  1. war he wants to flog your books. ninku wa business man de. If your book is a success, he'll keep reminding you, " remember I was the one that gave you the idea".
  2. ^^Nur, what was the difference between the secularists who gathered with the wadaads in Asmara and the ones in Jibouti/TFG? I have even read one english article which quoted one Somali member in Asmara saying that he was against sharica and wahabis. Islam should be a private matter, he said. At least the other secular group(tfg) in Somalia constantly claim(though they will never probably do it) that they rule by sharica. When the Xaq and Badil is mixed together, and Islam is mixed with secularism, tribalism and nationalism, all of these problems arise( division, warfare, strenghtening of the enemies). I believe the main reason why it arises is that alot of the Muslim groups unite upon the politics of the day rather than a solid aqeedah foundation( tawheed). We see some people rushing forth to unite with the extreme SHia groups, tribalists, a new deen called Islamic democracy, secularists, and all the groups which oppose tawheed, in one form or another, only because they also happen to oppose Israel or Ethiopia. Let us overlook our differences and unite, they say. Thus, what was xaq yesterday becomes badil today and what was badil becomes xaq today. Ibn Uthaymeen said: - Ad-Da’wah ash-Sharee’ah, its positions are fixed and clear, and even if it differs with most of mankind. Ad-Da’wah as-Siyaasiyyah, its positions change, so what was correct yesterday perhaps will be wrong today, and what was wrong today could be correct tomorrow, and so on".
  3. THOSE elders couldn't mediate between two cats fighting in a room.
  4. the book should be called stuff and nonsense. and of course, it should be co edited by A&T.
  5. ^^keane was never given a fair run. We would have been better judges if he was given 30 straight games. His no Torres or Rooney, but he is a proven goalscorer.
  6. ^^ thank you, but i've been fed by the british government. No, not defending the shelling of that brother. Just find it preculiar and odd that when those youths were attacking qeybdid, the ugandans and the tfg officials they were resistance fighters and heroes; but, today they are evil khawirijites. why? because a saint is in there. The saint MUST have purified the devils(don't take it as a literal). As for who is a minortiy and who will be tracked down by the city folks: wa shekadi duke!
  7. ^^how? by ordering cidamada, walaha, musliminta aminsom and warlords to track down and fire at the khawarijite who are rebelling?
  8. This may not sound politically correct: But Amnisom, the tfg and the Villa has been attacked for the past 2 years. Why is it so different because the Sheikh Shariff is there? ( before you fry, I think the armed groups shouldn't go to war with the sheikh).
  9. @peace, peace, peace. Firstly, the Sheikh didn't say that they became murtads or commited ridda, at least he never mentioned those words once. What he said was something completely different( that they made tanazul on their previous aqeedah stances, which is a well known fact) You should use or weigh your words carefully, lest people think that the alim is a takfir declarer or someone who speaks from emotion. Secondly, if you want to ask a question to the sheikh, then you should seek out the correct places and consult him directly( ie. his email, telephone number). What is the purpose speaking about him in such a manner on a public forum, except that some people will start to backbite him? Thirdly, the sheikh doesn't have supporters, because he is a alim, sheikh, teacher, for all Somalis. He has students and the general public who benefit from his lectures. He doesn't belong to any political group or party. We support him when he says something right. And if he says something wrong, then it IS up to the other scholars to advsise him and warn him, not for the laymen to start asking gossiping about why he doesn't move to a particular city or where his wife and kids live. I still do not see the purpose in asking about why the sheikh chooses to settle in city or city b. Lastly, the Ulema are amongst the people who the deen has given permission to live in the lands of non muslims for the sake of carrying out dacwah or teaching. Perhaps, the Muslims in Kenya need him there and they are benefiting from him? Abu-Diaby ps. I think he should have never mentioned that djibouti group by name. He is gonna get dragged into politics.
  10. i though the title of the thread said where are u A@T.......thought he was up to some trouble, lol. I am in Toronto too, dinaca Haudka.
  11. What about the Somali politicians who swear on the Kenyan constitution and some of sheikhs even support Muslims to take part in the Kenyan parliament? At least in the case of Somalia the constitution of Somalia says that Islam is the official religion and sharica shall be the law of the land. Secondly, you can't declare takfeer on a person without establishing the neccessary conditions and investigating what made that person swear on a constitution( ie. were they coerced, did they do it for the greater good, did they not have the knowledge, did they believe the constituion was islamic).
  12. i overheard from two old women at the bus stop saying that the her son is a butler at the hotel of the sheikh and hence he happened to overhear who the new president will pick. It will be an articulate, tall, lightskin, somali man with a gap tooth. Don't askh me his name, all I know is that he shall deliver Somalia.
  13. hayay, how did i miss this? bahashi wey dushey. Reminds of the joke of the SOmali who to came the country and was told that her money was over there in the bank. So next time she in the file and so people taking out money, she said, " lacagtaydi maxay u qaten". Or something like that.
  14. I remember one of the mpac people was having a debate on Islam channel and he said to the other guy something like: all muslims are doing is banging their heads on the floor(meaning salah). I think they need to get the balance right between asking people to do more than praying and going to the mosque and actually sounding like they are dismissive of cibadah rituals, which is how they come across sometimes. Ibtisamey, advise them.
  15. ^^ I said the Ugandan government is fulfiling uncle sAms war on terror and their government is getting nice cheques for that. Aminsom was also a cover and aid to the brutal Ethiopian occupation. That's a fact, sxb. Aminsom came to help and protect Somali warlords.Call it a conspiracy if you like. As for Uganda treating Somali refugees well: So does Ethiopia, so does Kenya. Does that mean the armies of those nations are just and they treat Somalis well? I was referring more to conduct of the Ugandan army in the LRA army and the history of sexual predatory beahaviour in the Congo. Are you aware of that. Secondly, I didn't blame Somalis problems on foreigners nor did I all our problems on them, that was your assumption, bro. I was simply pointing out your contradictory glossing over and praise of Ugandans who commited massacres, whilst totally condemning and even claiming Somalis groups are barbaric. Why did you describe AMinisom massacres as "mistakes", but Somalis are guilty of barbaric cimes? Hence why I said: one rule for foreigners or one rule foR Somalis? As for your last question: that is the excuse used by every justifier of foreign aggression in history( the bad guys hide behind the civilians).

