The rebels must have support and arms from sum1....

The world powers are said to have been heavily involved in the TPLF taking over Adiss Ababa, if I not mistake some Ethios say the Americans negotiated them to peacefully enter the city. Secondly, what about places like Ocadenia? That war is on the same level as Somalia and there is another alleged genocide against the Anuak people by the highlanders and soldiers. So show me Ethiopia which is abandoned, with no aid, no military support and they would fight over their country. Do you think TPLF without Americans and West can keepa grip of all those ethnicities and fight so many wars? My response to them would have been: firstly, being of the same ethnic group, religion and language doesn't gurantee cohesions, thus there are plenty of examples of civil wars throughour history. Number 2, I would kindly reply it is none of their business as this is my country and not theirs!

'Defeated terrorists' are not my words. Kindly refrain from questioning my position with words not my own. Whether the mayor cares or not doesn't matter in the end. What matters is whether you care. Abdullahi Yusuf has said ample times that those wanting to come to the table with him must lay down their arms and recognise the government. He also said that he is at war with the "religous" men in Somalia and that he would fight them and remove their wealth from them. The proof, in his own words, are on these very forums. I can't really be bothered 2 search, Ya Ahhi. Secondly, the defeated terrorists remark was not attributed to you, rather in general it was used by many TFG supporters on these boards. We see there is a general trend from TFG politicians to reach out and try have dialogue with the terrorists they couldn't catch for Bush and Zenawi, but that is probably a good thing. As for caring about Somalis suffering, Allah swt knows what is my heart and it is HE who has legislated that Muslims shouldn't surrender or become servants to any man that occupiers/attacks even an inch of their land!

Xiin, shabaab is a name that was used for all Young Somali Islamists from every Somali region, but today some people are trying to monopolize the the name/entity. They are the shacaab themselves and many of the shacaab are supporting them. Secondly, the resistance is not being done by one little group( Al Shabaab)or subclan.

Kashafa, I don't disagree with negotiation and reconcialition/dialogue. In fact, if Zenawi wanted to talk to the I.C.U, I would advocate for that. I am for talks even with the warlords leaders of the T.F.G or even George Bush. I just don't agree with this wishful thinking that say; Somalis( all political groups) will sit a tree; sort out their differences; hug/make up; and then Ethiopians will watch from a distance/pack their bags and head of to the border. I am also of the position that NO Reconcialition can happen in a country that is occupied, it has never happened in history. Somalis can't reconcile whilst there are Ethiopian Troops in Somalia, some might even say SOmalis can't reconcile full stop, but that is another debate altogether.

Originally posted by ThePoint: ^Your cartoon would be appropriate if anyone was holding a gun to the Asmara Group's head. Alas - the international community is pleading with them for their involvment to no avail. Good try there. Funny cartoon tho. Didn't Nur Cade meet them in Asmara? Didn't Mr Yusuf state that any opposition groups must disarm and recognise his authority? You have to differentiate between negotiating and surrendering Somalia to Meles Zenawi on a plate! Anyway why the sudden rush to negotiate with "defeated terrorists", whom were supposed to be rounded up and captured? Even the warlord mayor of Muqdisho is know pleading for dialogue, perhaps he cares about the "people" now?

Afka Amxaariga ayaan ku wada hadalnaa mana dirirno ee Idinkoo Soomaali ah oo hal Qowmiyad ah maxaad isku heysaan oo aad isu dileysaan? What a load of rubbish. Ethiopia has been run by dictators ever since it was created. The current dictator is responsible for the deaths of thousands of people in Anuak region, Ocaden region and Oromia. He killed students on the street in broaddaylight because they disputed an election. The country's elites are fighting their own "kin" in Afreweki of Eritrea. So Ethiopia is hardly a good example for multi- ethnic cohesion. I would love to see Western forces stop caring, funding and policing the Ethiopian dicatorship. Believe me, there will an immense power struggle like Somalia whereby Amharas, Oromos and Tigrays would fight over who rules the country. As Ahmad Diriye, I would love to see him if he felt Ethiopians were targeting another subclan, would he care, speak out?

