Generally speaking first we make our habits, and then our habits make us. For me to give a person a chance to change themselves to become better muslim is more than am willing, but the person has to be serios about changing their habits to better themselves, I have been in a situation I was interested in someone just to disappoint my self, becuase they really didn't care about Islam, or weren't willing to make changes of their habits, like only praying when they had time, and it was basically second nature to them. Its true that we all have our flaws and no one is perfect, but for us women, well I should say me--have too much expectations for guys which I still I have to find, which makes me question my self if its at all possible to find someone that fits in that profile. So until I know for sure, that guy is someone I can spend the rest of my life with and Islam is on his priority list, I'm not comprimising cause at the end I will have to live with the consequences of my decision.

A.A [2.112] Yes! whoever submits himself entirely to Allah and he is the doer of good (to others) he has his reward from his Lord, and there is no fear for him nor shall he grieve. Just an ayat I though I should share from the first juz.

Ramadan Karim everyone! I carry a musfax, and read whatever I can, whenever I can. Also at work I just put on head phone listen and follow the quran being recited, it helps me out alot, for the pronounciations, and since am trying to memorize the quran, its great listening to the quran, especially if you are trying to memorize. Here is a website where the quran is being recited by sudays! Just click on the surah you want to listen to, N listening is all you got to do. Quran

I personally lose weight in ramadan, but I guess it has to do with me only eating Salad for Iftar cause thats the only thing I can find on Campus, and by the time I get home is too late for me to eat. But the best to conrol ur weight in Ramadan is dont eat alot, and if u r going to eat sahur and will be going back to bed eat something light that doesn't have too much fat.

Definitely 14 factors that could make us better muslims, just changing few of our bad habits can help us alot. Thanks Br. Nur for sharing your insights, may allah reward u for it.

No matter how the person made me feel. I cant stand habits such as smoking and qaat, and how can a wrong person give u the right feeling?

A.A. They let her back in school, After CAIR (The Council on American Islamic Relations)had contacted them and explained to them that hijab was part of our deen. Whether its their country or not, we are living in it, and we have the same rights as they do. No one is telling them how to dress, even though they almost walk half naked. It was never a problem until France situation become widely known, and they are trying to implement the same thing here, and I personally dont thing is ever going to happen.

Og_girl Sis I know is not the best situation to be in, I've been in a situation but vice versa, they wanted to marry a guy and I didn't. beleive me talking to ur parents is the best thing to do, they might still disagree, but the choice is yours to make, you will be the one spending your life with this guy, and your parents might have different angle of looking at things, but at the end you will have to put up with the consequences of your choice. If they dont have any reason or good reasons for not giving you their blessings, then do what u gota do.

ManOfWisdom My intention were not to critisize you, and always try my best not to go in a direction in doing that cause I dont have the right, I just thought in letting u know that u should atleast be trying in doing in what is right even if its not ramadan. I apoligize if you took it any other way, I hope u will accept my sincere apology.
-
^^ Manofwisdom not to judge or anything you should atleast be trying not to gossip or look at women even if it's not ramadan. I thought u were wise enough  As for me, I will never have iftar with my family am either at work or in class, am so But inshallah, my goal for ramadan is to memorize another juzz of the quran.

Allahumma ijal leesanee ‘aiman bi dhikrika wa qalbi bi khashyatika. Innaka ‘ala ma-tasha’u qadeer wa anta hasbun-allahu wa na’mal wakeel.” “Oh Allah! Make useful for me what you have taught me and teach me knowledge that will be useful to me. Oh Allah! I ask you for the understanding of the prophets and the memory of the messengers, and those nearest to you. Oh Allah! Make my tongue full of your remembrance and my heart with consciousness of you. Oh Allah! You do whatever you wish, and you are my availer and protector and best of aid.” Dua After Studying “Allahumma inni astaodeeka ma qara’tu wama hafaz-tu. Farudduhu ‘allaya inda hajati elahi. Asalamu alaikum Very enlightning article, I must say I learned alot from the article, I usually call non muslims kafirs not to judge them or anything, but to me it just means the same us unbeleiver, inshallah I will try my best to avoid the word. Thanks for sharing the article Sweet_gal.

I hope inshallah this might never happen, but if my parents last wish was me to marry someone they liked, I would probably do it, my mom and I have a very close relationship, and I would never let anything come between us.

A.A. This is soo sad, walahi, I dont know what the future holds for somali people Inshallah allah willing for the best. Is not only kufars giving us a bad name, but ourselves, and it seems we are accomplishing that, we are lacking the brain to think. Everywhere we go, Somalis are painting a bad image about themselves, and worse yet we are giving others the chance to look at the image and take advantage of it, its just plain sad. May allah help us.

Human rights are already granted by allah already, we dont need to look further for human rights cause we all have been granted that through Islam. They are a part and parcel of the Islamic Faith. It can't be compared to Magna Carta or United nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, They are just an expression of a pious hope. They have no sanctions behind them, no force, physical or moral to enforce them. What the lady is doing is noble, I dont know why ppl are critising her efforts to help her country. She is there to help helpless children and women, and she is not atleast from what I read is saying Islam is lacking human rights. she got the award for helping her country, and it seems some nomads are having problems with that fact, after all no one knows her niyah and so many are already judging her becuase of asumptions.
