The current brain-drain in Burco will in the medium to long term be very detrimental to the overall development of Somaliland. The Somaliland govt needs to put in place a sustainable programme so as to avoid a west-east Somaliland regional dualism. Burco, not only has the potential to become an economic powerhouse but also is a hub of economy, culture and politics of Eastern Somaliland.
