Asalamu Alaykum In the last couple of days, I have read in this forum, and in other places, both on & offline, some questions about Jannah and the hearafter that caught my attention. I'm not much concerned and suprised of what those outside of the Tawhiid know about it,, but some of the questions showed me how very little some of Our Believing brothern know about Jannah. In of the discussions, someone asked, 'if we all get what we want and desire, how will everyone get along and be pleased?' This reminds me of a story I heard a while back, an American once went to a small village in India, and he showed the people there a picture of the Empire State Building. The first question the people asked was, "How much sheep can fit in?" When humans don't understand something fully, they use their references to get a clear picture, and in this case then it is no suprise when you see people using the laws of this world in order to get a better picture of the Hearafter(Jannah). The only problem with this, is that it is very limiting! and Insha'Allah I'll show you why; Instead of describing what Jannah has, I'll write few things that it Doesn't have: There is no Pain in Jannah - you will not feel pain, worry, sadness, sorrow, and similar emotions/feelings. There is no Fear in Jannah - you will have no fear. There is no Hunger/Thirst in Jannah - even though you will have all the foods and beverages you desire, you will not feel hunger nor thirst, you will not gain if you eat for a million years, nor will you loose if you fast for a billion. There are no Restrooms in Jannah too! There is no spitting, yawning, coughing, sweating, bleeding, crying, slipping, breaking, you name it, if it hurts - its out of there, even paper cuts and broken nails have no place in Jannah. There is no Anger - hate, envy, jealousy, greed, and all the lower wordly urges, to see your brother/sister in pleasure is your pleasure(like one heart) i.e. there is no Competition once you get into Jannah, that is for this world. There is no Sleep - tiredness, boredom, and all the weak states of this world. In Jannah there are no urges - everything is done for Pleasure, eating, resting, drinking, making love, they are all done for Pleasure, not for Need. Now, I can hear the Dunya Mind going, "hold up! hold up! are you telling me I can eat and drink all I want, but I wouldn't have the need to use the restroom?... But! how is that possible?" This is why it is vitally important for us Muslims to learn and study the Names and Attributes of Allah(swt). Understaning them will free us from the limitations of our worldy and human references. It will also sheild us against the trap of Ibliis that most of the rest of humanity has fallen into, trying to 'Know' G-d through the attributes of Man, so they now they have a G-d that eats, sleeps, smokes and even copulates, Subhanallah! This is just a small glimpse of the very little knowledge we have about Jannah, and as brother Nur once said as an example of how little humans know; Of Knowledge; 1% we know that we know 1% we know that we don't know 98% we don't know that we don't know Allah Al-Malik al-Mulk Dhu al-Jalal wa al-Ikram knows best! Please if you find an error above correct it. Fi'amanillah

Ya Mu'mineen; don't waste your time with JB's questions, he is neither a women, nor does he believe in Allah(swt), the Quraan or the Hearafter. Those who's minds enter the possibility of discrimination in the Hearafter, have very low belief in Allah's 'Adl(Justice), essential part of Tawheed, or have no belief at all. This Dunya and Aakhirah are not the same, trying to capture it with the mind of this world, is like fishing with a straw. fi'amanillah

» Asalamu Alaykum fellow Believers sis Abrar, your correct The Quraan was first revealed in 610 AD, 12 years before the Hijrah, so The Quraan is about 1438 years(Lunar) old. Islaam - began with Adam(as), so Islaam didn't start with Prophet Muhammad(as) in 610 AD. bro Rashiid: You are correct. Jibriil - is the Angel that brought revelations to all the Prophets Mikaa'iil - is the Angel that brings thunder and lightning to Earth, the Angel of sustenance. Israafiil - is the Angel that will signal the coming of Yawmal Qiyamah by blowing a horn. + Izraa'iil - is the Angel of Death, Malakul Mawt . Allah Knows Best!

what do we know about this place we are all aiming for? sit back, relax for a moment, like a traveller rest for a while under the shade of a tree, and imagine yourself in your destination, Jannah. what do you look like? what are you wearing? take a deep breath in Jannah, how does it feel, the air of Jannah entering your lungs? take another deep breath, and smell the sweet fragrance of Jannah, how does it smell? now open your eyes, and look at your eternal home, what do you see? the great power of the imagination has been seen in athletes who got injured and instead of working out would use their imagination, it almost had the same effect as doing the work out. so take a virtual journey in Jannah with your imagination, and share it with us. Insha'Allah 39:73 And those who feared their Lord will be led to the Garden in crowds: until behold, they arrive there; its gates will be opened; and its keepers will say: "Peace be upon you! well have ye done! enter ye here, to dwell therein." ps. If your vision is blurry, don't worry, it may be that your knowledge of Jannah is limited. the purpose of this thread is to enhance your vision. Insha'Allah Fi'Amanillah Keep your eyes on the Prize

7-Foot, 9-Inch Herdsman Is World's Tallest Human "I do not like people looking at me like they're watching a strange animal," Bao Xishunto said. A 7-foot, 9-inch herdsman in Beijing, China has been confirmed by Guinness World Records as the tallest naturally-growing human in the world. Bao Xishunto, from the Inner Mongolia region of China, recently received the official certificate from Guinness World Records headquarters after undergoing a medical examination at Chifeng city hospital, Inner Mongolia. http://www.local6.com/news/4839875/detail.html ---------------------------------- I wonder what Hussain Bisad thinks of this?

