when he says "...the rest of the article, usually, describes the author's emotions--a river of tears ". Since you and your ilk think the author's call for unity, dialogue, building a better country for all somalians is an "emotional rollercoaster, wishful thinking, and a river of tears", how about the gun of the barrel? salaamz

The Red Sea did you make a typo brother, did u mean Somalia Picture Gallery  . There is no such thing as somaliland, poor baby. Oh Lord, say it enough and you start to believe it is that it? salaamz

STOIC bro, salaamz hurto. No one is hating blacks, when i say niggers its the mentality and not the race, I would be including the many bright individuals that are doing something. African's are pathetic species I say, inshallah their mentality will change, somalis are a prime example especially the men who sit in cafes discussing history, reer hebal blah blah when our ppl are drinking urine, dying! Pathetic! prime example of what nigger means. to answer your questions stoic: excuses! Africa is rich habitat. with people who are well plain lazy. salaamz

its midnight, do you know where your husband is? Of course he is in Somaliland, or Somalia, may be Nairobi, or UAE. Do you realize the high probability of Rer Qansax approaching your hubby with a marriage proposal from his own abti offering his daughter to your hubby for marriage? his smiling lil ina abti serving him tea and cookies dressed in her Eid outfit asking him if he likes what he sees? e-Nuri Stats are not out yet, but for every hubby away from his western residing Xaliimo, chances are that the temptation of another wedding is very high ( (if he is a non smoker, non drinker, non chewer ), if he is a wadaad, thats is another story. So, whats da plan? This problem haunts many Xaliimos in the west, the best way to cope with it is to find a way to insure your hubby forever? or in other words to insure your own happiness and sanity. e-Nuri offers several policies to choose from: 1. Dhiker Policy This policy insures your husband that nothing bad will happen to him, ( Another Marriage isnt necessarily bad ) , the more Dhiker you make, the better you will feel, to the point that you find enjoyment in Dhiker that you can never get from the company of your hubby. 2. Dedication-to-A Cause Policy You can join e-Nuri staff, help publish good articles, resend good inspirational posts to those sick souls around you, and find company and happiness in helping other Halimo's gain their sanity back after losing their hubby to anothet younger xaliimo back home. 3. Love-Of-Allah policy By far this is the most secure policy, no Xaliimo who ever bought this policy felt jealous, after all, once the love of Allah fully occupies your heart, there is no space left for any Faarax to hurt you. The pain you go through in jealousy is a form of punishment for not loving Allah SWT. Love of Allah SWT is really cool, try it, wallahi, you will feel sorry for those who have not felt this high state of Devine love which dwarfs all of your worries. Nur 2006 e-Nuri Social Isnurance No More Tears Wait, wait. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaa. I can’t stop laughing, Oh Lord have mercy. Wait, haaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Haahaaaaaaahaaaaaaaa. This is toooooo funny. Is u serious about this policy, this is a joke this has be joke Nur. O Lord I can’t stop laughing, just when I started to think otherwise I read this. And Nur its almost always the wadaads that are polygamse. And read this O lord: They definately need to have a policy towards that inevitable reality, to make sure they reduce the burden of their forthcoming ordeals. O lord yall is too funny, inevitable reality? Miskeen. The somali men in da west who seek another wifey in somali are most likely these, which one are u: old & horribly fulhumo uff, useless garbage, handicapped therefore hooyo takes u to badiyo to get a wifey, wadaad (always the wadaads aint it), ect am sure others can add the list is tooooo long. Walaalo we in the west will be more then aight, cause yall can’t handle us and run to Somali to find a doormat passive poor girl who u can impress with ur minimum wage paycheck from the warehouse or driving a taxi uff-I say ta ta to u n the likes of u, doesn’t mean there is a shortage of educated, respectful, Somali and other Muslim men (by the way are soo in luv w/ us)-who put family first as Islam orders not their piece of equipment. So, whats da plan u asked? We are too strong of species as Somali women walaalo, believe me my man knows where I stand on the issue. Plan is simple if polygamy ever results (God help him), its murdaaa or castration which ever one he deems better. In seriousness, I don’t and will never ever depend on a man no matter how much I love him or trust him, I will always stand by my two feet, n shit I look to damn good. Insure your husband happens in a different department n likewise I need to be insured and satisfied as well shieeet, let me say it again shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. salaamz yall
