  1. Majority of Somaliland's budget is from its own revenue from ports and airports > $152Million. No other Somali entity apart from the recognized French breast fed Djibouti can match it.
  2. The budget of Somaliland actually is approximately $220 Million for the year 2014. Mogadishu or south Somalia can't even raise $6 million from its revenues ports and airports, how embarrassing. "In his opening statement the minister of finance said “I do hereby present to you the reviewed draft of this year’s budget 2.910 Billion Somaliland Shilling or $152Million, in addition to the budget of the various government agencies the budget is expected to total more than $220 Million a 37% rise compared to last year’s Budget which was $185,714,033." http://somalilandpress.com/somalilandthe-minister-of-finance-present%E2%80%99s-the-annual-2014-annual-national-budget-to-parliament-44787
  3. Lol Maybe the southerners think $6.5 million revenue is a achievement, somebody should tell them Somaliland is making $200+ million from the airport and port revenues. That is what you call effective management.
  4. Che -Guevara;983457 wrote: If this was Berbera, it would have been welcomed as progress, not a takeover. Nope. Somaliland airports and ports is for Somalilanders.
  5. Federal Government-Turkish Company, Al Bayrak agreement,” adding that Al Bayrak would run Mogadishu port for 20 years by renovating the buildings and improving the port service. Abdiweli noted that Somalia Federal Government expects Al Bayrak to increase the current port revenue from $300,000 to $6.5 million. Mogadishu (RBC) Somali cabinet of ministers have on Sunday endorsed a new agreement with a Turkish company called Al Bayrak which will manage Mogadishu seaport, RBC Radio reports. “The council of ministers unanimously endorsed the agreement by the Ministry of Ports and Public Works with Al Bayrak company to manage the seaport of Mogadishu in the coming 20 years.” A press statement from the Prime Minister’s office said. According to the press statement, Al Bayrak will reconstruct, modernize and develop Mogadishu seaport. Another Turkish owned company, Favori has been granted 20 years agreement to lead the management and handling services of the Mogadishu’s Aden Abdulle Airport. http://www.raxanreeb.com/2013/10/somalia-turkish-company-to-manage-mogadishu-main-seaport/
  6. The government of Somaliland said soon there will be a new Somaliland E passport.
  7. Does anybody have population statistics for Somali Bantus in USA? They seem to be growing rapidly in population.
  8. Rahima Nope. The Somali women I talk to are not keen on foreigners, only insecure halimos run after foreigners and later cry back to the community when he divorces her with 2 unwanted foreign kids.
  9. Ibtisam Halimos who race mix 98% of them don't marry what can be considered successful, so the idea of successful mix race kids born to Somali woman moving to Somaliland does not seem feasible because it doesn't exist to being with . Whether their families are successful or not, I am not into the corrupting of the society. The idea of foreign fatherless kids born to Somali women running around the place just seems too immoral in Somaliland standards and many Somalilanders will agree. Luckily our people are very anti integration from outsiders and understand the dangers corruption of their society poses. You might have western standards when it comes to integration and all that stuff, but Somalilanders back home disagree.

  11. Ibtisam Indr I agree with you discrimination is not good, however we have to face the reality. Somalilanders don't want others to integrate into their society. So we can't force them on something they don't like in their own land. This piece explains it well. Integration problems An Ethiopian refugee, who requested anonymity, expressed his displeasure at Somaliland’s decision, saying most refugees were afraid to speak up because they feared being kicked out of the country. “We have no proper protection; one can be sent back anytime; we have no freedom, we are even afraid to say anything because we may not leave this compound before action is taken against us,” he said. He said the UN was urging the refugees to integrate into the local community, but “the Somalilanders don’t want us; the best way we could do this is by inter-marrying but how can we do this if they won’t even interact with us?”
  12. *Ibtisam The Las Anod example is not criminality well not entirely. Some of them were just ordinary hard working people from south Somalia as the elders said , but of course they were brushed with the same brush by the authority as the few criminals and deported. So this shows even if your a honest hard worker, deportation is never far away. Anyway I don't think Somaliland can afford many refugees or asylum seekers, so it is best to minimize unless we are talking about highly educated economic immigrants.
  13. So there you go folks, don't trust Ibtiisam on anything Somaliland. She is a girl and naturally kinder as a result wants to sell the populace false Utopia about Somaliland rather than the reality. If you're a refugee or a asylum seeker you're always in danger of being deported because you don't belong there. Somaliland citizenship is a insurance though. If you're not a Somalilander don't bother getting comfortable and thinking it is your country as the Oromos and southern Somalis have learned the hard way one day when they were deported.
