Marriage has become the most talked about area of discussion. I am surrounded by marriage obsessed women, hormones raging. Others feel the need to marry in order to prove to loved ones or the community they are secure. Girls around me inform me marriage for them is a form of security. It's depressing to hear marriage when it comes down to means of escape. Marry and respect yourselves. Marry and lower your gazes. Marry and increase your iman. Marry and be patient with your wife/husband. Marry if you cannot control yourself. Marry and be happy.

Abayas come in Chanel to Calvin Kelvin, pink to green. There is nothing more beautilful then the plain black abayas. No need be decorative to attract.

Seeing as everyone is busy with examination, we should organise a proper function, a celebration for the end of stressful month of exams. Jamilah, very courageous for detailing your personal contact number for strange individuals lurking around somaliaonline. I was planning for a third party to represent me on the day.

MC, Enter Somalia and consider your dead body flown back to Canada. Or dragged blooded through the villages of Xamar. A replay of 1993

Personal attacks never seem to end. Keep them coming, it entertains me during my long breaks in university. Am I dumb? No. My smartness has to make up for black students who have dropped out in many of my classes. Lectures always look my way, expecting for me to disappear within weeks, taking the footsteps of the many black students who have left the course due to lack of determination. The black individuals who have resources available for proper education fail to take advantage of the system, depending on the welfare to provide for their basic needs. Few black politicians and business owners exist. Black people may have been Kings and Queens but not today. History has changed. The past is not relevant to the status of black people today. They are able to detail their suffering but fall short to improve their future. Talk is cheap, action speaks louder. Instead of remaining in denial we as individuals should encourage one another to progress. Black people have mastered the dancing.

Are black people intellectually lower than the white race? Though I am unable to conduct a proper research to inspect the intellect level of black individuals, can an over all review of their mind power be greater when compared to the white race. I personally feel white people are smarter, brighter and have willingness to succeed in life. It cannot be said every black people alive today are dim. However the majority are failing to reach the level of accomplishments. Why? I am trying to minimise stereotypes. Black people are very much talented when it comes to sports and music. But academic wise? They are rating poorly. Majority are involved in criminal activities. Coming from a lower income family is no excuse for adapting to the surrounding environment. Is the black dumbness gene hereditary?

Originally posted by The Rendezvous: Some of us think "Love" in so many funny ways.. I have seen people in "Love"..and surely Love exists.Only those who cherish it get fulfilled with it.. It is all about beauty, presentation, respect, honesty, trust and freindliness to your patner and all this comes in quantity if you really know Islam. Islam is also about love, freindliness and being happy. You will hear in the Holy Quraan "Love thy neighbour"..be freind to him..so on and so forth.. Love exists.. ' Thanks for your input Rendezvous. A friend of mine once told me people in love do dim things. He also mentioned how they make are blinded and make irrational decisions. He pin pointed how smart girls become emotionally handicapped. Their eyes become filled with stars. Making them behaviour in ways they normally wouldn't.

Socialist parties are pro everything. It explains why they tend to leave religion out of their discussions. My former teacher was a communist. She denied the exist of god. Detested when god's name was used. Became very passionate about freeing the Palestine’s til I found out she supported homosexuality, my long discussions with her ended from there. Perhaps we need to take into counter what Cara said: women don't enter politics.

Niiko is a form of art; shake it to the left- right followed by a circularly round shape. I am not encouraging it to be displayed in public venues; it should be a private dance for the husband. A wedding present

Originally posted by ibtisam: These women need to get a life. If they are so unhappy they need to change the conditions that make them unhappy, instead of complaining and gossiping about it. DO something to solve and better there situation. The reason their man is acting like a JackAss is because they gave them that lead way to do as he pleases without having to account for his actions to her. It has nothing to do with Love, love does not make you Shitpuid. People will treat you according to how you view and represent yourself. All current Somali women do is have numerous children, get overweight and out of shape and then complain that there husband left them, kick them out for a week, then get back with them, then get pregnant, kick them out again, take them back “for the sake for the children" eeerg, make up your mind!! Having complications understanding certain information? These women only inform me and seek for my help/advice on ways to make their family lives better. I don't believe it to be a form of tittle-tattle. They don't speak badly of their husbands or children. They are uneducated women seeking out for someone who has education on the proper structure of family. I have the ability to understand their younger children and suggest how to befriend their children. This will prevent breakdowns within families and violence within households. This reminds me of a good quote from Michael Novak, he says: What needs emphasis today is the political significance of the family. A people whose marriages and families are weak can have no solid institutions. These women are avoiding a dysfunctional home, which many are familiar too.

Originally posted by Animal Farm: Love is something that must be created through time and experience. Immediate love is purely physical, emotional love takes time and connecting more intimately. Love is an experience, love is an experienced tragedy, love is a controlled experiment, someone always holds most of the cards, and the other is a lab rat, love is violence, love is a lot of things, one thing I know is that it does exist – it is an happy accident that can handicap you. Interesting information in regards to love. We do come from a loveless culture where love is a scandalous topic of dicussion. I have yet to acknowledge the exist of love.

I have witnessed many Somali fathers lacking emotional feelings towards their children. I have also heard the treatment of children in Somalia by their fathers. So no need to act like your father gave you "love". We women are not hating. I socalise with Somali mothers, all complaining about their husbands. They always give me advice in regards to Somali men, it's wonderful. Baayo the women u mention that complain about their husbands to you are going against Islam first: since in our deen a wife should not tell her husbands secrets and protect their privacy…and not share it with other women over tea. Second if problems exist…then there is something called shura…consultation that should happen between them…if they have problems then they should talk to their husbands...that is the way of Al-Islam. Third…I don’t know what advice they give u….but wont be accurate or fair….we are all different….not every Somali man is like the husband of the women who gives u advice. Last…sister u nothing of my father….or what goes on in my family…so don’t judge…it is unIslamic. My father gave us not only love and support…he provided for his family. Before you shred any tears, Khalaf. Let's end this discuss after I say a few words. Those women are not shaming their husbands but are concerned of their families well begin and cannot address their concerns due to whatever reasons. They are not mentioning their husband’s deep dark secrets. I judged your father because you said my father was a terrible man. Giving me advice warns me of their most unfortunate experiences. The topic was discussion is love and it's existence
