    riddles

^ thanks, though it wasn't my question, here is the answer: SOLUTION The facts in this riddle are clear: There is an initial $30 charge. It should have been $25, so $5 must be returned and accounted for. $3 is given to the 3 friends, $2 is kept by the bellhop - there you have the $5. The trick to this riddle is that the addition and subtraction are done at the wrong times to misdirect your thinking - and quite successfully for most. Each of the 3 friends did indeed pay $9, not $10, and as far as the friends are concerned, they paid $27 for the night. But we know that the clerk will tell us that they were charged only $25 and when you add the $3 returned with the $2 kept by the bellhop, you come up with $30. From Ward, another way to look at this one: My answer: The following night two friends check into the same motel. Once again the clerk charges them $30, or $15 per person. After the clerk remembers the total rate is only $25 he sends the bellhop upstairs with five $1 bills to pay the two friends back. The bellhop knows he got away with larceny once so he tries it again. But this time he pockets $3 and returns $2 to the hotel guests ($1 per guest). So each of the two guests got $1 back from their original $15. Therefore each paid $14 which is a total payment of $28 for the room. Now the bellhop has $3, the guests paid $28, for a total of $31....THERE'S THE MISSING DOLLAR!!!!

$ THE MISSING DOLLAR RIDDLE $ Three friends check into a motel for the night and the clerk tells them the bill is $30, payable in advance. So, they each pay the clerk $10 and go to their room. A few minutes later, the clerk realizes he has made an error and overcharged the trio by $5. He asks the bellhop to return $5 to the 3 friends who had just checked in. The bellhop sees this as an opportunity to make $2 as he reasons that the three friends would have a tough time dividing $5 evenly among them; so he decides to tell them that the clerk made a mistake of only $3, giving a dollar back to each of the friends. He pockets the leftover $2 and goes home for the day! Now, each of the three friends gets a dollar back, thus they each paid $9 for the room which is a total of $27 for the night. We know the bellhop pocketed $2 and adding that to the $27, you get $29, not $30 which was originally spent. Where did the other dollar go????
  3. @the old man was part of the conflict and the problem, not the solution. But he wasn't "THE" problem as him be. That said, you can't deny he was responsible for and encouraged shelling of civilian areas. He also didn't want the Ethiopians to leave. And yes, the situation has improved slightly since the Ethiopians left. Secondly, there are other ways you can try to prove him to be a hero, rather than posting bad news about Muqdisho. It looks like you are gloating at the bad news.
  4. ^^ Stop telling tales. Since the resignation and the departure of the Ethiopians there hasn't been that many major clashes, save yesterday. Some of the people returned to their homes and most of the other major cities are safe and under Islamic law. Anyway, the old man is gone........I would have thoought you would have done enough wailign by know. He's not coming back.
  5. Monday, 29 September 2008 Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) The Presidents of the African Union (AU), Uganda and Burundi The Secretary General of the League of Arab States The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Heads of Concerned region and international human rights organizations Your Excellencies: As you have been following the latest crisis in Somalia, I regret to inform you that for the last week, AMISOM has been using tanks and heavy artillery indiscriminately against the population of Mogadishu. As a result, according to the latest estimates, over 100 people, including children, women, and elderly have been killed; more than 300 others have been wounded, and about 3000 have fled their homes, where the Ethiopian troops and the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) militias have been looting their homes. Before this time, committing this type of massacre has been limited to the Ethiopian occupation troops and the TFG militias. However, it is now apparent that AMISOM is also adopting this evil practice. The latest carnage is a clear indication that AMISOM is assisting Ethiopia to achieve its objective of occupying Somalia and denying the Somali people their fundamental rights of life, liberty and property. AMISOM spokesman has claimed that the troops were defending themselves from the attack of some insurgent group(s)!! But the available evidence regarding the directions and the distance of the shelling does not support this argument. It is obvious that AMISOM had used unnecessary force and targeted heavily populated quarters and markets far away from the fighting area(s) which can only be taken as a deliberate mass killing. Since AMISOM had not come with the consent of the Somali people, lately, we have been spending a significant amount of time and efforts to convince our people to accept AMISOM as a peace keeping force, but the latest terror has seriously damaged the image and the mission of AMISON in Somalia. Moreover, it will most likely have a profound negative effect on the on-going UN brokered talks in Djibouti. We consider this AMISOM action as a war crime; therefore, we urgently request the UN as well as AU to send an impartial fact find mission at the earliest possible time to investigate these atrocities and swiftly bring the culprits to justice. 11. He's not egyptian but greek-cypro former christian. Anyway, odayga wax ku yar tabta; he'll change his mind and start writing pro SL articles. quote:Who is the Christian diplomat Nicholas Bwakira to dare say to the Somalis what to do and what not to do or how to arrange their life, society, and state? Can the Burundian diplomat present in public his speeches in several Jesuit colleges allover the world whereby he has repeatedly called for the establishment of a Christian – not secular – super-state allover the world? Where is then the due patriotic Somali reaction of the otherwise honest Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed? Does he accept to implement in Somalia what his extremist Christian Jesuit mentor orders? Is this attitude not colonial?