  14. Ibtisiam I am sorry to inform you but you're the one living in a bubble not me . Now back to the reality. Somaliland is not safety for all. Deportation of southern Somalis from Somaliland Las Anod ejects southern Somalis over alleged links to al-Shabaab ;69 wrote: Thursday, September 06, 2012 The Sool regional administration in northern Somalia has issued a decree telling certain young southern Somalis who work in Las Anod to leave by September 12th because of their alleged links with al-Shabaab. Sool Administrator Mohamed Mohamud Jeniyare described the targeted individuals as being between the ages of 17 and 30, originally from Bay, Bakol and Benadir regions, and affiliated with the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab organisation. . http://www.hiiraan.com/news4/2012/Sept/25884/las_anod_ejects_southern_somalis_over_alleged_links_to_al_shabaab.aspx Deportation of Oromos from Somaliland Somaliland deports Ethiopian refugees including children ;69 wrote: November 2011 HARGEISA — Despite drawing public condemnation, Somaliland deported more than 20 Ethiopians back to their native country this week after they had been denied asylum. It is understood the asylum-seekers were rounded-up by police two weeks ago when the group gathered outside the office of Interior Ministry to protest. Said to be led by self-appointed committee, the group of asylum-seekers tried to express their grave concerns before police took them into custody. They were locked up in Hargeisa’s central prison for two weeks. The group said to be 22 in total, 15 men, 5 women and 2 children under the age of two, were handed over to Ethiopian authorities in the border town of Tog-Wajale.The refugees blamed their deportation on the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) saying Somaliland authorities acted in consultation with the Rights UN agency. They added it was the UNHCR’s responsibility to guarantee refugee safety in the first place and suggested that the UN agency had abandoned them. In 2006 Somaliland informed UNHCR that it was no longer open to refugees or asylum seekers. . http://somalilandpress.com/somaliland-deports-ethiopian-refugees-including-children-25627 Case closed.
  15. Never. Just like the Arabs haven't lost their clan structure despite all those oil money and high skyscrapers. Maybe southerners are ok with mudding their identity but not Somalilanders. The whole reason for reviving and the creation for Somaliland is a safe homeland for the people of Somaliland. So don't hold your breath.
  16. Nobody cares what personal choice some obscure insecure halimo might make. Just remember if your kids are foreigners they will never be accepted in our society , at least in Somaliland. Nobody cares if you marry a Nigerian and stay in Nigeria, dhuulkeena lama keeni karo laakin.
  17. I was born in this land aad ka hadlaysiid and grew up there, I went there for a holiday. So perhaps it is you that is living in a Utopia where integration and everything is perfect Lol. That is not the only reason, read the news and even ask Jacaylbro how the local kids looks always look at him with his different skin color and the fact he was born to a Somaliland woman and his father being non Somalilander makes it worse. They are ok with people visiting their country for holiday but not integration. Lol as for me Burco ba igu qoran passportka. I don't hide who I am. In Mogadishu different cultures are more accepted there whether your Ugandan, Burundian, Nigerian, Cad Cad etc. So had you said Mogadishu instead of Somaliland I would have believed you. Somaliland is not open to everyone don't mislead people, if it was open to everyone why are Oromos and southern Somalis deported? Like I said wake up from the dreams.
  18. You can't be a Somalilander since you're from Cadaale, south Somalia.
  19. Somaliland nationality is Somalilander and the ethnicity of the nation is Somali.
  20. Somalians they mean people from Somalia (displaced refugees). If you haven't noticed there is a certain refugee camps in Ethiopia for displaced Somalis from south Somalia as such the one in Kebri Bayax.
  21. Well that is different your comparing a full Somali and a half Nigerian. Your question should have been a Nigerian with a duriyaad mother who lives with us and a Nigerian looking guy with a duriyaad father but doesn't live with us. Well obviously the Nigerian looking guy with the Somali father, because he has a Somali identity > Tribe. It never comes to that anyway most kids with Somali father and non Somali woman know their roots example MP Amir Adan.
  22. You posted what we already know, ethnicity is determined by ancestry ( especially paternal lineage aka father lineage) and what comes with it (homeland) , history, cultural heritage, physical appearance ). Wa maxay bacaacdan aad la ordaysiid marka? Ma hooyo ba lagu abtirsada?
  23. Mad_Mullah That is why I am anti immigration to our land from outsiders. We don't want bachi baza in our culture, even niiko is considered ceeb and looked down on in Somaliland.
  24. Ibtisam That is false. Maybe your talking about some white girls, but no one likes a foreigner men coming to their land. Ask the racism Nimcaan Bowden faced a so called white born to a Somaliland woman about 22 years ago . He now wishes to leave Somaliland to a different country because the discrimination he faced. So don't sell people false dreams that aren't there but the reality, the locals if they see anybody with a different color than the usual Somalilanders who don't belong to them they start to bully them. So if the whites are facing racism, do you think Nigerians and Bengalis will be welcomed Lol? Riiyo baad ku noshahay Ibtisaam, they will be called curry eaters and adoon. You don't know our people back home well, we all know how Oromos are already treated and deported daily. The locals are more ok with other people visiting their country but not integration into their society , the whole Somaliland citizenship is anti integration from other non Somaliland communities. They even discriminate against other non Somaliland Somalis and here Ibtisam is trying to convince us they will accept Bengalis and Nigerians in their society Lool. Let's be realistic.
