Well ibitisam I wasn't keeping track of the calories but I was aiming for something little less or close to 2000 calories per day. Crystal light is not those type of food thing it's more like powder to be added to water nothing else and it really doesn't taste bad...The idea of raisin and other things is really great one I would definitely add raisins to my next week's shopping list...I have had carrots and let me tell you the first day I thought I was going throwing up ...But the next day, it tasted great to me

lool ibtisam the first day of the weight watcher my sister order pizza and I love pizza but I was able to resist and not eat even a tiny bite...Three days into the this thing and my sister made my second favorite thing brownies, this one i didn't resist, but I made sure I only had a very small small piece...If you really want chocolate you should try to find a satisfying alternative to that which you can eat on regular basis...I eat this 5 calories gum that gives me that sweet craving I might have and not too bad for me...I also add "crystal light" a sugar free but again 5 calorie thing that sweetness my water so that I drink the amount of water needed daily. bee bye

Hmm Am I to be the first one Alright so it’s a week later and it’s time to fess up…First of all, it took me 10 years to put on 30 pounds, so I had to set up a real weight loss expectation before beginning this exercise…So I decided that 10 pounds loss should be a good number to aim for each month (meaning 2.5 pound loss each week)…With that in mind, next step was to figure out how I wanted to go about losing the weight…I began with of course cutting off my coke supply and fast food…I am happy to report I have succeed in both, I thought it was going to be really hard to not eat something outside as I spend 12 hours every day out and about…Next I had to think about my meal plan, as I said I decided to go with smaller meals and reducing my main meal portion…So I had to shop for this week which is something I have never done before and it was interesting actually thinking about food…I brown bagged my lunch every day (mainly consisted of tuna sandwich, chicken sandwich, and pasta)…I eat breakfast (yogurt, bagel, banana, toast) every day…I walked on average about 40 minutes each day and had a dance class for 3.5 hours…And that concludes my week on weight watcher. Goal: 2.5/week Starting Weight: 190 End Weight: 187.5 Talk to you guys next week…Bee bye, Khadra

I agree with Zola there have been a lot of great movies made over the years. Imagine going to video store and asking people for a movie by the actor "Ali Dheere" I am glad I actually get to learn they real names. I enjoyed this song from Raja Hindustani

When I saw you put your weight on there, I was like "oh boy" Am I expected to tell my own number!!!...Even as I type this message my heart is pounding but I guess its the start of changing. Well I weighted myself this morning before work and my current weight is 190 pounds. My routine would be to walk about an hour each day, start to incorporate small meal plans (to increase my metabolism cause eating one meal isn't working out), eat breakfast, and I joined a Latin ballroom dancing class which starts this Sunday...I hope it works! I will report back next week, are we doing it early in the morning or anytime during the day would be fine? bee bye

Ibtisam I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't seriously want to lose the weight because I didn't want to make myself phsyically appealing...Smaller market eh well I will take your word for it, but now I am interested in "me time" Cadaan I think that is a great idea and hopefully the admin would be able to set it up...Let us know what they say...Bee bye

Zola, It was a very good movie wasn't it even though it wasn't a hit as they say. I loved Jannat and it was really a good movie...Definitely worth a watch. Adam, I guess that's okay we all those movies, we don't watch for a long time or don't finish right away. I am looking forward to watch Sarkar Raj which was released this past friday bee bye

Zola You are not the only one, I can’t say I struggled with weight but over the last 10 years I have put on 35 pounds on my ideal weight…Still first time I went to a gym was in Egypt when I was like 14 years old, it didn’t succeed to do whatever it was suppose to do, not for the lack of trying…At the gym we got weighted every time we walked in and out…But every time I left the gym, my friends and I would stop by and get food and ice cream, so they kicked us out of the gym. You are absolutely right, diets don’t work, it’s about a life style change…When you deprive yourself of something, you would constantly be wanting it and sooner or later would return to your old habits…To reduce my sugar intake I gave up pop instead of using splendor, because that’s where the majority of my sweet intake came from…I think giving up fast food would be great for us because we relay on the quick fix and we eat so much of it on a regular basis, so thinking about your meal plans on weekly basis is a good habit to develop. Now like Ngonge (sp) my mother began talking about my fatness (how that might make me less attractive to a man to marry me), I didn’t care really…Now that I am about to reach my expiration date in the marriage market, I thought it was time for me to get healthy for me…So I am exciting about this. Cadaan, I am sorry I didn’t exclude you from it, but you just didn’t say you were in (I need an affirmation) and didn’t make suggestions…So I am glad to have you on board, you probably be losing weight at a faster rate than us, but it’s all good…From now on your topic is yours, keep us updated. Delilah better late than never, welcome aboard

