  1. Mz Practical no offense taken thanks for your reply this was simply a thread for us to discuss our societies issues. Thanks a lot mz Always learning but when divorce occurs it’s important that RESPECT is established for the sake of the children. Always this is exactly what i was trying to say. Thank Ngonge Like the sister above said, divorce is something that happens in many societies. In ours however, it seems to happen more and more.quote the problem is increasing like you said. All the questions that you brought the table is what we need to ask our selves which are what is the solution? Is it education? How would you educate that huge number of people in one go? What if they already know it’s wrong (which most do anyway)? Is it a matter of awareness then? How would you make people more aware? How would you instil long forgotten or ignored values in them? Would you ask every mother, father, teenage children, old men and women to come to SOL and read all these threads so they would remember their responsibilities? Would you go around Somali houses like a Jehovah’s Witness and try to “convert” them? Would you mention it to the Imams in the mosques and request that they dedicate the Friday sermons to these problems? We’re scattered all over the world but our problems are still the same. I think we should adress all of these issues to better understand them. Ngonge i love your ideas right on the spot bring it on
  2. bye a economic car will be my only choice if the gas price goes higher thanks nomad Lakkad
  3. "Allah will certainly aid those who aid His (Cause). Lo! Allah is Strong, Almighty." [surah al-Hajj: 40] Let me pose a question to you. How many Muslims are actively helping, in whatever way, to alleviate and aid the suffering Muslims of this Ummah? Most Muslims? 20 Million? 10 Million even? 1 Million? Are YOU part of that number helping? Are your friends and family? Muhammad (salAlahu alayhi wasalam) has said; 'Whoever cares for his brother's need, Allah will care for his need' [sahih al-Bukhari, Muslim; 4958, Mishkat al-Misbah] Also, 'Whoever removes anxiety of a Muslim, Allah will remove his anxiety on the Day of Resurrection' [sahih al-Bukhari, Muslim; 4958, Mishkat al-Misbah] In keeping with the tradition of our Beloved Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam); who always gave the needy means of access to earn a livng, for example, rather than easy charity, there is a real need to adapt and implement this same method today. Of not just giving that zakat every year, and then fulfilling your obligations, but rather taking a more concerted effort to try and address the real issues and sufferings felt by many muslims and non-Muslims around the globe. One day Prophet Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) noticed a Bedouin leaving his camel without tying it. He asked the Bedouin, "Why don't you tie down your camel?" The Bedouin answered, "I put my trust in Allah." The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) then said, "Tie your camel first, then put your trust in Allah" [at-Tirmidhi] Allah Ta'ala decrees all things, and nothing happens without His Will. However, this doesn't mean that we should become complacent and lazy in othe situations, problems and hardships face. Muslims are to be ACTIVE people. Many Muslims have a great deal of zeal and passion in wanting to try and help their heavily burdened fellow muslim brothers and sisters in Islam. But often today; even with this beautiful passion, many are left feeling hopeless and in despair at not actually doing anything which they feel will help. However, this is most certainly not the case! So what exactly can Muslims do to help those oppressed Muslims (and non-Muslims) living in areas such as Palestine, Kashmir, Chechnya, Iraq, Afghanistan? 1.Make du'a Du'a is one of the strongest and leathal weapons that a believer has. Allah hears all the du'as that are made to Him, and hears the weeping of the distressed and oppressed, and accepts those who repent to Him. Nothing can avert the qadr (destiny) except du'a. So make fervent Du'a. In the times when it is most likely to be heard; such as after praying, between the Adhan and Iqama, in the last 1/3 of the night. Also using the correct adab and manners which are best for making du'a; such as facing the Qibla, being persistent, when in wudu. Beg unto Allah Ta'ala; to alleviate the hardships faced by those in Palestine, Kahsmir, Iraq and so on. To bring them ease, peace and Allah's Rahma. For safety, blessings and victory over the merciless oppressors and killers. Also see: Du'a for Justice & against Oppression. 