  1. ummm, that story was disturbing. not the outcome but the whole manner in tricking yr daughter into marriage and that being the only way to get her to live decently. it sounds to me her parents did her a huge disfavor by spoiling her and 2) couldve equally or perhaps even in a better way changed her behavior by just taking her to hajj. i hope this is a fake story cause this family (the parents) sound like their a runner up for worst parents in the world. this isnt even a forced marriage, this was more like hit you upside the head with a frying pan, turn off the lights, SURPRISE, YOURE MARRIED!!! type deal. wth? and they dont check up on her, or even what kind of man this camel boy is til 3 years later!?!?!!? this is supposed to be a positive spin on arranged marriages?!!?!
  2. its all psychological. everybody in africa has this idea of the outside world as offering bigger better things, every other country is just dripping with diamond and gold but in reality were not missing much. if they made it outside of somalia what would become of them? laborers and house cleaners.
  3. hot tempers... and htis guy was a doctor? goodness, i hope she is allowed jannah and this guy gets what he deserves.
  4. this is why i cant stand kuffars anymore. youre guilty because your muslim and we hate america just for the sake of hating. we are backwards and ****** and we should prance around half naked because clothing yourself and acting with modesty fosters impure fanatical thoughts. this was my favourite part:Fact - Malaysian Banks play a Key Role in funneling (laundering) money for Muslim Terrorist Groups around the world including Al-Qaida and Abu Sayyaf, see follow the money, below. Bank Negara, the Malaysian National Central Bank along with the ruling UMNO (United Malay National Organization) Political Party endorse such banking transactions. These are directly controlled by two key figures in Malaysia, The Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad; and his bag man, former Finance Minster, YB Tun Daim Zainuddin, both of whom are Muslims !! GTFOHWTBS!!! muslims in control of muslim countries. the gall of it all.

Wouldn’t that give America a reason to attack Somalia and meddle in our affairs? I really hope these people start thinking about the consequences of their statements and actions --- Somalis are having enough trouble as it is without the added problems of being liked to Al-Qaeda and Americas BS! yup, not only that, but each rival clan/ warlord can just point a finger at so and so and just SAY hes a terrorist or has links to terror organizations as a means to continue their ridiculous fights, and big brother USA will attack and say they found the 6th (3rd, 4th im not paying attention) september 11 hijacker.
  6. am i the only one who cant see the grooms face? he looks like the invisible man.
  7. i got 10$ on the baboons. theyre smart lil buggers. they might knife you. look at the guy with the tree trunk in his hands. hahahha!
  8. and be scared to click it? like you can hear the rumbling, the yelling and the gunshots from outside? i feel that way about a couple of threads in the women and politics forums. sometimes you guys will even bring yr bickering into other "innocent" threads. you know who you are, im not naming names. *spot light* *wardrobe change in shiny beaded tuxedo* *cues the love below* *sings in high pitched voice* lets kiss, not fight. try to do whats right tonight// make love, not war, what the hell are we living for?
  9. nur do you come up with this stuff by yourself? i must say, i find your nurtel bulletins very amusing. youve got quite an imagination. so how did they respond? did they just post it up without reading it?
  10. Originally posted by Qac Qaac: How about u guys cover up very well, and the guy won't even say to u hi. it is mainly you guys fault. i would say don't give any guy a chance. how u know if it was inocent Hi, from the person's past, if he is known as player, then u know what that hi means, but if he is just a normal miskiin like Nuune, then his Hi is clean. but if u smile for the guy, then complain of him when he says hi, what is that? im covered from head to toe thank you, only my face and hands showing just like the rasuul (s.a.w) advised. besides, its not like im planning on seeing these people again if i DO talk to them. im saying id like to know before its too obvious (when they ask for yr number, or to see u again) that im being hit on. im a smiling person, i smile to strangers all the time, i thought that was a good thing. yesterday (accually 2 days ago) this man hit me with his bag, i smiled to show that i was okay, he than started talking to me. okay whatever, its an hour bus ride, but than he asks for my number... QUOI??? i politely said no thank you and the rest of the bus ride was really awkward. the hijab, apparently, isnt a free pass to not get asked out by strange men.
  11. ^^^ to rudy. be afraiid kuu laha. i have 3 brothers and a number of uncles and cousins at my disposal waiting for an excuse to beat a man up. a while ago a white guy who knew my brother accually tried to pick me up. i told my brother and now the guy doesnt even say hello to me on the streets. pessimistic sue, thats what im talking about. how conceited would it be of me to just assume that every guy who says hi to me is trying to holla. so i dont say anything until its "can i call you sometime?" obvious.
