quote:The ICU was formed after a government was in place therefore making them according to the sharia people of fitna. The I.C.U was formed when no government was in place all across Southern Somalia. Muqdisho was under the rule of warlords who created a fitnah for 17 years by setting up checpoints and turning Muqdisho into the most dangerous city in the world. A government existed in Badioa but they were scared to come to Muqdisho as the fitnah makers, ie the warlords woudln't let any government take shape in Somalia. Thus, the people of Muqdisho were imprisoned in Muqdisho by the warlords; no government, no international community, no Arab leage, no Imam, no clan elder came to their rescue. In fact the warlords were rewarded with lavish nights in Djibouti hotels and presented with a multitude of weapons, finance and expertise in order to catch wadaads or "Islamists" in Somalia. In one particular instance they kidnapped an Iraqi refugee and when they realised he wasn't the man wanted by the Americans, they literally trimmed of parts his beard to make him resemble the man the Americans wanted. Of course the Americans released him because clearly this wasn't the man they wanted. The Fitnah reached such a level that the warlords used Masajids as rubbish dumps and hundreds of people were being kidnapped and in some cases handed over so that the warlords could earn an income. The I.C.U was created to get rid of this Fitnah and when they did people from other Somali cities across Southern Somalia started to call on them to rid of them of the warlords. After this it was decided by Meles Zenawi and his cohorts that Badaio would be used as a launching pad for thousands of Ethiopian troops and the militias of the warlords for a large scale war against the Islamic Courts. Sure the Islamic Courts had unpleasant/dodgy characters and made many errors during the rule. But which part of the Shariah says you can't struggle against those that openly declare the blood of the Muslims halal and openly clearly state that Shariah shall not be implemented in Somalia? If the I.C.U were guilty of a creating a fitnah; what does the Shariah say about the one who openly declares as his brother/protector an Atheist invader( Meles Zenawi) who said from his own mouth that Shariah will not be accepted in Somalia and that the he prefered Somali Muslims to look after Camels and sheeps rather than rule themselves? Imagine what the Shariah says about the one who stood one top of their tanks and declared that, " he would even bring Jews to occupy Somalia", whilst those very troops(his protectors) were rounding up Somali Women and raping in them in the countryside? Which is the greater fitan, ie to rule by Shariah and make some mistakes or openly side with those that reject it completely and defecate on mosques? sorry if i ranted!

Saxiib, they went to chew every once in a while you see. They don't want to nervously wait in a back corner somewhere for the stuff to arrive whilst sweating nervously and looking out for police.

MARC SMITH***The Trouble With Somaliland*** VIDEO EXLUSIVE
Fabregas replied to MAXIMUS POWERS's topic in General
Waxa la yidhi from ila dhow dhow lagu kalson yahey that Ooodweyne is preparing a 300 minutes video refutation of Mr Marcus Smith. Am just joking ha ha. Marc, wen will wee see a video on your first natian ie Mali? Mali and Zeylac that is sum deep history theree..... @Northerner, the Somalilanders wanted unification with the I.C.U? Who said that? If Alshabab attacked the "apostate" (as they see it) government of Somaliland would they get support? @to the others, who said Awdal is hijacked and been held against it's will? This is often regurgitated in this forum and the only real reason I can think of is simply because they don't belong to the majority clan in Burco and Hargeysa. Some will even claim that the entire Somaliland populace is being held against its will and doesn't support seperation.I have even read( from Somali opponents) that if you belong to another clan you will get killed in Hargesya and Burco, again waxa la yidhi with no evidence! So if the old colonel would march( as some pray for) to Burco Hargeysa everyone would welcome him with open arms and wave the Somali flag? I doubt it. -

Richard Burton said that SOMALi nomads in the interior heard about news about the Crimean war and other events in Europe, which he wasn't even aware of. Also when a person come to visit another nomad, he'd sit down and share "warka".

