i have a question. i didnt read the full article, but what i want to know is in muslim countries under shariah law, why is the hijaab enforced by law? i now its obligatory, but so is prayer, etc, but i mean i can understand having clothing restrictions enforced by law, because as muslims we have standards as to what is inappropriate dress and so forth, but regulating the hijab by force kinda forces people into hypocrisy, no? as somalis its enforced by family and school, and the woman who wears the hijaab is seen as a stronger muslim in the sense that shes more serious about her faith than the one who doenst wear it, but that doesnt take much away from the morality of the girl who doesnt wear the hiijab, pending they dont participate in sinful habits. but when its enforced by law, it makes the commitment to the hijaab almost meaningless, thats like forcing people to prayer by law, we'd have hypocrits everywhere.

people, lets not forget many innocent people are infected as well, they dont deserve "punishment". there are children who are infected because of their parents acts, husbands and wives infected because of theyre spouses activities, or even through dirty needles during blood transfusions. lets not call it a lesson, when there are people who also get sick through no fault of their own.

i think it depends on alot of things, what career you choose, who youre married to,how many kids youll have and when youll have em. i dont think there is anything wrong with being a stay at home mom, but i also think that education is important (a requirement really).besides traditional women can be super women too, they home school, give to the community, are role models etc. it really depends on what youlldo.teachers, doctors, professors, shop owners, writers, artists, scientist... women/mothers can be these things, but if youre more interested in a promotion, or a bonus than your family i.e staying long hours in the work place, than thats gonna be a problem.

whatever. im dillusional, i love watching people close to me grow ever more miserable, it accually makes my life happier. how did you figure that out? gosh, i hate my parents too. the only reason i even go to school is for the secret man eaters club we have where we discuss the many ways to destroy men and make them obsolete. well now that youve figured it out i guess im gonna have to kill you. yeah youll probably make a dumb *** comment about it too how youre proud that i finally admitted it, oh youre so funny too. its one thing to make ****** comments about people you dont know and its another to make hurtful ones like the one you made above. jerk.

technically im of that generation (ive been in the west since the age of 3) and i think alot of people are too, and i can honestly say i dont see myself in youre description of somali women.besides you live in cambodia, where do you see these women youre talking about? and do you honestly think that this "change" is only affecting somali women. you know i have a theory about you...i think you just want to be taken care of and youre not meeting any women who want to take care of you and so youre ranting. i think most of the men here want that, heck i think most men want that, but i think what youre not understanding is the womans perspective. every woman will take care of their husband, its their duty to do so, thats what you do for those you care about and love. but you, sir, are only meeting women who dont give 2 $hit$ about you, (pardon my french), so why should they even make any plans of taking care of you? blah, thats my theory.

Why somali men try so hard to please somali women when there is nothing you can do to please them 3. why somali men work 16 hours 24/7 and when they come home all it is waiting for them is problems and complains 4. why somali men have to report to the police station when they have done nothing wrong, and it is all because of 911 call from their house by some lady they gave their life to... 5. Why somali men expected to give and give and never take? I wonder even more 6. Why somali men never get rich when they work long hours (research indicates all the money they make goes to the lady's relatives not even his relatives) 7. Why somali men put up to the pressure? No wonder...... 8. Some Somali men Eat QAAD more and more... 9. No wonder why Somali men marry at old age 10 no Wonder to somali men marrage means death raw, and suicide .... Peace og are you married? i was feeling sorry for you until youre second half of "i wonder". seriously how often do you see the above things? anyways to youre first half of "i wonder whys", my advice to you is to not worry cause youll never understand a woman or even properly appreciate her until you accually take part in "making" her. insha allah youll marry a woman who loves and cherishes you but youll never fully understand a woman and the kinds of things we go through and worry about, the stuff that make us tick etc, til you have a daughter of your own. to youre second half of worries/complaints id say make sure you marry the right woman, cause all you mentioned was vindictive women and what theyre doing to their husbands. are you saying were a race of vindictive women? you realise our mothers, sisters, cousins and friends fall into that category right? im starting to think you accually like when the women on this site get angry at you. peace.

well i think that has a part in why outsiders feel they can intervene. the whole country isnt united on it so there isnt a strong front regarding shariah law. can you tell me something though, they let her go according to shariah law as well right? so isnt that a victory for muslims? i mean its a small one, i dont like westerners/invaders in muslim territory preaching their ideals, especially in africa, but in islam when concerning executions (i may be wrong) but isnt it better for the "to be executed" to be spared his/ her life? i mean there are very specific ways to make sure the person is guilty , and its always better to spare the persons life right? well if they found her innocent according to shariah, (which these westerners have to study), isnt that good? they might of killed her otherwise and who knows, some of the lawyers might convert.

