My friend confirmed that there are indeed plenty of ethios in Berbera. "A dozen khat chewers reported that they were allegedly abducted by UFO", he said. The khat chewers said they knew the UFOS were Ethios because they asked for the strong version of Khat and canjeero! p.s my ramadan resolution was not to post in the politikz section. Looks like i broke, but it should my last

@Norf, the problem is that everyone has a different definition/methodology of what constitutes "reconciliation"( especially in the Somali Case). On what basis will there be reconciliaton and who will do it? Ulema? The UN? Clan Elders? The second problem is that some groups will attempt to forge alliances, ie create "unity", between various entities that ultimately have divergent opinions on problem solving. These groups last for a while, but in the end they split into different feuding factions , because they were not united or reconciled in the first place, except on an ambigious and general level( anti-ethiopianism in the case of Somalis). Which leads to the question; how can two people reconcile if they both believe they are right?( on issues which involve peoples blood and wealth). @Nur, Somali groups were inspired by the defeat of the warlords and then, youths, xamasad jihad hayso,( as one courts leader put it), poorly trained, ill equiped, thought they could score a similar success against the Ethiopian army, which was heavily backed by various western nations. Perhaps, sometimes too much focus on akhira and martydom seeking can deluded mens rational thinking and lead them to committ gross errors of judgement and over ambitious military endeavours that lead to strategic losses?

Rumour has it that Joey Barton has personally threatened to kick in the kneecaps of the newcastle chairman and thus he will do a turn-around and reappoint mr Keegan. In other footballing news, Manchester citys new scarf for the season will be blue and white Arabic terrorist scarfs. The pitch will be relayed into a desert for the summer, as mr Al-something-abu or another wants to have a kick around with his mates from Dubai. The stadium will renamed Yasalam Staudium. On the other side of Manchester, it is reported that Berbatov has already fallen out his new teamates after he mistook Rio ferdinands grettings, " wagwan bruv" as an insult. Alex Ferguson reportedly brought him a new hairdryer and Berbatov will allegedly be allowed to come to training 40 minutes late. Liverpool finally brought a winger, who happens to be an ageing player who didn't make it at Man City of all places .

JOWHAR, Somalia Aug 31 (Garowe Online) - The Islamic Courts militia that has been in control of Middle Shabelle region in recent months fought among themselves on Sunday, wounding at least two fighters. The fighting erupted in the regional capital Jowhar, 90km north of Mogadishu, after gunmen loyal to the Islamist governor of Middle Shabelle, Sheikh Dahir Addow Alasow, battled with bodyguards loyal to Islamist official Abdullahi Moallim Muktar. Local sources told Radio Garowe that Gov. Sheikh Dahir opposed reports that a joint security force comprising of Somali government troops and Islamic Courts fighters would arrive in Jowhar "in the coming days." Businesses were shut down in Jowhar and the movement of traffic restricted, due to the street fighting. Both wounded fighters were being treated at a local hospital. The Djibouti Agreement, reached between the government and Islamist-dominated opposition group ARS, called for the establishment of a joint security force to replace Ethiopian troops, who are expected to withdraw from Somalia within 120 days of signing the Agreement. But the Agreement divided the ARS into two camps, with a moderate, pro-Agreement group led by Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed based in Djibouti, and an Eritrea-based group led by hardliner Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys. This is the first time Islamist guerrillas fought among each other in Somalia, underscoring deep divisions regarding the peace deal with the government. Source: Garowe Online

Dear editor of channel 4, Despite your programmes being generally marvellous to watch, it has come to my attention that your channel is giving the wrong impression of Somali men, espcially in the Big Brother House .I must remind you that Somali men belong to a noble, tall and handesome race, which is descended from pious Arabian SHeikhs and Pharoahs. We have never been known to eat a white mans bogey, fart in front of women, get spat on or cry like a women. If you continue with this grossly negative portrayl, we will be left with no other option, but to mobilise the entire Somali community, which is 1 million strong- according to immigration figures, to boycott your channel. I am sure you would not like your viewers ratings to decline amongst the influential ethnic minorities. DR/Sheikh/Engineer Abdi Heersare official spokesman for the British SOmali community

dayusnews: quote:The bad side is that Asiza is facing trial for what the army calls “acts detrimental to the UPDF conduct and rules of procedure.” Apparently the army leadership does not want soldiers to fall in love while on foreign missions. It is proper to regulate field personnel’s conduct to ensure they do not neglect their duty, become a nuisance to the host population or commit crime. However, a complete ban on consensual sexual relationships that do not interfere with duty can be counterproductive. It can aggravate stress to the home-sick soldiers and even lead to crime such as rape and other undesirable forms of sex. Reports abound of American servicemen involved in such crimes yet they are allowed time off to socialise with hosts. The US government even has a law that unfortunately provides immunity for its servicemen who engage in crime abroad. Uganda should not take such path but its soldiers serving abroad should be allowed to be themselves – unless, of course, they are threatening other people’s marriages, luring school girls or abandoning duty to look for lovers. It appears UPDF soldiers are either charming or more financially empowered while on foreign missions that they quickly catch the eyes of their female hosts. Those who went to DR Congo returned with partners and they seem to have settled down well. This is how it should be. Only those who deny their blood or put love above duty are at fault.
