  1. Hold up, So the people of Puntland hate the concept of Somaliland soo much that they're willing to kill innocent gaalos in the name of...WHAT??? I wonder why people don't ask themselves such questions before uttering the most ridiculous and baseless accusations. Big up Garoowe!
  2. lol@sexist idea? I see you are quite the joker or are you simply trynta attain points with the females in SOL? I didn't say the men were better. All I said is there's other ways to find women than on the Net. It's just an idea homie. Quit barking like a hungry dog!
  3. My advice: Don't look for Xalimos on the Net man! Millions of miles away kulahaa. You chattin' wit chicks on Mars?
  4. LIQAYE - lol Saxib, I was joking about Garoowe. I wouldn't want all Somalis claiming my city man. Garoowe is the capital of Nugaal Region. This Puntland business is gonna go away sooner or later and the city will once again belong to Reer Nugaaleed.
  5. I second roko G A R O O W E Oh yeh, to the uninformed, Beletweyne is in Hiiraan Region, central Somalia. It's a wonderful city but too close to the Ethiopian border.
  6. loooooooool@philosopher wanna-bes Tell 'em to go back in time and hunt for Plato and his clowns! I jus have 1 question: who are they trynta impress *coughs* I meant fool? Get with the program and put down the Oxford dictionary. I know y'all got copies
  7. Dang. That's cold! But then again, I've heard enough rumors 'bout Al-Barakaat supporting or funding certain armed thugs in Somalia, and indeed continuing the bloodshed, so I guess WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND! Next time he gets rich, I think he won't mingle in bloody affairs! But still, it's still messed up that the damn Americans froze his money when they know he has no connection whatsoever to al Qaeda or whatever them beard-rocking, mountain goats call themselves. I read somewhere they even blaming the 1993 Black Hawk Down battle on al Qaeda, talkin' bout the Somali fighters were 'trained' by Osama's operatives. SOMALIS DON'T NEED TRAINING! Natural born fighters.
  8. I used to be a traditional girl. Now, I'ma modern superwoman! Captivating Soul - When I grow up, I wanna be jus like you! sykeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. I'm confused  Someone please remind me again, when did SOL have a "Confessions Only" category? Cause in that case, I got a lot of personal problems I'd like to leave footprints of on the Net! My advice: shoot the guy! He's only Spanish, which means he's an illegal immigrant. Trust me, you won't get arrested. You'll just do the U.S. government a huge favor! Peace.
  10. KOONFUR - Saxib, let people be whoever they choose to be. Speaking from personal experience, I've also noticed this trend, as it involves me as well. Laakin that's between me and Allah cazaa wa jalah. Peace
  11. Well that's just facinating. So we're to believe that a former rebel who employed "child soldiers" to take power is now the solution to Somalia's problems? Whether its Museveni, Kibaki, Zenawi, or Gheele, is irrelevant. Somalia's problems are Somalia's problems. We're supposed to find solutions, without intervention from outside forces who more likely than not have their own hidden agendas. Nice article tho. Peace.
  12. The name has 'Somali' in it right? So how is this a question? My parents was married in Hargeisa, although I don't hail from those regions nor support Somaliland's claim to independence. But whether they're indepedent or stay with the rest of Somalia, I know that it's "dhul Soomaaliyeed." So, don't hate. Peace.
  13. <--- rolls a blunt for Sophist...Take hit..then I'm sure u gonna go all ghetto dawg hehe
  14. Boring AND useless. Everything's a conspiracy. Just sympathize with the poor Gaalos who were sacrificing their lives in order to help others. That's indeed honorable. But don't go too deep into the conspiracy to take down the Republic of Somaliland. A couple of senseless murders don't do that. Che-Guevara - Don't worry man. Garoowe is untouchable. An article isn't gonna make it any easier for haters to attack Garoowe anytime soon. Or ever!
  15. Who said anything bad happened on October 21st (1967)? We should celebrate it as a historical day for Somalia. Judging how 'bad' a day it is depends on who you ask.
  16. wow I'm right where French President Jacques Chirac and Pope John Paul II are. Wierd.
