FIGURES: All the Ships the Pirates are holding today.

I don't think they're anything like robin hood...but like most delusional power hungry individuals they're justifying their actions as just that! http://news.bbc.co.u k/2/hi/africa/765041 5.stm -
I love sun-bathing, it makes me great and cures that seasonal depression. Sun screen is a good idea regardless of your skin colour, you should use at least an SPF 8-16 for black skin. http://news.bbc.co.u k/1/hi/health/521975 2.stm

Islam teaches you there is a cure for every illness and God gave us knowledge for a reason. I'm just wondering when does all this scepticism will start costing lives, it already effecting quality of life.

Originally posted by Nephissa: Anytime a child steps out of line or gets an F in finger-painting class the teachers right away blame it on something; ADHD/ADD/AFG/BTJ/XNW .. yaahuuu baa la idin yiri dhe! There are many that are misdiagnosed just because they think/play differently, or relate to others differently. Diagnosis is the first step to understanding and managing learning disabilities or behavioural difficulties. If something was wrong with my child I'd like to know what it is so that I can help my child the best way possible. This could vary from supplying a child with the resources it needs to have the same opportunities as other children or allow people to understand the difficulties a child may have so that it isn't treated unfairly. I understand that unfortunately in this day and age people still do not classify people as disable unless it’s a visible disability, isn’t that the real injustice? Assessments aren’t just based on silly one off observations but thorough analysis over a lengthy period of time. Would you really want to risk disadvantaging your child, moving from school to school because you're child is constantly getting into trouble. I've seen 5 year olds being expelled from primary schools because parents refuse referrals to relevant services. How much of an education would that child recieve? and before long that child would be seen as the trouble maker, how's that for labelling?

Hey I wasn't really debating whether or not it's really the hottest place on Earth but rather trying to grasp their ethnicity and culture. But for arguments sake...considering the region, it's on the equator and there is an active volcano, I'd imagine it is in fact the hottest place on earth.

^^^ Here's a couple great website for you http://beta.civilser vice.gov.uk/ http://www.jobsgopub lic.com/ Remember that the majority of local and central government vacancies don't take CVs. The important bit is your personal/supporting statement, the key is look at the personal specification and to be precise and concise with your answers for each. You don't need to make it flow just say that how you're able in each criteria and give examples of how you've gained the relevant skills and knowledge. It's a full proof way of getting shortlisted for an interview the rest requires you to read up in the relevant field. Experience is crucial and that sometimes involves a bit of padding...but you're a graduate so research and you'll know what they want to hear! Here's an example: ----------------- Skills & Abilities- Data manipulation and interpretation My degree was extremely analytical and I have developed strong skills in data extrapolation and manipulation to identify trends and to interpret raw data, specifically in biosciences and epidemiology. I am able to use a range of techniques and methods to aggregate analyses data. I am familiar with the use of health and data indicators as published in the Compendium of Clinical Indicators and other mediums. Whilst working in xxxxx we received datasets and raw data of births in the local area to input into our database and identify our target audience and trends. --------------- I would encourage you to sort jobs in the public sector, in these difficult times job security is important. Goodluck!

After many years of working in the community I'm always coming across the same issues especially when it comes to our Somali community. I'm constantly asked by work colleagues questions around the mistrust and stigmas Somali families have when engaging with mainstream services. You hear the stories about children being removed by Social Services and Mental Health Services putting people into vegetative states and the NHS botching operations and misdiagnosing. Although I've heard some horrific stories first hand, I've also heard first hand stories about Somalis not trusting the NHS to the point where lives are lost as a result or non-compliance with medication causing further medical complications. When it comes down to it you wonder if we're endangering our lives, when Somali children don't get vaccinated because of scaremongering with the debunked reports of MMR side effects and non-compliance with TB medication. How much longer can we continue to ignore children with special needs due to the fear of "labeling" or ignore childhood obesity because we think thin is unhealthy and continue with this misguided idea that play is not apart of learning? It's extremely frustrating when you see these children missing out on opportunities because of outdated views! Early intervention is what we need to stop our children from underachieving and allow them to have the same options as children from other cultures and backgrounds. I was hoping that the nomads here might have some innovative ideas of how we can change these dangerous misconceptions. I think that part of the reason is the lack of education yet I see educated Somalis making the same mistakes, so what can we do to get our Somali community to gain more trust in mainstream service?