  12. when a guy compliments you does it automatically mean hes hitting on you? cant it be an innocent compliment? and how are you supposed to decipher an innocent compliment from a pick up line? or how about a simple chat while waiting for the bus. how can you tell if its a simple convo to pass the time or for alterior, motives. see, i never know until its really obvious.
  13. i dont like people saying were mixed with arabs, or saying were "exotic". it makes me uncomfortable.
  14. do you have any sisters? im not saying you must defend all somali women but you do realise this term is targeted to ALL somali women, and therefore refers to yr mother, aunts, sisters, cousins, e.t.c. i think its sad that you dont take offence to it.
  15. i dont date but when i was about 11 yrs old i had a friend whom in our 6th grade parlance wed refer to as "boy crazy". anyways, one day i was assigned as best friend (i was her best friend, but she was not mine. i dont give away that title so easily. i was a snob even than.)to give her b-friend a letter she wrote in class. anyways i go up to him with the note in hand and tell him to read it. he looks ate me, reluctant to take the paper from my hands and says, almost horrified "i have a girl friend." walahi i couldnt believe it, a pre-emptive rejection. i wasnt even interested in the boy. i told him the letter was FROM his g-friend and simply tried to avoid him for the rest of my life. this situation has spilled over into my adult life cause whenever i see a farax i wait til they say "hi" first in case they think im trying to pick them up or something. ----------------------------------------------- now when i was younger and i had to reject a guy id be really rude about it. id laugh, ignore him or just be angry for being approached but now i try to be nicer about it cause its true youve put yrself out on a limb, but my favourite tactic is still to ignore you. no harm no foul right? you can comfort yrselves by believing im deaf.
  16. *chokes on sob* *gives you a heart felt stare* why?why? wont someone think of the children? on a serious note, that site truly did disturb me. the language, the content the outright racism, qabilism and sexism was just saddening because if i discovered that site before sol my opinion of somalis would be low (our community in montreal is only now growing. when i was growing it was just me and my cousins). btw whats this trend of calling somali women cheap and clean? and why do i have the feeling that this is a term young somali men have coined for girls that have rejected them.
  17. and i think i may be scarred for life. im gonna start a new screening process whenever i meet new somalis where the first question is "do you frequent s/net? what do you think of it?". *shivers* people arent you frightened? those psychos may be yr relatives, yr friends. how is it that their boards are so disgusting? i mean its free memberships just like here, so what is it? less policing? if thats so than we have just as many psychos lurknig around here. *shivers* walahi the last time i felt like this (ya know the feeling that we live in a morally bankrupt society) was when i visited a white supremacist site and lurked in their chat rooms. the 20 minutes i was there encited so many squirms and flinches i think a passerby might of thought i was practising an ace ventura impersanation.
  18. O M G!!! so the attackers were muslim extremists now? so extreme in their beliefs that they would cross dress to make their point clear? and what do you do to avoid conflict with radical muslims? you ban hte hijab thats what you do.
  19. WAIT!!! so these guys were wearing normal veils? or were they wearing niqaabs? ooh damn, they must of been the prettiest metro- sexuals around or ladies from that area must be hella hairy.
  20. no offense or anything but men arent exactly filling mohamed's (peace and blessing from the heavens upon him)shoes, and probably wont anytime soon. im just saying, if youre nervous about being immasculated by a woman older htan you, (which is a justifialble complaint) maybe you should evaluate what you constitute as masculinity. i sincerely doubt the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would be constantly worrying about hes "role as a man", "putting his foot down to show whos boss"... i dont know all that seems like the worries of an insecure man. and perhaps some of that props goes ot khadija herself for being a supportive wife but... *trails off*
  21. you dont need to be stitched up to not do anything with a man yr not married to, and rudy was implying that he knows some women who are stitched up and still do "it". if theyre doing "it" with men they are not married to, than both parties must be hella dedicated to sin (youll work up a sweat prior to the act, how are you gonna explain that... i didnt mean to, it just happened. she looked so nice and so i got the scissors...). wait i just got yr reference and gross, you ve just entered perverted old man status (you may be young, but youve got a filthy old man waiting to pop out of you). are you saying you specifically look for virgins to de-virginize with no intention to marry?
  22. o god, i just had to ask this question, and in doing so i might just become even cruder than you rudy. my q is, if they are... you know, "curcimicized" than arent they shut? like for good? how is it physically possible for you to do anything prior to marriage. the both of you must of been dedicated.
  23. people do that already dont they? they call them "daqaan celiis" kids.
  24. if forgot to ask a question, here goes: marshmallows or gummie bears
