  1. I dont know what you guyz see in that BIG bellied old man. Besides a little peace, there has been no economic progress in the country as far as I know. I think it would be a good idea if he stepped OUT (dead or otherwise).

    War Debate

Full-scale wars are rare and far between, but when they occur, each causes devastation and destruction on a scale never witnessed before (WW1, WW2, Vietnam war, Afghan/Soviet war, Gulf war, Yugoslav war, and the recent 'terrorism' war in Afghanistan). In the last twelve years, battles in which annual deaths amounted to 1,000 or more were raging in Angola, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Burundi, Chechnya, Columbia, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Guatmala, India, Iraq, Kashmir, Kuwait, Lebanon, Liberia, Mozambique, Palestine, Peru, Rwanda, Siera Leone, Somalia, S. Africa, Sudan and Tibet. In 1988 alone, there were 111 organised-armed conflicts taking place in 80 different countries, with at least 80 different governments openly sending armed forces into battle. In each of these cases human beings were mindlessly and indiscriminately subjected to personal aggression. The result was not only death and injury to civilians but also the loss of income, homes and family support. And in every one of these cases the majority of victims are women and children. * Sources: (Freedman, 1994, WAR, Oxford University Press), (Vickers, 1993, Women and War, Zed Books), (Shaw, 1984, War, State and Society, Macmillan). KEEPING THE ABOVE INFORMATION IN MIND: Are wars in general and civil wars in particular a solution to political/ social problems or are they the cause of even more complicated problems? Feel free to share ur ideas and opinions.
  4. Sophist, my friend Welcome to Somalia Online, it is an honour to have you here with us. Gacma furan sxb NB: Sophist, sxb how is Oxford? [This message has been edited by JamaaL-11 (edited 04-30-2002).]
  5. How i jilted comfort milked time to gain the precious dollar i send every weekend How often i swerved crevened by life In fear my broken heart would never mend Thats why i was confussed and so in pain Thats why i masked emotions unshaken in purpose but now I can feel the breeze ahead of pleasure Tainting my dreams with scents of a rose Eased is my spore that needn't to sweat Time has changed my bitter sweat to sweet
  6. Sophist: Welcome! I agree wit Soul_Lady....this is indeed a wonderful site. I'm sure it will exceed all ur expectations. Enjoy.
  7. Sophist, Welcome to the most Beautiful & Heavily Moderated Nomad site ever - The Admins without a reasonable doubt earned a Service Excellency that deserves to be applauded(from my part) - This is a site I can Proudly present and invite to non Somalis. Thank You Somaliaonline. God Bless. ------------------ "He tried to be somebody by trying to be like everybody, which makes him a nobody."
  8. Tamina, Thanks very much indeed for your kind welcome, I do utterly appreciate. This is the kind of things that draw any cultured person to this corner of the web. People actually go their way out to be nice (perhaps they are naturally nice) where other places, they tend to be exceedingly spiteful and malevolent. Indeed this is a difference. Let me say you have a cool signature.
  9. I hope you enjoy your stay here. Wlc aboard ------------------ "The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Almighty can stand up to anything."
  10. Salaams, Confounded delightfully I am with the prospect of being of an active member of this esteemed website (though I shall not exercise the right to set up my little corner). I had some sort of knowledge of its existence. And I like the name Nomad. (Quite fitting name I must say) but I was quite disillusioned as to whether I bother to sign up or not. But after careful consideration I came to the decision that I should. And here I am amongst young Somalis all over the globe. Exchanging their views (I hope politely). I can just secretly hope that it will not take the same path like the infamous Somali net. I hope I will enjoy my stay and will contribute and copy some of my older literature I have written on the Somali net- granted that is okay with administration. The Sh*t List

Gotta warn ya... Its Grossss.. !! GHOST SHIT: That's the kind where you feel the shit come out, have shit on the toilet paper, but there's no shit in the toilet. CLEAN SHIT: The kind where you shit it out, see it in the toilet, but there is nothing on the toilet paper. WET SHIT: The kind where you wipe your butt 50 times and it still feels unwiped, so you have to put some toilet paper between your butt and your underwear so you don't ruin them with a brown stain. SECOND WAVE SHIT: It happens when you're done shitting. You've pulled your pants up to your knees, and then you realize that you have to shit some more. BRAIN HEMORRHAGE THROUGH YOUR NOSE SHIT, or POP A VEIN IN YOUR FOREHEAD SHIT: The kind where you strain so much to get it out that you practically have a stroke. RICHARD SIMMONS SHIT: The kind of shit where you shit so much you lose 30 pounds. CORN SHIT: Self explanatory. LINCOLN LOG SHIT: The kind of shit that is so huge that you're afraid to flush the toilet without breaking it up into a few dozen chunks. "Gee, I Wish I Could Shit" SHIT: It's the kind where you want to shit, but all you do is sit on the toilet cramped and fart a few times. BLOODY SHIT: Self explanatory. SPINAL TAP SHIT: That's the kind that hurts so much coming out that you'd swear it was leaving you sideways. WET CHEEKS SHIT, or POWER DUMP: That's the kind that comes out of your ass so fast that your butt cheeks get splashed with the toilet water. LIQUID SHIT: The kind where a yellowish-brown fluid shoots out of your butt, splatters all over the inside of the toilet bowl, the whole time chronically burning your anus. MEXICAN FOOD SHIT: in a class all its own.

  17. That just got me thinking! It sure is crazy - Tho'I may say not crazy enough to come up with the "Ebonics" Blacks and most of the Somali kids tend to speak these days - Relatively simple-minded approach affecting them academicly and socialy - There'r countless # of Somali kids who'r just dropping out of school, having troubles in understanding standard English! Many argue Ebonics is the only way out of keeping these kids in school - which btw is about to be recognized as a Language ie; the "White man's game" of completely disabling/handicapping the brains - A smart way of Dooming many Generations to come if you ask me! God Bless. ------------------ "He tried to be somebody by trying to be like everybody, which makes him a nobody."
