  1. Rudy, I looked into the traffic school thing and it seems to be a sure deal walaahi but I wonder how does it work? Do I have to ask the judge and get a permission to attend the school or do I have to register prior the court day? how di u do it homie, feel me in.. LOL@look out for Ford Crown Victoria’s… most of which are driven by either cops or elderly people… You funny dude. Actually I was driving behind this guy who was speeding too and I also mentioned to the officer that I was driving at the flowing of the traffic but that did not help. Can you believe I and my friend were interrogated for abt 30 mins? The minute he saw my last name, he started asking me some ****** questions like what am doing in St. Louis Missouri if I am from MN? He also called like 5 backup troopers and the whole place was a mess walaali. It seemed like the captured some Al-Qaeda members   wouldn’t even think of speeding if I was you though,,, think about how much your insurance premium will soar up to if you get a third one!! Is it really worth it!! I hear you brother and that is why am trying to keep off my record but I should be more careful in the future Insha Allah. Thanks bro Nafisa, thanks for the Dua Inadeer. Insha Allah, it will turn out olrite.
  2. Dear brothers and sisters, I need some tips on how to beat these tickets and prevent them going on my record so please share with me your experiences, experts, tips, and tricks that could help me beat them. I got these tickets(2) in a span of 4 weeks and they both got me on RADAR. Furthermore, I was way above the limit but I just feel that I have to fight them and see how it goes. I know am innocent until proven guilty and that’s why I want to roll the dice, take the chance with trial and plea NOT guilty instead of getting into probation even though I am not hopeful. Help your brother nomads. Insha Allah, I will read your responses if any before I head to the Court On this Tuesday. Also soducee walayaal

Quizie! 6 people had a score lower than yours 90 people had a score higher than yours 4 people had a score the same as yours I am surprised I got that high score! You guys keep on saying Somalian. There is no such word, for God sake the word is "Somali" and you are not the ones who should be saying that. Leave that for the non-somalis to say it I

  9. Look at you guys playing the race card when it suits you. Like someone said, I think the best man wins. Kwame is well-Educated but Bill has better buiz ideas and creativity. Kwame is a follower and cannot match upto Bill in terms of leadership and business stategies and Trump wants a leader not a regular employee. If it was upto me, I would hire Troy over Bill, then Bill and then Kwame

  14. THE MAKING OF A SOMALI SUPER WOMAN There is a fast moving revolution in the trend of changes of the Man-Woman partnership roles in the life.. It simply means women in general felt that the roles they had accepted centuries ago was not a fair one hence change was inevitable. Swap of positions with Man was always impossible but equal status became what the West (the civilized world as it is today called) always advocated. The main question is whether equal status is the right approach or not and is the role of woman in the old days really an unfair one. It is undeniable that the Somali women suffered comparatively lack of proper education , lack of full participation in the social & political activities of the society, confinement of their duties in the household activities and other difficulties even though Somalia was not a pioneer in this deviation from the right treatment to women. . In the old days in Europe, the main job of the woman was confined to being an excellent homemaker till the moderators, who had anti church campaigns, launched their efforts to free man from the limitations of customary beliefs however their campaign went beyond the well being of human being and in many cases against the holy regulations of a religion. Unluckily today for the civilized Somali women, the main standard measure for perfection is the 'Woman in the West ' and that is not their mistake for they were forced to live there in the West and adopt the western cultures. Countries like India , women are proud to be better home makers while still doing the other office jobs and business. She prepares delicious breakfast for the beloved husband & children and sends them out early morning before she goes to her office. All these happen while she never missed reading the western life style in the women magazines flooded in the country. The Somali woman should put forward the challenges ahead of her to become a perfect super woman. This means that SHE: Adheres to the belief that the role provided to her in Islam is not against her interests. Considers the big difference between the two worlds ( Somalia and the west). Sees the danger in jumping from deep down to the peak ( i.e. the need of smooth slipping to balanced modernization - Not westernization) Realizes the need for deep understanding of what is good for a woman and not necessarily embrace the 'women rights' as perpetuated by the West. Accepts to give the time required to let the Somali society adjust to the new reality through proper awareness programmes by the government. Rejects the ' challenging the man' attitude pioneered by the woman in the West through feminism campaigns and accepts to be the real partner to man as Haawa(Eve) became to Abuuna Adam naturally. Explores the many ways that woman enjoys privileges in Islam and engages through efforts to reach this knowledge to her Somali sisters who do not realize it. Always remembers that among the Somali Men, there are those who believe that without the right woman partner (matching wife), there is no progress with Man. Accepts that the western woman style can not be the standard perfect woman symbol that the Somali women should draw examples as between the two worlds, there is a vast ocean. If you wake up one fine morning and decide to implement above points, I promise you are the long searched for Somali Super Woman who draws the best from each culture, adds her own wisdom, always keeps Islam as the guard & reference and hence produces perfect family. Always remember behind A successful Somali Man, there is YOU, my dear sister .
  15. I have never been to the U.K. but what I hear, that place is just like living in Nairobi! Londoners, isaxa hadiin waxa la iiga sheegey london ay beentahay: 1. There are times when you cannot make phone calls. 2. Electricity is limited. PPl use some sort of prepaid cards, smart cards for electricity. 3. No hot water for qubeys!!!! 4. Gasoline is very expensive 5. Parking lots are expensive 6. Because of #s 4,5, you cannot own a car therefor, y'all ride the subway, trains,-I remember Dawaco was complaining abt how she was squeezed by this 3DDD lady the other day on the bus/train if am not mistaken. 7.Joblessness, Qaad/chad eaters in a big way-Yes, we have Qad problem but not to the extent I heard abt UK. 8. Less Educational opportunities--here almost every somali has the opportunity to pursue higher education b/c financial aid availability due to their financial needs. You can go through 4 yrs of college with a minimal debt. I doubt if that the case for u nomads in UK! More to come......