2. The Qunut al-Nazila Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) is recorded to have recommended the recitation of this du'a if a major disaster or difficulty befalls on the ummah, at critical times. al-Nazila means 'great calamity' It is recommended to be recited especially in the coures of the dawn (Fajr) prayer, and can be found in Sahih al-Bukhari; #1002 اللهم اهدنا فِيمن هدَيْت، و عافِنا فِيْمنْ عافَيت، و تَوَلَّنَا فِيْمَنْ تَوَلَّيت، و بارك لَناَ فِيْما أعطَيْت، و قِنَا و اصْرِفْ عنّا شَرَّ ما قَضَيْت، فَإنَّك تُقْضِى عَلَيْك، إنّهُ لا يذ~لُ مَنْ ولَيْتَ و لا يَعِزُ مَنْ عادَيْت، تبارَكْتَ رَبّنا و تَعالَيْت، لك الشُكْرُ عَلَى ما أعْطَيْت، نَسْتَغْفِرُك اللهُم مِنْ جَمِيْعِ الذُنُوبِ و الخَطايا و نَتُوبُ إلَيْك Allahumma ahdina fiman hadait, wa 'afina fiman 'afait, wa tawallana fiman tawallait, wa barik lana fima a'tait, wa qina wasrif 'anna sharra ma qadait, fainnak taqdi wa la yuqda 'alaik. Innahu la yadhillu ma walait wa la ya'izzu man 'aadait , tabarakta Rabbana wa ta'alait, lakal-hamdu 'ala ma qadait, wa laka shukru 'ala ma a'tait, mas-taghfiruka. Allahumma min jamee'i dhunubi wal khataaya, wa natubu ilaik (O Allah! Guide me among those You guide. Grant me health and pardon among those You grant health and pardon, look after e among those You look after, grant me grace in what have given me, and protect me from the evilof what you have ordained; for You decree and none decrees against You, and none is abased whom You befriend. And none is exalted whom You are at enmity with. O our Lord, who is above all things sacred and exalted, all praise is Yours for what you decree. I ask Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance) 3. Take part in Campaigns and Justice/freedom Rallies. There are MANY events, campaigns, demonstrations and Organisations which try and help lessen the sufferings of Musims around the world, oppsing wars and so on. From participating in anti-War peace Campaigners, to picketing, to boycotting the products of those who launch attacks against Islam and Muslims. There are many; so if you feel that you can make a positive impact here, then don't procrastinate, and do make a concerted effort. Remember what the Islamic guidelines and correct adab and decorum are in such activities; and take care not to go over them. Sign and organise petitions, send in protest letters/e-mails to try and dissuade people from senselessly killing and hurting Muslims, join active organisations which try and help alleviate sufferings in humanity. Write to companies if you decide to boycott them and explain to them our actions, using courtesy and good reasoning. Please do and perform whatever is within your capability. You can also contact your local MPs (members of Parliament) and/or government elected representatives to tell them what the country's stand should be with regard to a certain issue, informing them of particular issues which are being treated unfavourably, and asking them to account for their stance on certain matters; accounting for their actions. 4.Salat al-Hajah Through salah/namaz, we are resorting to Allah seeking His protection to remove oppression and aggression against those who are oppressed. Muslims are ordained to offer Salat al-Hajah (two voluntary rakahs) for fulfilling any kind of need. So, if offering prayer for a personal need that belongs to one person is legitimate, then with greater reason people can gather to offer Salat al-Hajah for a matter that belongs to the whole Ummah. It is reported on the authority of Abu ad-Darda (radiAllahu anhu) that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: 'If any one of you performs the ritual ablution and offers two voluntary rakahs consciously, then Almighty Allah will fulfill his/her need either instantly or later.' [Ahmad] After offering two rakahs, one should praise Allah, invoke His blessings on the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) and say the following du'a: áÇ Å`áåó ÅáøóÇ Çááøåõ ÇáúÍóáöíãõ ÇáúßÑöíãõ¡ ÓõÈúÍóÇäó Çááøåö ÑóÈøö ÇáúÚóÑúÔö ÇáúÚÙöíã¡ ÇóáúÍãúÏõ áöáøåö ÑóÈøö ÇáúÚóÇáóãíöäó¡ ÃÓúÃáõßó ãõæÛöÈóÇÊö ÑóÍúãóÊößó æóÚóÒóÇÆãó ãóÛúÝöÑóÊößó¡ æóÇáúÚöÕúãóÉ ãöäú ßõá ÐóäúÈò¡ æóÇáúÛóäíöãóåó ãöäú ßõáøö ÈÑøò¡ æóÇáÓøóáóÇãóÉó ãöäú ßõáøö ÅËúãò¡ áóÇ ÊóÏóÚú áì ÐóäúÈðÇ ÅáøóÇ ÛóÝóÑúÊóåõ¡ æóáóÇåóãøðÇ ÅáøóÝóÑøÌúÊóåõ æóáÇÍóÇÌóÉð åöìó áóßó ÑöÖðÇ ÅáøóÇ ÞóÖóíúÊóåóÇ íóÇÃÑúÍóãó ÇáøóÇÍöãöíäó¡ La ilaha illaAllahu-Haleemul-Kareem. SubhanaAllahi rabbil-arshil adheem. AlHamdulilahi rabbi ilAalameen. As'asluka mujibaati Rahmatika, wa azaa'ima maghfiratika, wal-'ismata min kuli dhanb, wal ghaniimata min kuli birr, was-salaamata min kuli ithm. La tada'li dhanban illa ghafartahu, wala hamman illa farajtahu, wala hajatan hiya laka ridan illa qadaytaha Ya 'arhama arRaahimeen (There is no God but Allah, the Ever-Clement, the Most Generous. I celebrate the Glory of Allah, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne. All Praise and Thanks are due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. I beseech You seeking that which will draw me closer to Your Mercy, and that which will make certain for me Your Forgiveness. O Allah, Grant me protection against any sin, and a share of every virtue. Do not leave me a sin without forgiving it, a worry without relieving me of it, or a need that meets with Your Pleasure without providing for it, O Most Merciful Lord.) Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, has stated: "Du'a is legalized for trials and misfortunes afflicted on the Ummah. So Muslims are allowed to invoke Allah to remove their calamities and to grant them victory over their enemies. We have Salat al-Hajah that is legalized in such cases and conditions, so people are allowed to gather and to offer prayer and make du`a’ in critical situations. Almighty Allah says: "Seek help in patience and prayer…" [surah al-Baqarah; 2:44] 5. Sadaqah/Charity We have a beautiful example of the companions of the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) helping their fellow brothers and sisters in Islam. When Muslims immigrated from Makkah to Madinah, Al-Ansar (the helpers, ie the Muslims of Madinah) accommodated the Muhajirun (the emigrators) and supported them and helped them in every possible way. The Ansar supported and loved them; they took them into their homes, and fed them the food that they ate, the places that they slept. We should learn from this great example, and help our suffering Muslim brothers and sisters in Islam in the same way, fi-sabillilah. Providing all the humanitarian aid that you can. Give what money you can, send what clothes, food you are able to do so. Sponsor an Orphan, contribute towards people's medical expenses. "…And whatsoever you spend (for good) He replaces it. And He is the Best of Providers." [surah Sabah: 39] 6. Fast Try and keep nafil (voluntary) fasts when you can. remember that it was the sunnah of our Beloved prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) to keep fast on Mondays and Thursdays. Fast to gain closeness with Allah Ta'ala. Make more du'a when fasting, and remember to make du'a for the suffering Muslims when breaking your fast; because this is the time when a du'a is not rejected. 7. Promote and Raise Awareness Many individuals, both Muslim, and non-muslim are not aware of the extent of the harsh inhumane sufferings of many Muslims around the world. Why not make a concerted effort to try and raise awareness of thse issues in your local communities? Talk to everyone who is willing to listen. Talk to your neighbors and friends. Tell them what is going on. Misinformation and ignorance is one of the main reasons that wars are waged and injustices are in place. Make people aware of what is happening in the world, and encourage them to learn and understand about similar things as well. Send out and distribute leaflets, organise talks and lectures, have teas and dinners, invite people to your local masjid/community centre, organise inter-faith meetings, collect money for charities. Encourage and promote ideas and action for peace and harmony; and against oppression and wars and hardships. 8. Monitor the Media One of the most ruthless sources for misinforming the situation of the suffering of Muslims around the world is done by the media. Many a time, you may come across articles, programmes, magazines and such which are being openly Islamophobic, and putting forward false ideas and biases against Muslims. Keep a close eye on these sorts of things, and write into the newspapers, magazines and radio programmes to counter-act the biased comments and articles. Did a speaker say something incorrect about the suffering of some Muslims? Speak out against it. You dont need to be a genius to write one e-mail, it only takes a minute of your time! Most Organisations can offer help in how to format letters, sample e-mails, running petitions, etc as well. There are a number Muslim organisations and lobbies which monitor Islamophobic media coverage. You can view a list of them in the links page. Organise collected phone ins into media groups and radio stations, ask them to account for certain biased reportings, to report on issues which you feel are being neglected and over-looked. 9. Khutbahs Jum'ah (Friday) Khutbahs (sermons). Ask and encourage your local Imam or Khateeb to cover the issues which are affecting the Ummah as a whole. Either specific issues and the lessons that can be learnt from them, etc, or anything else that pertains to it (ie peroforming more du'a, salat al-Hajah, qunut al-Nazila). This will, as well as raise awareness, be a good reminder to Muslims of the situation of the rest of the Muslim world and what actions can be taken, and what we should understand and learn from them. Jum'ah is the time when most Muslims attend the Masjid; so it is one of the prominent times in which messages about helping, aiding and (insha'Allah) regenerating the Ummah can be heard. History sadly bears witness to repeating itself many a time; seemly indicating that lessons are never learnt from the past. 10. Increase your Ibadah (worship) Seekf Istighfar (forgiveness), perform more nafil acts of worship (such as salah - Tahajjud, Duha, etc). Make more Dhikr and remember Allah Ta'ala Much. Allah Ta'ala hears those most closest to Him, and one is more likely to have their du'as answered if they refrain from committing sins and remaining steadfast and gain closeness to Allah with their ibadah. Be worthy of calling yourself a Muslim. Contemplate on the sufferings that the Ummah is facing today and beg Allah Ta'ala for His Divine Help and assisstance. Remember to hold fast to the deen, not separate, and forget all the internal differences. Times of hardship, especially, should not be occassions where Muslims argue amongst themselves. As an English proverb goes; 'divide and conquer' 11. Arm Yourself Be an informed muslim. Be aware of current events, world history, both Islamic, and