Asalaamu Calaykum walaalayaal, Ramadaan Kariim. Originally posted by Rashiid: Which one is the best story in the holy Koran? Akhi this question is not clear, All of the stories in the Quraan are all important and good, but are you asking for a specific story? Who was the Sahabi that Allah ordered Prophet Mohamed (asw) to recite to him one of the Surah of the Holy Koran? Ibn Mascuud(ra) Abdallah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports as follows:- Once the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) asked me to recite the Qur'an to him. I said: "O Messenger of Allah! The Holy Qur'an has been revealed to you and you ask me to recite it to you!" "It is my wish, " he said, "that I hear it from some other person". So I began to recite, beginning from the Sura an-Nisa, and when I reached this verse: "But how (will it be with them) when, We bring of every people a witness, and We bring thee (O Muhammad) a witness against these," (4:41). I chanced to glance at his auspicious face and saw that tears were rolling down from his eyes. (Tirmidhi)

But does it mean that our initial immunity is now lifted? an interesting question, indeed frighting too. since the Manager came(62:2), after the Dua of an earlier Manager was accepted (2:129) it seems that it is up to us, in which of those sections that bro Nur mentioned, we will end up in(33:72). let us find sollace in the Menu that the Manager brought to us from the Beloved Owner, it is our medicine (17:82), and our guide (5:16). a reminder: Insha'Allah after we finish our Iftaar at the Sojourner's Cafe, when it is our time to sign the Guestbook, I pray that we all sign in the Ciliyiin (83:18-21) and not the Sijiin (83:7-9). Amiin!

Abrar you are correct Sis, may Allah(swt) increase your Ilm. amiin. here is the ayah; Al-Anbiya: 87 And remember Zun-nun(Yunus), when he departed in wrath: He imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the deptHs of darkness, "There is no god but thou: glory to thee: I was indeed wrong!" Hey, I have a question. Who was sent first to "humanity" prophet Noah or Idriis? Idris(as) was the first Prophet sent to the Children of Adam(as), after Adam(as). Question: What is the translation of the word Hikmah when mentioned in the Quran? Tip: it is not Wisdom

Salams Shamsuddin & Nuruddin, Brother Mohammed, why do you sit in the ardaa cross-legged or in awkward kadaloobsi position when you can enjoy your bunn in the restaurant? Akhi, it was the section listing the costumers of The Owner (17:44) that impelled me to gaze for a moment. Salaxuddin

Nur, Jazakallah Khair bro. I believe I read that in Ibn Kathir's book, The Story of the Prophets. so if we continue on this journey, then Tawxiid is Allah's signature in All of His Creation, not just in Humans, but from plants to animals, planets to galaxies. so planet Earth is Muslim, the Moon, the Sun, the milky way, the constellation andromeda and so on. takes his roasted bunn, sajayad and tusbah to the ardaa, sits cross legged and gazes into the heavens

The night before that I saved a life in my dreams. I wonder, will that be recorded as an Ajr? lol Alas Sheherazade, but have you gotten to the point where the alarm clock becomes part of the dream. ____________________________________ here is an article I read that reminded me of this thread. By: Sheikh Ragip Robert Frager al Jerrahi 10/10/2005 - Education Religious Social IslamiCity* - If everything flows from God and everything returns to God, do you truly own anything? Are you not but a steward, taking care of that the portion of this world under your care, which is to be preserved and protected and possibly shared? There are different forms of generosity. Most of us feel generous when we give something-money, time, advice. We know that our generosity is successful when we are seen, acknowledged, thanked, and praised for what we have done. This is the most obvious level of generosity. The truth of the matter is, in these cases, we give and we are repaid. These transactions are actually exchanges and contain the actual generosity. A higher level of generosity is to give anonymously. The giver still benefits, but not as directly. Payment comes from knowing that we have been not only generous but also virtuous in not expecting gain recognition for our giving. However, the recipient will still feel gratitude, and inside ourselves, we assure ourselves, intuitively, that we gain merit. There is still another level - "secret charity." This occurs when you give so that someone benefits from your actions, but unlike at the other two levels, that person does not feel given to, nor is there any burden of gratitude. How do you feel, for example, if you find a dollar bill on the sidewalk? You look around and pick it up with a smile on your face. You may feel blessed or at least lucky. You don't feel that someone "gave it to you" but that you found it. If, however, someone made a practice of laying bills on the ground now and then-then walking away and telling no one-he or she would be practicing a simple form of secret charity. If you try something like this, you will soon feel the effects in your life. If you look for small, daily opportunities, they abound. My local library, for example, has a place where I can donate books so I can get a tax deduction. They also have a box so that books can be given anonymously. The choice is mine. You can practice generosity with other than things. It is possible to give your time, your knowledge, your labor, and your skills. Having little money is no excuse for a lack of generosity. At yet another level, if you give what is in your heart patience, insight, compassion you will find not only that your generosity arises from God, but that each act of giving also becomes an act of remembrance. _______________________________________________________ One take away one is equal to one (A traditional teaching story) Two brothers, one married and one single, farmed together and divided the grain from the harvest equally between them. The single brother often thought that his brother had extra worries and expenses because of his family so he would, from time to time, move some of the filled sacks from his storeroom into his brother's. His brother, on the other hand, often thought of how lonely his single brother must be. He thought, if my brother had a little more money he might buy himself some nicer things. So he would, without the other's knowledge, move some of his grain sacks into his brother's storeroom. For many years the number of sacks remained equal between them, and neither brother could ever understand why this was so.