  18. 38 POINTS. Others see you as sensible, cautious, > >careful &practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or > >talented, but modest. > >Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but > >someone who's extremely loyal to friends you do make and who > >expect > >the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you > >realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, > >but equally that > >it takes you a long time to get over if that trust is ever > >broken. This is 99.999% my true personality. This is the most accurate so-called persnality test I have came across so far. Right on the dot!!
  19. Yarey, suurada badan iyo indha war-wareejinta jooji or else, <<<<-----this way is SOMnet. BTW, which NOMAD approved your membership?
  20. Garab salaaxe, adi hadii lugu dhagaysan waayo horaad kaniyad jabi haye? Nur saas maaha sxb e adi lee haniya jebin. One think for sure, SOL does not react to Nur's Wisdom and Intellects, all SOL does is tell him Jazaaka Allah bro Nur instead of echoing his stories, ask questions, and challenging him in a good and beneficial ways to encourage him and SOL too to think deeper and more wiser to bring a growth and a change. I think Nur had more fun and was much better to further DACWAH when he was on SOMnet????
  21. There has to be something that attracts you to the place-it does not take 15 minutes to browse the whole place nowadays. Everything is too predictable AND ppl cannot speak their minds

  23. Have you ever been to an American Wedding Ceremony? If you have, what are your experiences? Do friends need to bring gifts? if yes, what kind and what do you suggest personally? The reason I am asking you this is that,I am Invited by a former classmate and friend to her wedding. The girl is a whit American and the guy is an Arab muslim brother even though I have never met him. They had been through hardships and difficulties when they announced their intentions of getting married and the girl's family was really opposing it simply because the guy is a Muslim but they finally agreed to at least come to their wedding. I really want to go and show my solidarity and support them since I was invited but, I have no clue of what I'm expected of as a friend and I have never been to a non-somali ceremony. I'm very cautious person and I'm little concerned about my lack of familarity in this sort of environment. I would like to have some basic knowledge pertaining to this before I attend so I dont look out of place, I am sure her family won't like to see some other blacks or Muslims at the event. Obviously, what we(somalis) consider normal, might be a BIG NO NO to them. So let me know if you have some tips and informative piece about "American Wedding ceremonies"-Dos & Donts or simply your own experiences
  24. A friend of mine sent this to me and I feel it's worth passing along. THE # 77 ON YOUR CELL PHONE Lauren was 19 yr. old and in college. It was the Saturday before New Year's and it was about 1pm in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UN-MARKED police car pulled up behind her and put on his light. Lauren's parents have 4 children (high school and college age) an have always told them NEVER to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather wait until they get a gas station, etc., so Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly called # 77 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there where police cars where she was and there wasn't and he told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he had back up already on the way. Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her. One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground the man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes. I never knew about the #77 Cell Phone Feature, but especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going to a "SAFE PLACE". You obviously need to make some signals that you acknowledge them (i.e., put on your hazard lights) or call # 77, like Lauren did. Too bad the cell phone companies don't give you this little bit of wonderful information. So now it's your turn to let your friends know about # 77. Send this to every woman you know, it may save their life.