others. Read up on relevant books and topics - democracy, Islamic social, political, economic system. Learn what has be said in the past, and what oppressors today put forward. Many times the ideas put forward by Fir'aun (in the time of Musa (alayhis salam), for example, can be said to be similar to modern leaders today. Know answers and reasons for your stance on matters, and why others say what they do. I urge you to please do whatever you can - big or small, nothing is insignificant. Remember what Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said; 'The example of the Believers in their mutual love, mercy and compassion is like the example of a single body; if one part of the body feels pain, then all the body suffers in sleeplessness and fever' He (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) also said that even the smallest good deed is significant. You do not need to send thousands and thousands of pounds/dollars or tons of food in order to make a difference. Do whatever is within your capability. Most importantly, Allah Ta'ala knows the intentions of your heart and rewards you accordingly. By mani

Then we are not fulfilling our rights as muslims. This is from suratul Bakarah [2.11] And when it is said to them, Do not make mischief in the land, they say: We are but peace-makers. [2.224] And make not Allah because of your swearing (by Him) an obstacle to your doing good and guarding (against evil) and making peace between men, and Allah is Hearing, Knowing. May Allah Have mercy on all of us.

They ARE constantly arguing, fighting over everything. Fighting and swearing infront of the kids. No respect for each other what so ever. AM JUST WONDERING WHY CAN'T WE JUST EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE DIVORCED and yes the bitterness is there why can't they just get along for the kids sack. 15. salaam Walahi am so mad this is human rights abuse. We should all fight against this. How dare they. In Baghdad, Abdel Wadoud Muhbal, a currency trader, said "Pimps... don't do what the Americans do. Who takes a bearded man, a Muslim, and lays him down with his face in another man's genitals?" "They came to destroy Islam, and what they are doing to the Palestinians they now do to us -- throw us in prison, rape us and try to destroy our honor," said Muhbal, an officer of the Saddam-era army Washington dissolved before recruiting its senior figures to help rein in a guerrilla uprising. by a fellow iraqi walahi i swear this is not going to stop here they will here about me. I am going to the local news. I will write papers. Ya Allah Please help us.
  16. salaam "O You who believe! Have taqwa with Allah, and be among the truthful." (Surat al- Tawbah:119) to deceive the believers. If you are in a situation that would cause you to lie, avoid doing so, and remember the words of Abu Sufyaan before Heracles when he was asked about the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam) and he [latter narrated to Muhammad sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam], "I swear by Allah, if I was sure that they would not have transmitted a lie from me, I would have lied about you." [bukhari] This man, who was an idolater at the time, avoided lying out of fear that his lying would be transmitted, or that he would be insulted some day because of it. Elegant sweet words are not most important - even if they are required - more important is truthfulness, that he is in harmony with himself, and his speech comes from the heart. Long ago it was said: "If a word comes from the heart it will land in the heart... and if it comes from the tongue it will not even pass the ears!!" i hope this helps like its said truth shall set you free. good luck

He is off limits to me not matter what.... its cruel but hey he has a wife and arrange or not he is still married. oky well may be becoming the second wife? it depends the person On the issue of four wives the Qur’an states: “And if you fear that you can not act equitably towards orphans, then marry such women as seem good to you, two and three and four; but if you fear that you will not do justice (between) them, then (marry) only one or what your right hands posess; this is more proper; that you may not deviate from the right course” (Nisa 4: 3). good luck
  20. Assalamu alaikum Brothers and sisters Patience is a virtue This is the dunya eventually we will all face test from Allah. Its is very important to be patient. I wish you all happiness amin Tests from Allah by Sheikh Khâlid Husayn Allah tells us that we will be tested. He also makes it clear to us what is expected from us when we undergo these trials and what our reward will be if we are successful. He says: “Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods, lives and the fruits (of your toil) but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. Those who, when misfortune strikes them, say: ‘Indeed we belong to Allah and to Him is our return. Those are the ones upon whom are blessings and mercy from their Lord and it is those who are rightly guided.” [sûrah al-Baqarah: 155] The Prophet (peace be upon him)said: "No fatigue, illness, anxiety, sorrow, harm