  3. "Shall I show you a woman of the people of Paradise?" Ibn 'Abbas said to me, "Shall I show you a woman of the people of Paradise?" I said, "Yes." He said, "This black lady came to the Prophet and said, 'I get attacks of epilepsy and my body becomes uncovered; please invoke Allah for me.' The Prophet said (to her), 'If you wish, be patient and you will have (enter) Paradise; and if you wish, I will invoke Allah to cure you.' She said, 'I will remain patient,' and added, 'but I become uncovered, so please invoke Allah for me that I may not become uncovered.' So he invoked Allah for her." [al-Bukhari]
  4. Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal quoted:Ibn Abi Hatim reported that ‘Abd al-Malik al-Maymuni said: “I do not know that I have ever seen anyone who wore cleaner clothes, was more attentive to trimming his moustache and grooming the hair on his head and body, or wore purer and whiter garments than Ahmad bin Hambal.”20 And this was because every single movement of Ahmad (may Allah have Mercy on him) was in accordance with the Sunnah, as he said: “I never wrote a single hadith except that I acted upon it, to the point that I came across a report that the Prophet (peace be upon him) got cupped and gave Abu Taybah (his cupper) a dinar. So, I got cupped and gave the cupper a dinar.”21
  5. Kashafa, seems like you trying to distance shababs from this. why? I thought you would have supported such an attack against a man who you believe to have sold out and become a "*********"? Furthermore, Shababs hold the government (and probably this man) to have apostated from islam. Thus, even if others were behind it( it could well be a tactic to create a civil war); the finger pointing will only go to one place.
  6. they've got a beardo this year, lol. and a couple of other muslim. ethnic minorties.. ....... Majid "Maj" Nagra, 28, business development manager, from Coventry. Expelled from school but now works with youth centres and charities while running his own car hire business. He says: "Business is the backbone to this world."
  7. lol, you can hardly compare a couple of martydom seeking dudes to a professional army/ies which is trained, armed and funded by Western donors to carry out its mission in Somalia.
  8. Most OF Somali culture is defined as men riding camels, singing songs to them and writing great poetry. You see, the guys that are blacksmiths and agriculturalists are left out. Women; ku waba iskada. We, also apparently defeated the British and the Italians, although our great Mullah did end up defeated and died in exile in Oromo Land. We also had the best Army in Africa, and Siyad Bare was a saint or hitler( depending on what side of the fence you family sits on). And yes, we have great dances and we can move that the move. My point is that: to what extent do cultural things really matter to Somalis West. I think not much. Most of us who live and grew up in the West are not totally engrossed in Somali culture and we never will be. Marx, what aspects of Somali culture should people in the West be taught about? I would simply be happy if my kids( inshallah) obeyed my orders, did well at school, stayed away from trouble and were good muslims. I wouldn't want to be one of these fake timajilcs who is rupinder at home, but robbie at school and the west. the end. ( this reminds of my sixth form, somalis in the lower high school had to come up with a display about their country and culture; in the end there had to two big posters for Somalia and SOmaliland)

My dear there is a difference between actively seeking and being pathetic about it and this thread sadly is the later. Seriously I thinking about marriage day and night, exhausting all avenues, blaming god when one doesn’t get what one wants and don’t even start me please make duca’s for me etc. Am sorry am just calling it for what it really is and I don’t mean to offend am simply translating what she is saying. Haneefa- then why don’t these so called “brothers” of ures offer themselves/siblings/ friends in a silver platter instead of coming here with there ‘we’ sympathize bulsh1dh? And unless am mistaken by posting this thread, she basically invited us to pass judgements and if she doesn’t like what she is seeing then I suggest she gets a thicker skin. p.s the yayasistehood is alive and kicking, it just doesn’t have time to deal with such pleas. Pressing matters to deal with and all e.g. did you know in some part of Afghanistan a woman is worth 2 mules 2 mules I tell you now that’s depressive and requires ducas. oohhhhhhhhh please>> says the women who started the thread about you know what............. stop being hypocrites and bullying the girl. why don't you say anything when qashin meshan lagu su qoro? bal datkan ega ninyow!

  12. with all due respect A@T, i don't know what game of football you've been watching.........Ars havin scored a wonderful goal against blackburn, made two, and look good against newcastle and the best is set to come from him. Far from being Slow, he is actually the only arsenal player( apart from walcot) that I've seen this season run at players and take them on, rather than passing the continously outside the oppositions box. In fact, the way he cuts in from the wing reminds of mr va va voom.
  13. ^^ everybody used to be scared and defend against manuted.........afte r the liverpool game teams are now willing to go at them......as fulham did...........on the other hand after real madrid and mad utd games---------liverp ool have been liberated from bentizes cautious game----------but you still shouldn't write sex Alex, odagu ciyar ciyar maha. Les people forget, the gunners are back: 4-0 and 3-1 to be precise. If Arsenal beat liverpool, chelsea and manutd, who knows we might nick the bloody title on the last day, lol.

