  1. lol...that was a great quiz, but I failed I got a rubbish 46% Oh well, I think it was the questions about food and family relatives that threw me off!
  2. No seriously I'm 21 in July...but I'd rather stay 20! actually scrub that I'd rather be 19!!!!!
  3. Yeah I leave it on all the time, it's way easier that way and I'm not worried about people posting things under my name because I'm the only person who uses this computer!
  4. wooooooooooooooooow This is so weird! Add me to the 1983 crew too July 1983 just like my friend OG-Girl! I guess July was a busy year for somalians, Or was that October 1982 was a busy year!

    Introductions!

Hello Basra & fariid! Welcome to SOL, I hope you enjoy it! Nur I'm seriously questioning your sanity!
  6. Come on people, so of you are so unrealistic! Anyways my list: >His heart, basically a organ donor card for his heart! >I loose jewellery and so I think paying for a lesson of some sort, like driving lessons... But for the lucky gal I reckon anything you know she's been meaning to get round too but NO cooking lessons!

    Black Eyed P

you know it's ironic...I seriously use to think that bloke with the goatie is Somali! And now this?! wow I think I'm psychic! or have some sort of 6th sense!
  8. You know I read an Islamic book about the rights and responsibilities in married life (God only knows why!) and quite frankly it put me off the whole idea of getting hitched! Do you realise you're not allow to withhold sex or go to sleep while you're husband is upset with you! Or go anywhere or let anyone into your home without the permission of your husband! You’re not even allow to get changed anywhere outside your home without bloody permission! Which would probably put a damper on shopping with your mates! So in an Islamic point of view you should stay at home and listen to your husband, but personally I feel that if you married this man then you probably should have some sort of understanding about what he expects from you. See I doubt I’d ever end up with some bloke who barked orders at me and expect me to follow them through instead of asking me politely and stating his reasons and if they’re silly then I'm sure I’d find a way to win him over instead of leaving on bad terms. But if he was nice and sweet at the start till it turned miserable and harsh then I’d suggest you have a talk about why he’s changed and then if worse comes to worse threaten him with divorce or find a mediator. P.S: oh and you girls make it sound soo horriable! you know there are different ways of asking for permission and getting it! like you don't have to say can I go please and beg! More like I was gonner do this is that alright with you?! I call that a little consideration or just being polite. I would expect him to say the same...personally I'd get so upset if my bloke just walked out leaving me all alone with explaining himself or saying when he'd be back! It's not like as if he's your bloody prison officer!
  9. I believe this topic has already been hotly debated. http://www.somaliaonline.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=000516
  10. lol nope east london! I think they're worse!
  11. I'm sure you all get first impressions, so why not share them with us! There’s a lot of weirdos here …me being one of course, so how did you perceive any of our Nomads before you got to know them…or even how do you still see them?! Well I thought that… > OG-moti: was a crazy old man…oops did I say WAS?! He still is! >Ameenah: I’ve always liked Ameenah till she suddenly changed her name to Ms London and then Ameenah was no more! But then she came back from the dead! > Somealien: to me she is like some sort of young misunderstood genius. >Athena: Seemed like an intelligent and young woman, but after paltalk I’d like to add scary to that list! >Sophist: Erm…interesting but a little too much for me but now I think he’s snobby and kind of crazy! (No offence meant!) >Og-girl: she seemed a little detached from reality and innocent but now I think she’s so lovely I couldn’t say a bad word about her! >Scorpion sista: probably one of the most intelligent women in SOL but now I think she has a sense of humour too but she hates us brits so I'm not too sure what I think! That’s it for now!
  12. The net! I've been addicted since 1997 and I haven't changed one bit. It's really good weather outside and I haven't been out in daylight for two days! I've become some sort of nocturnal creature, I seriously need a new hobby! I've even given up telly because of it! also I've become seriously detached from reality, I'm seriously anti-social and even forget to eat at times! My family worries about me constantly! especially when they don't see me for a week and I'm living in the same house But oddly enough I've got this sort of weird schizo personality where I'll be life and soul of the party one mintue and the complete oppisite the next!
  13. Rudy, Rudy,Rudy...will you ever learn? Oh god! *sighs* Really not everyone gets happy over alittle attention especially from Khat eating bums, who probably have a dozen children and sign on! (and that's just the young one!)
  14. Okay I’ve had enough of this dim-witted childish argument! Everyone has already expressed their thought on this topic, you can’t force feed people your opinions…no matter how right you think it is! Nor should you go around offending other people with immature banter, about tribes and other discriminative views that have obviously been warped for the gains of other people. Mobb deep I hope you realise that you’ve managed to offend me greatly and I'm sure you’ve also offended many other people on SOL whose families have been major contributors to SNM and have died for a cause they believed so strongly in. I can’t believe that you’ve compared good God fearing individuals who have lost their lives to protect their families and others to drunk and intoxicated sick individuals who get off on seeing others suffer and will do anything to gain power and status! But hey that’s just my opinion! Lander okay I admit I have been a little hasty to believe articles solely on face value but I still think that Riyaale was undoubtedly apart of this regime we separated ourselves from, whether it was a huge role or a tiny role! And for us to have him as our leader is pure hypocrisy. And I think what I'm trying to say is that it’s funny that us Somalilanders are so eager to demean the non-Somalilanders and call them warlords and savages when asked to unite but they’re not savages and murderers when they’re asked to lead us. (It doesn’t make sense at all!) Personally I’d like to see a united nation one day…but with all this ridiculous senseless discussions about a matter that should either be dead and buried like the people or confronted and resolved in an unbiased fashion, I doubt we will see us united any time soon. And if that's the case and neither of us can fix the problem then Allah is the judge of all judges and everyone will get their just desserts in the hereafter!
  15. As OG-moti’s solictor I’d like to make a public apology on behalf of OG-moti. OG-moti feels that he meant well and is extremely sadden that the SOL members feel that he should be detained for a crime he’s not even sure he’s committed. However he’s deeply regretful and will never repeat this again, and hopes that everyone on SOL can find it in his heart to forgive him! I would also like to pay in full the $8,000 for the bail of OG-Moti ----------------------- Defendant ------------ Scorates-1986 formerly known as Northerner ------------------ Charge ------------------ for making offensive remarks towards Sue, concerning the colour pink! Sentence ------------- 5 year sentence working in Soho as a barmaid (wear full get-up!)in one of the nightclubs, and also a life-time subscription to the PINK magazine. Bail -------------- To publicly admit that the colour Pink is greatly associated with homosexuality when worn by males and that people have the right to hate any colour they dislike!
  16. Curly

