    A Love Note!

Yaa shaikh Nur, ahlan wasahlan. You don't know how much your softwano series are being missed. Will definitely look forward to more heart rendering love notes, Insha'Allah. Barakallahu feek.

Allah u naxriisto. It's true, if one is going south, driving through the rocky mountains could be dangerous particularly during winter months. Originally posted by Cadaan: no one wants to talk about how much they would love to marry that Canadian Muslim convert!!.....You guys suck!! I'm sure many sisters would love to marry righteous Muslim reverts, so if you meet that one crucial criterion, you're good to go. Then you might just want to pay Toronto a little visit. How's Calgary during the winter btw? I wanted to briefly visit around mid December Insha'Allah. Any cool places I shall be aware of?

  7. ^I'm glad that someone aknowledges the difficulty of exercising caution in the middle of a multifaceted war where you think you're fighting one great enemy but you have these smaller enemies who are also targeting you from unexpected angles. How does one answer them effectively while at the same time trying not to get derailed from their greater objective? It's quite a dilemma really. The fact still remains though, despite how much caution with which they operate, some casualties are bound to result, be they from the region itself or outside. And as with any military operation, esp. with a limited capacity as that of the ONLF, few strategic miscalculations are inevitable. It's something we have to be able to accept and understand, keeping in mind the purpose of the struggle. Adeerkey uu gumeystuhu kas u dilay isagoon waxba galabsan ayaa iiga xanuun kulul isagooy xabad ku socotay gumeystaha dishay, saa xabad xornimo-doon ah ayaa dishey. Moreover, it's completely beyond me how some people have the audacity to scream 'objectivity' or question the intent of the organization as a whole while they obviously lack knowledge of the magnitude of the crises in the region. It doesn't take a genius to know that Ethiopia will employ every tactic possible, at any expense, to project the ONLF as a terrorist organization working to destabalize eastern ethiopia (ie. force the people on the ground to fabricate false claims against ONLF, write unsustantiated articles online, give other somalis incentives to go againt them, and the list goes on). Their goal is to simply tarnish the image of the organization at a moment in time when issues in the Ogadden are gaining international attention; and what better way to gain credibility than to have Somalis themselves do the deed? Macalasaf, some shortsighted Somalis will always fall for this propaganda. Originally posted by SheekhaJacaylka: These days it is easy to say HEBEL WAA JAAJUUS and shoot him on the head. After about 12 hrs of sleep, I called my mother in Saudi and just hearing her voice set my mood up for the day, then I did some shopping and last but not least, I made myself a really delicious looking and tasting dinner. So yea, thanks for asking hon.