  14. Zionist Logic Malcolm X on Zionism By Malcolm X (Omowale Malcolm X Shabazz) Taken from The Egyptian Gazette -- Sept. 17, 1964 February 20, 2009 "Information Clearing House" -- -- The Zionist armies that now occupy Palestine claim their ancient Jewish prophets predicted that in the "last days of this world" their own God would raise them up a "messiah" who would lead them to their promised land, and they would set up their own "divine" government in this newly-gained land, this "divine" government would enable them to "rule all other nations with a rod of iron." If the Israeli Zionists believe their present occupation of Arab Palestine is the fulfillment of predictions made by their Jewish prophets, then they also religiously believe that Israel must fulfill its "divine" mission to rule all other nations with a rod of irons, which only means a different form of iron-like rule, more firmly entrenched even, than that of the former European Colonial Powers. These Israeli Zionists religiously believe their Jewish God has chosen them to replace the outdated European colonialism with a new form of colonialism, so well disguised that it will enable them to deceive the African masses into submitting willingly to their "divine" authority and guidance, without the African masses being aware that they are still colonized. CAMOUFLAGE The Israeli Zionists are convinced they have successfully camouflaged their new kind of colonialism. Their colonialism appears to be more "benevolent," more "philanthropic," a system with which they rule simply by getting their potential victims to accept their friendly offers of economic "aid," and other tempting gifts, that they dangle in front of the newly-independent African nations, whose economies are experiencing great difficulties. During the 19th century, when the masses here in Africa were largely illiterate it was easy for European imperialists to rule them with "force and fear," but in this present era of enlightenment the African masses are awakening, and it is impossible to hold them in check now with the antiquated methods of the 19th century. The imperialists, therefore, have been compelled to devise new methods. Since they can no longer force or frighten the masses into submission, they must devise modern methods that will enable them to manouevre the African masses into willing submission. The modern 20th century weapon of neo-imperialism is "dollarism." The Zionists have mastered the science of dollarism: the ability to come posing as a friend and benefactor, bearing gifts and all other forms of economic aid and offers of technical assistance. Thus, the power and influence of Zionist Israel in many of the newly "independent" African nations has fast-become even more unshakeable than that of the 18th century European colonialists... and this new kind of Zionist colonialism differs only in form and method, but never in motive or objective. At the close of the 19th century when European imperialists wisely foresaw that the awakening masses of Africa would not submit to their old method of ruling through force and fears, these ever-scheming imperialists had to create a "new weapon," and to find a "new base" for that weapon. DOLLARISM The number one weapon of 20th century imperialism is zionist dollarism, and one of the main bases for this weapon is Zionist Israel. The ever-scheming European imperialists wisely placed Israel where she could geographically divide the Arab world, infiltrate and sow the seed of dissension among African leaders and also divide the Africans against the Asians. Zionist Israel's occupation of Arab Palestine has forced the Arab world to waste billions of precious dollars on armaments, making it impossible for these newly independent Arab nations to concentrate on strengthening the economies of their countries and elevate the living standard of their people. And the continued low standard of living in the Arab world has been skillfully used by the Zionist propagandists to make it appear to the Africans that the Arab leaders are not intellectually or technically qualified to lift the living standard of their people ... thus, indirectly "enducing" Africans to turn away from the Arabs and towards the Israelis for teachers and technical assistance. "They cripple the bird's wing, and then condemn it for not flying as fast as they." The imperialists always make themselves look good, but it is only because they are competing against economically crippled newly independent countries whose economies are actually crippled by the Zionist-capitalist conspiracy. They can't stand against fair competition, thus they dread Gamal Abdul Nasser's call for African-Arab Unity under Socialism. MESSIAH? If the "religious" claim of the Zionists is true that they were to be led to the promised land by their messiah, and Israel's present occupation of Arab Palestine is the fulfillment of that prophesy: where is their messiah whom their prophets said would get the credit for leading them there? It was Ralph Bunche who "negotiated" the Zionists into possession of Occupied Palestine! Is Ralph Bunche the messiah of Zionism? If Ralph Bunche is not their messiah, and their messsiah has not yet come, then what are they doing in Palestine ahead of their messiah? Did the Zionists have the legal or moral right to invade Arab Palestine, uproot its Arab citizens from their homes and seize all Arab property for themselves just based on the "religious" claim that their forefathers lived there thousands of years ago? Only a thousand years ago the Moors lived in Spain. Would this give the Moors of today the legal and moral right to invade the Iberian Peninsula, drive out its Spanish citizens, and then set up a new Moroccan nation ... where Spain used to be, as the European zionists have done to our Arab brothers and sisters in Palestine?... In short the Zionist argument to justify Israel's present occupation of Arab Palestine has no intelligent or legal basis in history ... not even in their own religion. Where is their Messiah? http://informationclearinghouse.info/article22046. htm

