Hey guys, guess what? We found your thread! I registered really quickly to let you know that not everyone at itshappening.com is anti-islamic. A lot of us here in the states recognize that Islam is not synonymous with mindless slaughter. You have to bear in mind though, that right now, there are some guys running around saying 'kill Americans' and waving the Quran. Understandably, some of the more narrow minded have taken this to mean all Muslims hate Americans, and out of self-preservation have decided to hate right back. Actually, a lot of us at itshappening.com would really like to see more intelligent discussion with Muslims. And you're right to say you need to speak up. Most of the 'pro islamic' posts on itshappening are : YOO DURTY STINKENN JUW LUVARS GONNA DIE!!! Well, it's kind of hard to have an intelligent debate that leads off from a post like that. We are not all pro israel, either. A lot of Americans are getting sick of seeing billions pumped into a situation in which both parties seem to be getting better and better at killing eachother, rather than sitting down and settling their differences like mature adults. The things the israeli government has done have been truly disturbing to a lot of us, but at the same time, the palestinian techniques have been less than humane as well. There's a lot messed up in the world, and, yes, there's a lot wrong with America, but there's a lot right with it too. The day after 9/11, in a relatively small city, a car drove around with palestinian flags waving. Nobody cursed, or threw rocks, or shot at them. The freedoms we have here in the US are deeply ingrained, and we respect the rights of others to differ. Many of us welcome intelligent discourse. It is that diversity, that ability to see many viewpoints, that allows our country to react to changes and remain strong. While some of us are dedicated to rooting out the terrorists who chose to attack our nation, we are mature and intelligent enough to recognize that those terrorists do not represent the whole of Islam. Please do not assume that the ranting racists among us represent all of us, either.