  15. Originally posted by Amna: Day and night all i think about is marriage, i have taken every avenue trying to find a husband to no avail. I don't know if guys are turning me down because of my condition or maybe allah is punishing me for reasons unkown to me even though since i was a teenager i practised and followed allahs commands so that i may earn his love. This is really making me so depressed. I wish allah would just give me sabr and eman if its not decreed for me to get married. Please brothers and sisters keep me in your duas. Firstly, sis, a person being tested and afflicted with difficult times and things not going there way could be a sign of this person having high Iman and being favoured by Allah(swt). It is narrated BY Abu Huraira in a hadith that: Allah's Apostle said, "If Allah wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with trials." (Sahih Bukhari Vol 7, Book 70, #548) The best of the peoples were none other than the prophets. Who was more tested and tried than the anbiya? And Muhamad(saw) was the best of creation, thus who was more tested than him and his companions? Also, know that in every act of patience, difficulty and testing there is an expiation of sin: Narated By Abu Said Al-Khudri and Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that." (Sahih Bukhari Vol 7, Book 70, #545) So, these trials, tests and difficulties are from Allah(SWT) and there is an immense reward for those who are patient. Allah(swt)says: "Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere, Who say, when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return":- They are those on whom (Descend) blessings from Allah, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance. [Quran 2:155-157] And Ibn Al qayyim said conerning the battle of uhud: 7. Allah(Almighty) has prepared for His believing servants positions in His Paradise which they cannot reach through their deeds; they will reach them only through difficulties and trials. So, He gives them the means to reach those positions in the form of problems and ordeals. He continues: 8. When enjoying continuous health, wealth and ascendancy, human souls acquire an oppressive and impatient nature. This is a disease that hinders one on his journey to Allah(Almighty) and the Hereafter. So, when Allah(Almighty) intends to honour a soul, He gives it difficulties and hardships which serve as treatment for that disease, like a doctor who makes a patient drink a bitter medicine or removes diseased parts from him. And if he left him to his own wishes and inclinations, they would destroy him. Indeed, it seems strange and weird that a person would be afflicted with difficulty and this could be sign of Allahs favours and guidance. This is exactly how the prophet described this affair: " Strange is the affair of the Mu'min (the believer), verily all his affairs are good for him. If something pleasing befalls him he thanks (Allah) and it becomes better for him. And if something harmful befalls him he is patient (Saabir) and it becomes better for him. And this is only for the Mu'mmin." [Muslim] Therefore, this testing is the testing of the people of iman, this is because it IS not befitting of the creation that they would claim to love Allah and then they will simply be left to utter this from their mouths without any actions to show for it. Allah says: Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? Everyone is tested, some in apparent ways, some in not so apparent ways, whilst some do not even realise it and they are oblivious till their their end comes. Yet, to those who are patient ALlah(SWT) has given glad tidings. The famous story of that black women, that women of jannah, that patient women, from the hadith in bukhari comes to mind: Ibn 'Abbas said to me, "Shall I show you a woman of the people of Paradise?" I said, "Yes." He said, "This black lady came to the Prophet and said, 'I get attacks of epilepsy and my body becomes uncovered; please invoke Allah for me.' The Prophet said (to her), 'If you wish, be patient and you will have (enter) Paradise; and if you wish, I will invoke Allah to cure you.' She said, 'I will remain patient,' and added, 'but I become uncovered, so please invoke Allah for me that I may not become uncovered.' So he invoked Allah for her." [al-Bukhari] And reflect and ponder upon the story of Julaybib(RA), that small, but giant of a man and dear companion, who the prophet held in his own arms as he lay there martyred: http://www.qss.org/articles/julaybib/julaybib.html So my advise to you( and probably all of us) is to not have bad thoughts about Allah, as this is the whisper of shaytan, the accursed. Allah says: [Conspiracy is only inspired by the Devil, in order that he may cause grief to the believers; but he cannot harm them in the least, except as Allah permits; in Allah let the believers put their trust.] (Al-Mujadilah 58:10) ....... And lASTLY be patient: Therefore be patient with a patience which is beautiful. (70:5) And Inshallah, Allah will provide for you and all of us from sources which you could not imagine: "And whosoever is conscious of Allah, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Indeed Allah has sent a measure for all things." [65:2-3]
  16. quote:implementation does not mean that sharî’a law has been substituted by western laws. On the contrary, in Egypt, sharî’a law is actually already implemented, infused with western concepts and laws which are not contradictory to sharî’a law. « Egyptian law is ninety percent sharî’a law » He argues also that western influences in present Egyptian law are not foreign to Egyptian society or sharî’a law. Most of Egyptian law is based on French law, which is based on Roman law. Sharî’a law and Roman law, 'Ashmâwî argues, share the same legal and cultural heritage, and there are quite a few influences of Roman law in sharî’a law ('Ashmâwî, 1996 : 31-35). I suppose that is the type the type of Shariah Somalia will get, coffee which is not black nor white( mixture of of western system with Islamic system). As RagE Omar's brother is reported to have said the other day, " Somalia will get the same shariah as in Pakistan and other countries". THat probably answers Sheikh Nurs question(why now?): becauase galadi ba ogalatay, after theY reliased somalis are willing to die for their coffee. They said you can have your coffee but only if you mix it with half our milk, which we will pay for, and not drink coffee with the guys that want all black coffee.

  19. Along Afghanistan's War-torn Frontier National Geographic magazine, June 1985 I WILL NEVER KNOW THIS WOMAN'S NAME. Among Afghan villagers it is the custom for women not to tell their names to strangers. On this cold November night she is busily preparing food for the six mujahidin, Afghan freedom fighters, who have escorted me across the Pakistani border to Afghanistan’s embattled Paktia Province and into this small village in the Jaji region. http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/100best/stor yA_story.html
