  1. ^LoL. LoL@ Blessed, sweetie, everyone needs their dishes washed, laundry done, and beds made - a maid is tending to everyone in the family's needs, not just the wife's (who prescribed those chores solely for the wife?). Originally posted by Malika: There is alot to learn from our elders,I dont know if you remember whom used to serve your father even if there were hundred other people in the house. I concur. A wise lady once told me, aaminaada nimanku waa baasto-miir biyo lagu shubey o kale. While I realize this is a generalizing statement and maybe a bit extreme, saqajaanimadu waa innate to these creatures. Sheekhoodu iyo sheydaankooduba could easily succumb to their lower, carnal selves (it's a human nature so to speak); hence why Allah caza wajal commands the lowering of the gaze and the constraining of the nafs to all men equally, and not just to the weaker ones. The point is, one must protect themselves and loved ones from an environment that is conducive to sinning be it outside, inside, or anywhere. As such, bringing in a female helper (I hate to say this, but a pretty somali one waliba), esp if you're a professional who will probably not be around, is just not the most clever choice. Not that you lack self-confidence, or you don't trust your beloved husband, but it's a decision that just lacks practical foresight. A better alternative may be hiring a male assistant, of course during the times your husband is at home Seriously, many of my relatives in the khaleeg have done this. P.S. A&T, mabruuk hadeey xaskii dhashey

I'll bring NGONGE and A&T as witnesses and marry you two off there and then (I am qualified, adeer. I can recite Quran up to Qad Samica ). With the 'Aaliyah' hat: Masha Allah. The sister is so clever. Soften her up with dahab, walaal. I'll pray for you both. Caadi matihid.
  5. ^Ameen, Ameen. Malika sis, I am very sorry to hear about ayeeyo, Allah ha u fududeeyo. The punishment of the grave is indeed to be feared, may Allah protect us from it. The prophet saw said, "This ummah will be tried in its graves. If it were not for the fear that you might not bury your dead, I would pray to Allah to make you hear what I hear." (Muslim) My dear Blessed, yes, I recall the venomous whispers - let us curse the Iblees.
  6. Lol, sidaan moves-keeda ugu focus gareynayey, heestii wey i dhaaftey Is this Diini dude the same one who made this song? That was a lovely song, codkiisuna wuu fiicanyahay.
  7. ^Salam. Are you talking about me or someone else? I appreciate your kind words walalo, lakeen if only you knew how vast my shortcomings are, waad ii soo ducayn lahayd. Allah ha na soo wada hadeeyo, Insha Allah.

^no stick, really. And no, I didn't read your list Shy, didn't mean to sound harsh at all. It was just a simple reminder for the brother.
  10. Masha Allah, that's amazing. May Allah reward those who've contributed. We have a fundraiser dinner tonight - it's times likes these I hate being a poor student. I wish I could give so much more
  11. ^Indhee. That's like being suprised at a Somali who's talking about canjeera/baasto.

    I-am-bored

When was the last time you've opened up the musxaf and recited the words of your Creator? Why don't you make use of your time and earn yourself some barakah in the process? A believer should never have time to feel bored!
  13. You mean you weren't in the front lines shouting down with Zionism? Maxaad ka mudaharaadey hadaba I bet Ibti was in all the way. Masha Allah @ the great turnout. I am about to attend my second one in about an hour, anticipating frostbites. Reero protest miihi but it's somewhat uplifting. Insha Allah, kheyr.
  14. ^Show waxaad istidhi Xiin da'dii baa ka daba timi, lol. Duceysane, ma waxaad u fakfakaneysaa reeraha inaad fun ka sameyso, bal soo daa waxaad heyso aan aragnee. Originally posted by Abtigiis &Tolka: Haneefah Tell the sister inaan dooro laga cunin dhulkeena. I am almost offended. KK, we are the people of geel and plenty of adhi. Malaay dabato ma nihin. Anyway, thanks for the effort. Heh. Waxaan xasuustay bari waxii hooyo ka raacey reeraha. Paragon, lol. Salaanta waa lagaa qaadey
  15. I don't know about good men (plenty are still around), but I do know of one incredibly amazing man who's taken. He is like no other man I've ever seen, and I truly believe his wife must've been loved by Allah to have been blessed with his companionship. May Allah be pleased with them and their progeny and honour them in this dunya and the hereafter. Ameen.
  16. ^or third: the ugliness carries significance.
  17. Wa alaikum assalam, sis. Insha Allah, the niya factors in. Allah is also just with His rewards/punishments as He says, "Is there any reward for good other than good?" Thank you for the reminder though, will try to keep that in mind Insha Allah.
  18. Depending on your field of interest there are many prestigious universities that give you the option of completing your entire degree through distance education. And yes, you will receive the same degree as those who did their studies on campus. Most schools usually have a distance education office or website - that's a good starting point with you search. Good luck.
  19. Subahanalah. It's so true; this is one of my regular duas but rarely do I reflect on its completeness. There are instances where I feel shy and greedy with my duas regarding the dunya, esp during sajda, though I remind myself that Allah loves those who make dua and that He encourages us to ask. Jazakallah, sweetie. It's a beneficial piece.
  20. TP, who are we to criticize others? The brother disagreed, and that's fine.
  21. DP FB, lol, iskadhicis ma ahee wiilku just misunderstood me.
  22. ^His point is not lost on me, I just have a different one. Thanks for trying to clarify it for me though.
