  1. "the world cannot do without my uniqueness of potential" Laughable to say the least. To the contrary, the world has forgotten Africa and moved on long time ago while Africans were in their sleep. Hands down to Africa at least for now.
  2. I have no doubt that finesista is pulling our legs but cases such as this do happen. I have heard far more shocking stories about abusive spouses. Some I laugh at them some I feel sorry for them.

"and when I try to end the task nothing happens either" Maybe you disabled your task manager accidently and I'm not sure if I can help you with that. Sorry Sue. Did you or anyone else did anything to your registry?
  7. Here are some excerpts of what services they offer under false pretense to lure unsuspecting Somalis. It seems that our youths are raided right in-front of our eyes and what bothers me the most is that we Somalis (SOLERS from Minnesota) can offer the same services or better ones but I guess giving back to our communities is something we haven’t learnt yet as Somalis. AJ, besides calling this guy and his organization, we can also put up your above post at all Somali Malls and inform the Somalis. We can even talk with Somalis communities Minnesota, Mosques’ Committees and any other Somali organizations such as MSSA. I believe we can a lot about this. Unlike other churches and mission groups who focus on social justice and de-emphasize sharing their convictions, Mohamed and SomServ are focused on holistic ministry, including a religious dialogue component. We would rather be open to loving and serving and sharing the Gospel." In other words, the approach of SomServ is to offer the same assistance that other groups offer - ESL, mentoring, employment assistance - but to be direct about the reasons behind its ministry. According to Mohamed, SomServ's most active ministry thus far is Somali Adult Literacy Training (SALT), serving 120 Somali adults at five sites around the Twin Cities. With over 100 volunteers from surrounding churches, Mohamed hopes that bringing together American Christians and Somali Muslims will lead to mutual understanding and respect for one another's convictions. During the month of Ramadan, for example, Somali students share about the meaning of Ramadan, while Christian teachers will share about biblical teaching on fasting. In time, Mohamed believes some Somalis will choose to follow Christ. SomServ has begun a program geared toward youth called Somali Youth Reach (SYR) for those looking for guidance in America. According to Mohamed, "We want to provide a bridge whereby we can work alongside them ... just guide them to right decisions and right opportunities." Other SomServ ministry programs include Safe Home, which focuses on assisting Somali women adjust to American life, and Somali Christian Project, which focuses on microeconomic empowerment. Besides the work of SomServ, Mohamed dedicates much time to discipling the USF, the largest community of Somali Christians in America. This fellowship, a Christian community of Somalis, is the only known Somali Christian community in the U.S. While some local church leaders are reluctant to draw Somalis away from their immigrant communities and the religious teachings that hold them together, Mohamed sees an implicit stereotype in their concern. 8. It depends what you consider public AJ. For me, I usually pray at some isolated place in the library while I am studying. I once turned around and prayed right at where I was studying in the middle of the library but while we are on a journey, we allowed to combine 2 prayers, shorten and delay them and in the case of these muslims praying on the plane, Allah with them but I think they shoukd not put themselves in this risky situation...just look at the crowd around them and the looks on their faces
  9. Be warned brothers about laptops and their sideeffects or even worse, briefs!! Laptops put male fertility in the hot seat By Fred Locklear The male gonads do not like heat. Sperm production is optimal at temperatures lower than normal body temperature and evolution has obliged by creating the scrotal sac to keep the testes cooler and allow for better fertility. The connection between fertility and temperature has been studied before, with some research suggesting that boxers were better than briefs in optimizing sperm production. Now that laptop computers are commonplace at home and in the workplace, researchers have been worried that hot laptop computers when used in the laptop may increase scrotal temperature and affect male fertility. After seeing there was only anecdotal "research" into laptop use and the effect on male reproductive organs, researchers devised an experiment to test these effects. They asked male volunteers to sit in a laptop-using position for an hour with or without a working computer in their laps. Researchers found the computer users had an elevated testicle temperature, but the effects are not as pronounced as many news outlets have inferred. The majority of the temperature rise was attributed to the position the subjects were sitting in compared to standing. Even without the computer present, body heat from the men's thighs raised the temperature of the scrotum by 2.1°C. With the computer present, the temperature could climb another 0.7°C. While the laptops did cause a rise in scrotal temperature, it is not know how much this affects short term/long term sperm quality and fertility and researchers plan to measure these effects in future studies. For laptop users with worries about fertility problems... I wonder if there would be market for liquid-cooled briefs?

  20. Bismilaah Salafi, bro, this is a Nasiiha NOT a personal attack but your tone of discussions and choice of words are wrong and it is not appropriate to simply dismiss the ideas of others as foolish and ignorance, no matter how shallow their arguments seem to you. You must lend them a respectful ear and respond to their ideas with yours. We must bring the appropriate medicine to treat the diseases that we encounter as Muslims if we wish to cure the maladies that afflict us. Arguments are best won by presenting evidence with respect and sobriety NOT by labeling them and calling them names. Composure and gentleness of tone, when accompanied by sound evidence and intelligent arguments, is the best way to refute falsehood and win hearts over to the truth NOT with harsh words, quick tongue, and personal attack. We have to be patient with one another akhii.
  21. Lets keep this topic going folks if you will!!
  22. ^^^^^^you don’t have to steal it huuno, we can share it OG-girl, is that ur pic?? is cute... Qac, lets get it right awoow, first of all, there are many other different qabills in the region other than the Agga people as you put it Okey? Secondly, Somalis are not the only people, who live/born in Somalia as you put it in your definition #2 above because your def excludes millions of people who do not live in Somalia, never lived in Somalia and also their ancestors never lived in Somalia, you with me Qac? ….you don’t have to look any further to find one of those people because I am a prime example myself.Do I consider myself as a somali?? Absolutely!! Being a Somali (person) is not determined by a place of birth or residence but an ancestry/blood and a lineage. I think that we saying the same thing but just having a semantic/language problem 1. Somalia----Country, excluding NFD, DJbuuti, and ******ia at the moment 2. Somali------person (singular) 3. Somalis-----persons (pl) 4. Somali-----this is the language spoken by the Somalis regardless of where they live or were born---i.e. Djibouti, NFD, Somaliland, ******ia and the Greater Somalia This is not a Qabiil talk ppl but rather who is a Somali? What makes someone Somali?? Which I believed was discussed on this site many times . OG-girl, sorry if I interrupted your Af-somali lessons.
  23. Qac, Awoow, I think you need to distinguish between being somali/somalis and somalia!! Hence the country and the ethnicity You can be a somali and NOT from somalia....
  24. ^^^^^Awoow maxaad kayaabtey waxba uma jeede, I think I have to get my glasses. I will be back Is this a free style topic?? Anigu koley ma fahmin except the cheese part!!
  25. Imagine getting caught on camera and pleading innocent...liking it, so how does it work? ^^^^I cannot believe myself I did that but hey, it does work.....I actually avoided to appear in front of the judge and dealt with the CITY ATTORNEY (pleading NOT guilty in private) even though she denied me to get into probation programm or going to Traffic school. But there are many other options to keep the ticket off your record unfortunately, the court does not tell you that so you have to buy time and gether some info and to do that, I had to plea Not guilty so they can reschedule me for trial and in the mean time, I can do my thing and look into the Traffic school and other programms that are available as bro Rudy mentioned and advised me in his second post----Pleading Not guilty even though u r caught on camera, might be a good decision afterall even though it might not sound right at first......so next time dont be so quick pleading guilty and hang yourself, you might get away with it.
