  9. Today, major combat is over give peace a chance. I really don’t care who gets credit for it, as long as we move from this point.

  12. We are all on this forum to express our opinions and exchange ideas. It is an equal opportunity forum, so please refrain from questioning one’s Soomaalinimo, Islaanimo and yes gender. Walaahi , it doesn’t serve the purpose of this forum. Only treating all colleagues with respect and presenting your statements is all that is required. Without name calling, be precise and to the point and leave the rest for your fellow Somalis.
  13. Why is it difficult for us to accept defeat? For many years that I have been following Somalia, every group who was beaten declared these words “ We have made a tactical retreat.” You would think, it would be noble for a person to say, “I have been defeated!” You need to accept defeat, in order to appreciate winning. Abdullahi is what he is; nothing you say will ever change him. Its time for us to realize that putting our house in order has come, and it rests on our shoulders to carry into a different level over this obstacle that has obstructed our way for more than 16 years. Firing mortars into airport will not help our collective future.
  14. Like I said these guys have a big grudge and are full of CUQDAD. Same goes for their leaders maybe that is where they got in from. lol ----------------------------------------------------- Faysal "I THINK A BOY IN ADDIS IS CLOSER TO ME THEN ONE IN XAMAR" ---------------------------------------------------- ^^^ That is an embarassement to all of Us. Never knew such people exited within our country. Full of Hate are they all?
  15. Great news indeed. This Government is gainting power bit by bit.
  16. Mujaahid: Red Sea Dude you are an uncivilized ******** from the Somaliland a non-exiting Country so if I as any of you guys I would not insult. Iska amuusa cause your CUQDAD is showing. lol Walahi our brothers and sister from the North have a bigger grudge against the rest of Somalia than the so called Somali enemy Ethiopia. As for the President of Somalia, Yusuf is man full of confidance who belives in himself. He never profited from war, never put a roadblock in lace, never colonised regions or taken over ports and airports for his sub-clan use. He is a man who hates anarchy, and has made Puntland one of the safest in the region let alone Somalia.. He has never been a warlord, never fought in the wars of the south, unlike warlords like Xasan Dahir, Indacade, Qqaynyare, Sudi. he fought for his cuntry before becoming disullusioned. His history is well documented. He never took part in the civil war of Somalia nor did he occupy other people's land. His fight/war was only in defensive nature!
  17. They will pull out inshallah they have done their job and have done it well. ICU was taken care of within days. Who is next we ask?

He is a War hero, a Nationalist and A Somali Icon. There is not way Somaliland will become it's own country under his watch. Because he is a hard believer in Somaliweyn and Somalinimo. Somalilanders need a reality check and I am here to give them just that. I am deeply sorry if I hurt any of you guys feels but for god sakes men up. loooooool
  19. Uganda's Ruling Party Approves Peacekeepers for Somalia By Cathy Majtenyi Nairobi 19 January 2007 An official with Uganda's ruling party Friday said the party has approved a plan to send a contingent of Uganda peacekeeping troops into Somalia, saying that he is confident Ugandan parliament will approve the plan. The African Union is also meeting to discuss the issue of the Somali peacekeeping force. Cathy Majtenyi reports for VOA from Nairobi. The director of information for the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Ofwono Opondo tells VOA President Yoweri Museveni's proposal to send 1,500 Ugandan soldiers into Somalia on a peacekeeping mission has been given the thumbs-up by his party. Opondo says it is a sure bet that Uganda's parliament will also give its approval, expected by the end of the month. "I think they will pass it because the NRM caucus is more than two-thirds of the members of parliament, and the resolution for parliamentary approval is simply a simple majority," he said. "So I can say, the approval for deployment is as good as done." Opondo says the 237-member NRM caucus Thursday listened to presentations by Uganda's defense and security ministers on the need to get involved in stabilizing the volatile Horn of Africa country. The lawmakers then passed a resolution allowing the defense minister to present the matter to parliament by the end of the month. Yet to be decided, he says, are how long the Ugandan soldiers will stay in Somalia, under whose mandate and direction they will fall, and who will pay for the mission. The party spokesman explains why the members of parliament are in favor of such a peacekeeping force. "We have been directly affected by the collapse of the state in Somalia, in southern Sudan, and Congo. People [are] using those stateless areas to gather arms and to train and infiltrate back into Uganda and terrorize Uganda generally," said Opondo. "So we think our involvement is contributing to our own security directly." The National Resistance's decision comes as the African Union's Peace and Security Council was set to meet Friday to discuss the proposed 8,000 strong African peacekeeping force for Somalia. The capital, Mogadishu, is particularly volatile following the recent ouster of the Islamic Courts Union. The transitional government is now attempting to disarm various warlords and militia. Ethiopian troops stationed in Mogadishu and other areas have been backing the transitional government. But those troops are supposed to be leaving soon. U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Michael Ranneberger this week expressed concern that, without a stabilization force, there may be a security vacuum in the Horn of Africa nation. A number of African countries have been approached, including Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Angola, and South Africa, but only Uganda has so far offered to contribute to the force. Since civil war broke out in 1991, militias loyal to clan and sub-clan-based factions have controlled different parts of the country, with no central authority to provide law and order and even basic services to the population. A transitional Somali parliament was formed in Kenya more than two years ago following a peace process.

