^^ Dumar saan mooday ma aha? I don't think this is about men or women (even though, I believe women to be mad). This is about PEOPLE, saaxib. Millions of people live in the dark and don't know what goes around them (or behind their backs).

^^ Magaciisa ma kuu sheega? He's one of those confusing (for me at least) Xamaris. Cadcad or Carab, I could never tell the difference.

^^ I get your understanding and I am not suggesting for a minute that this is what Khaatumo plans to do (not yet anyway). However, I believe that he's putting himself in a tight corner by making such threats. As for the "let us be all little fiefdoms, clan nations", I am afraid that is not possible if Somalia and Somaliland are allowed to carve up an agreement that suits both Siilaanyo and Hassan Sheikh.

^^ War "misyaar" buu ka wada dhigay. The first and second live in the same country but are from north and south Somalia and the other two live in different countries and are from different clans/communities to the first two.

A_Khadar;938325 wrote: NG, you know better. Ali didn't threat to join SL. However this ain't about Khalif or Xaglo or about anyone you know their names. Xaglo joined SL long ago. That didn't stop but made Khatumo stronger. Same goes with individuals. This is about the people and people are not entertained with SL's clan songs.. FYI, Xaglo is in Nairobi and rumors are saying he scaped........ Listen to the video that Xaaji X posted in the other thread, saaxib. He did say that Khaatumo is the only thing standing between Somalia remaining united or breaking up. He did make a clear threat about joining Somaliland and that if such a thing happens, nobody and nothing could stop the dismemberment of Somalia. In addition, he was not talking from a personal point of view but on behalf of Khaatumo. Now I know this was nothing but a threat to try to twist the arm of Hassan Sheikh but what happens if the FG tells him to go to hell? Where would that leave him?

I knew a guy who married four women. The second wife knew about the first, the third wife knew about the second and first and the fourth wife knew about all the others. Only the first wife didn't know. He's a businessman who travels around but the irony of all ironies is that he spends most of his time at home with his first wife (and the only one to bear him children) and divides the rest of his time between the other three. Other than feeling sorry for the first wife, I still have no idea who to point the finger at amongst the other three. As for the man, I did give him one of my special long lectures (even though we're not really friends) and he took it with good grace (not that he acted on it or anything). Other than the above...err..stuff and nonsense really.

Social and political change will only come if women demand them. It's men doing the raping, saaxib. Surely it's other men that should be making the most noise about such injustice.

This has the infamous Osman's fingers all over it. Khadar, Khaliif was making a similar threat in a post that Xaaji X posted. He was even more clear in threatening to join SL! What do you think of that?

^^ I'm glad you changed your mind warya. Almost forced me to employ drastic measures.

Amidst all the coverage of contemporary migration to Britain, it is easy to forget the older generations of immigrants from across the world who have settled here and made Britain their home. Journeys Down my Street is a new series in which Mike Berlin, an urban historian from Birkbeck College, University of London, visits individual streets at the heart of such communities, to hear the stories of earlier immigrants - their arrival, their early lives and their observations on Britain today. 2. Home Away From Home, The Somalis of Bute Street, Cardiff At the end of the 19th century many working on the steam ships of the British Empire was an attractive career choice for seamen from Somaliland. Many came to Cardiff, found work in the docks heaving the coal that powered those ships, and the first settled in Butetown in 1890. A vibrant community grew, centred on the docks and the mosque. But the last coal was shipped out in the 1960s, Cardiff docks are not what they were and Butetown has been redeveloped - and work is scarce. The older generation of Somalis has, in recent years, been joined by new immigrants, refugees from their war-torn homeland. Their experiences and expectations are very different, as 'De Gabay' recently made clear. This was a day-long production with National Theatre Wales, in which young poets from the Somali community performed all around Butetown. Mike Berlin meets Somalis whose families have lived in Butetown for a century, and more recent arrivals tell their stories, too. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01rvnws
