Eyl - A town overtaken by powerful pirates
Fabregas replied to Libaax-Sankataabte's topic in General
pirateski wey duleen: quote:It isn't just children who are starry-eyed. Mustaf Mohamed Abdi, a 48-year-old taxi driver in Garowe, marveled at the excitement in town when a band of pirates comes through on a spending spree. If he's lucky, Abdi said, a friendly pirate might tip him with a hundred-dollar bill. " The pirates are the hottest men in town ," Abdi said. " Girls from all over Somalia moved here to marry pirates. But if the girl isn't cute she's out of luck, because the pirates only go with beautiful girls ." -
there is one somali guy in the Brit forces who fought in Iraq........some guy was trying to promote him as a measure of Somali success. they might send you to kill pirates in Puntland........... ps. everything depends on the context....guarding some places and undertaking some peacekeeping operation in Bosnia or Kosovo is not the same as fighting muslims in Afghanistan.

^^Warya, you said Somali "ragtag " militias have no chance against the mighty Ethiopians and TFG. I do not think you or most other people anticipated that ragtag militias would have driven Ethios and TFG from most of Souther Somalia, whilst controlling vital port cities. Give the ragtags some credit.

@Mintid; If claiming that only money schemers are returning to PL, and that good old families are returning to Mog and SL- is not demonization and spreading misleading tales, then, frankly I do not know what is. Yes, there are families who have returned to PL, so you allegation is indeed misleading. I do not understand why you had to resort to making up some grand economic theory based upon families returns-in order to simply say what is regurgitated at SOmali cafes: Pirateland is bad- SL is heaven on earth and we do not like them. Just spill it out dee good day ppl

^^ lol. WHat facts? You just wanted demonised PL, which is understandable, but why did you r have to resort to misleading tales to justify your attack? Many people have returned to PL, probably moreso than Muqdisho. There also plenty of families of who have returned to PL, not just fraudsters, as you implied. Using the example of people returning during the icu reign is clutching at straws.

Originally posted by NGONGE: ^^^ It looks like a rhetorical question and I know I should treat it as such but I can't help feeling that you're expecting an actual reply! It's as if you have not read anything I wrote previously. Oh well, lets flog that dead horse one more time, shall we! The hard and bitter reality right now is that the TFG is in CONTROL. They run the country and TIME is on their side. They have no real or discernible rivals (people complaining on the web or a few aimless rebels an opposition do not make). Also, as far as we can tell, the TFG are not averse to blowing up a few people or brutally suppressing any signs of rebellion or revolt. They will do anything to stay in power. All this is plainly obvious and I trust that I have not shattered any dreams of yours by this revelation or opened up any new doors. So, what should the majority of Somalis do, I hear you ask! Well, they will do what they've always done; kowtow to the new bully in town . This, in all honesty, is the best course of action for all concerned. For without any organised, recognised, well-armed and suitably backed resistance, any sign of struggle from the Somali populace is nothing but a thoughtless and wasteful suicide! It actually reminds me of the old Arabic saying: The dogs may bark but the caravan moves on! There really is no stopping the TFG now, unless it comes from within! This is how I rationally see things. How do YOU see them? ps Pedantic simpletons protesting about dogs and caravans need not bother replying. Interesting analysis from back in the days, ya Ngonea, although you did underestimate the resolve of Somali populace.

Have you abandoned your earlier pronounced commitment to al shabaabs approach? # Xiin, bro, TFG warlords will be consigned to the dirty pages of history. I am just trying to work out why someone of your stature is busy these days trying to save it on SOL?

Brother, who was the lesser of the two evil: the Ethiopias and the TFG or just the TFG? And, how does one determine what is the lesser of the two evils?

OZ, chelsea have 2 many central midfielders and the only real width they have is the two wing backs. Teams have clocked on 2 that and try to defend deep and cancel the two wing backs. Chelsea were at their best when they had Robeen and Duff on the sides. Though, I do suspect Scolari will get a an attacking right midfielder after missing on Robinho. Having said that, they still be around the top with Man U, who always have a good second half of the season.

I dont know what the beef between Xasan Dahir Aways, indaCade, Abu Mansuur & Sharif Ahmed is Those warlords are just plain dumb. Forget about those other warlords, what is the origin of the beef between these two? Secondly, you didn't answer my question: are you saying that the old man sack the prime puppet without a parliament vote? I mean, can he sack him, just like that, at the click of his fingers, ya? The link Norf gave indicates he can't, at least not without a parliamentary vote. -

@Duke, what is the origin of the beef between the two warlords? Also, are you saying that old man can sack the prime puppet without any consent or vote from the parliament, just like that? Norf's link say otherwise.