*comes in out of breath* oh, child hood memories huh? well i cant remember any bad stuff but i remember once my brother and i organized a tree house. we got all the neighbour hood kids to join and help us build a tree house (it didnt look anything like a treehouse, it looked like a bunch of wooden planks hammered on to a big tree). it seemed very adventurous at the time because it was our secret and it was in the middle of the woods. sometimes we'd steal wood from constructon sites nearby. the other thing that i did was adopt mice from the pet store cause otherwise they would be fed to snakes. so i would buy some of them for a dollar each and soon after the rest of the kids were buying them and my brother and the older kids started organizing races between the mice. my mother hated this. i like telling people this story but my mom always gets nervous cause shes scared people will think we accually had a mouse infestion or something.in the end all our mice died cause we couldnt figure out how to feed them clean water.

Originally posted by windtalker: I think its both. Black women are ugly AND that Black men want to take possession of and invade the property that for ever 300 years White men have denied them. Oppression is really a bummer. The thing about Thomas Jefferson - How is one single example supposed to place credibility on an entire argument? Its obvious that more Black men date and marry White women than White men marrying or dating Black women. Besides, by the time TJ was banging his Black slave mistress, his wife had aged and her performance in the sack wasn't quite as appealing as the younger Black woman! charming. anyways,i used him as an example, you know damn well he wasnt the only one going into the slave quarters to take advantage of the people he owned and THAT translates to whats going on today in the west as far as blacks and whites are concerned. i dont want to be vulgar but this is what im saying, when it comes to inter racial relationships wiht black women, men want to f- em, not wife them, not because of their "unattractivenes", but because of the social status the black woman holds, which is at the bottom since not even their men want them. (i wont even talk about the colonialist in africa)if you find black women ugly so be it, but to whos standards? black men are adopting their "masters" standards and watching theyre history go down the toilet by doing so. westerners have a pre-conceived notion of africa. they see it as animalistic, dirty, ****** and that they are our saviours. african men and women therefore take on whatever lowly characteristics these colonialists want to make themselves feel better with. black men are overly aggressive, ****** , lazy. black women are whores, ugly, un-maternal... see where im going wiht this? more black men are MARRYING white women, this is to climb the social ladder, it has nothing to do with beauty, or sexual attractiveness, otherwise id see more black men with claudia schiffer look alikes instead of the toothless trailor trash i see em with.marrying a black woman unfortunately doesnt come with any perks, but apparently lusting after her, or using her, benefits men aroung the globe.

there are beautiful women who can cook too. im just saying, they exist.

White men are usually not attracted to black women. that is not true. every body loves a black woman, its just a dirty secret because nobody is supposed to mingle with darkies (think about it nobody likes blacks, apparently not even blacks).lets not forget thomas jefferson. the black womans image according to europeans, is that we are overly sexual, just like our male counterparts, which is how they explain all the rapes that took place during slavery(and still today whenever a western army comes to africa)ex:the women were asking for it, or they purposely seduced their masters away from their dutiful, pure, white wives. look at black women today and the way they are portrayed in the media, i think the only place youll see a black woman (dark skinned) is in a music video and what are those girls referred to? video hos. im just saying, theres nothing UNATTRACTIVE about blacks, but we are perceived as less than the status quo, which apparently is white so who cares, right? F- a status quo that refuses to even acknowledge your existence. and she used tracy chapman as an example as a black bomb shell? try lauryn hill, or sanaa lathan.

*sigh* okay, im not trying to start a debate here. if you think im wrong, so be it. but let me say a couple of things. feminism in a capital/kaffir country such as this takes on a different and yes, contradictory stance to islam. but like someone stated before many aspects of it fit into islam and for the most part we practice it.(i think you can be a muslim and a feminist.) i dont think the talibans did. im sure they started out with a great future in mind (why else would they call themselves talibans), but in the end they were tyrants at best. not just to women, but to all their people. i dont watch cnn, or abc. in fact, the only main stream news i watch anymore is the bbc, the rest i get from independant papers and the internet, and even than i have to sift through the authors left wing antics. im just saying, im not a yankees cap wearing, flag waving, *remember 911* american, or pro-american for that matter. i dont think iraq or afghanistan are "liberated", but im not sad to see their last "leaders" leave either, im more troubled by who's in charge now... anyways im straying off the topic. rapes were less frequent during the taliban rule? i can see that. i can also see women being raped and being charged for adultery cause "it was their fault in the first place for walking down the street alone".i can also see some taliban members themselves commiting such acts... but whatever.i could probably find some favorable facts for any dictator or tyrant saying how much things were better off during there rule too but, thats just my opinion though... which is wrong anyways. the afghani talibans aside,(cause i know you disagre with me),do you really believe that women are treated well across the globe?

plus it propogates the capital ideal. it takes money to be as skinny as a somali in north america today, not to mention phyisically perfect (no wrinkles,no body hair, cellulite, etc, etc). and these dresses are how much? and i would wear them why?

somali men are only handsome when they have all their hair.
