ARSENAAAAAAAAAL....ARSENAAAAAAAAL....ARSENAAAAAL! As u've already guessed, I'm a gunner's fan! But Man U r good too....it hurt me when Becks became injured....very bad news 4 England. I really hope he recovers 4 the World Cup (insha Allah). I hate Liverpool, mainly 'cos my EX supports them, but also 'cos they r a crap team!...lol. I kno I'll probably get alot of grief 4 saying that but I DON'T CARE!! PS: Glad to see so many Arsenal fans in here.

Ex-Dane: Sis, if u live in London, let me know 'cos I can help u wit the make-up bit. It's taken me quite a while to master it myself, but I'm pretty good wit make-up now. I do all my family and friends' make-up on special occasions. If u r really light ('cos u complained 'bout make-up being too dark), I suggest u try make-up ranges by Lancome or Clinique....they can customise foundations 4 u by mixing darkish colours wit the lightish ones to find u the perfect shade. Bobbi Brown also makes really beautiful foundations that r perfect for Somali complexions. The best powders are by MAC. Best lip-gloss is Juicy Tubes by Lancome (they r all clear wit different flavours....my fave is the orange flavour), they are a bit pricey though. But I guess we all know that if u want quality products, u hav to pay for them dearly! Anywayz, PM me if u want more info or advice. [This message has been edited by BARWAAQO (edited 04-13-2002).]

If u want a clean break wit the ex...then stay away from his friend. As someone already said, boys do talk and if doesn't work out wit the friend....then u might get an unflattering reputation. However, if u feel very strongly 'bout the guy, then give him a go. Its ur call either way.

U r tall, thin and flat-chested, right?....well sounds like u r perfectly proportioned to me! I don't know wat u r complaining about girl!

Unfortunately most of our people are very naive & they love clans & they think they know soo much bout Politics, lol. Perhaps we may be able to change the lifestyle of the next generations but this one, I don't think there's much hope. But we can always dream of better days! Just put ur hands together & say a little prayer! Love ExDane p.S I love the way MrJibriil said sumthin like; 'Not all men are like dat' Hehehe remember ur own words and how much u generalized all of us Somali sisters? U joker! Anyways it's all love

If u love the guy (which u probably do considering u've been with him for 3 years) He's Muslim (which u said he is) He wants u as much as u want him! He cares for u, makes u happy, makes u smile, simply makes ur day when u see him! Walaal go for it, don't hesitate! My sister is married to a white Muslim man he's also American & she's happy, so is he, to me dats de most important thing. & between u n me, he does the cleanin how many Malis would do dat? lol. But whatever u do, let ur parents know. I'm sure it will be a shock @ first but they'll overcome it Insha Allah coz they love u & only want whats best 4 u! Trust 4rom ur sis ExDane

Taqwa ur right too! Although I know what I would do personally if I really wanted him I'd make sure he'd feel the vibes! Peace n Luv ExDane ur sis Ps Good Luck Sis

Well, Jano-doon You are somehow right to lebel men loosers and drag abusers, I as an individual have grown up in places where drag using is somewhat common, i never took drags though. So, that gives me the rite to ask Somali men to change too. Jana-doon, you mentioned your trip to Hargeisa, good to hear that, but hargeisa is different compared to what we see in Europe. The matter here is the percentage of women who get assimulated with the western cultures is larger than the percentage of men. This fact is that though most men chew jaad and their hopes in becoming active family members is bleak, women are in a different circle, much worse circle. I agree the course of these problem is men but women are making it worse. And we need to work together to end these cultural erosion. Not all men are jaad chewers and loosers, I for one is in vain about about whats happening to us in the diapora. I have started this topic to first raise this issue with women then men. I wont just accuse women and let the men sleep in marfishes. There must be something we can do about whats happening to us, for the better of our society it is good to acknowledge when a brother/sister spots a catastrophe coming towards us. WE have to change, sooner than later.

I agree with Ameenah! Vaseline is soo great I cant believe no1 else has mentioned it! I use Vaseline on my lips & even on my hair when I run out of my coconut oil formula I use Vaseline on my eyes instead of eye shimmers. I use Vaseline when I get a cut. Without Vaseline I don't know what I would do! I wash my face soo many times durin the day, approx 7times, 5times for Salah & then once in the morning & once @ nite just b4 I go to bed-after I've brushed my teeth. I use Vaseline when I'm off for bed just after I've combed, put coconut oil formula on my hair and made 2 long braids/plats. I don't use any make-up I hate it coz I cant apply it, lol! Anyways Alxamdulilah I dont need it, U've probably seen people dat actually look uglier with make-up I guess I'm one of them. Plus I cant find any suitable colours, I can't use the products my Somali friends use coz they're often too dark but I cant use the products white people use, coz obviously dats too light. I'm scared of goin to the Hair Saloon, coz I just wouldn't trust any1 else with my hair except for Mama lol. I wear Hijab Alxamdulilah, but I still take care of my hair to the max just for my own good, I wouldn't dream of goin outside without havin my hair done first, I just wouldn't feel right! So in dat sense I gotta agree with Honesita, u gotta look good 4 urself & also for ur own confidence!!! I hardly ever get any spots alxamdulilah, but just b4 my period I get little spots dat look like goosebumps on the top of my forehead (but u wont see them coz of my scarf Does any1 else get spots durin or b4 ur period? Thanx for all those good beauty tips especially the one bout dark elbows & knees I hate showing those areas @ weddings and so on, I always cover it with the Garbasaar-lol. I have another question however, does any1 know how to apply eyeliners??? I have spent hours n hours @ home tryin to master the art but have failed & have given up. Lots of luv ExDane ur SisText

Bismillahi Raxmaani Raxiim "The moral standards of the woman in a society are always an extension of the men's morals and behaviors" If we accept that above statement then it is clear that the Somali men are to blame if the woman are bad as Jibriil claims. I would personally say that the failure of the Somali men is a fundamental change in Somali society. Never before in our history have Somali men been this unproductive, this big drugabusers, this big Sineeystayaal, this big clan extremists etc etc. If this is true which it is then how can we as somali men not assume that our looserness is going to rubb of on the woman of our society? Let us be true to ourselves, I was in Hargeysa this summer and I live in the US and let me tell you that in both places Somali woman are progressive while we men are degenerating into a state of nothingness(majority). The woman back home are the ones bringing in the money to the children while the men go and chew in the mafrish, the woman work for unity while the men are obsessed with politcs and clan divisions. I have seen so many Somali guys here in the dispora who drink alcohol, do heavy drugs(let alone qaad), have earrings, have tattoes, have sex before marriage, fight with their parents, become criminals etc and I have myself done a few of those things when I was new to America(I was a Jahiil) but I learned the truth Alxamdulillah. Therefore Jibriil I think it is unacceptable to mention Somali woman in a negative light when we as men are the root causes for this cultural demise. The Truth about Somali woman are that they are very strong and do not accept everything like gaalo woman and some Somali youths don't like that(I used to be one of them). Somali woman are what saved the Somali people from complete annihilation which we at many points were near. Asalamacaleykum Janna-Doon