  17. lol@conspiracy theorist Big up LIQAYE still... I think in our world, you're either a conspiracy theorist or you're ignorant (whether you choose to be or not). I say this because ain't no such thing as human rights. The West is famous for double standards. They want to criticize Iran and China etc for a horrible human rights record. But they don't dare look at their own behaviors. Its saddening to see some of you have fallen into this trap.
  18. LIQAYE - I agree with you sxb. It's their country. And the comment about 'what happened to freedom of speech?' I guess some people haven't been paying attention to the brewing war within the American legal system. The U.S. changed in the post-9/11 era with the introduction of the Patriot Act, which essentially takes away the notion of civil rights. And I doubt wearing the hijab to school falls into that category.
  19. Check out this article: http://www.hiiraan.com/htdocs/2003/oct03/rice.htm US General William Boykin, the deputy undersecretary of defense for intelligence, was quoted after capturing Somali warlord Osman Atto in 1993. From the article: "After a 1993 battle with Osman Otto, a Muslim warlord in Somalia, Boykin said: "I knew that my God was bigger than his. I knew that my God was a real God, and his was an idol." After Otto's capture, Boykin has said he told Otto, "You underestimated our God." General William Boykin's excuse: "Boykin's statement said the comment was misinterpreted, that he spoke of Otto's "worship of money and power; idolatry," not of his religion. "He was a corrupt man, not a follower of Islam," Boykin said. " Precisely how dumb does he think we are? Oh yeah, care to note the part about Osman Atto being a "Muslim warlord in Somalia." I thought that was interesting. Peace,
  20. I heard the story of a Russian man who wrote a book on Somali maah-maahs (proverbs). Supposedly this man was an "expert" on the Somali language and their ancient maah-maahs. So one day, the people decided to test him. Him and a boy were both asked the same question at the same time: "Cagaha wax ka day (loosely)." The boy ran. The Russian took it literally and checked his feet. Bottom line: if you ain't Somali then YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND our problems/issues. Not in the past, not in the present, and certainly not in the future. So quit posting White man's views. White people are parasites. The same man who wrote the above article will tomorrow preach about Puntland's greatness for the right amount of money. So I dismiss 'em. My problems, My solutions. Period.
  21. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! The eternal battle between nerd and jock continues. Dawg, jus write in plain English instead of writing in the 'Queens English.' I doubt that's gonna get you any closer to be an Englishman. Other than that, regardless to what you're little bookworm friends told you, Ethiopian forums are a mess. The infamous SomaliNet became irrelevant because a large percentage of the threads were posted by a punch of high school kids who come home right after school and name all the cutest boys and girls here and there and wherever else. The point is, you can't judge Somali Forums by pointing you're finger at a single one. There are numerous forums that function accordingly and professionally, including SOL. P.S. Peep out the ghetto man. You might get you're lingo refined!
  22. Juxa - I don't think there's a single answer or a or set of answers to you're complex questions. To understand women's nature is to understand the universe. No man can. Period. Therefore, I don't try. I'll tell you this much though: typical woman will go for No. 2. Because he doesn't give attention. Instead he's the one complaining for attention. A sissy dude if you ask me, but nonetheless, the average woman will want him. The other two, although they're nice guys, they're showering her with attention. That's the key. Give her attention, get the ignore button in return. Walk away and here she comes running. That's my take.
  23. Man, I bet whoever starts a Somali Language 101 course will make some ca$h huh. Basically the poster wrote - What happened to the Somali youth? Why are they acting and talking like the Adoons (presumably Afro Americans)? Its odd. Have they no other way to talk? To the poster - I sag my pants and talk like a rap star. I do other things that I won't mention here. But the bottom line is, whatever I do is a preference. I recognize it reflects on the community in a negative light, but hey, it's my life. You older goons are the ones that forced us to flee our country to begin with, so before you judge us and how we act, judge yourself and ask yourself why you brought us here! Af soomaali - Waxaan suubiyo iyo sidaan u labisto waa hawl ii taalo. Intaad su'aashaas na waydiinleheed, waxaad adiga is waydiisa wixii wadankeena naga soo cayriye oo qurbaha na keene. Taas waa dadka waa wayn, adoo kale. Markaan qurbaha naa keenteen kadib baad calaacalaysaan. hehe I know that was a weak translation but I was in third grade in Somalia before the war. Peace