I watched a really interesting documentary on the BBC about the Afar desert, so I thought I'd share it with you all. According to some people, the Afar people are Somali, yet I didn't understand the language at all. I hear that the Afar desert is situated between the boarders of Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia, which is the region that Ethiopia and Somalia has been fighting over. So are they Somali? Either way it was extremely interesting to think that there is a live volcano so close to Somali and the possibility that the horn of Africa will one day be an island. I wonder the effects this might have on the Ethiopian tourist industry and their general economy with a massive coast line. Part of the documentary focused on the Afar people themselves and particularly the treatment of women, the reporter actually got tearful over the idea that women outside of the western world might have a different ideology when it comes to gender roles. Although I wouldn't consider myself as submissive I respect other cultures as long as it isn't unjust, but what would you call unjust? I'm well aware that documentaries can be bias at times, however these women were in a situation where they were forced into marriage, underwent FGM and weren't allowed to voice their opinions as freely as we are. It's sad to think that Islam gave women so many rights and these Muslim women have been striped of it. What are your thoughts? http://news.bbc.co.u k/2/hi/science/natur e/7950845.stm

Who are we welcoming back? I think that makes it even now.

I'm good thanks, yourself? About Mo, I know I give Mo a hard time and I've seen all the so-called macho macho men get all teary about nothing! But for some unknown reason to me seeing Mo cry makes me cringe to the nth degree. As for Darnell, he's very volatile of late, what's his game plan because all this "I don't have a game plan" nonsense is starting to wear thin. Please don't make me dislike you Darnell. Darnell seems very caught up in what everyone thinks of him that's inside and outside the house. More and more I find Luke, Bex and Mikey ACCURATELY predicting Darnell’s motivates, actions and even feelings. Isn't that something!
-
I'm finding it harder and harder to watch, what on earth is he crying about now? And when Mo ate those bananas without even chewing I thought does he want to go to hell or is he hungry again... He's definately not going to loose that beer belly now, he'll probably be the first person to leave the BB house who's gained weight.

Abdillah that's such a cold thing to say, just because she isn't 100% Somali doesn't mean she deserves it! She was given an opportunity like many of us. I think you should be more concerned about making the most of your opportunities... -
However, his "raped" sister and her tales about ethio feasting on her, that I don't buy. I think they maybe be some truth to the axmaaro offence, but I don't think they have raped her twice in the same day. I just dont believe that ethio army weren't able to find another girl to offend in the block that same day. Therefore they had to come for repeat performance?( this sounds like a classic sponsorship story) I wonder why we're so different to other people, stories never add up with us so much so you can't trust half the things they say.

Who would have thought the happy couple; Mario and Lisa would ever have problems. Mario's changed the really changed this week...we're seeing a different side of him and it isn't pretty. He attacks Belinda and half of this wasn't even on the highlights... http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/news/newsstory.jsp?id=6060&housemateId=250&position=75 I feel misguided!

loooooool, I love those tv gems! I think you're getting paranoid now Adam, didn’t it cross your mind that Mohammed is just naturally gassy? Considering how much crap he puts in his mouth…tinned spaghetti, eggs, mushrooms and onions for breakfast? And that was with their basic food shopping. As for Maysoon she's beautiful but a little weird... http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache...lnk&cd=6&gl=uk She’s 28 on BB but 25 on this website, things just don't add up.

No way, I'm definately staying in tonight to watch that. Jen to go!

Adam is just a willing participant. Lol your funny, Dude the sister is thanking me for the link of the Digitalspy forum in my previous post not this ''Thread/topic'' and you got some nerve telling people to get their facts straight when we all know a guy entered the house not a girl( see topic title) lool, you tell him! Anyways before he comes back to make this all about him yet again. Interesting theory about Mo and his constant eating, but what he did yesterday was beyond explanation. 9.41pm - Luke and Jennifer are in the bedroom. Jennifer tells Luke that she will sleep in the B Block bedroom tonight due to how bad she smells and not wanting to ruin her luxury bed sheets. Rex overhears and says, "We don't want a fish room". In the bedroom, Rebecca and Jennifer are preparing their beds for the night. They are all chatting but are distracted by a very loud Mohamed in the toilet. They all laugh as they hear Mohamed blame his flatulence on the carrots he has had to eat.

*Yawn* Mohammed is far too boring he doesn't even react at anything anymore. Go Darnell! Bex is just a spoilt child but I think something kicked off last night because BB live was strange. Thanks for the forum Adam!

What about waste disposal, the materials used in sanitary pads aren't exactly biodegradable. Not that I'm sort of eco-warrior but it's more of a question of where will it all go, lord knows we already have enough hazardous landfill sites/dumping grounds in major cities. My concern is more about disease control.
-
Ngonge, oh you're here!!!! I honestly thought Mohammed was you and I took your absence from the forum for the last few weeks as evidence. Well he was a little too young looking to be you after all. (why? because it was just too easy) 'member I told you, coz you ait'nt ready.
-
Adam you don't have to justify your addiction to anyone, they either like or they don't. Any hoot getting back to more BB news, Jennifer definitely looked horrible blabbering away making statements like "well let's just hope justice is served" and Sylvia saying "why is he here!" through tears while pointing at Mohammed. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Y51bVOyiygg I seriously don't think she's drawn a line under anything! And what’s up with Rebecca she’s suddenly starting fights all over and over what? AND with Darnell of all people, lol
