Why Faransiiska renamed French Soomaaliland
me replied to Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar's topic in Politics
It is funny to see how the anti-Somali groups have similar views when it comes to Somalinimo and Somali unity. They are always more then willing to play down our midnimo and focus on how they can divide us. Ka fakar, the more clannist one is the more he or she is against midnimo Soomaaliyeed. -
My position on the territorial integrity of Somalia has always been clear. So what is this turn around that you are talking about?

You are right the secessionist entity is not disputed, the borders of the Somali republic are internationally recognized and we all know where they start and where they end.

Thanx MMA. Somalis are united and nothing can break that bond. We will soon realize the dream of our forefathers, we will defeat the enemies of our nation, internal aswell as external and we will unite our lands under a single state. -

The SOL theory of the whole SSC regions being in dispute needs to die down. Sxb Waqooyi galbeed Somalia is 'disputed'* not SSC. The people of SSC have made their choice clear. They want to remain united with their Somali brothers. On the point of secession, well the Somali republics territorial integrity is sacred. So forget about this secessionist pipe dream. Somalia will remain united. ps. I am glad in aad soo gashay wada hadalka. *nothing is disputed the borders of the Somali Republic are known, so there can be no disputes.

So do we actually need qabiil? and if we had a just and inclusive government would there be any need for qabiil? i mean if our state would guarantee our security, would we need clan militia's? if the legal system functioned well, would there be need for blood feuds and killing innocent people for crimes commited by others? etc..etc..

It's about who gets what title in post conflict Somalia. It is rat race. Baashi why are these men fighting for these titles and posts and why are so many Somalis willing to fight and die for the gains of these men? What do I have to gain from this civil war? what do you have to gain? what do badacase, xanthus, ngonge, general duke and all these other nomads have to gain from this conflict?

^ What are you saying then? fariin = break, hand break in a car.

Originally posted by Xanthus: I have a question for you, you claim to be from H town, so if your clan lives there you should feel right at home as they will be there to protect you, (according to your logic) what is with all your fear, take a holiday. I am not claiming to be from Hargeysa, I am from Hargeysa and I wish I could live my life there without being bothered by clannist individuals, but sadly the reality of the ground is so that I can not enjoy a peaceful life there without persucution of fear of persecution. In the Somali case it goes like this, some guy who belongs to a majority clan in Hargeysa gets shot by some other guy who might be from the same lineage as me and guess who needs to be killed to pay for that killing? yes, poor old me needs to hang because someone he never heard of or met another guy. Sometimes there are blood fueds that have been going on for generations and I am not going to take chances with people like that. Call me fulay if you like. I call it common sense.

I rest my case ps. af soomaali waan ku qorayaa, your fish and chips clan needs to intergrate. pss. gaxay, was a typo I ment to say qaxay.

^waxaad hadashayba waxaad keentay in aad tiraahdid madaxaaga hadaadan ku qorin qabiilkaaga cid dhibaato kula soo doonanaysaa ma jirto...aduunyo. Sheekadaas uga sheekee dadkii ka qaxay, Hargeysa, Burco, Muqdisho, Kismayo....uga sheekee dadkii guryahooda laga soo baxay, dadkii hiiraan jidka loo galay uga sheekee taas. It does not matter whether you keep your mouth shut about your qabiil or not, if your qabiil is not the majority in the area where you live in, then you are in danger, thats the sad reality in Somalia today and that needs to change. So abaayo hurdada ka kac and smell the oodkac. Xanthus on the issue of qabiil the differnece between you, me and Ngonge is. Adigu indhaha ayaad iska tiraysaa Anigu waxaan leeyahay qabiilka iyo qabyaalada waa in wax laga qabto (la baabi'iyo, if possible) Ngonge wuxuu leeyahay qabiilka iyo qabyaaladu wey jiraan wax laga qabankaraana ma jiraan and we should learn to live with it.

Originally posted by Castro: ^^^^ There are five, and only five, possible positions anyone can hold on this occupation: 1) Reject it and pick up arms against it. 2) Reject it and either speak up against it or keep the rejection in their heart. 3) Support it and speak up in favor or keep the support in their heart 4) Support it and actively fight alongside it 5) Be indifferent. Now, I've no idea how you, or anyone else, could come up with this 'two thirds' figure but I will tell you this, the bulk of Somalis fall in category 2). A small minority is in category 1) and an even smaller number is in categories 4) and 5). That's how I see it. That many Somalis are incapable of doing something about the occupation does not in any way mean they support it. Ask any occupied peoples and they'll tell you they're against their occupation except, of course, those who stand to gain from the occupation. So, now that you made your point, what evidence will you bring forth in its support? Castro is right on this issue, the trick is how can the second group be turned into active supporters of the resistance. The resistance whether nationalist or islamist needs to get this group on their side. Those that support divisions whether they call themselves TFG, Somaliland or Puntland will do anything they can to keep our people divided with their clannism. After 16 years of civil war, by now we know that the TFG, Somaliland, Puntland and all the other warlords are not the solution, they are the problem. Ask yourself how can group two be changed into active supporters of the resistance? They are the sillent majority, they are the ones that have condoned the everything that has happened so far with their sillence. I say its time to confront them with the truth. Think outside the clan box!

POSSESSION By K'naan. I am told of greatness, men who've lived twice a life each day, men who paused to plant their earth their own way, I am told of peace, times when stillness rubs passionately with the wind, times when angels enchant newborns and sing, I am told of love, free, unaccounted for, and summoned, pure, unknowing, and mindless, I am told of purpose, some rigidly devoted to it's customs, consumed entirely by the light unseen, I am told of commitment, logic and things that taste like metal, rhythm-less, but intact and balanced, But I, I am a misguided particle, without face or intent, without genius to invent, without sin to repent, without hazard to prevent, a lonely one man symbol in a banished verse, that would have been made into a song, which would have been realized in a book, that would have contained my soul, I am a grain under a well, poor children drink from, and I can tell when I am well, Because it comes to me, they call it poetry, a great hand submerges in the water to find me, it sheds it's shade of shadow around me, my shell is cracked open like heaven's gate, fierce light traces the proud yellow moon, I gasp for wisdom and violently begin to consume, I cry words, I lie truth, I feel used, possessed loose, I know nothing, though darkness has taught me something, profound profanity and lusting, women, lies and hypocrisy, ego, music and vanity, But it comes to me, they call it poetry, I drop at it's feet like a faithful servant, like a child with a broken rib, like a pet seeking attention, or like a loud tear, I cannot refuse it's will, I am a captive in it's cage, made a slave by it's rage, made a man by it's page, but it comes to me, I can't say why, how or when, it comes around like now and then, I submit like holly men, without resentment or reserve, without reason or response, I cannot refuse it's will, I am engulfed by it's flames, it's fire is my friend, and my enemy in the end.

@ XANTHUS - What you are forgetting is that the secessionist entity will not be able to convince the SSC to secede with them. So there goes that plan. The secessionists need SSC for the recreation of the former British Somaliland protectorate. This state is failed because of its disunity, bringing it together is the only solution. The secessionists say no one can force us to join Somalia, the SSC say no one can force us to join the secessionists and they are both right. No one can force them, but this means we will be stuck here, like we have been in the past 16 years, unless Ethiopia chooses to occupy the North too. So there are two options left. 1. a united Somalia and Somalis fighting together against the Ethiopians. 2. the status quo and waiting for the Ethiopian tanks to reach the North. The choice is yours.
