Salaamu Aleeykum Khalifa, subhanna Allah brother. Please do not argue about something you have no firm knowledge of. I agree that you have the right to disagree with me if you are not familiar with an issue I'm talking about. But that does not give you the right to assume I'm saying something so evil about our Prophet Alayhi Salaam. Please read the following and insha Allah you will benefit from it. http://www.islam-qa.com/index.php?QR=20085&ln=eng and also, http://www.islam-qa.com/index.php?ln=eng&QR=10382 Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum To my knowledge if a man has a slave woman he can have sexual relations with her. That is in the Quran: وَالَّذÙينَ Ù‡Ùمْ Ù„ÙÙÙرÙوجÙÙ‡ÙمْØَاÙÙظÙونَ And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts from illegal sexual acts). Except with their wives and the (women slaves and captives) whom their right hands possess, for (then) they are not to be blamed, (Al-Ma'arij 70:30). Also sister, you can refer to the Sealed Nectar, which is a biography of the Prophet alayhi salaam, you can find it at any islamic book store. If not, click on this link insha Allah. http://www.dar-us-salam.com/store/004.html I agree with you brother Khalaf that we should learn our deen. Not only from the internet and forums, but legitimately by reading the books of the notable scholars and attending regular classes on Aqeeda, Seerah and the stuff. There are many lectures available online that you can always download on your mp3, ipod, or burn to cds and listen to them while commuting in your car. There are Islamic universities around the world and some are even in our own backyard and we dont even know about them. There is also nothing wrong with discussing a topic on the forums, a lot of people learn this way if those answering cite their postings. I did not do that because it's something I know, i've taken this in an actual class about marriage in Islam and read it in the Seerah books. The Prophet Alayhi Salaam DID NOT marry Mariyah al Qubtiya, she was his concubine, his slave, she was given to him as a gift from Egypt. She also gave birth to his son Ibrahim who died at the age of four. So it is okay to have slaves, and it is okay for a man to have sexual relations with his slave woman. As for nowadayz, I don't see how that is possible since we don't fight wars with nonMuslims and slavery has been abolished in many countries. Will someone more knowledgeable explain this insha Allah and site sources to correct me if I'm wrong. Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum Brothers and sisters if you got 30 minutes of your time for a lecture that will keep you at the edge of your seat, please click on this link insha Allah. http://www.emanrush.com/broadcasting.htm I was in Chicago at the time and i was blessed to listen to it face to face. Let me just say that it was captivating and it might not have the same effect on video, however, the talk is still the same and as powerful. Please share your comments on it insha Allah. Salaamu Aleeykum Subhanna Allah....a convert friend once told me that I'll never understand how it feels to convert to Islam since i was born a Muslim. I was thinking, the posts from Salafi Da'wah and Simple Nomad resemble that feeling. When you are lost, hedoistic, and you completely abandon the Thikr (remeberance) of Allah from your life and one day, out of the mercy of Allah you find your self a new born Muslim, praying, reading the Quran, taking Islamic classes and little by little you literally feel this light in your heart and your face radiates and shines. Your always happy and smiling, morning and night you are thanking Allah for everything, you just cant remember how your life was before this sudden guidance. Believe me, at that moment, i can understand how my convert friend felt. Music was something i never thought i can stop. My brother used to tell me "don't you feel this emptiness in your heart, don't you get bored?" Arrogantly, i used to say no, and i used to convince my self that music makes me happy. In reality, every song changed my mood. One made me happy, one made me sad and one made me cry for no apparent reason. Only now when i don't cry for no reason did i realize what music used to do to me. The other day i was in my friend's car and she was listening to the latest Somali Music, all of the sudden i was sad, missing the old nasty days, and i could literally, walaahi literally, hear shaytan telling me, "don't you miss partying?" Subhanna Allah, when will we realize. Anywayz, I'm glad i saw this post, i always knew music was haram. It always seemed like the abvious, until i learned there are so called scholars today that say music is halaal but the idle talk of the singing is haram. I was surprised to see so called Islamic Anasheed in the forms of video clips walaahi with