^^ There are no single girls in this thread anymore, guru. They all moved on or got married. Now it's just a shelter for old people. Welcome aboard.
-
Ace, It's the same old reaction even as the concessions keep mounting. I don't understand the logic anymore.
-
^^ No need to state the obvious dee.

Is that what Somali girls do when they "go wild"? The end is nigh!

Morning all.

^^ That's Crystal ball talk again (about Siilaanyo). As for what the IC expects. Err, did you read the latest communique from the talks? Waxa la yedhi, the IC are there to facilitate not mediate. This is politics, saaxib. I already told you (months before) that I don't expect these talks to bear any fruit when the issue of breaking away is discussed. The two sides are not going to agree on that point. You know it, I know it and every Somali that follows Somali politics knows it. By engaging in the talks, Somaliland are getting free coverage (and now lots of other freebies). But, like I asked you above (whilest you follow my words here), what does Somalia get?

Err..Xiin, when he said the icteraaf will not be given as a gift to SL and that it should build itself to force such an icteraaf, he was not wrong. His ambtion for a Somaliland that is organised, democratic and with functioning institutions DID come true. He also admitted (at the time) that there were elements that were opposed to Somaliland and that such issues were being worked on (Laas Caanood, anyone?). -

Is daji and give your opinion on this, saaxib. Somaliland's predicament has always been Khaatumo, not the rest of Somalia (I'm sure I've said that so many times in the past). But what has changed for SL is what's causing Khaatumo's "cross roads" today. What happens next? Which road will Khaatumo choose? In fact, forget that and tell me which road YOU would like Khaatumo to choose? Would your advice be that you should improve communication with Hassan Sheikh's government and therefore bring Khaatumo to the centre of the Federal Government's policy? Or will you advice that a bargain should be struck with the Imam in which both sides will benefit (like in the old Abdullahi Yusuf days)? (I know that, today at least, you would not advice a deal with Somaliland).

xiinfaniin;938740 wrote: :D @NGONGE Such wishes of continuous talks till the day is ripe for recognition is the stuff only a Hargeysaawi can believe . You know and I know, good NGONGE, these talks are not without assessable purpose, deliverables, and milestones. They even have dates, for Gods sake, to ensure certain commitment from Somaliland and the president. I am not sure what you are referring to when you mention Puntland. For Puntland understands, and is not in the dark with respect to these talks. Khatumo is another matter. They are serving their purpose and I understand where they coming. What Milestones, saaxib? As for continuous talks, has this not been the case? Maxa Somalia o so khorday as a result of these talks? What were the "deliverables" for Somalia? Naga daa dee.

^^ You safely made it to the other side and are not smelly any more.

^^ In 90 days, they'll just kick the can further down the road, saaxib. But, like in this meeting and the two before it, SL will extract another concession from Somalia without having to give anything in return save agree to talk and not use upsetting language (and even these two are more to SL's benefit than Somalia's). The Khaatumo and PL press are asking the right questions here, Xiin. How long will you keep biting your fist?

An interesting video. Many of the ideas he hoped for SL's progress have come true today. -
Guru, the argument of "elites" is what Somalis use on anything and any topics, saaxib. One minute it's the SL elites, the next it's the HAG elites and now it's the Khaatumo "elites". I don't personally think this is the case, I believe that in every case it is the people that choose the way they want to go and not the elites. At this moment in time, large numbers of those in Khaatumo do not want to be part of SL. Will circumstances and displeasure with Somalia change their minds?

That's the best part about Dubai. I love Friday afternoons in Deira. Ala maxaan hindi bila sabab iska dhix fadheestay.

The predicament has got even more complicated. They are still not talking to the Imam, have not made peace with SL and now, disastar of all disasters, they seem to have fallen out with the Somali government itself! Where will this leave Khaatumo? Should they make peace with the Imam and, as a result, realise their dream of Somali unity? Should they swallow their pride and throw their lot in with Somaliland? The Jubbaland debacle has shown that this Somali government will not accept arbitray Federal States that don't fulfill the conditions set in the Somali constitution. Therefore, Khaatumo could not hope to carry on being Khaatumo without choosing to join one of the entities that border it. Where will it go? Who will it choose?

^^ Wait for the exams badow yaho. Hadii kale, you'll have to pay twice. Heh.

Juxa, there were not all mine dee. I only have two more years of that and they'll hopefully be in the "big" school and go on their own. 12 weeks holiday? That's not a holiday, that's a resignation. You're not going with my favourite tall lady, are you?

A right carry on. Heh.

Morning Norf, still trying to avoid a Jeddah accident? By the way, you should have prepared yourself for all that madness by watching Youtube videos of Saudi's driving. Morning Juxa..I had to drop five kids at two different schools this morning. Every part of my body aches. I too almost went back home after it finished. Heh.
