what if we tell each other what we study?
Haneefah replied to nuune's topic in Developement | Projects
Salam God, it makes me so proud to see bro's and sis's working so hard, masha'Allah! And for me, i'm a senior biol student hoping to go into med school insha'Allah like many others. If it doesn't work out, i'm interested in doing my masters in cancer immunology at U of T...they have one of the best cancer researches in the world! P.S. I see that tech & social sciences are very popular but why is it that the majority of our ppl don't like Science?...i mean it's really not as unappealing as it sounds! -

Subxanallah...I hope that Allah forgives her for such an enormous sin. I 've seen Indians take their lives for not getting to marry the love of their lives and i've seen wall street stock brokers take their lives for bankruptcy but somalis? and for school workload out of All? (Not that anything justifies for an act like this) I just hope that the rest of us can learn from this incident and truly appreciate the imaan that Allah(swt) has bestowed on us! -

Assalamu Alaikum, First of all, let me say that i just joined this website and surprisingly i find it very useful and itellectually stimulating. I'm glad to be part of a place where my fellow countrymen can interact positively! Nyhow, i'm a senior student in biology from Canada and i'm persuing medical school. I think many of you who live in Canada and who are in the science fuculty know how ridiculously hopeless it has become to get admitted nowadays because of the high demand for med schools and the so little supply. So i wanted to ask a little favour from my friends in the south who are either currently in med schools or perhaps graduated from it. How is the process of getting in down there...what are they looking for in particular or how do they veiw foreign students. I know that the financial side is rather unappealing, but it looks like it's the only option i have left. Any help will be highly appreciated...take care guyz!

Assalamu Alaikum, Mujahid...you made an exellent point bro although it was a little long, more like an essay, lol...j/k bro! But anyhow, i think the most important thing we can learn is our beloved religion and then comes secular education. However, the challenge lies in learning how to balance the two.I believe any form of education confers knowledge and knowledge is the most valuable asset one can attain. We all possess the potential to be someone and education is the means in reaching that potential. I do respect those of you who choose to work because of circumstances that prevent you from seeking a higher eduacation, but what i DO NOT respect is those of you who are doing nothing but making absurd justification for your incompetent lives and who still have the guts to advice others that education is nothing!! I think the intention of the girl who posted this topic was to get intelligent brothers and sisters to share their views and experiences about post-secondary ed. and to be role models for those who are younger than us or who haven't reached our place. So pls ppl, keep your comments as constructive as you can and don't try and demean those of us who are (alhamdulilah) on the right path. -
