Open Letter to U.S. Congressman Mr. Donald Payne of New Jersey

quote:The Washington Administration should be aware that Somaliland will be very much useful in fighting terrorism and piracy, in addition to restoring law and order in Mogadishu, Somalia. US Government should use Somaliland as major hub to crackdown the pirates at the Gulf of Aden. JB, you should be utterly ashamed of this indeed. These days some Sl leaders beg for the west to make military bases in Berbera and they are trying to present themselves as better puppets. Do you want to pimp young girls like the French and Yanks do in Jibouti? -
OZ, there are no ifs and buts. Look how chelsea were playing before the lucky Brogba goal: all the momentum was with liverpool. Yes, they showed a quality. But it would have been more interesting with 20 or 30 minutes to go and liverpool still only needing a goal, I would have fancied liverpool. regarding Essien and Gerard, i think the latter is a better and more all around player. ^^ yeah, i noticed the refree was running to give every little tug.

what a game. if only reina had kept Drogbas goal out.......liverpool had them and chelsea were panicking all over the place. PS.hoos= AT?

(Press Release): Somaliland Ministry Of Foreign Affairs
Fabregas replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in Politics
The difference between SL leaders and Eritrea is that the former leaders live in self delusion and play the politics of servitude with the West. Eritrea, though a dictatorship, is self sufficient and knows how to play political hardball. Mr Dualeh, writing a press release about Eritrea may look pleasing to your Ethiopian and Western friends, lakin, for you it will do nothing. Absolutely nothing.Do some better with your time, My Uncle. ps.Eritrea negates the existence of Somaliland because no country in Africa or anywhere else recognised Somaliland. What did he expect Eritrea to do? recognise SOmaliland and say it is a state? ps. the press release needs a a serious proof- read. -
quote:Theologically, Sheik Adil reflects the general evolution of Saudi thinking over the last two decades. During the 1980s he met Osama bin Laden and Abdullah Azzam, a leader of the jihad against the Soviets in Afghanistan. He initially sympathized with their radical position and anger toward the West. Later, he said, he began to find their views narrow, especially after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. This is probably the real reason. Politics.

Nehanda; Sis, the Prophet(SAW) instructed us to follow the Quran, the Sunnah( actions and statements which are authentically attributed to him), and the people that followed it best where his companions or the two generations that followed after him. The Shicas, although they are a diverse group, generally declare Muhamad's closest companions( particularly Abu Bakr and Umar) to be disbelievers as they supposedly stole the caliphate from Ali. Furthermore, they declare the Prophets wife, Aisha, to have commited adultery, and some declare her not to be Muslim. There also a range of theological differences such as the stance on their imams being like propehts, supplicating to Ali, and some even atrributed divinity to Ali. From the Quran and the statements of the Prophet it is clear that the companions are held in the highest esteem, although they can commit mistakes. This is logical since it would not be befitting of any prophet to have close companions, who struggled with him all their lifes, marry him, spread his religion all over the world, to be heretical individuals or people with bad character. Moreover, the companions of the Prophet and his wifes narrated many aspects of Islam such as how to purify yourself after being sexually impure. So, if they were disbelievers and opposed the Prophet as some of the Shicas allege, then much of our deen is baseless and we can't even pray salah correctly. Thus, to be of the sunnah is simply to follow the Prophet's way, the Quran, follow his companions without adding or removing anything to it, or without performing disbelive on any his wife or companions. I know this a bit loaded, but I felt it neccesary to clarify the differences between Sunnah and following Shica.

Zenawi gets grilled on HardTalk. Gets very defensive on TV.
Fabregas replied to Libaax-Sankataabte's topic in Politics
^^ Bro, I don't know what is contained the breasts of men, only Allah does. Thus, if you and Kashafa believe the Ulema sold out on their religion for dollars, you better have evidence or prepare to answer to (rabbi swt). But, if you say SOmalis have no ulema- then there is nothing left to say or argue about. period. ps. this thread was about zenawi, so let us not hijack it....let kashafa continue the debate in another thread. jumacah mubarak ya ikhwan. -

Kashafa, it is a shame that you type words such as, " even it means every Somali city will be destroyed", when you drink fanta, go to school and live in luxury in the West. Which Islam told you that one must pursue his goals even it means every Somali city is destroyed? You speak with an audacity that even Osama and Alshabab would speak with. As for your cyber jihadi insults against the ulema; it is nothing we haven't heard before. You are just repeating what you heard from takfiri dvds like a puppet. Ahhh, "scholars for dollars", " ulema of menstruation, bla bla. Adeer, the ulema of Somalis are well known, yes they make errors, lakin, we don't drink and eat from their dead bodies as you are doing sxb. Why don't present your case like a man and tell us where they are wrong, rather than screaming and cursing like an old women? As for the rest, do not put words and attribute to me misleading statements. Sida nin rag, open a new thread in the Islamic section or here. Ama, continue the other thread. Lakin, ha ika shegeyn in the middle of another thread like a gossiping hoodrat chick. -
this book seems to corroborate what the gov is saying, but one wonders if the deal has the potential to be one sided and exploited by the strong neighbour? ps. type in somalia on the search bar on the side, and you get all the pages mentioning somalia.

