this is a welcome move. i hope the mosque and any associated institutions, in addition to being a place of worship, will be used as a means to create understanding between french muslims and non-muslims... in the end they should see each other as french... and not be defined solely by their religious beliefs...

Women are mistreated everywhere, good article Ibti, we should all work towards the elimination of the institutionalized societal injustice towards women, they are suffering the longest from marginalization... If this continues they will take up arms like they have done in some parts of the world: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/7068875.stm The ideal situation in a society would be one where men and women are equal and where there is mutual respect ... no ifs, buts or ands...

But, rather how her husband became aware of it, since she was clearly keeping it down low. As geeljire pointed out her bill was under her name, but when the husband signed up for the same company (rogers) for his internet and phone bill they decided hey they are family we might as well bundle it up? the question is what right did they have to bundle it up?..so this is a privacy issue. I wouldn't know whether they will give her the 600 000 dollars she asked for..but I think she will get something off it... just my thoughts... ^^ I think you've got a valid point, let's see what comes out of it, although I have no mercy for her

I've lived in Europe and I personally prefer life there, but that doesn't mean the US has no merits of its own... so, I too, would like to hear your argument as to why Europe is superior to the US... Please list your "many, many ways" here... go to Wikipedia if you must you're not getting off that easy

you think? Rogers might get a slap on the wrist but there must be some legal implications on her infidelity as it's grounds for a divorce, the judge might say that since she was cheating, the husband has every right to divorce her. As for Rogers' mailing of the bill, I don't know exactly what the outcome might be since Rogers' can state that this was it was not the company's fault that the marriage broke up, since she was doing something that provides the legal grounds for a divorce...

^^LOL@"a country which makes sweeping generalizations about the entire world." Stuff and nonesense ya Sherban. If you want to pinpoint, say Hollywood, say US foreign policy, not just "a country"... it's "a country" of 300 million viewpoints and opinions, coast to coast... about the same size as the Eurozone (16 countries) There are always people who generalize about others, but you don't have to follow suite and do the same

There is a large, beautiful mosque, the Islamic Cultural Center of New York on the upper east side (below), and the Masjid Malcom Shabazz in Harlem...