  17. ^^ maybe, but Arsenal bottled it in some games, which goes back to my point about an over emphasis on young players. Remember they haven't won anything in 4, now five years.
  18. nah, i think your fickle somalis page needs an update, ya sheikh.

    Truth Matters

The highest-ranking U.N. official for Somalia has angrily denounced reports of a civilian massacre by African Union peacekeeping troops in Mogadishu, saying the story is designed to distract attention from positive developments in the country. U.N. Special Representative Ahmedou Ould Abdallh is calling for a moratorium on reports written outside Somalia based on information supplied by local Somali journalists. U.N. Special Representative Ahmedou Ould Abdallh says he does not know the exact details of Monday's incident in Mogadishu. He is in Addis Ababa, where he is accompanying Somalia's new president Sheikh Sharif Sheik Ahmed on his triumphal debut at the African Union summit. But in a VOA interview, he suggested the report of a massacre by AU peacekeepers was contrived. He called it part of a media war to discredit peace efforts in Somalia, and compared it to the radio station Mille Collines, which incited the Rwandan genocide a generation ago. "What happened is to divert attention from what is going on here, and as usual to use the media to repeat Radio Mille Colline, to repeat the genocide in Rwanda," said Abdallh. "We had a good election. The president had a good welcome. He is trying to work closely with the region." AU officials in Addis Ababa declined to comment on news reports that AU AMISOM peacekeepers had fired on civilians in Mogadishu, killing many. They asked for more time to investigate. AU President Jean Ping (File) But AU Commission Chairman Jean Ping issued a statement strongly suggesting the reports were false. The statement made no mention of shooting, but condemned in the strongest terms what was called an explosion that claimed the lives of several persons', describing it as a 'barbaric and cowardly act by extremist elements opposed to peace and reconciliation'. U.N. envoy Ould Abdallah noted that few international news agencies actually have reporters in Somalia, but base their stories on information supplied by Somali journalists there. He charged most of the journalists have been compromised through threats and intimidation, and called for a moratorium on second-hand reporting about events in Somalia. "There is a need to have a truce, one month truce in reporting on Somalia," he said. "There is a need to double check the sources with your correspondent. Because they live under tremendous pressure. I am sure they are professionals. They would like to help their country. But the time has come for one month truce on reporting till there is double, triple checking, because Somalia is exceptional. We have to have exceptional checking of the news." Somalia's newly elected president Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed arrives at the UN compound in Addis Ababa for consultations, 01 Feb 2009 Meanwhile, Somali President Sheikh Sharif continued his summit activities with a speech to fellow heads of state. Speaking in Arabic through an interpreter, he pledged to counter the lawlessness and piracy that has characterized Somalia's position as a failed state. "We would like to assure our full cooperation with the international community to do away with piracy, which has really damaged the Somalis more than anyone else," he said. "Yet we believe the solution is on the territory and not on the sea. And the Somali forces will carry out this job." Mr. Sharif has also held bilateral meetings with several other African heads of state, and met with regional and international leaders to discuss a concerted effort to rebuild Somalia, which has been without an effective government since dictator Siad Barre was overthrown in 1991. http://www.voanews.com/english/2009-02-03-voa53.cf m
  20. aRSEne wenger has several major mistakes including: 1. Selling players and not buying sufficient cover( Flamini, Hleb last season) 2. Giving only year contracts to players over thirty or releasing them, this made the team unexperienced and fully of youth. 3. Mythical belief in youngsters bringing the cup hom, which has proven to be false. 4. Not spending enough and always to buy bargain hunts when the other teasm spend. So, the "transtion" has taken far too long and most of the blame should go to Wenger. That said, he shouldn't be sacked, although real are reportedly in for him.
  21. Nur,I was watching documentary on the bbc about young british soldiers. One of the things that amazed was that the soldier who the documentary was about tatooed the arabic words, " al kafir" on his back. caajib wale. The soldier was later left the army as he got into violence and other problems when he returned to prison. One of the telling thing he said was something like, " I am demonised if I commit violence in Britian, but I am glorified and decorated if do the same thing abroad.
  22. I don't get your point. Let us not debate about technicalities. My point is simple: people should not expect the armed groups to change their ideological stances just because a sheikh was elected; otherwise, they are setting themselves up for a big dissapointment. They will see him as the same as the previous tfg leaders. Whether or not they will continue their violence or make excuses is another debate.
  23. Of course, then marka we will see and the people will know the reality. But, hada, I don't think everyone should expect them to change because a sheikh was chosen in a hotel.
  24. ^^ why now? They already made it clear that they won't join any secular government or one that is based on 4.5, nor will they ever agree to any international peacekeepers. Now, why does everyone expect them to suddenly compromise on everything they believe in, just because the faces have changed and a sheikh is the helm of tfg? Secondly, they want to be on the terror list.
  25. Yep, we should have an international peacekeeping mission of journalists sent to Somalia. Reuters, CNN, the BBC, the Christian Science monitor should alll send internationalist journalist peacekeepers to train SOmalis in journalism and protect them from their assasins. In particular, Ethiopians journalists should deliver seminars on press freedom in Adiss Ababa.