I HATE PEOPLE WHO HATE PEOPLE WHO HATE THE COLOUR PINK! GOOD INTUITION!!!
  17. Curly

    i HATE....

    I HATE THE COLOUR PINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Curly

    i HATE....

Me too I have a ton of work to do..and whenever someone knocks on my door I yell out "I'm busy" So they all think I'm foever studying and they say things like Sue's so good, she works so hard! Which make me feel so bad! I hate that feeling! I hate being left out BUT I hate joining in so I'm never happy! I hate getting attention BUT I hate it when I don't!
  19. shujui walaal I'm one of them but I have to! I have no choice but to walk around their chill out spot because I have work to do and these men hav nothing better to do! And believe me there is nothing there to admire, all the decent blokes have beter things to do!
  20. socrate bruv but they don't do it directly outside the marfish, just next to it or across the road lol when you're trying to leg it! bariis and basto ah..yeah you're right they should go for a long walk somewhere or maybe even a walk home!
  21. -where you're from? London like it says below! - Your sex (for those with unisexual names) I'm sure you know I'm female! - Occupation (you can lie about this if you like) I'm a student and I work as a family outreach worker (don't ask what that is!) - What you do when you think people aren't looking? Erm...everything i'm not purpose to be doing oh and I read out loud in funny accents, try to sing and oh I dance! - Favorite music Hip hop and R&B and arabic music which i don't understand but love to dance too! - General interests, etc. I'm a scienctist so I love reading science jornals, Sitting in my room by myslef for days, writing on SOL and annoying people online! and just being ME!
  22. Lol Socrates...at least you're inside, it's the ones outside I hate! Exactly Ameenah, and you know its worse when they offer you lifts, scrub that these people don't offer they order you! And when you're just trying to get lunch it's practically "sit down!" and the older ones always know who you are it's like..."Haa inn hablaayo!" and I don't know who the hell they are! Oh the most embarrassing time was when I was trying to cross the road and get away quickly, some old man was shouting at me “stop! Don’t get run over!!!!" waving his walking stick in the air and of course everybody who wasn't already looking started looking too! And even since I’ve been working at my work place they've had to bloody put in frosted glass! And believe me no matter how ugly you are they still stare!
  23. lol Farah walaal It's not that they are there...It's what they do when they are there, it's nothing short of harassement! Walahi I have not problem with Somali men, But the ones that stand around the Marfish always give you trouble whether they are young or old.
  24. Rudy what are you talking about?! Do you know how traumatising it is? I live in fear, I can’t even post letters from work and I have to cross the road just to get home! I can’t even get lunch from my nearby Indian take away because they’re there! And now I can’t even sit in the office shop front without feeling like a bloody goldfish, okay so don’t tell me it’s a free country because I'm not free to work in peace! And as for girls touching each other up, oh well that’s a whole different kettle of fish entirely, I could easily ask you why do Somali guys in Somalia hold hands? I think it’s not homosexuality, but just a innocent culturally accepted form of showing affection towards a friend. And for girls that’s just a culturally accepted way of having fun and not getting into trouble for dance like that with a bloke!
  25. Congratulations sophist! But I pitty the poor dear who's marrying him. I hope she knows what she's gotten herself into! No seriously Mashallah and may Allah bless you with a happy life for you and your wife. I hope everythin runs smoothly for you and just make sure you treat her right!