or sadness afflicts any Muslim, even to the extent of a thorn pricking him, without Allah wiping out his sins by it." [sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim] In another narration, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “No Muslim is afflicted by harm, whether it is but the prick of a thorn or something worse, without Allah expiating his evil deeds on account of it and his sins falling away from him like leaves off a tree.'" [sahîh al-Bukhârî] The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When Allah desires good for someone, He tries him with hardships." [sahîh al-Bukhârî] The Muslim may be tested by all sorts of difficulties like sickness, lack of income, and disobedience from his children. In fact, the many afflictions that may beset a person are incalculable. This is the point that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was stressing when he mentioned: “fatigue, illness, anxiety, sorrow, harm or sadness …even to the extent of a thorn pricking him”. All of these afflictions, if endured patiently by the believer, are a means of attaining Allah’s forgiveness as well as His reward. Every one of us is being tested by Allah. He tests us all in different ways. We should not assume that the difficulties that we face in life are punishments or are signs that Allah is displeased with us. Likewise, we should never construe the success and pleasures that others enjoy as signs that Allah is pleased with them or that they are privileged. Sometimes, quite the opposite is true. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “If Allah wants good for his servant, He hurries on His punishment in this world, and if He wills ill for a servant, he holds back punishing him for his sin so He can give it to him in full on the Day of Resurrection.” Allah makes it clear that everything in our lives – the good and the bad of it– is a trial for us. How will we cope in the situation that Allah has placed for us? Will we be grateful in prosperity and patient in affliction or will we be arrogant and disobedient? Allah says: “Every soul shall taste of dea! th. And We will test you with evil and with good by way of trial. And to Us is your return.” [sûrah al-Anbiyâ’: 35]. Allah says: “Know that your wealth and your children are but a trial and that Allah has with Him a mighty reward.” [sûrah al-Anfâl: 28] Many people do not realize that they are tried just as severely with the good that they are given as they are by the misfortunes that befall them. Allah says: “And as for man, whenever his Lord tries him by honoring him and makes him lead an easy life, he says: ‘My Lord honors me’. But when He tries him by straitening his means of subsistence, he says: ‘My Lord has disgraced me’.” [sûrah al-Fajr: 15-16] Some people are blessed to be born and raised in good Muslim families then turn their backs on Islam, while others are born and raised in non-Muslim countries to unbelieving parents and grow up to be among the best of Muslims. We are tried with wealth as well as poverty. If we are wealthy, will we hoard our wealth or spend in charity? Will we use it for lawful purposes or squander it in vice? Will we trust in Allah in our investments, or will our avarice and fear of losing our wealth make us take recourse to unlawful means to preserve it and increase it? If we are poor, will we be content and patient and seek lawful means to attain our sustenance or will we resort to unlawful means to meet our needs? Will we accept the fact that Allah gives more to some people than he does to others, or will we grow hateful and vindictive? We are tested with health as well as sickness. A man with good eyesight is tested with regards to his use of it. Will he use the blessing of his sight to good purpose or to gaze at unlawful things? His good eyesight may be what takes him to Hell. A blind man is tested whether he will bear patiently with his disability. His patience in affliction may be what earns h! im his place in Paradise. Our goal is the Hereafter and we are all being tested. Allah says: “It is He who created death and life that He may try you as to which of you is best in deeds.” [sûrah al-Mulk: 2] We may also be tested through others. We know from experience that even a small child can experience suffering as well as a person who is mentally handicapped to such a degree that he cannot understand the concepts of Islam and is not legally accountable. Though it may not be that such a person is not undergoing tests of his own; however his plight may very well be a test for those his life affects. How will they treat him? Will they care for him, respect him, and give him his rights? We may not be able to fathom the wisdom behind why Allah decrees what He does for us or for others of His creatures. However, we must know that Allah does everything in accordance with His wisdom and bear our trials patiently. Ultim! ately, we must remember the words of Allah in the Qur’ân: “He cannot be questioned for what He does but they will be questioned.” [sûrah al-Anbiyâ’: 23] "Our Lord! Pour forth on us patience and make us victorious over the disbelieving people." - Surah Al-Baqarah (2) Ayah 250