SN, yeah Khamiis and cimamad are not really Islamic clothing. In fact there is really no such thing as Islamic clothing. There is essentially cultural clothing. You see when Christian kids do nativity play they wear cimamad and wixii madax, i forgot the name, anyway that's Issa and some his people( jews) used to wear. The only Islam requires one to wear certain clothing is Hajj, which is basically the same type of cloth Somalis use? Of course pictures of men especially a dictator and unpleasent images aren't allowed....

I'd rather not bro.I don't assume that those positions he holds are entirely wrong. Firstly, for the obvious reason that he is more knowledgeable than someone like me. Secondly, there are always differences of opinion. But, I believe these days people are quick to give a point of view or understanding and present it (knowlingly/unknowingly) as the only and correct point of view, without clearly stating to the listeners/readers that there are differences of opinion and other stances on the issue, which sometimes leads to young lads taking the words of that Sheikh and claim it must be right since "Sheikh Hebel said so". I'll give you an example, which is unrelated to this particular Sheikh: Sheikh X claims that the Mawlid or commemorating/celebrating the birth of the Prophet Muhamad saw is wrong since it is not from the sunnah and the Ashaba never celebrated it. The Sheikh gives various opinions from modern current scholars who he believes are the best of the scholars in Hadith and Fiqh. However, the Sheikh doesn't mention to his readers/listeners that some prominent Ulema during the ages have allowed people to commemorate the birth of the Prophet (saw). He accues anyone that does it of being from the people of bidah. Then he starts to quote promiment Sheikhs about how this sect or group that celebrates it are from the people of bidah. But at the same Sheikhs he is now quoting are the same ones that said it is permissable to mark the Mawlid of the Prophet Muhamad saw. You see the problem there? The next day the same Sheikh will be asked if suicide bombing is allowed against enemy troops when one is engaged in pshyical warfare. His answer will be that it is allowed since promiment ulema in this day and age have made it permisable. Next, the Sheikh will be asked, " but Sheikh isn't that killing yourself which is considered haram in Islam"? The Sheikh willa argue that it depends on the intention behind the action and will then cite the story about the how the companions of the ditch sacrificed themselves as a means of pleasing Allah swt and Allah swt that they earned a great reward in Surah Buruj. Here, the Sheikh fails to mention several things. Firstly, he didn't clarify or explain to the people that this is a contentious issue with various different opinions, rather he gave the opinion of his favoured scholar and presented his opinion as completely daleel. Secondly, he failed to mention that there is a hadith in which a man is said to have killed himself whilst he was severly bleeding in battle and the Prophet( saw) said something to the effect of that individual being one of the companions of hellfire. Thirdly, he didn't tell his audience that this form of a warfare is completely knew to society and Islam, and thus can be considered a new innovation. Again, you see the problem there? How can a Sheikh categorically state celebrating the mawlid is 100% bidah(innovation) and wrong and hence has no place in Islam, but at the same time claim that suicide bombing or "martydom operations" are totally and catergorically allowed in Islam, because Sheikh X gave this opinion? Can we not apply the same critrea the Sheikh applied to suicide bombing as celebrating Mawlid, ie suicide bombing was not done by the Prophet Muhamad saw or his companions, thus it is an innovation? Note that I'M not saying that this particular Sheikh has done or said any of those particular things.

If khat was banned in the U.K it wuld become just like high grade(skunk). Weed is banned, but does it eradicate any problems facing the youth? No! infact not long ago the government downgraded it and then upgraded it again! .I could ppl also imagine people writing to their m.ps and writing petitions to the government if any such decision was on the cards. @marc smith, Somalia or England or North America it will have the same effect...ie drive it underground and from what I know of the drug problem in the U.K it could become popular and "ghetto" to the youngers".....

quote:You guys are too proud to admit that that's a nasty habit. sum ppl don't have forks and knifes to eat with. Matter of fact many ppl in the world don't have NOTHING to eat. If we are taking Muhamad ibn Abdullah (saw)then we should be worried about how we watch people starve and die in Darfur and Somalia and do nothing. Some people eat civilised and throw away their food or feed eat to their dogs. More many is spent on make up and pet food then is spent on the starving people in the world. So before we reach the lavish and "civilized" stage of eating with three fingers and gucci knife fork with a prada plate, we need to feed our starving people.
