What is your GOAL this month of Ramadan?!talk back
Curly replied to lander_girl04's topic in General
My goal is to get through it while keeping up the my prayers, I think that's about as much as I can manage. I'm really busy and I hope I can keep all my prayers this month Inshallah! And maybe pray some Tarawiix prayers on the weekend Inshallah. -
Recently I’ve been forgetting things more than usual, everything from appointments, lecture times, ID cards to what I wore two days ago. It's so fustrating!!!! I’ve always been a little scatty, I’m the type of person who can only remember two phone numbers and is forever loosing things, but it’s getting worse and I was wondering if other people have the same problem and what do you do to help you remember? I did this little quiz at ivillage to see why I’m getting so bad and it said that it could be related to common problems like hormonal fluctuations, stress, an inadequate diet, low blood sugar or not enough exercise. They also think that my problem could also be age-related because memory retrieval slows down as you get older, but this doesn't mean that my memories aren't still there (I don’t think I’m that old just yet!) – they think that I may just need to work harder to remember them. However I think my long-term memory is great. I've also tried a number of things to help, like I have two diaries one for work and one for Uni, I also have a pocket PC, but I can't remember to keep it updated...and I just remembered I left a DVD I need at home!!! GOD! If you want to take the quiz it’s at ivillage. This post was edited 3 times! This shows how bad I am and this is normal for me!

lol...imagine calling your daughters that! damn, so does that mean they're 'fast'? But you sort of right I know a few people with the same name as me and they’re nothing like me! But if I remember correctly there was this website that was posted on here long ago and it was all about what type of personality you have according to your name. And a lot of the nomads thought that the website was spookily accurate, including myself! http://www.somaliaonline.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=001326#000000 http://www.somaliaonline.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=002248#000002 though I warn you this philosophy is probably xaram and roots from Jewish philosophy.

Yeah that's why I posted this, I'm constantly being asked like I'm so good at finding jobs! I like to think of it as I didn't find it, it found me. (that's, I mean the job)
-
I know it's hard finding jobs, so I thought I'd help out and post this website. I hope it'll be of help! http://towerhamlets.healthjobsuk.com/select_sector.html?fs91=f4a108d7beaf903bdb277974b33617f8

People you know what the worse thing about this is? This is like one of the signs that the day of judgement is near. Because this wall was predicted in the Qu’ran, I’m too sure where it’s written but I will find out, unless anyone here knows!

You know I usually go with gut instinct, but the majority of the time the guys that are really confident and approach you with ease, I think are the players…They’ve probably approached half a dozen girls that day hoping for a bite and usually the quite ones are not, but they tend not to talk to you unless you see them on a regular basis, probably because they’re building up the courage to approach you. However, I tend to prefer confident guys who talk sense and are genuinely original, but you have to watch out for the ones that are overly confident and talk using street slang, which is the biggest turn off ever! I also don’t like many Somali speakers, purely because I get very conscious of my Somali speaking skills and then you think what’s the point if your barely understand one another. Anyways I hope that addressed the question at hand, I have a habit of getting sided tracked.

GOD!!! You know for a second I was in fear of my own safety and how I was going get home tonight, but then I remembered that south africa has an East London too! phew...for me, but I feel sorry for the woman but if she knew the kidnapper then that's alittle different, atleast there isn't going to a wave of serial kidnappings resulting in God knows what! This all sounds alittle typical of what happens in Somalia.

I'm not lovey dovey...but anyways rules are meant to be broken! You know the hardest thing is when you're trying hard to get over someone and you happen to brush by someone else with that same scent, it really brings back memories.

Your Energy is Grey. Your thoughts are unclear, muddled, and confusing. Dark thoughts or depression may be clouding your true colors. It may be that you have been hurt and rejected, or maybe you are just manipulative, dark, and evil. What color is your energy? brought to you by Quizilla Should I be worried?

Sure Start is big on promoting early learning and we're heavily involved in 'Book Start’, which is set up for introducing children under the age of 4 to books. Many parents from the ethnic minorities feel this is a waste of time and usually do not take part in an of our ‘Book start’ session, which is a shame because as you were saying earlier, reading books from an early age is the best way for children to succeed in education later on when they start school or nursery. There’s actually a national ‘Book Start’ day in the UK next Friday 8th October 2004. So it would be great for people to try and promote this to the Somali community, because it’s sad how our children tend to miss out on great chances because we as a community are too narrow minded to consider what the western culture has to offer us. I think it’s depressing that the majority of Somali parents do not see a need to help their children excel in education, after all this is the next generation and shouldn’t we be trying to give our children that leg up the other children have? I know had I been given the same opportunities as a child, I wouldn’t have found it so hard to catch up with the other children my age when I entered nursery and even later on in the school system.