non hijabi women. I was thinking, those are the truly misguided ones. Because even those many listen to music, they know deep down it is haram and that they should stop listening to it someday. But the other ones are claiming musical instruments are okey if you are calling to Allah. Another thing i wanted to share with you guys (i talk too much eh) i visited my brother in jail the other day, and he was telling me about the music of Jannah. How the malaika sing for the people of Jannah. Then Dawood Alahyi Salaam sings with the most beautiful voice Allah gave to any creation. Then Allah comes and reads Surat Arrahmaan. My brother almost started to cry. He couldnt even finish talking but started laughing and saying Allah will do that for his Ibaad. May Allah increase our Iman. Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum I'm not really knowledgeable, but I think i know the answer to this question and insha Allah I'll do my best to share it. (correct me if i'm wrong insha Allah) The Prophet Alayhi Salaam was married to only Khadija Radiya Allahu Anha from the time he was 25 years old till she passed away when he was around 50. He then married Aisha Radiya Allahu Anha, and Sawda bintu Zam'a. Among his wives were also Hafsa Bintu Omar ibn Al Khatab, Zaynab bintu Khuzayma (died 3 months after he married her), Ummu Salama Hind Bintu Umaya, Zaynab Bintu Jahsh, Juwayriya Bintu AlHarith, Ummu Habiba Bintu Abi Sufyan, Safiya Bintu Huyay, Maymuna Bintu AlHarith (not Juwayriya's sister) Radiya Allah Anhum. Of all of those, Safiya bintu Huyay was not Muslim when he married her, she was Jewish, she was a slave since her people lost the battle of Khaybar she was enslaved, the Rasool alayhi salaam freed her and married her. But later on she accepted Islam. Mariya AlQubtiya was given to as a gift from Coptics of Egypt. She gave birth to his son Ibrahim who died at a young age like all the sons of the Rasool alayhi salaam. The Rasool alayhi salaam also married Asma' Bintu Nu'man AlKandiya and Amra Bintu Yazeed but he divorced them before consummating the marriage. At the time of his death, I think the Rasool Alayhi Salaam had 9 wives at the same time. The prophet was allowed, FROM ALLAH, to have more than four wives. This is because he was the Prophet, and many of those marriages had political and social reasons. For example, Allah commanded the Rasool to marry Zaynab bintu Jahsh after Zayd bin Thabit divorced her. Zayd was the prophet’s son by adoption. The Arabs at the time considered the adopted son as if he was a natural son and his wife would become haram to the father just like the natural son. This marriage of the Prophet to Zaynab destroyed that belief and Allah mentions it in Surat al Ahzab. To answer your question, yes the prophet did divorce those two women. There was a reason, i only know that one of them he divorced her because she was new to Islam and she told the prophet Authu Bilaah Mink. The other one i dont know exactly, my notes say Physical defect with her. For the second part of your question, Muslim men are allowed to marry Kitabi women (Jewish and Christian) who are pious, virgin, and practicing Jewish or Christian. This is not just keeping her, it is actual marriage. The way i understood it is that it is discouraged in the land of the Kufaar. Also, a man can have sexual relations with his slave woman without marriage. The children he has with her are legitimate. If she, however, has another husband, then he can not touch her. Hope that helped insha Allah. The prophet alayhi salaam only had one mother; Amina bintu Wahb (this is only logical). But he had a Murdica, Haleema Assa'diya, she breast fed him. Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum ...Ù‚Ùلْ هَاتÙواْ بÙرْهَانَكÙمْ Ø¥ÙÙ† ÙƒÙنتÙمْ صَادÙÙ‚Ùين ...Say (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ), "Produce your proof if you are truthful." (Al-Baqarah 2:111) It is so sad that some of us take what the others say (Muslims and non-Muslims) and not do any objective research on their own, say things that they have no knowledge, and on top of that be content and arrogant...!! May Allah guide us....but brother Darqaqi......please and please, what is your evidence that Shaikh Muhammad Abdul-Wahab (may Allah have mercy on his soul and admit him into Paradise and make all the knowledge he left behind a sadaqa jariya for him) was a Takfiri (i.e. called other Muslims non-Muslim)?? Provide something from his own books and teachings, or those he taught where he calls a Muslim a Kafir...!! I will send you $250 by Western Union walaahi if you show me that....!! If you dont have that evidence, and you wont have it, then fear Allah and dont propagate lies about a Muslim scholar...!! Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum Sister Haseena....i could not have agreed with you more abaayo....jazaki Allah for clearing things up for us...we definitely needed it...!! What really throws me off the wall is to see people argue with ignorance.....but who am i to get so angry and worked up about something that existed for a long time and is part of our human nature...!! However, allow me to rub one point in your faces....it is a common sense one: Islam is a religion that is perfect and divinely revealed and protected. Muslims are the followers of this great religion. Keep in mind they are humans and therefore they have mannnnnnnny flaws (disobedience to Quran and Sunnah). The actions of Muslims can not be used to condemn an Islamic ruling or praising it. It simply aint right. You can't say Physics should not be taught because all the freshmen in college failed the class....and you can’t say vinegar tastes so nasty it should be haram when Allah already made it halaal...!! You have no right to do so, because again common sense says dont judge the actions judge the rulings.....!! What also works me up is how we speak against things that the non-Muslims raise questions about...and instead of us getting on the offensive side, we get on the defensive side and we just end up losing because we criticize Islam not attempt to educate married people...!! There are so many social, political, economical and personal violations of the Quran and Sunnah every where you look, but we focus on polygamy and say 'those controlling men'...how come we dont say 'those women that dont know their rights'...!! We are becoming obsessed with Man and Woman relations that we can’t move forward in our lives....Billah aleekum WAKE THE HECK UP AND LEARN AND ISLAM not rubbish...!! Allah Yahdeena...!! Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum I'm quite sad to see that we talk about Islam and Islamic rulings with our opinions....as if Allah is gonna test the amount of intellect we put into the duties we must have fulfilled...!! "Why did you not wear the hijab (obey my commandments) my slave?" "Well, Allah, I understand it was mandatory to wear the hijab (obey your commandments) as stated in the Quran and Sunnah and wearing (abiding by it) it would have shown submission and obedience to you, however, my intellect decided that it did not apply to me because (blah, blah, blah)...!" Sisters, please and please let us not reason with our bad desires.....not wearing hijab is a sin...Allah will question you about it...and possibly punish you for it....Shaytan makes the forbidden beautiful for us...and yes i admit that a loooot of times it is hard to fight those temptations....but let us not make excuses and pin point others sin and be content with our sins....if you won't obey Allah's commandments...dont deny them or interpret them to your own convenience...!! Some of the sisters raised the issue of "Some Hijabi girls are worse that then non-Hijabi ones"...!! And i'll agree with this but not to the extent that it is not the majority....infact the majority of the sisters that wear the hijab are consistent except for few that lack the knowledge and maybe self-esteem, iman or maybe even willpower...!! I was one of those who wore pants with a hijab...and it took a white (non-Muslim) girl to correct that action for me (how sad when i think of it again)..!! I was one of those girls who wear the "so called" hijab...it fell off of my head conveniently, and at times of weddings and parties hijab was not even an obligation...but Alhamdulilah it is not like that anymore because I had a moment to think "hint: think" about the purpose...the real purpose..!! Allah says in the Quran: Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment (for the disbelievers, evil-doers), and (there is) Forgiveness from Allâh and (His) Good Pleasure (for the believers, good-doers), whereas the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment. (Al-Hadid 57:20) Sisters and brothers: is this life really worth the disobedience, the so called good looks, and worse of all, our intellect telling us what is wanted of us and what is not...?? Keep in mind the horrific things that will happen after you lose your life which can be at any second right about now...!! I'll agree with Azmaya....with knowledge comes obedience....and with obedience comes Iman....and may Allah guide us all to learn our religion, obey Allah and increase out Iman....AMEEN..!! Salaamu Aleeykum Azmaya...sister i wish and hope you can go...and just to let you know (maybe even encourage you, this is the last time the class is being taught, the last class that Indiana might have as well because the way i heard it your numbers of attendees are also low)...!! So try your best abaayo....register now and dont wait till the 7th, Shaytaan is quite very active you know...you dont have to pay right away....and walaahi abaayo if i had a job i would love to have been able to help you out with some of the fees....when i first took alMaghrib class a friend of mine paid for it and you cant imagine how much i pray for her...!! Anywayz....i'll contact you insha Allah....do you live in Indianapolis or close to it....will we be able to meet insha Allah..? Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum Azmaya...sister seems like you need to smacked from the whispers of Shaytan a little...!! It is the last time Shaykh Yaser Birjas is teaching this class...and it is the last time the class is even being offered....!! Abaayo i know being a pre-med student is tough....and i know taking 19 credit hours a quarter is extremely difficult...however, two weekends of your time for learning Dunya/Akhira stuff is worth more than gold to me walaahi...and i'm sure if you just plan ahead and study ahead and save about $50 a month you'll be able to break even financially...but believe me you will never forget the experience...!! Like Abrar said....the brothers and sisters are just very welcoming and i heard reer indiana are even more friendlier...so i'm looking forward to it...would love to meet you and take the class with you.....!! Please sister try your best to attend....contact their student affairs and they'll be able to work with you on a payment plan insha Allah...!! We cant just wish to learn Islam and not do it sis so pleaseeeee register for the class...!! I was thinking about American Open University as well but you cant go to two different universities at the same time so i rather take AlMaghrib double weekend seminars every 3-6 months....and i dont even have a job walaahi....i'm stretching my finaid so much....walhamdulilah allah yibarik...!! Abrar...i'm not sure either about Chicago...but i'll try my best...!! Do you have surat al-Anam as a take home exam as well...!! If yes, my tip is: listen to Ajami's recitation of AlAnam all the time and you'll end up memorizing it and the answers will be easier to be extracted insha Allah...(beautiful surah)...!! Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum Abraaaaaaaaaaaar...god abaayo i looooooove you for the sake of Allah...!! Walaahi you just cant imagine how excited i am to read what u posted...yani i got tears in my eyes when you said Shaykh Yasir Qadhi.....gabar...i'm addicted to the brother....i bought every ilmquest.org cd he has...(not all exactly but a large portion) and subhana Allah the more you listen to him you feel your Eman increasing...Muhammad Alshareef calls it Eman Rush...and yes indeed....Muhammad Alshareef is an amazing speaker.....my friend now thinks she's married to him.......lol.....he has a story telling to every lesson and its just so....walaahi abaayo words are never enough to describe AlMaghrib and what i learned through it....!! Believe it or not abaayo the first time i went to an AlMaghrib class i was forced...my friend paid for it, i was not wearing hijab (real hijab) and i was so bad with prayers....and i can only say now that i Thank Allah then Yasir Qadhi and AlMaghrib for everything i do...!! We had Muhammad Alshareef last weekend for Usool alFiqh....and i'll tell you that he is sooo happy with Qabeelat Majd....!! I was so disappointed about our Qabeela in Columbus closing (Hayl) but when i see Ittihaad and hear what Majd does i feel like we deserved it....(yeah, we are that bad)...!! I read about the brother that was hit by the car...but i never knew he was Somali...subhanna Allah i pray for his well being....they said he was a lot better now so insha Allah, Allah will reward him for the injuries...!! I'm glad to hear many Somalis were representing...!! Here in Columbus (Zero, 0, Nooo) Somali brothers ever showed up for the classes, but we had about 10 somali sisters in the last class....!! The girls in windsor were wondering why the somalis werent so open to AlMaghrib type of institutions or seminars and I had a couple of different theories for it one of them being the famous somali saying of "diin lacag lagama bixiyo, you dont pay money for religion"...and the fact that many of the ones in Columbus were just not aware of it....but Toronto is a bigger community with more Somalis that are very well diversified so it was easier to get the word to them...am i right or were the numbers of Somalis relatively small....!! R you questioning whether i am in or not for the ilmfest.....sweetie....i just cant wait for April 21st....its gonna be a weekend of wonders insha Allah...!! I am so happy to hear you are coming...is "A" coming as well?....we are related but we never met...i dont know any one in Chi-Town, but they'll be providing accommodations....i'm trying to get as many as my friends as possible....but so far it aint lookin' so good....i aint giving up though insha allah...!! I just dont know what to say to mom...cuz the traveling is kinda getting out of hand...!! I'm going to Fiqh of Love in Indiana in 2 weeks insha allah and then my next class after that would be Sciences of the Quran in either June or July in Michigan or Maryland....which ever one works out better....!! By the way you need to start studying for the exam right away....the exam for log was not hard but it was not easy either...quite tricky (maybe for me cuz i was not ready)...but to help you study listen to Sharh Kitab Attawheed for Yasir Qadhi, its on www.audioislam.com aqeeda, actions relating to the Muslim....!! Yesssssss, i talk a lot and i really have a lot more to say but hopefully we'll meet in few weeks...!! Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum We are almost at the end of Usool al Fiqh and i must admit....it is soooooooooo much information and its just like wow.......very interesting....just when you think you have a good amount of Islamic knowledge Usool comes and humbles like there is no tomorrow....so now i feel like Islam has soooo many different angles you can learn it from so insha Allah my learning experience will never end...!! Abrar.....how is your second weekend of LOG....would luv to hear all about it...hope you are enjoying it...!! Hint. I know you took the class because I know of someone you know....!! Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum Rahima, good points sis....i always agreed with you with the fact that this place is a temporary spot for us and we should definitely leave...but where to is question number one...!! Don't get me wrong I'm not saying the Muslim world is too tiny for us, but where ever you go today injustice is present...!! With that being said, I learned something from a recent AlMaghrib class i took.. ..!! Islam spread in the world in 4 different ways: 1. Muslim traders and merchants doing business with different non-Muslims. 2. 'Ulama and missionaries calling people to Islam or teaching them about Islam. 3. The kings, nobles and elites of a society accepting Islam and influencing the rest to do so. 4. Jihad We also have to realize that despite the constant attacks and bashing of the Muslims, Islam spreads even faster..!! Allah is really protecting this religion...and Allah also protects the good Muslims...!! So, let’s not leave and lets build better Muslim communities that are law abiding and truly Islamic...!! May Allah help us insha Allah..Ameen..!! Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum Very interesting topic, but i'm just not sure exactly what the Australian govt is asking the Muslims to do....!! Accept Secularism? Are they gonna put them through lie detectors to determine if they really believe it in their hearts or not..!! Exactly what kind of acceptance are they seeking...?? Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum Blessed sis i think they did have it in London but i think it got cancelled like Australia...!! About online classes....i think there are other institutes that offer correspondence classes....i'll find out and tell you insha Allah...what do you say we start together....???? Seriously...i'd like to have a partner and I'm quite thirsty for it...!! The one and only....sis/bro, AlMaghrib i think goes where ever there is a huge demand for it....they have to see actions...check out their website and forums....you'll learn a lot....!! Unless you're in Columbus (we got shut down ), there is hope for you insha Allah...!! Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum This is goin' dead...i dont see any answers...and i'd luv to know the answers...may i just go ahead...!! Munafiq: nafaqa is what an animal called jarboa makes in the desert, it creates secret holes that has two openings...islamically its when a person pretends to be a believer when they hide a secret disbelief...!! Istiqhfar: asking Allah for forgiveness...!! Barakah: literally an increase in something..religiously an increase in something from Allah...blessings...!! An islamic dictionary would be great huh...!! Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum SB: i really dont believe in arguing with those who dont deserve it, so i simply won't...but i just want to let you know there is a difference between criticism and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism...!! How about you think about the difference and then, think about the words "dump and dumper"...!! And if you must say that i am confused, i will agree with that and tell you that yes i am confused by people like you who make comments that are not based on knowledge...!! And yes, i was not following the constructive criticism with you, i didnt think you deserved it...!! x_quizit....i agree....a friend of mine and i once argued about whether women can give lectures or not...she said it was absolutely haram for a women's voice to be