  1. Chimera makes it sound as if there are no Kenyan soldiers controlling that part of Somalia. Once Hassan Sheikh manages to get them out all that you speak about will start to make sense. For now, they sadly hold the land and what they want is what's taking place.
  2. ^^ Sounds like MJ's "Man In The Mirror" song. That's Why I Want You To Know I'm Starting With The Man In The Mirror I'm Asking Him To Change His Ways And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place (If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place) Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change (Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change)
  3. ^^ He did. But, for a few seconds there, he did rise to the heckle and went on about it being lies, lies, lies. (I wished if he just said "maxamado soco" instead).
  4. ^^ You're a workaholic dee. I, on the other hand, I'm lazy enough to worry about the journey home getting in the way of me having a half day off. ( I decided to go at half past twelve now).
  5. ^^ He did his best. I wouldn't go as far as saying he dealt with it well though. It is very difficult to answer or speak to someone shouting at you in such a setting.
  6. ^^ You wouldn't believe me if I told you that I can't be bothered with the journey home. Heh.
  7. ^^ The president hardly dealt with any questions. But I like the system he has with his ministers ("Sacado soco", "maxamado soco", etc, etc). :D
  8. ^^ I'm thinking of taking the day off again. I've got to decide in the next hour. I'm tempted, really tempted.

^^ That's because you're sick of that sort of language by now. (I find it funny).
  10. Him: I like your project Her: I like yours Him: Why not merge the two? Her: You’ll have to ask the stakeholders Him: Will they object to the new framework? Her: They might say that they need time to build up my capacity! Him: What sort of timeframe do you think they’ll have in mind? Her: They’ll probably argue that older projects need to be resolved before moving on to this one. Him: What’s holding up the older project? Her: A lack of suitable candidates Him: I could look amongst my contacts and friends. But will the project appeal to them? Her: I believe so. Him: What do you propose WE do in the meantime? Her: I think we should carry on having informal meetings to formulate and reconcile our strategies without involving the stakeholders at this stage. Him: Will our meetings be behind closed doors? Her: Mine has never been that kind of project. (Ma wadaa?)
  11. NY, it's too late to change it now saaxib. I thought about it once but worried that Allah-ubahane* may come back to us one day and not find me. * Allah-ubahane was a member that used to think I'm an alcoholic. He was a very good guy though.
  12. I finally got round to watching this video clip. Got to give it to the Khaatumo guys, they well and truly ambushed Siilaanyo in there. p.s. Is Xiin bringing the H argument back? Why is he trying to convince the guru of this when he can't even sell it to Khaatumo? Naga daaya..
  13. Xiin, I prefer to talk about the PL election to be honest. However, the real topic here is about the changing nature of Somali politics. The "tent" (as is evident by your and Baashi's recent replies on SOL) is being openly erected bang in the middle of Somali politics these days. It's being unapologetic and confrontational about it (from looted houses to Jubba and all the way to the SL/Somalia talks). But why the sudden change? Why does everyone suddenly sound like the Imam? For me, all roads seem to be pointing back to Hassan Sheikh. This is the topic that towers above all the Kenyan soldiers, looted houses, secessionist celebrations and all the titillating bits we keep seeing on this site every day. It is also a (potentially) good topic.
  14. ^^^ This is the part that spoils his initial history lesson: The President is not in sync with his previous dismissive attitude towards those Somalis who feel wronged in the 1991 civil war in favor of criminals. In one of his speeches, the President triumphantly said: “One’s ******” (criminal/looter and killer) “is another’s liberator,” implying that those who committed crimes against humanity in the 1991 Mogadishu civil war are not criminals but liberator of Mogadishu. The unfiltered visit of President Hassan to Tana Lake is an indication of three things: (1) He finally comes around to bow down to the lords of the Horn of Africa , (2) His handlers are mostly uninitiated in diplomacy and served him poorly, and (3) the President seems not to have a vision but makes his policy decisions by the fly. Unfortunately, that is not the path to reconstructing Somalia’s failed state. Wax fahan.
  15. Guys, guys, there is a very good topic to be had here you know.
  16. A man can always change his mind. But could he change his principles? Cafis or no cafis, if he does it (which I doubt) his hiil-qaran supporters should attack him with every shoe they've got.
  17. nuune is a xaasid. War I had him in a headlock and you came and allowed him to change the subject.
  18. ^^ What good luck? Did you not hear what happend to raula? Woof Woof baa cunay nooh. She quit the health field two years after this thread and is now working at a dinner lady in Mexico City. It's strange where life takes you, soo maaha?
  19. ^^ It is indeed. But the other teams in that league have proven themsevles in Europe time and again. Remember Bilbao giving Man U a lesson in football last season. See A. Madrid winning the Europa league and then beating Chelsea in the Super Cup by FOUR goals? Need I remind you of Valancia's category or Malaga's game against Dortmund? I never liked Barca's style of play. It kills of the joy of football and unless you're a Barca fan, there is no way you can enjoy a game they're involved in (once is fine but after that it gets boring). However, I disagree that teams found them out. The system works (as proven time and again). A simple blip does not mean they've been found out (that's tabloid talk, saaxib). We need a longer period of judgment before we can say that.
  20. What a load of nonesense (though the history lesson is good).

If they have been found out, they would not have won their league saaxib. Barca are just tired. If you take into accont that their Spanish players have been at the top of their game since 2008 and then add the rest of the team winning everything available to them since that time too, it's understandable that they could not sustain the same level of performance all the time. Add to that the fact that they've been playing without a manager for large chunks of the season and you see why they have not performed to their usual level. They still had more posession than Bayern but just didn't know what to do with it and were very slow in passing the ball around (even though they KEPT IT). Don't write them off just yet, saaxib. p.s. Marxaba Jb.
  22. Morning all. No need to say it. p.s. It looks to me like some people have broken their keyboards. None of the above stuff makes sense. ;p
