I believe FGM is completely wrong and unnecesary. Yet, like sister Ameenah pointed out, sisters back home may not share the same opinions maybe due to lack of education. S-sis, I understand you wanted to make a point clear to SHOCK but I don't understand why you have to use that situation. It seems as though you're saying pre-marital sex is a BIG sin for the covered sisters only and that it's not such a big deal for the other sisters, who don't wear the islamic dress or the brothers. Wearing the ISLamic dress is an obligation for all sisters, but just because you don't wear the dress doesn't mean you're not accountable for your actions. My point? If two people commit the same act, they will get the same punishment, unless one asks for forgiveness, or one is unaware of the consequences of the action. Zina is a major sin, but people do make mistakes, as terrible as they might be...but ALLAH is most-forgiving, seeing that they sincerely repent. Every time i watch TV I hear people saying that mulsims Hate America and Americans. But when i get on the net i get the impression that the hate is going the other way. On the somaliaonline boards i never heard ppl saying as hateful things as ppl on ABCNEWS.com and other websites. For example they talk of nuking muslim cities like nothing. Hmmmm interesting topic! Firstly I agree with UnixGuru & Hibo Secondly Najma ur rite about Aids & other diseases being prevented by havin by circumcision. I watched a programme about some Clans in Africa who practised circumcision & how they had a smaller percentage of people diagnosed with HIV/AIDS & other diseases caught through sexual intercourse (or STD). But the programme was about the way a circumced penis had less chances of catching STD's. Thirdly Mina May Allah bless our mothers for daring to stand up against the teachings of their culture. Dat must really have been hard. But then again Somali women are tough people. We as Muslims shouldn't oppress anybody and I believe takin away somethin which Allah (SWT) has provided us with is oppression! We shouldn't & haven't got the ability to mess & alter the perfect creations of Allah (SWT). Insha Allah things will change but it wont be over nite! guys First of all thanx to hibo for her understanding that this forum is to express your mind and opinions, however I also would like to make sure those people who misunderstood my topic that i am not a racist and I also would like to opologie for the word monkeys which i should not use it, my point was we should stick to our queens somalian queens that is all, and the guy who said he knows a somalian lady who is married to a japanesse man, man a somalian lady who is married a japanese man and has 4 boys live here in cambodia and man nice kids but no future the dad is druck man and the boys have no idea what they are and have no religion and the theory goes to men who marry non somali or let me say non muslim ladies, my friends married asians and i love the kids they are cute but man I would not do personaly, thanx hibo again for understanding my point, and If i don't leave Asia or a somalian lady would not come here i rather not to marry at all, jaaw and remmeber guys freedom of speach love and peace to Somali people and my wishes to everyone it is Cambodian new year so wish me happy new years guys