Hey sistah are you going to join our ranks? I'm a microbiologist, I think you have a section for biologist, add me to that one please! -
you know the silly page didn't load properly so I couldn't see what any of the pictures were so I guessed all them and I ended up with... Congratulations, Sue! Your IQ score is 115 Your Intellectual Type is Word Warrior. (Damn right, I couldn't see any pictures!) This means you have exceptional verbal skills. You can easily make sense of complex issues and take an unusually creative approach to solving problems. Your strengths also make you a visionary. Even without trying you're able to come up with lots of new and creative ideas. And that's just a small part of what we know about you from your test results. As for getting proper online IQ test, I think Test the nation was the most accurate one, it's on BBC website. http://www.bbc.co.uk/testthenation/iq/

I think some people are being a little too harsh on Mutakalim, Stop attacking the poor guy! If he chooses to act the way he does, then so be it! Since he's not offending you and his English isn't that hard to understand...but you don't complain about poor English & grammar you can't even read. Nevertheless, I'm sure the real reason for all this hostilety is some of you probably feel intimidated by his English. Which I don’t think is a good reason to bully someone into even removing his or her post just like that. Mutakalim, it I were you I wouldn’t pay any notice!

besbaaso Wow! I’m surprised you missed all that commotion about the Somali man named Ahmed on Big Brother this summer. I’d say you were lucky you didn’t have to withstand the embarrassment we british Somalis faced, while Ahmed was prancing about on BB making a mockery out of Islam and Somalis. When he wasn’t walking around naked and hugging homosexuals, (he was a self proclaimed ‘homophobic’), he was praying (Mashallah)

Has this thread turned into the mystery of where J11 lives, I'll have a guess and say Hayes, that's pretty close to Southall and Staines, Because Staines is here Heathrow right? either that or Northolt and Uxbridge Anyways Ali G was at his best on the 11 o'clock show and my other favourite was Daisy Daisy. She was hilariously funny!

So when you refer to traditional leaders I’m assuming you mean elder tribal leaders. I think they have long since been out dated and forgotten about much less heavily involved in politics. Warlords seem to have been the trend since the late 80’s and continue to do so. I think whole tribes do influence the politics because constantly it’s evident that a whole tribe seems to ban together on certain issues and even totally agree with one another to disagree with another tribe. However I don’t think we have actual elder tribal leaders who speak on our behalf as to what a whole tribe wants, since Somaliland is trying to rid this image that tribes and politics are interlinked. But sadly this still reminds a major issue within Somali politics. The other link on peace process doesn’t seem to be working, but from what I gather and what I’ve heard, this was a group ministered by Asha Ahmed and other ministers. Has hopes to bring together all the clan leaders and warlords to have them represented in the new Somali parliament, in the hope of bringing about peace. Well don’t know much about the politics in the south Somalia but I think from what I’ve read they seem to still have traditional clan leaders and warlords’ together working in conjunction with one another. But the new parliament would mean that the warlords would still be struggling for power while the clan leaders would merely acting as what we would call MPs or governors who would try to represent their people and try to look our for the best interest of their people. This system could work however corruption and hatred will always infect our people; it’s almost become genetic disease we

I would never let my parents range anything for me…much less my marriage, damn! You people must be having a laugh; people actually ditch the love of their life because their parents said so? Anyway…I’m too much of a ‘rebel without a cause’ to follow orders even if I liked that bloke and my parents so much as suggested it, I’d refuse! I guess I still haven't quiet grown up..lol!

Yeah but what where the grounds on which he was denied? I call that bull discrimination, walahi they've gone too far!

Ngonge you really have this great talent of making even the most simple and silliest of things seem so interesting!

You know it could have been true, though in the Quran Jiins and Insii are said to be unseen, so I don’t think we would be able to see them and then say they were ghosts. Anyway, I think it’s weird how jiin is pronounced gin and then they’re called sprits in English, so hey I guess you’d have to be pretty drunk to see any of them. (I realise that wasn’t funny, but I just had to say it! )
