On the 16th of April 2010 Commando Units of the National Liberation Army captured three Ethiopian military bases at Qorile and Miir-Khalif in Dollo region, Marsin in Qorahey region , and Negadi- Weyne in Shabelle region. ONLA destroyed military facilities in these bases including three Russian made (Ural) trucks and captured sizable quantities of Ammunition and weaponry. The Ethiopian casualties in these operations are 216 dead and more than 345 wounded. Also in this operation a number of Ethiopian troops surrendered to the ONLA and after disarming them the Liberation Army have set them free as a gesture of not harbouring any ill-will against the Ethiopian people. The aim of the O'gaden people’s struggle is to obtain the right of self-determination through a plebiscite and live in peaceful coexistence with other nations in the region. The O'gaden national liberation Army command takes also this opportunity to inform all expatriate NGO’s and foreign Workers that ONLA will be conducting extended operations against the Ethiopian occupation Army in the O'gaden from now until mid May and would advise all concerned to be extra careful in all their movements outside their bases. Editor's Note: The Somali O;gaden region is under Martial law where political analysts in the O'gaden region believe there will not be any fair and free election, there is ongoing clashs between the Ethiopian led Tigrey Regime and O;gaden National Liberation Front(ONLF), many people says that voters are forced to vote only the EPRDF, the Ethiopian Prime Minister Party which hijacked the Democratic mode of The Country. The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) disclosed an additional 2,755,453 registered voters from the Somali Regional State, universities and the military on April 16, 2010, bringing the total to nearly 32 million. Somali Regional State has produced 2,524,184 voters, out of which 1,380,512 are male and 1,143,672 female. The remaining 231,269 voters have come from 111 sites, including high education institutions and military camps. These sites delivered 189,923 male and 41,546 female voters. “The number of registered voters has increased from 29,170,867 to 31, 926,320,” Mohammed Abdurrahman public relation officer of the National Electoral Board told Fortune. The number of total registered female voters has increased from 14,067,022 to 15,252,240. The male registered voters also show increase from 15,103,845 to 16,674,280 voters. There are 31 candidates from the Somali Regional State for the Parliament, according to Mohammed. The number of registered voters at four universities and some Somali remote areas are not yet received by the NEBE because these places are remote from Addis Abeba. When these data are received, the total is expected to exceed 32 million voters. “This exceeded the board’s expectation by two million additional voters,” Mohammed said. Ethnic Somali rebels in Ethiopia's ****** region claimed Monday they killed 90 government troops in recent clashes, but the government denied any losses, claiming victory instead. In a statement, the ****** National Liberation Front (ONLF) said it had "conducted a coordinated military operation" in Kebridehar, Degahabur and Jijiga, in response "to increased harassment and war crimes being committed by the Ethiopian Army". The ONLF "conducted coordinated military operations ... killing 90 soldiers and wounding more than 100 others", the group said, before adding that six Ural military vehicles were destroyed and dozens of assault rifles captured. The group did not disclose when the incidents took place, but said "engagements are still going" on in one locality of the vast region. Government spokesman Bereket Simon admitted "incidents", but said it was the rebels who sustained heavy losses. "They are trying to hide their losses. Once again the militia managed to get them and inflict heavy damage on the ONLF," he told AFP. Bereket said the group sustained around 80 deaths during the fighting. Ethiopia's military launched an offensive against the ONLF after they attacked a Chinese-run oil venture in the ****** in 2007, killing 77 people, including nine Chinese nationals. Addis Ababa recently announced that the rebellion was on "its last knees" as a result of "successful" campaigns against them. "It was the first time they were trying to regroup since the campaign in the region," Bereket said. The ONLF is fighting for the independence of ethnic Somalis in Ethiopia's oil-rich ****** region. They say the local people have been marginalised by Addis Ababa.