"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle." SUN TZU ON THE ART OF WAR peace to all, I'm curios of how much do we realy know about our next door neighbors, specially our so called, 'eternal nemesis', Ethiopia? I open this thread, so that we can educate ourselfs about this country, that is not going to move away, no matter how much we wish so, it will remain our neighbor, and we must learn to live with it. If Germany and France can get along, who said, we can't? I'm going to began this subject with one fact that deeply interests, and sometimes suprises, me: close to 1/2 of Ethiopians are Muslim: 45%-50%, with Christianity as second; 35%-40% and according to the population growth rates, Ethiopia will become a Muslim majority country in the near future. How does this change our view? what is the Somali's relationship with; - the Oromo - the Amhara - the Tigrey - the Sidamo - the Shankella - the Afar - the Gurage? or do we put them all in the same basket?

: Hispanic Muslim Women Busy Teaching Islam :. More Hispanic women coverting to Islam "Islam is so beautiful, it's worth it. And with Ramadan, I'm just doing it by myself, just me and God," said Matos. (Courtesy: The Miami Herald) CAIRO, October 5, 2005 (IslamOnline.net) – Growing in number and taking difficulties into their strides, Hispanic Muslim women have made an indelible impression on their society, teaching Spanish-Arabic classes, forming support networks and distributing the Noble Qur’an in Spanish, a US newspaper reported on Wednesday, October 5. Melissa Matos, who comes from a family of Seventh-day Adventists from the Dominican Republic and reverted to Islam in April, plans to organize a lecture series this semester at her alma mater on the religion's little-known history in Latin America, including two lectures that will be in Spanish, said The Miami Herald said. The 20-year-old political science student at Florida International University (FIU) said some Hispanic Muslim women have founded support networks to rally behind those who want to revert to Islam. Piedad, a network of Muslim women that seeks to educate Spanish-speaking communities about Islam, has more than 344 members nationally, according to the paper. Other groups, like the Latino American Dawah Organization , which was formed in 1997, promote the legacy of Islam in Spain and Latin America. There are some 40,000 Hispanic Muslims in the United States, according to the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). The largest populations live in New York, Texas, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami. Growing Number Islam's growth among Hispanic women may result from the broader Muslim outreach following the Sept. 11 attacks, said Aisha Musa, an assistant professor of religion at Florida International University. ''It's a movement that is growing, particularly in urban areas,'' added Manuel Vasquez, a professor of religion at the University of Florida. ''It's part of the cross-fertilization that's occurring among immigrant groups.'' Sofian Abdelaziz, the director of the American Muslim Association of North America in Miami, said his group often gets requests for the Noble Qur’an in Spanish. In the last several years, they have given away more than 5,000 Spanish translations of the Qur’an to South Florida mosques and prisons, he said. Convincing Families Convincing families of why they have chosen Islam is not an easy job for reverts, the paper said. ''Sometimes it does get a little difficult,'' said Matos, who now wears hijab and starts observing Ramadan for the first time in her life. ''I feel alienated from my family and my old friends, but Islam is so beautiful, it's worth it. And with Ramadan, I'm just doing it by myself, just me and God. '' ''They think I've rejected my way to salvation because I don't believe Jesus Christ is the son of God,'' Matos said of her parents. The Catholic parents of 52-year-old Roraima Aisha Kanar, who reverted to Islam at 22, did not want their grandchildren to be raised Muslim. ''It was very hard to know that my own mother didn't respect my belief,'' said Kanar, who with her husband raised their three children as Muslims. But others have found support from their families, the Herald said. Fatima Narvaez, 30, who reverted in 2002 and now studies Arabic with two other Hispanic women on the weekends, was worried her family would not understand her new dietary practices as Islam forbids pork and meat that is not halal, or slaughtered according to Shari`ah. ''With Puerto Ricans, there's pork in everything,'' said Narvaez, referring to her native Puerto Rico. ''But they accommodate all my issues and cook halal food for me.'' Jameela Ali, 26, who became a Muslim seven years ago after she dreamed she was praying in a mosque filled with light, has renounced aspects of Hispanic culture that conflict with her beliefs, like cooking with wine or eating pork. ''You give up everything of your old lifestyle -- your old clothes, you're not going to clubs, you're not drinking, you're not smoking,'' said Ali, whose mother, sister and brother have all embraced Islam. ''You feel a much closer connection to God,'' said Ali, who teaches two other Hispanic Muslim women to read and write Arabic.