  16. Ya SOS, that the UN( particularly under the UNAMA) is part of the occupying force is not something that needs to be debated. The UN boast about their friendship with NATO and their level of coordination with that organisation. NATO is an NGO or charity. Here is just on recent quote from the UNAMA chairman: "President Obama has announced an increase in the US troop level. It will improve the ability to train the Afghan security forces, strengthen the prospects of sufficiently secure elections, enhance the ability to fight the insurgency and promote a political process, which could ultimately bring an end to the conflict. But I would also appeal to others around this table to look at the possibility to increase the troop levels, at least temporarily, to make elections as secure as possible". That said, brother SOS, Islamically speaking, once can not make an individual ruling on a person working with the UN in Afghanistan without knowing the specific details such as: 1. Is the job of this person directly contributing to spilling of blood? 2. Is their a greater benefit in them doing that jon than others? 3. If not, is the person ignorant of Islam ANd so on and so forth. "
  17. Could someone kindly translate this to english please. Allah wil reward you abundantly.

He compared the SOmalia media the Rwandan Genocide radio for simply reporting the aminsom massacre. "They should have a months amnesty on reporting", he said. That was a disgrace and I think he should make an apology.
  19. Did he apologise for his slur on the Somalia media by comparing them to the Rwandan genocide radios?
  20. Originally posted by peacenow: Senator Feingold is a good man. This Jewish Senator has done more for Somalia than all the millions of dirty Arabs that Somalis are in love with. Seems to me their concern is only worth it if you are white or brown. But if you are black..... Not heard a word from any Arab or Muslim leader on what is happening in Somalia. Typical of them. You can watch his statement here- http://feingold.senate.gov/ innit though.