Ku xigeenka afayeenka Baarlamaanka Kenya Faarax Macalin Dawaaraa ayaa yiri “waan naqaanaa kuwii geystey xasuuqii Waagala, mana ahan Kiplagat, inaga ayaa hortagayna gudiga, kana sheegeyna waxa aan ognahay”, wuxuu difaacayay eedeymo loo jeediyey Danjire Bathwal Giplagat oo madax ka ah gudiga Runta iyo dib uheshiisinta oo baaraya gaboodfalo horey u dhacay. Giplagat oo ahaa gudoomiyihii shirkii kooxaha Soomaalida ee lagu soo dhisey DKMG ah ayaa waxa uu madax ka yahay gudi heersare ah oo dowlada u saartey in uu baaro gaboodfaladii dalka ka dhacay si dadkii geystey loogu soo oogo maxkamad. Hase yeeshee markii ugu horey Faarax Macalin oo shir jaraa’id qabtey ayaa siweyn u difaacay Giplagat, isagoo kuwa heysta ku eedeeyey in ay leeyihiin qorshayaal qarsoon “maxay wax u sheegan waayeen markii aan magacaabeyney, haddii ay cadaymo u hayaan hasoo gudbiyeen” ayuu yiri isagoo intaasi ku daray in wixii cadaymo ah loo gudbiyo xeer ilaaliyaha guud iyo wasaarada garsoorka oo uu tibaaxay in illaa hada aysan helin wax cadaymo ka dhan ah danjiraha. Kiplagat waxaa lagu heystaa in isagoo xil sare ka hayay dowladii Moi ee gaboodfalada geysatay in uusan madax ka noqon karin gudiga ay tahay in uu baaro, isagana ka midyahay dadka ay tahay in la baaro ee lagu tuhmayo xasuuqii Waagala, iyo dilkii wasiirkii arrimaha dibada Robert Ouko. Laakiin Dawaaraa ayaa sheegey in Kiplagat xiligii Waagala uu ahaa xoghayaha joogtada ah ee wasaarada arrimaha dibada, isagana uu garanayo kuwii xasuuqa geystey, sidaasi darteed la’iska dhaafo in waqtiga laga lumiyo gudiga, maadaamaa dadka Kenya ay doonayaan in ay dacwooyinkooda soo bandhigaan oo la dhagaysto Xasuuqii Waagala waxa uu dhacay 14/02/1982 dii waxaana lagu laayay kumanaan Soomaali ah meel kaliya, Waagala waa gago dayuuradeed oo macmal ah oo ku taala magaalada Wajeer ee gobolka Waqooyi Bari, ciidamada Kenya ayaa 7 maalmood ku hayay 5 kun oo rag Soomaaliyeed ah kuwaasoo inta dharka laga bixiyey, biyo iyo baadba laga soomiyey, cadceedana la jiifiyey, kadibna isweer laga qabtey, markii ay u adkeeysan waayeen oo ay damceen in ay ooda jabsadaan ayaa rasaas si safmar ah ooda looga qaaday, halkaasina lagu diley wax ka badan 2 kun oo ruux, illaa maanta cidna looma xirin arrintaasi, Soomaalida ayaa ka rajoqabta in gudigani uu maxkamad soo saaro kuwii ka dambeeyey oo u badan saraakiil ciidan oo illaa maanta xilal haya. Isla xiligaasi shacabkii magaalada Gaarisa oo dhan ayaa xero la galiyey, waxaana dab lagu qabtey guryo badan, balse ka hor intii aanan shacabkaasi la xasuuqin ayaa waxay fariin ka timid madaxweynihii Soomaaliya Maxamed Siyaad Barre oo Madaxweynihii Kenya u sheegey in haddii hal qof oo dadkaasi kamid ah la dilo in uu Kenya soo weerarayo, Nairobina maalmo gudahood ku qabsanayo, taasi waxay keentey in dadkaasi la siidaayo. Sanadihii lixdameeyadii iyo sedeetameeyadii waxay ciidamada Kenya geysteen gabood falo ka dhan ah Soomaalida oo dil iyo dhibaateyn kale isugu jira, tani waxay ka dambeysey markii gobolkaasi NFD uu ingiriiska ku daray Kenya, iyaguna ay sameeyeen kacdoon markii dambe iska qaboobey oo ay arrintaasi kaga soo horjeedaan.

Nairobi – United Nations sanctions imposed on Eritrea last year will stop it interfering in Somalia, Djibouti’s foreign minister said on Wednesday. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf told reporters in Nairobi he was confident Eritrea would be forced to alter its foreign policies but it would likely remain the region’s pariah state. “Eritrea is trying in a way to wage war with each and everybody in the region,” said Youssouf, who was in the Kenyan capital to discuss regional security and economic co-operation with his Kenyan counterpart. Eritrea is accused of backing rebel groups in Somalia – something it has repeatedly denied – where at least 21 000 people have been killed in violence since the beginning of 2007. In December, the United Nations imposed sanctions on Eritrea, saying Asmara was sending weapons to southern Somalia, which is controlled by the al-Qaeda-linked al Shabaab group. Djibouti, which is sandwiched between Eritrea and Somalia, said it alone could not disrupt the flow of weapons from Eritrea but was confident the sanctions would have the desired effect. “(The UN sanctions will) compel Eritrea to at least abide by international regulations and stop messing with the national security of Somalia and Djibouti,” he said. A UN report last month suggested weapons deliveries from Eritrea to Somalia had slowed recently and Asmara’s support for Somali rebels was now more diplomatic, logistical and financial. But Eritrea denies it ever assisted the violent insurgency and says the sanctions were designed and imposed by Washington because it feared any nation that would go its own way. Youssouff said the resolution was an African initiative, pointing out it was tabled at the Security Council by Uganda. Relations between the two neighbours remain hostile, with occasional border skirmishes. Djibouti says a portion of their land is being occupied by Eritrea, something Asmara denies. Reuters

I think Crystal lady is asking for the dower(the money or property brought by a woman to her husband when they marry). In Somali culture. The man gives the money to his bride or her parents. But the man in question could be Asian, who knows.