heard by non mahram no matter what she had to say....thinking that my very religious brother would have the answer i went to him and he agreed with her...!! I went online and searched reliable sources for a reasoning...and i found a fatwa given by Albani rahimahu Allah that agreed with the fact that women can give lectures....i went back to my brother, he was first surprised that I questioned what he said, second he listened to my daleels and then he said “waaw, ajeeeeb, you are rightâ€...!! I felt soooo good about challenging him...not b/c he was wrong but b/c I was able to find an answer myself...!! Moral of the long story is that you dont have to take what anyone tells you....believe me my brother is really quite knowledgable..and i always took the haram and halal from him and never questioned him....even though I knew he made mistakes sometimes b/c he’d come back and tell me sorry you don’t have to do that no more....!! So, how capable is an average Muslim of finding the truth? Very capable in my opinion.....so let us do just that instead of criticizing the wadaads...!! My friend still does not agree with the fact that women can lecture...but i simply said...show me your proof and dont tell me i think..!! Next time a sheikh tells you this is wrong/right, and you find it hard to swallow, ask in a very polite manner for what he is using as a daleel/proof...!! Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum.. Thanx for sharing that with us sis...jazaki Allah..!! Kafaaxiye...sorry i had to ruin it for you, but i wont even attempt at those since they involve Giggling..!! Just a few though, to fight the temptation...!! Sabr: patience, on what Allah forbids, on what Allah obligates and what Allah predestined..!! Shirk: literally means partnering up...religiously is having another partner with Allah that you perform acts of worship to..!! Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum I dont know the answer to all of these but I guess I can give it a try...please correct us or post the correct answers insha Allah...!! Dikir: Dhikr is the remembrance of Allah. This can be done at all times of the day starting from the time you wake up, going into the bathroom, making wuduu, praying, during prayer, after prayer, remembrance of the morning and night, leaving the house, driving, drinking, eating, dressing, undressing and i dont think i can list all of them...!! We must be careful in saying the prayers in the manner in which the prophet alayhi salaam did...!! Hadith: the sayings of the prophet alayhi salam that have been narrated from his companions radiya allahu anhum...!! Adab: akhlaaq, manners, discipline..!! Bid’ah: any newly innovated matter in the Deen. Anything we do to get closer to Allah but was not done by the prophet Alayhis salaam....!! Dawah: literally means invitation, the act of calling a Muslim or non-Muslim to the worship of Allah and doing righteous deeds. Fatwa: when a scholar gives the religions ruling on an issue..!! Fiqh: the understanding of Sharee'a to come up with rulings of issues...!! Fitnah: tribulations, issues, matters or things that can cause Muslims to either deviate or commit sins...it can be either large scale (i.e. I consider TV's with cable or satellites to be a fitnah for societies, or individual base, when a brother or a sister talk to each other in a seducing manner). Hawaa: Hawaa, the wife of Adam? Or Hawaa like in desire....there is an ayah that says the meaning of "have you seen the one that makes his hawaa (desires) his ilaah (diety of worship)"..!! Ijtihaad: when scholars make a ruling based on deduction....for instance, alcohol is haram b/c it alters the state of the mind, therefore drugs are haram b/c they alter the state of the mind...!! Iqaamah: iqamat Assalaat....the standing up for the salat...!! Madhhab: literally would mean the path in which a person goes...and i think religiously it would mean the path a scholar takes...!! Taqwaa: literally means to protect something...religiously means to protect ourselves from the anger and punishment of Allah..!! Thawab: reward...what Allah gives us when we do good deeds...!! Tawheed: literally means to make one...religiously to make Allah one in three aspects, his lordship (creates, sustains and nourishes), his worship (praying, slaughtering, calling for refuge and help spiritually), and His names and attributes (they are perfect and unique)...!! Tafseer: interpretation, usually used for Quran, but i guess it could also be used for ahadeeth...!! Fii Amaani'Laah

