1. By the way this is not only a Mogadishu problem. I have been reading the news recently that police in Hargeisa also arrested Shia missionaries. No new religion or sect should be imported to Somali areas it will cause unnecessary problems in the future otherwise.
2. There is already Shia Somalis in the diaspora. Somali minds are easily brainwashed, in my opinion it is important to protect the vulnerable minds of the people of south Somalia, convincing them to become Shia is as easy as convincing them to become suicide bombers, it is not far fetched.Granted there is obviously financial interest in it for the Mogadishu admin but it is also the right decision stopping the spread of Shiasm in Somalia.
3. I don't think it is booty clapping when Iran is seeking actively to convert your population with their agents. Iranian ships have also robbed Somali seas stealing huge amount of fish. Better the devil you know than the one you don't (Iran). Somalia arrests two Iranians over Shiite indoctrination in Mogadishu MOGADISHU (HOL) – Somalia’s security forces arrested two Iranians it accused of converting locals to Shiitism doctrine, a development which underlines the tricky relationship between the Sunni horn of Africa nation and the overwhelmingly Shia country of Iran. According to authorities, the two were arrested during a religious ceremony joined by dozens of locals at a hotel in Mogadishu last week. http://www.hiiraan.com/news4/2015/Dec/103300/somalia_arrests_two_iranians_over_shiite_indoctrination_in_mogadishu.aspx
4. Good on them. The last thing the south needs is spread of Shia which will result in sectarian war in the future on top of the existing terror and clan clashes problem. One less problem prevented. Somalia cuts ties with Iran in latest Saudi-led diplomatic war "In a statement issued by Somalia’s foreign ministry, Somali government said it has severed its diplomatic relations with Iran after a ‘careful’ consideration and in response to the Republic of Iran’s continuous ‘interference’ in Somalia’s internal affairs." http://www.hiiraan.com/news4/2016/Jan/103468/somalia_cuts_ties_with_iran_in_latest_saudi_led_diplomatic_war.aspx
5. ^USA did close Dahabshiil back in 2015. U.S. banks cut off cash transfers to Somalia amid terrorism concerns Last week, Abdia Sheikh made her regular trip to Dahabshiil, a tiny office in Falls Church, Va., and a financial nerve center of the Somali community in Northern Virginia. She had brought $200 in cash, which she sends every month But this time, she was told the transaction would not be allowed. Across the country, thousands of other Somalis were being told the same thing, sending panic through their close-knit enclaves. Under pressure from federal agencies trying to curb money flows to criminals and terrorists, the last American bank willing to arrange cash transfers to their impoverished East African country had just cut them off. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/us-banks-cut-off-cash-transfers-to-somalia-amid-terrorism-concerns/2015/02/13/f95c696c-b155-11e4-854b-a38d13486ba1_story.html
6. @xabad said: ^ War ileen, you learn new things everyday. So he is part of the Islamist matrix after all. I always thought he was some run of the mill Isaaq-lander. That was just a cover to operate, he is in cohorts with those named groups in south Somalia.
7. Camels drinking in dooxa Hargeisa. Sadly this seasonal river that was once flowing with water most of the time is blocked and dirty due to large amount of waste and rubbish dumped in it. Hargeisa 1950s
8. I don't blame him Mooge. I got bored in Hargeisa for the 3 weeks I was there Lol, It is a overhyped city that is too hot in the summer, I was expecting Addis Ababa weather but was disappointed. The fun part was the road trips,I actually enjoyed Burco and Sanaag more.
9. Innovative kid, with the right investment he can make even greater things.
10. Lets not forget Dahabshiil also bankrolled tyrant Silanyo, this guy is a walking disaster waiting to happen.
11. Xabad The USA has already outed him. He thought he was too smart for uncle Sam, but every little move he makes is monitored. It is now common knowledge that majority of transactions Al shabab made was through Dahabshiil. In southern Somalia lots of cities/towns stopped using his company because they realized he is part of the problem. Africa Intelligence: USA suspects Dahabshiil of funding terror group Al Shabab @ said: The latter works for the Somalian funds transfer company Dahabshiil, which is already in the US crosshairs. It suspects it of funding Al-Shabaab and the perpetrators of Somaliland’s attempted coup to overthrow President Ahmed Mohamed Mahamoud, aka Silanyo. Hersi Ali Haji Hassan is also a cousin of Dhabshiil’s founder, Mohamed Said Duale. In mid-November, the latter met with the presidential for Somaliland’s ruling party Kulmiye, Musa Bihi Abdi, to assure him of his commitment to help maintain political stability in Somaliland. . http://www.africaintelligence.com/ION/politics-power/2015/11/20/washington-and-london%E2%80%99s-monkey-business-in-hargeisa,108112233-ART
12. Suldaanka ad hominems don't work with me. Try harder kid.
13. Tallaabo So now I am the USA that shut down his company there? I am only stating the facts and that is terrorists do use Dahabshiil to make transactions. Dahabshiil did some good but he also inflicted lots of pain on many families whose relatives were assassinated by Al shabab. FYI Amina does help Somalilanders in Uganda she invited students there. I'd rather have someone like Amina who keeps to herself and doesn't get involved in politics, corruption and terror groups like some people. Dahabshiil has no one to blame for his bad rep but himself. 14. Tillamook That is true never put all your eggs in one basket. From what I have heard she has other assets in Kenya, Rwanda and other African countries not just Uganda. The reason Indians were kicked out was because they looked down on native Ugandans and there was lots of inequality. Ugandans admire Amina though she has created jobs for hundreds of Ugandans.
15. @Mooge said: She is a good lady niyoow and very well respected in east africa. She has made her own empire in Uganda. Oasis Mall, laburnum courts, one of the biggest cement importers in the country and other goods.
16. @Mooge said: that is very serious niyoow. a whole clan is mad at these suspect terror financiers. The USA has banned his company from operating there due to those grounds. Imagine losing all those North American Somali customers, it is a huge blow to the steady income of Dahabshiil company.

18. CidanSultan When landheers are talking you should behave. No one is fond of the little guy that tries to gatecrash the party with verbal diarrhea.
19. Odayaasha Gabiley oo yidhi Dahabshiil yaan lacag la dhigan
20. This is the response of Xudun town elders to Faysal Ali Waraabe. They told him they don't want to be part of Somaliland with a angry tone Lol. Faysal was caught off guard and wasn't prepared.
21. It seems lots of southern politicians trust Garowe as a neutral ground, also it is safer than Mogadishu so no al shabab to worry about when meeting in hotels.
22. @Mooge said: this was a historic smack-down of a man who betrayed his own proud free SSC people by becoming subservient to dictator siilaanyo. what a shameful beat-down. the headline Cirro Beat up Baashe is enough humiliation for this guy niyoow. Indeed. Check out the face expression of the man behind them trying to stop the fight, he thinks Baashe was going to die kkkk.
23. One of the corrupt followers of Siilaanyo that wanted to sell Berbera oil deposits getting a beat down
