  1. And here I was ready to share my PMS stories thinking that you were PMSing Originally posted by runaway^virgin: For crying out loud women in my age(21) are cool with having someone in their life or knowing what they want in a partner! Not all sweetie! You're not alone. There's many of us with this "NO" syndrome if you will. And although many will be quick to judge you or assume that you're being brainwashed by these westerners and influenced by their 'career now, marriage later' mentalities...it's nothing but an innate feeling of lack of desire for 'someone' at this stage of your life. At least, it is for me. Not everyone has a clear-cut, logical reason for not wanting someone or delaying marriage, except knowing that they don't have the drive or the urge to be with someone. It also has to do with fate, when that person whom you're destined to be with comes along...your feelings will change, and your perspective about relationships and marriage will change accordingly (Ok, maybe that's just what I tell myself...but it makes sense ) I've always been quite amazed at girls who start dating (for the lack of proper word) at young age like 17/18. My instant reaction is...God, kibistiiba xuduntooda ma gaadhinee maxey niman ka ag qabanayaan, lol. But it's their prerogative I guess, ppl are are different!. About the friendship thing...it's always hard. I find that only few are quite sincere about their intentions of being 'just' friends. And for this reason, I usually keep my friendships with the opposite sex limited. Some might even use religion as a diguise and say that they want to get to know you for the sake Allah (swt), and knowing that relations that form for the sake of Allah are the best type of relationships, you'll give in...and all too often, arintu gadaal bey iska badali, lol. Ok...I think you get the drift...just don't be harsh on yourself
  2. I'm very happy for you Hibo. Sounds like a great opportunity to contribute to our people. I've been interested in volunteering for international NGOs for quite some time now, mainly those concerned with public health in developing countries. Looking forward for the details I'A.

My best friend is actually in her final year doing law. She wants to practice family law Insha'Allah, and plans to work within the Somali community. I honestly don't know where our people get this misconception of law being haraam from. We really need more people in this field as well as in the medical/health professions.

  6. I'm not a big fan of ruwaayado...In fact I never find the time to watch them. But I have to say, Cilmi iyo caado was my favourite! Originally posted by Shenomad13: Btw, any of you watched Cilmi iyo Caado? Remember the guy tuurta lahay & that song that he sang... Lugta dhibi dhibi, dhaqaaji garbaha, dhexda aan ku qabtoon isku kaa dhajiyee ... LOOOOL, that song was the first thing that came to my mind too when I read the thread. That tuurow was funny....remember suu gabadha u shukaansanayay...and he was like mareekankaa la tagaa, mashiinaa lagu galinaa...adoo kala jiidan aa soobaxeee Waxaan ku iri gabadh...where's Ilhaam? jinigii magac badalka miyaa iyadana soo gaadhay P.S. when the hell is Qabyo 2 coming out? Waaban daalnay saan usugaynay.
  7. Hon, our nation is not a gazillion years behind the rest of the world for no reason!...I call this pure jaahilia.
  8. Subaxanallah!! MMA, I do understand where you're coming from walalo, it can get quite frustrating sometimes. Laakin hadaan lakala ronaan roob ma da'o. Wakhtigan lagu jiro kheyrku wuxuu inoogu jiraa inaan uduceyno dadkayaga, oo niraano Ilaahayoow Somaalida gidigood xaqa tus, xuquuqul-insaankana fahansii!! May ALlah put an end to the suffering of our people everywhere.
  9. hahaha...that was funny! since when have you become so interested in somali politics horta? You know what though, some of the radical clanists who frequent this section could use a lil comic relief like this...so do your best to confuse them eh
  10. Allah ha unaxriisto and may Allah make it easy for the family.
  11. ^^^lol. I think a lot of somali brothers will feel very tiny after seeing these pics. It's one thing to stay fit and gain some muscle weight... but when it reaches this state...It's quite scary looking!
  12. ^^^There's different forms of help walalo. When it's a type of help that conflicts with one's own values, ie getting a ride from a total stranger....then one can easily do without that help!...u should know that much
  13. Hayeey Rudy...xuuux...they're eyeing you specifically, so watch out dude

  16. LOl@saliid macsaro...ha isoo marin Guys, aphrodisiacs don't exist in our culture simply because we don't come from a culture that's ultra obsessed with libido. I guess Somalis did just fine without it, lol. Seriously though, the whole concept of aphrodisiacs in the west is nothing but greek mythology. Different people have differents tastes, so watever turns them on can be very subjective! So pls, don't go killing yoursevles with oysters

  20. Masha'Allah!! I'm very happy for you walalo and commend you for sharing this great news with us. Not every haji gets this lucky, as to seeing trememdous change in their lifestyles as a result of the haj...this is a sign that Allah has accepted your prayers, and hence your heart has been purified of all bad deeds. Do try your best to stay on the right path, and may Allah(swt) guide us all to that path.

Intizaar...thanks dear. I guess this is what one gets for posting in the politics section...even if it's once in a blue moon  ...subhanallah...Wallah,it's very depressing to see that our people are still stuck at where they were 13 yrs ago.

  24. I honestly don't know why so many girls are making a fuss about cooking nowadays. It should be a fun thing to do...like you can make brimo, sugunto and teerso in 1 hr tops...remember you're the boss when you're in the kitchen...make whatever suits your mood at the moment and enjoy!