Originally posted by xiinfaniin: ^^ ^^That's a start though. Adeer Yey and his warlord goverment are part of the conflict. They have followers, international and regional support! If one is serious in resolving somali conflict through reconciliation, one must be practical in the way he or she formulates his/her argument. You know it takes two to tango. In other words, when you reconcile/negotiate with someone they must be willing to do the same with you. I think this is the part you and Baashi haven't thought long about. You assume that everybody wants to negotiate, reconcile and liquidate some of their held power. For example, with regards to Yeey and his supporters, they are intent on using their international support and Ethiopian backing to attempt to destroy and humilate their opponents. Five years ago, one his hardcore supporters told one of my relatives that they would CIA and others to subdue Wadaads and destroy their powers as their place was only in the Masjid. These are type of people you are dealing with. How can you reconcile with a person who doesn't want to? Ina Yeey has always made his choice the gun. This is the same man that stood in the false parliament and declared that he would wage war against all religous men, take their wealth and remove them from very insitution in Somalia. Of course his supporters will blindly follow what he screams. The condition of this man is that anyone who wants to negotiate with him must recognize him, lay down their weapons and approach him smaller man than him. Who's going to meet those demands. There are also the other warlords who compromise the anti terror or fighting Islam alliance, I tell you those men only understand the gun and the likes of those will only be subdued throught that process. What is there to compromise with them? AH, you can sell 50 wadaads only this year? You can only set up 5000 chechpoints or rape less women? Those men are xawayaan saxiib and they will be treated and subdued like the xawayaan they are, if they don't repent and stop the harm they are doing. Several of them including the warlord/false mayor of Muqdisho wants to talk with his rivals after they inflicted many losses on his men. Thus reconciliation and negotiation has to be sincere. It will be useless if the same old warlords are returned to power and are allowed to do as they please. Thousands of Somalis can't be wasted over 2 years fighting against warlords and Ethiopia only for the same people to be returned to power under the slogan of reconcialition. Somalis have had dozens of peace meetings and reconcialition with no avail. That is because the same bunch of criminals have been appeased each time under the guise of them representing their clans. Most people aren't against reconciliation as such, but they are against appeasing Ethiopians and warlords through the backdoor via reconcialition slogans. This is perhaps what our good friend Baashi reads as "advocating for more violence" and " killing maato". Although one could say Nur Cade is perhaps making more of a sincere effort to negotiate, unlike the other men who compromise the T.F.G......

Dabshid, I don't understand why went of on a lecture about people believing in killing innocent people and aid workers, because that is not the issue being discussed and nobody believes in such a thing. I am sure you know which entity has killed the most innocents in Somalia recently? But I believe Somalis sould resist the occupiers and checkpoint maruading warlords( the ones you see as liberators) of their country. If anything it is the Ak47 that has made Xabashis run from so many parts of Somalia! Secondly, where did I say I was against Nur Cade's initiatives? I am asking what has he done to merit such praises? What has he done for Somalis and Somalia? He supposed to have a hand in releasing Ahmad Diriye from a prison manned by Ethiopians on Somalis soil. So he begged an alien state to release one of his citizens, shows what is wrong with Somalia right know. This thread is about Ethiopians leaving certain sections of Muqdisho and you started commending/ praising Cade. Again, when Ethiopian withdraw from Somalia will have nothing to do with him. They will withdraw when their own national interests and security are met or when they have no choice. Anyone who believes this man has the capacity to tell Ethiopia to pack up and leave Somalia is certainly deluded. Had that been his position and belief from the start, who wouldn't have got this job in the first place! I'll give it to him that he is reaching out the opposition; the same ones last year who were declared unworthy or talking to, when Xabashis were in a position of power. But today Xabashis want the T.F.G to talk the defeated, weak- terrorists, whom were supposed to be rounded up or killed. That's again probably due to the AK47 rather than their desire to negotiate with " terrorists".

Football Tournament for Somaliland Community in UK

Is this all part of strategy for promoting Somaliland these days; i mean female archaelogy iyo balayo iyo kubad. Maybe this a more effective to get anti Somalilanders on board? -
Juje, I thought I was the only that noticed; some men are angry( at least they appear to be) at some Ethiopian forces leaving certain corners of Muqdisho! Cajiib!

I'm not saying if you lied, he can lie. I'm saying that I don't know if you lied, because I don't what is in your heart nor do I know you personally. You could have been given wrong information. Thus I can't make a judgement. Same way Shariff could have been given wrong evidence(information) by someone. If you are certain that He is a snich and a 100% utter liar, then I won't ask further any evidence from you, for you seem certain of this, but Allah swt will!