  15. . Walee this thread is full of comedians; dadna bajaqis iyo waxaan loo joogin bay ka taagantahay dadna dhiigii baa cirka maraya...xilwa wallah. My advice: it's best to leave the deceased ones to their graves Insha'Allah, for your own good! And leave the judgments to the true Judge, subhanahu watacala.
  16. Brother Khaaalid, nafta ka waran? Reerihiina ka waran? Ninku xikmad buu daldalayaayee, hooyadey baan i ag joogin haadii aan the dots si fiican isugu connect gareyn lahaa (ok, he's just using way too many qaafs, and is quite speedy which make the words go a lil lost on me ). Loved his part about knowledge though, and the heartbreaking but true portrayal of some of the faithless Faarax's in the diaspora (Subxanallah, waan ka naxay the scenario...I hope no mother ever goes through that experience, isagoo dhintaa dhaanta). I'll probably have to listen to it again to try and understand the whole thing. Ninku inaba caadi ma aha, Masha'Allah.
  17. MMA, ciid wacan walalow inkastoo soo noqodkeedii dhawyahay . (I know, anaa soo daahay). Actually I'm in Saskatoon. A relatively small but very nice and quiet University city. I really love the peaceful environment and the very friendly people of the city who alsways tend to smile for people. Jikadii iyo ON oo idil iyo pollutionkooda waan isku nacay, mar hore...I thought it was time for some fresh air. Alxamdulilah, quite a few Somali families live here. I met this one wonderful lady in the Mosque on my first day and I said salam as I suspected she was Somali but she didn't recognize me as Somali, and then I said 'seed tihiin', with great surprise, she asked, ma somali baad ku hadashay? next thing I know she jumps and gives me a warm embrace and quickly takes me to another lady to introduce 'the new Somali girl in town'. LoL. And then sure enough, everyone else knew about me and was coming to greet me at gatherings. You just gotta love small towns! It's wonderful to see so much love for somalinimo. Maalintaa kadib, gurigooda ayeey igu cazumeen and they've been so kind and caring, always making food for me. One lady always says when I ask her why she troubles herself, "naa aamu, gabadh ardayad ah oo kaligeed ah ayaa tahaye, si fiican wax u cun" . Ilaahay kheyr ha siiyo waa dad dadka jecel, Masha'Allah. Hooyadeey ducadeeda ah 'Allah umada ha kuu cabiidiyo oo albaabkii walba ee kheyrku kuugu jiro ha kuu furo.' ayaa la ii aqbalay baan umalayn, shukran lilaah. Also the general Muslim community here, even though not that huge, is very strong and connected Masha'Allah. One would hardly feel lonely among them. There's always an event or a gathering of some sort, to maintain the Islamic bond and spirit. So yea, the western prairie life isn't so bad after all (well, I shall wait and see about winter first...war baa jiri doona ). Nuune: Walal saa uma sii fogeyn, mar mar waa la iska key arkaa, ee adiga yaaba ku arka. Insha'Allah, all is well with you.
  18. Oh I had an immensely challenging epidemiology exam today that literally made me question why I am in field. But then I calmed myself down and thought...these are not real cases, not real! Still, I despise this professor's ultra manipulative ways which I believe she in essence uses to hide her sloppiness and lack of mastery in the subject. Phew! I had to vent somewhere. I still have more qarabax stored in me, I think I should call someone. PS: My dear Zenobia, I think I know what inanka is thinking and how he could've been mislead. LoL. I just have this feeling that 'the one' is this sleek, trendy purse you happened to be searching for the past weeks to go with your fabulous looking cayaaba.
  19. ^Bisinka! Where did that come from, lol. I presume the brother began the discussion with noble intentions and to perhaps offer some naseeha, deedna maskiinka waad ka yara wareeriseen. Soften up folks. Try to understand and give each other the benfit of the doubt before making any conclusions about the others' perspectives. p.s: Trevor, walal, I'd like to think that you don't really believe that whole 90/10 percentage you gave earlier, or did you? Perhaps it's just a moment you were experiencing when you spewed those figures, quite possibly due to all the negative energy present in the thread
  20. Salaam brother MMA, sideed tahay? You're right, you rarely hear these words, some wouldn't even understand them because they are mainly used by ciyaal xamar, I think. I have this close friend who probably overuses the word jini, esp when she's talking about or used to talk about this one brother whom the word probably fit well; she'd always say ' wax jini luu sheegaa' lol. But I never knew jinijini meant cartoons. I also tend to hear/use calibeesten nowadays for I live in Saskatchewan now; but quite honestly, I'm appauled by how the aboriginal community which we rarely heard much of in Ontario are so segregated and marginalized here in SK, it's really disheartening to see the type of living standards they've in way been forced to accept by mainstream society, or by stupidh cadaans shall I say. So yea, these words are nearing extinction because perhaps ppl are resorting to uhm, 'real Somali'? Here, I have a word for you, have you heard of the word jaangowracan recently, ever? For some reason I like to use that word, when it's befitting of course.
  21. Eid mubarak dear brothers and sisters, though I'm fasting today. Taqabalallahu minaa wa minkum!
  22. Assalamu Alaikum my dear brothers and sisters, As some have already mentioned, allow me to emphasize that death is not something to joke about. Prolonged life is a blessing as the prophet sallallahu calayhi wasallam said, so we should pray for it Insha'Allah so we can have the opportunity of preparing to meet with our beloved Creator. Another thing I wanted to mention is that we are in the midst of the last ten blessed days of ramadhan, if you haven't already boosted up your spiritual state and gotten into the right zone, this is your last chance Insha'Allah, hasten to benefit and rescue yourself! I will share a great reminder that I have received from one of my sheikhs for the last ten days Insha'Allah, if you ever had a noble wish and never knew how to go about achieving it...this is it! Do the experiment with great faith and you will succeed If you make the same dua, each day, for the last ten nights of Ramadan, it's guaranteed that you would have made that dua during Laylatul-Qadr. (A night worth 1000 months of reward in the sight of Allah). ******************************** So, prepare your dua from now! ******************************** Step 1: Ask yourself, "If Allah said to me, I'll give you anything you wish, just ask!" What would you ask for? Make a list. (Try to fill 2 pages worth of dua, from the goodness of this life and the next. Step 2: Pick about 6 of those things Step 3: Make dua for those 6 things consistently every night for the last ten nights of Ramadan. Of course, make as much dua as you want, but make sure these 6 things are consistent. With best wishes to see you succeed at the highest level! - Muhammad Alshareef p.s be a little logical too, if you don't for instance pray salah (the min level of iman below which one is outside the fold of Islam) and you wish for your duas to be accepted, then you might want to put things in perspective 1st. But Allah is merciful, just do the little He asks of you and He shall grant you whatever you ask of Him bi'idnillah pps: one of the 6 for me is "Ya Allah, Tawafanii Musliman wa Alxiqni bi Saalixiin" (= Oh Allah, let me die as a Muslim and make me among the saliheen. Amazing favourite dua of mine which I believe was that of prophet Yusuf calyhi salam). Neatly fits into the topic at hand too. Of course the outcome of this one we won't be able to test in this life, but May Allah accept it from us all. ameen. ***leaves waving at Nephy***
  23. Ramadaan Kareem everyone! May Allah accept our ibaada, forgive our sins and increase us in taqwa. This is the first ramadan ever where I'll be spending it away from home and family . Now I truly feel what students away from their family and friends used to go through! Boy is it a difficult transition, but Allah macanaa.
  24. Assalamu Alaikum darling Zenobia, how are ya? (can I just call you Zanuba? ). So lovely of you to share these websites, barakallah fiik. Have you been participating in the discoverU sessions? How do you like them? They've become quite popular in the Toronto area, which I personally no longer have the pleasure of residing in. I miss Almaghrib classes . If I may add one site too, it's called Internet Islamic University. Another huge benefit of the online world alxamdulilah, the faculty of this university is quite impressive masha'allah, very international and some of my favourite scholars are among them. They offer various designations from certificates to degrees. Insha'Allah it'll be of benefit to some. May Allah keep the doors of knowledge open for us. Ameen.