  21. The Ugandan ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) overnight approved a plan drawn up by Kampala’s Defence ministry for the deployment of troops in Somalia, as part of an African peace mission. As reported by the Ugandan New Vision newspaper, the 237 NRM members of parliament, though approving the plan, expressed some reservations in regard to the mission. The deployment still has to be approved by parliament, which plans to meet in the next two weeks to discuss it, but due to the large majority of seats held by the ruling party in parliament the definitive approval should be a mere formality. The Peace and Security Council of the African Union is due to hold a special session today in Addis Ababa to discuss the deployment of a peace force in Somalia, which would replace the Ethiopian troops in support of the Somali interim government. The nations so far willing to contribute soldiers to the contingent, aside from Uganda, include Nigeria, South Africa, Mozambique and maybe Rwanda.
  22. When did Somalilanders start really caring about the rest of Somalia? Was it the day President Abduallhi Yusuf got elected for office? Or was it the day the war-lords got kicked out of Mogdishu and much of South Somalia by the ICU. OR is it the day President Abduallhi Yusuf arrived in Mogdishu? lol Mujaahid: Red Sea. legitimacy of the TFG is out there in the open. It's in control of Mogdishu and the rest of Somalia. Northwest Somalia is next believe it or not cause "Somaliland" doesn't exits to the rest of Somalia. Somalia wa Somalia learn to live with it. and my President and your President is President Abduallhi Yusuf believe it or not. wake up and smell the Coffee my Northwest brother and sisters. One Clan can't have its own Country that is reality!!!
  23. Will the rest of the War-lords follow? When will War-lord Barre and his Gang surrender their arms to the Somali Government that he and other are part off? Warlords finally surrender their arms to the Somali TFG Aweys Osman Yusuf Mogadishu 17, Jan.07 ( Sh.M.Network) – Somalia’s warlords, Mohammed Qanyare Afrah, Musse Sudi Yallahow and Hussein Mohammed Farah Aided, have surrendered their arms to the transitional federal government in an occasion ceremony held in the capital Mogadishu. The surrender of weapons took place at Mohammed Qanyare’s Dayniile base in the capital where Qanyare officially handed about 30 armed vehicles over to the interim government military officials present in the area. About 600 tribal militias were also placed under the control of the government for training and rehabilitation. Musse Sudi Yallahow, who is also a warlord and MP, surrendered his battlewagons and militias to the federal government. Hussein Aided is reported to have given up two armored vehicles as the government commander-in-chief Gen. Ismail Kasim Naji received the arms. The news comes minutes after the Somali parliament voted in majority to get rid of the House Speaker Sharif Hassan Sheik Aden, who is currently lingering in Rome, Italy. Osman Elmi Boqore, the second speaker who chaired the parliament session in Baidoa on Tuesday, announced that 183 MPs voted to oust the assembly speaker Aden, while nine voted against the motion. The Speaker who was contacted by Shabelle said he the motion against him was invalid “The country is illegally occupied by Ethiopia and the MPs were probably forced to vote against me”, he said.
  24. I would like to say farwell to Abu Paragon, Take care dude sorry things didn't go your way but I never thought you of all people would be crying about it. Politics is Politics. Somaliweyn is winning today. Mogdishu is under control by a Government and it's President is in Villa Somalia. Walahi sometimes some of the People that come on to SOL seem to be out of their mind, who on earth would wish or hope for an insurgency and chaos in a Country like Somalia? Even The Educated Somalians are really messed up just like their beloved Country.