O Issue: the Ethiopian occupied Somali territory
Fabregas replied to Alle-ubaahne's topic in Politics
AU, Somalia and Somalis spent a lot of resources trying to regain the O region. Today, Somalia and SOmalis don't have the strategy, unity or resources to do what they failed to do 30 years ago, particularly with the Western Nations more involved in the Horn due to the war on Terror. You can't walk before you crawl. Check out this interesting quote stumbled on the other day from I.M lewis, in 1989; quote: The Somali nation today is clearly deeply divided along traditional lines. The Pan-Somali ideal founded on a culturali dentity rather than the political unity, which was so strong in the 1950s and 1960s, has taken a severe battering........... ................. President Siyad's peace initiative with Ethiopia, which is so beneficial to Ethiopia, has, as we have seen, brought civil war to Somalia. Any hostile pressure exerted by the Siyad regime in Mogadishu, or by its successors, might encourage the Ethiopians to aid the SNM guerillas to dismember Somalia permanently, either by annexing the north of the Republic (the former British Somaliland Protectorate), or by facilitating its secession to join D jibouti. Thus Ethiopia has Somalia in a corner which makes it in the Somali Republic's interest to maintain peace with her powerful neighbour. We may note in conclusion that there is no paradox between this external peace between Ethiopia and Somalia and the co-existent clan anarchy which currently rages inside the latter state. This is entirely consistent with the segmentary character of Somali nationalism. The ****** and the Fragility of Somali Segmentary Nationalism Author(s): I. M. Lewis Source: African Affairs, Vol. 88, No. 353 (Oct., 1989), pp. 573-579 -
The Righteous versus the Deniers: the categories of people mentioned in Surah Al Insan and Surah Ma'un! Surah Insan; As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- Surah Ma'un; Seest thou one who denies the Judgment (to come)? So we see one group of people are the righteous companions of jannah, and the other is the deniers. Some of the scholars said that the one who denies refers to denying the deen and turning away from it. Allah (swt) also describes how both camps treat the needy and orphans: Surah Ma'un ; . Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness),. And encourages not the feeding of the indigent Surah Al Insan; And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- The messenger of Allah (SAW) was an orphan himself. And from amongst his many saying on treating the orphan with kindness is; "A man came to the messenger of Allah complaining of the hardness of his heart. He said, “Would you like to soften your heart and achieve your desire? Then have mercy on the orphans, strike their heads, and feed them from your feed. Thereby you will achieve your heart and achieve your desire. (On the authority of ABU dARDA) Another interesting point is that from both surahs we can discern the difference in the intentions of the the two groups. Interestingly enough, we find that the people mentioned in surah al ma'cun actually do carry out some obligatory acts of Islam, specifically the prayer, which makes you think about the case of the one who totally abandons the prayer and the other obligatory acts. Elsewhere in the Quran, Allah mentions that the hypocrites pray for show and they come to prayer rather reluctantly and lazily. Then, imagine the case of the one who completely abandons it. (?) Sub'anllah. Getting back to my point, Allah (swt) informs us that the intention of their Salah is insincere and carried out for the sake of pleasing the creation; So woe to the worshippers Who are neglectful of their prayers, Those who (want but) to be seen (of men) As for the people mentioned in Surah Insan, the companions of Jannah, there intention is not for any worldly desire, they only seek to please their Rabb, so that they may distance themselves from the fire and hasten to the jannah; 9. (Saying),"We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks. 10. "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." Thus, Allah(SWT), not any human being, reveals to us what is in the breasts of such people and what motivates them. As Ibn Katheer mentions: Mujahid and Sa`id bin Jubayr both said, "By Allah! They do not say this with their tongues, but rather, Allah knows it in their hearts and He commends them for it. Every seeker should seek after this.''. This is the station that every mumin should seek. However, this station is the station of patience, complete slavery to Allah, steadfastness, difficulty, being content with the provision of Allah, and the station of those who are not intoxicated with the dunya. This station is only preserved for the wayfarers, whom Allah(SWT) grants the tickets of Ikhlas( sincerity), Sabr( patience). Allah (SWT) tells us that these people shall be rewarded in abundance for their enduring patience; 11. But Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and (blissful) Joy. 12. And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk. 13. Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. 14. And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility. 15. And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,- 16. Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes). 17. And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- 18. A fountain there, called Salsabil. 19. And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls. 20. And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent. 21. Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. 22. "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." We ask Allah to make us and our families amongst such people and not from amongst the people mentioned in surah ma'cun, Ameen.

Single Mothers on the rise in the somali community
Fabregas replied to Sir-Qalbi-Adeyg's topic in General
Originally posted by Sir-Qalbi-Adeyg: ^ What exactly will it take for you to be convinced? Somali's are the same other black communities when it comes to single mothers. One doesn't need hard evidence or statistics when plain observation is enough. talk about stereotyping. How do you observe if a women is a single mother or not? The fact that she is pushing three kids on a pushchair could mean the husban could at work or chilling with his friends at the local cafe. Chubacka, you have point, lakin, such statements as the one above can not be taken seriously without any evidence or studies to show that there is an epidemic of single mothers and that the issue is like other "black communities" . Peoples observations on such issues count for nothing. Maybe the brother should have just starte a general discussion. -

Independence of Somaliland: Good or Bad for Somalia?

Kenya illegally deporting Somali asylum-seekers
Fabregas replied to rudy-Diiriye's topic in Politics
Originally posted by inspector22: I support Kenya, southern somalis should stop defecating on their land and later invade neighbouring countries. kenya has taken more than enough of it's share of somali refugees. Infact the speaker of Parliament in kenya is somali, the chief commissioner of Police is Somali, the chief jurist of law and higher court of kenya is Somali, the defense minister is Somali, all are from northern Somalia, Puntland and somaliland. Kenya has nothing against high quality somalis, they just don't like the continues influx of lowlife southern somalis, i don't blame them, they have enough internal difficulties as it stands no need to put more weight on them. Personally i highly respect kenyans, they have never showed grudge against somalis and have always wished the best for their northern neighbours.