Anywhoo....let me know how it goes...and I dont know who Tamina is but please let her know about the class in windsor...would luv to meet some somalis in windsor...!! I'm kinda scared of Usool al Fiqh...for someone that is just now learning about Islam I kinda feel like the material is a bit advanced...but khayr insha Allah...!! I'm also looking forward to a class in Indianapolis about Fiqh of Love...lol....!! For you to prepare for the class i'd suggest going to ww.audioislam.com and listen to Sharh Kitab Attawheed by the same instructor...!! I dont know about you but to me Tawheed was a totally new subject when i took the seminar....i had to call my brother and tell him "i learned today about something called Tawheed Arruboobiya, Aluuhiya and Asma wa Sifaat, does that exist?" Let's just say my brother was almost heart broken when he find out i didnt know...he is much happier with me now...!! (Yeah this whole changing names business is driving me nuts, its one of the reasons i wasnt coming here much, i was totally confused with the people who seemed to have been posting a lot and i didnt know them...lol...) Rahima....I heard they used to have AlMaghrib in Australia...why did it stop....!! They closed it in Columbus Ohio cuz the community was not so active or something....i pray that we get it back cuz this whole travelling business is gonna offset itself with my school schedule soon...!! Was the class you took Usool AlFiqh or Evolution of Fiqh....i'm taking the Usool one soon insha Allah...!! I'v never seen Muhammad AShareef in real life but i'v heard so much that i cant wait insha Allah...!! Fii Amaani'Laah

Salaamu Aleeykum I am so filled with all types of different emotions from reading this post and I just dont know where to start....but first thing is first..the purpose of the thread...!! From the names mentioned I'm only very well familiar with Sh. Yasir Qadhi....subhannalah...he has a way of turning hearts and heads walaahi....he is an AlMaghrib Institute instructor that teachers Aqeedah...i'd recommend it to everyone...he has a lot of lectures online at www.audioislam.com...!! Yasir Fazaqa is really good as well....Mohammad ibn AlFaqih i heard lots of good things about as well...he is also an instructor with AlMaghrib...!! Since some of you sound like you’re from Canada, ya’ll must be familiar with Sh Muhammad AlShareef….great speaker masha Allah…!! Another of my favorite speakers would be Dawood Adeeb…!! Amr Khalid....i'd recommend for anyone that speaks Arabic.....you'll get Egyptian Style EmanRush...!! Truly and totally amazing...!! You can listen to him at www.islamway.com...!! Any recommendation on websites to listen to sh. Mukhtar Maghouri....i'm curious after all the good things you have said...!! SB....I really think the best reply to you was given by brother/sister Ashabul AlKahf....Allah him self tells you in the Quran to ask those of knowledge if you don't know...!! Brother anyone who has an atoms weight of knowledge more than you deserves your respect....how dare you compare a Muslim brother that teaches about Islam and calls to Allah to Dump and Dumper....may Allah forgive you and me but I only see an extreme sense of arrogance coming from reading your posts...!! No one said that 'Ulama are infallible.....no one said we worship what they teach....but we all know out of common sense that we do not read the Qur'an and the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Alayhi Salaam and come up with laws and regulations...!! We have great scholars who dedicate their lives to Allah and his teaching His message, the least they can get from an average layman like you is to ask Allah to forgive their sins and increase them in knowledge so that they are conveying the true message....!! I agree with the fact that some people do hold their Sheikhs in a higher position that they should be doing, I agree with the fact that many so called shuyukh today are not differentiating between Islam and culture, however all that does not mean we can disrespect them and call them dump…!! Remember the greatest people in the world after the prophets peace be upon them are the 'Ulama.....!! Please read your posts again and ponder over your words...realize that ignorance and arrogance are man's greatest enemy...!! I do apologize if I have offended you and may Allah forgive all of us...!! Salaamu Aleeykum Subhanna Allah, this was very interesting and if I'm not mistaken can also be applied to Muslims who start practicing..!! The sudden Hijab over night, the sudden cover everrrrrrrything and critisize every sister that you think is not wearing the hijab, the "give me everything with the right hand" and eat and drink while sitting down...!! Don't say hi but say Salaamu Aleeykum and, and, and and...!! Worse of all, PRAYER IS NOT REGULAR YET...!! Don't get me wrong, I am not saying all those things are wrong, instead they are things that needs to be happening but with understand...!! Slowly but surely, with knowledge comes stronger Iman...!! I've noticed this myself....may Allah help us focus on the roots rather than the branches of Islam...!! Fii Amaani'Laah