Ibtisam, Whenever I start thinking about losing weight I start to think about the reward I would give myself for doing it…I can stop eating this for a whole five days but in the weekend I am going to do that and this…Trust me it doesn’t work out, we should just jump in and give it up and it isn’t like forever but for a month and afterward maybe you wouldn’t even think about it…it is going to be difficult, couple of months ago I gave up coke (not the drug but the pop), and trust me that was hard, I thought about it every moment but I knew I couldn’t just drink one a day instead of two, I had to give it up all…I kept a calendar were I marked off the days and once I got comfortable I started marking the coming days that way when I thought about getting a drink I would say “oh no today is off”…And voila next thing I know it’s been a month and a half. If a month is too much, how about two weeks to start it off? As for the six small meals, I agree with you it is hard…Maybe those who don’t eat breakfast now we eat one…Someone might buy healthy bar or bring a fruit with them to work or what not, that would be consider a very small meal…Again there was the other alternative of eating smaller portion of your food. how does that sound?

Well it seems like we got some momentum going on so we should go ahead and begin the process…Maybe Cadaan if he wants to join with us or have additional suggestions he can add on… Confirmed participant are: Hayam Ms. DD Kool Kat Shaken and Deterred Ibtisam Scorpion_Sista Here are the plans for the Weight Loss 1. We are going to do a weekly weight loss report- we should weight ourselves at the beginning of each week and then at the end…We can start this Friday June 13, 2008 and we would report our weight loss accomplishment or lack of on Friday June 20, 2008 2. Abstain from Fast Food for one month 3. Exercise-this would depend on the individuals, some can go to gym, walking, sports, etc. 4. Meals: We can do 6 small meals or we can do smaller portions of whatever meals we have the time to eat…We should try to change our eating habit for this. I think this is a great idea knowing you have to report your weight for everyone definitely might help that “French-fries” loss its appeal Nephthys we ladies are definitely going to need your support during the “water retention” time, so better have those fingers ready to write words of inspiration to keep us from giving up when the weight isn’t dropping. Does this work for you guys? Does this work for you guys? Can make any suggestions or additions you want. Bee bye

Western's world answer to everything is medication and more medication. You could be experiencing these pains due to your posture (if you slouching when you are at your computer)...I think one cause it might be is your bed, you don't have the right mattress to support your body...Maybe you should consider shopping for a new mattress!!...Another reason for back pains could be that sometimes females who have slim figures but are chesty tend to have more backaches due to the heavy load they carry. Make sure that you wear the right footwear for your work type...Reduce your stress...And I hope you figure out the cause and get better treatment...bee bye

Hayam, I think that would be too much, what I think would be easier, is to merely report the number of pounds lost on a monthly basis...And if someone wanted to know your daily workout or exercise pattern then they can ask and whoever then can share their method. Does it make sense? bee bye

Early this year I watched that Biggest loser-Couples show and it was really the only reality tv I wanted to partake in if they would do the weight-in fully clothed. Anyways, I think it is a great new beginning there, and men tend to lose more weight faster than women even if they followed the same formate...I have also decided to shed the weight this year there is no reason to wait anymore...I haven't been eating as healthy as I should now, I took a month off of fast food, but kind went back to having at least fast food twice a week...I am having more water now and decided to talk the bus and park my car (saves me gas too) and walk to work and home...My goal is to be 35 pounds lighter We should set a goal date and see who reaches it first!!...That might at least keep me motivated. Bee bye

Last month I was reading this advice column and the letter of choice for that week was from a gentleman who married a woman from a conservative Islamic background, I assume he was a convert, and not of the same culture...But anyways I guess she told him that she never been with a man before and as the sexual relationship progressed between him and her, he began to suspect she wasn't telling him the truth, when she confessed to him then that she has done everything except intercourse...He was upset and was asking for an advice on whether he should seek divorce. I agree with Baashi on this, it isn't whether she was or wasn't it is about the disclosure of the truth...Although I think he could have handled it better than do it on the wedding night and let everyone know about it as well...Bee bye

Yeah adam it was a beautifully made film, you should check the movie "Lagaan" it was made by the same director and was nominateed for a foreign film oscar. BTW whatever happened to that movie KANK? Hayam, it was a great film, I really enjoyed the story line...Did you watch another film called "Hamara dil aapke paas" sorry if i misspeled the name!!! Shaken I watched that film in the theater, honestly beside how beautiful it was made and Madhuri's overlooked performance, it wasn't too interesting plot...Sanjay Leela Bansali you should check out "Black" which starrs Rani Mukraji