JB'yow labo kuu daayay, Ingliish iyo ku Dagaalankiisa! dear Callypso, you said, "My answer would be that analysing what is said about a god (his attributes, his rewards and punishments and accomplishments) is the only way any mortal has in determining whether such a god exists. " even though I don't agree that the only way to 'know' God is by studying 'what is said about Him', if we follow that thought, then lets clarify few things first, since we are speaking of Islam; the God is - Allah(swt) The One. and if we want to 'Know' Him by studying what others have said, if we are fair, we can only use(trust) two Sources; - the Quraan; the Words of Allah(swt) i.e. In His Own Worlds! - the Sunnah; authentic tradition of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh). then you said: "If I am told that a Compassionate and perfectly Just God rewards men and women differently, than I have to wonder whether this God is either NOT compassionate and just, or whether people are making him up." now I would like to know, where in The Quraan and the Sunnah, it clearly says that Allah(swt) The Just, The Compassionate, rewards men and women differently simply because of Gender? hence, I take it you were refering to God in Islaam, and you ment that God favors one Gender from the other, because one can reward two people differently, but in equal measure. If both of these assumptions are not correct, there is no need for a reply. then, after quoting a Hadith, you said; "Why would I believe that a just and compassionate god would be more likely to throw me in hell just because I was born a woman rather than a man?" You shouldn't!! Nabad

Salaams, about breaking the promise, can someone tell me if this is true, I think i read that when our father Adam(as) was created, all of the Ruh's of his progony were taken from his back, collected together and asked, who is your Rabb? and they all said Allah(swt)? bro Nur, others, please clarify this, JZK!

Salaams, bro Rashiid that is a tough one, I'll have to do some reading, Insha'Allah.

Nur, yes, The Masjid, which represents the Islamic Community, Khilafah, is the base station, the phone is the Muslim, and the Signal and Battery are the Imaan, Salaah is the charger. Now if You want to have 5 bars in your signal, you have to stay inside or close to the Masjid, and to fully charge your battery it is better if you do it also inside the base station. now Imagine if one neglects to charge his battery and it dies? this can happen mostly for one reason, he must be too far away from the base station, somewere in Wichita maybe and lost his signal, if he had stayed close to the base station, he would have heard the Alarm(adaan) advicing him to Come and Charge your Battery(Haya Ala Salaah). hmm... now the question is what took him too far away from the base station to Kansas? as for the last two, they seem to both share a parallel - Aikido, swallowing their own tails, or better yet, drowning in their sweats. and yes, we need Sabr for that! a Muslim's body can endure enslavement, but His Aqli is always free! Sabr and Time are his trusted allies!

Salaams to all brother in humanity, JB, you said: "as a Muslim you´re supposed to convince me and the wolrd with your faith, as it is NOT as obvious and self explanatory as it is for you." I agree with you. But do you agree with me that there is a 'wise' way of doing that. for example, before your baby learns to run, he needs to learn how to sit and walk. explaining Jannah to an Athiest, and there is a difference here in a person who believes in a all-powerful deity, and one who does't, is like teaching a baby how to run, when he doesn't even know how to sit. You, for example, Don't believe in Allah, which means you don't believe in Aakhirah, then how can one explain to you about Jannah, try and put water in a cup that is up side down. And when I talked about Imaan, you said; "Areen´t you judging the others here?" well, If you say, there is discrimination in Aakhirah, In Islam that means you lack Imaan if you are a Muslim, or you don't have Imaan! It is clear why, first what is Imaan? Imaan is first, the Belief in Allah(swt) the Supreme, the Just. and Muslim is - the One who to gain peace, submits to the Will of Allah AL-'ADL! to quote Wiilo here, 'Go Figure' then you said: "MUHAMMED bro, what mind should we use to capture it? Do you have a mind that is out of this 'dunya'?" bro, you need Faith (Imaan) to capture it! that is what I have. Faith in Allah(swt), that He is The Just. A simple answer to the question of Hurul-Ain is; If you Belief in Allah(swt), you don't Need a 'Mullah' in this Dunya to tell you what you will get in Aakhirah, Jannah belongs to Allah(swt) alone, and you will deal with Him alone. and to a Non-Muslim, first, come to a Belief in Allah(swt), before you question us what you will get in Jannah that belongs to The One(swt) that you don't even belief in! fi'amanillah
